The hotel was low-key and off-the-beaten path. It's close enough to Cascais and yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. It would have been nice if the hotel had a beach presence, meaning, an area reserved fro hotel guests, including chaise lounges and parasols.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel and the staff and the quality of the food was excellent. I hope i have the pleasure of staying there in the near future. Many Thanks I thought the size of the food plate at breakfast was to small it was like a side plate as a result you are eating off two or three plates at a time.
The staff was extremely polite and helpful... The breakfast (included) was excellent and abundant... the room was beautifully furnished.
Great service, wonderful location, terrific cuisine
extremely friendly staff. The only suggestion i would have for the hotelmanagement is to install some extra computers for hotelguests. Only one slightly outdated pc was available.
quiet and close to beach
Professional and friendly staff Nothing
Service was excellent and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. the prices of drinks was expensive.
Everything Construction next to the hotel - noise
The Palacio Hotel is well named as it is indeed a Palace. We stayed in a room with a balcony which had a wonderful view. The staff were excellent, friendly and spoke very good English. The Four Seasons Restaurant was fabulous and well worth a visit.
Everything about our stay was fantastic and luxurious! Breakfast was divine, spa was amazing as was hotel pool.
Nothing special but expensive
the bathroom is very small (especially comparing to the size of the room itself); quite a poor selection for the breakfast
Big clean room with nice big balcony (but actually I've seen some other rooms were very little). Close to casino. close to casino, but a lil far away from the ocean (really cold water!) and the central life with reastaurants and shops. Traffic on the roads near hotel in nighttime.
wide and clean room. location just near casino
Friendliness of staff. Size of rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. Good selection of TV channels. Location. Keycard system. Wi-Fi Internet connection. Everything really. A 4* hotel in my opinion. I would definitely stay there again at a similar rate. One thing I always like in hotels is a minibar, which the Alvorada doesn't have, but that's a minor thing, which doesn't detract from the overall experience.
Location was very convenient. Parking was difficult. The furniture in the rooms could be upgraded.
The overall experience was lovely. Staff friendly, good location to casino and beach. Nothing I can think of.
spotlessly clean, comfortable, convenient, spacious, quiet, helpful staff, good facilities and kind enough to leave us our room until 3 o clock also very near to beach, train station and casino of course!
Helpfull staff, good rooms The cramped breakfast area
Very convenient for beach, and travel by rail to Lisbon or Cascais Rooms could be sound proofed a bit more, as we were next to the lift, we could hear coming and going, and road / rail noise from the front. But these are quite minor complaints.
The friendly, helpful staff. The excellent location
location, weather, food was Ok, service in hotel, the room was clean and comfortable little ants in our breakfast table
Excelent staff, very good facilities, and a good place to rest, with the beach nearby
Older lady on reception couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast excellent, view wonderful, location fantastic for trains (Lisbon, Cascais, wherever) and walking along the promenade to Cascais. Nothing, it was really great
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Rooms were a bit worn, but kept clean
This was our 2nd time this year in this hotel and we would go back again. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, minutes from the station; close to the casino and a lovely walk to Cascais The breakfast is a bit repetitive although very good. The room was not always as clean as it could be.
Near the beach kasino and railway station.
very good location, close to Casino and train station, bus station
Staff very helpful, good value/money ratio. Comfort rooms, rich breakfast. In a four stars hotel I expected free wi-fi!!!
staff balcony door was broken so wasnt secure to sleep in the room, bathroom smelt funny, and beds moved around alot as they were on tile flooring
Location Desk staff at times were not helpful
The hotel is very close to the beach, and was very affordable. It took a long time to get a cup of coffee in the bar.
In a quiet area, easy accessible to the main resort. The room was a good size and facilities excellent but there was no drawer space for clothes and only four hangers, making it difficult for two people to put away clothes
Very relaxing place to stay, staff extremely pleasant & eager to assist. Cleanliness of entire hotel was excellent.
the staff were extemelly helpfull, nothing was to mutch of a problem.very friendly atmosphere at this hotel the hotel wasnt as nice as wot was portrayed on your web site, was a little dissapointed when i first got there, but once i settled in i enjoyed it.the staff made up for it
Yeah staff are friendly and food was delious Not really
The service and staff at this hotel was excellent, i could not fault any thing. The lift was out of order on the last day when i was checking out. Some one working in the hotel came along and carried down my suitcase, which i was very impressed with.
Very kindly staff
staff were the best in the world loud talking in the hallway at times
The Staff and Hotel were both Fantastic. Very good service, Friendly staff, Very Good Piano Players I really enjoyed the stay and would return.
quiet and relaxing unfortunately I was ill for part of my stay so was unable to enjoy the full experience
high quality rooms and general facilities poor breakfast (cold, hot food) and expensive. Hard unyieding bed.
Good atmosphere and very nicely presented. Very friendly staff.
Absolute luxury. Rooms, service and location all top class.
Staff, design... i liked everything! Everything was perfect.
It's a very beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff, who spoke English, so it was easy to communicate with them. I would like to have seen the brunch last a little bit longer. They closed it off at 10:30 and I'm used to brunches in the states going much longer.
Nice, large room with a comfterble feeling. Nice ,helpfull staff. Beautiful surondings A little bit away from the centrum
The hotel is beautiful and the spa was relaxing. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Location was great, across from the water and walking distance into town. The attention to detail in the pool area needs improvement. It was not busy and not used much since it was off season, however, during our 3 day stay empty glasses and bottles lying on the ground by the pool were never once picked up, nor was the concrete flooring around the pool swept or hosed off so your feet got full or grit if you walked barefoot to the pool. This is not acceptable at a 5 star resort. Also seemed odd that you had to walk upstairs to reception to obtain a pool towel.
Position and staff helpfulness
I have joint problems and found the bed was exceedingly hard. The indoor pool was closed.
Smart three star hotel, friendly staff, great location and value for money.Strongly recommended by the whole group None
Staff kindness. I loved the main coommon room and the panoramic restaurant. A sort of dumpness inside the ensuite facilities.
Well very nice, Hotell, Breakfast, was good, wiFi, was not free, 10 euro, for 24 hours, an super slow, is a minus, bed was Hard, but standard OK !! WiFi not free, hard bed......
The view! A little bit of traffic noise but ok :)
The staff were very helpful and friendly. I loved my room with the balcony and view of the coast! The room was very comfortable. Fantastic views from the breakfast room! - I am unable to recall other guest reviews and therefore am unable to comment on their accuracy. I would most definitely stay at this hotel again. The coffee at breakfast was undrinkable! Very disappointing.
Friendly staff, good location. the decor in rooms and bathrooms could be updated. The bathroom especially. Buffet breakfast could also do with a bit of a change. The pool was open - but no sun loungers to sit on!
Location and cleanliness of room No restaurant open in evening.
the great view from our room bathroom door access
room view and easy acces to public transportation customer service - staff always start answers by 'No'
I liked that fact that we were made very welcome and the staff were very friendly yet not over powering. yes, that we had only 4 nights in the hotel and we could have stayed longer.
Gorgeous bathroom; fantastic buffet breakfast, great staff unheated outdoor pool, indoor pool not available to hotel guests
Everything is very nice, staff very helpful. Roadworks outside but this is only temporary. Sometimes you have to wait too long for taxe but this is not the fault of the hotel. Breakfast is good but scrambled eggs are powered egg not real ones.
3 main things: 1) the bathroom! I want one :) 2) the design of the hotel. Even though it was on a busy road, the rooms look on to the ocean, and you can't tell. 3) beautiful facilities. I was in a conference and did not leave the hotel for 3 days. I've been stuck in a hotel before, and I could only wish that they were all like the Miragem.
The most beautiful of hotels. Attention to detail extraordinary. Very relaxing with a beautiful pool area. Food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The walk from the hotel to the village involved crossing a very busy duel carriagsway. This would not normally be the case but their is a large construction project taking place next door.
Hotel Cascais Miragem was everything I was after - fantastic location, wonderful views and professional, helpful and efficient staff. Only a short walk to main centre, provided guests the flexibility of eating at the many local restaurants or enjoying the wonderful facilities of the hotel. The transfer from airport was a short distance by taxi which was perfect for a short break. The outdoor pool was a key bonus with wonderful views of the coast. The key differentiator with Hotel Cascais Miragem was the outstanding service provided to get guests. A wonderful option for business events and something worth considering. Definitely back next year- thank you for a wonderful stay! N/A
Good atmosphere, central location, value for money Lack of ancillary games facilities e.g. table tennis, tennis etc.
very high standard for the service. Location is good but very close to a construction area and therefore quite noisy. Great breakfast some services were missing: 1) gym. To use the gym you should undergo a medical visit by a Portugues doctor. In addition the Gym was not in-house 2) bycicles. A popular way of visiting the cost of Cascais is the bycicle. The hotel should provide some for the guests.
Premium modern 5 star hotel overlooking the sea with our own balcony!! Exceptional buffet breakfast. Reasonably priced 5 star dining with excellent attentive serving staff. the free wi-fi internet connection only limited to public area and slow connection.
Good reception and good Price/quality. Nice location and see view
Helpfulness and courtesy of staff. Spacious rooms with great ocean views. Internet access poor. Most rooms have two single beds rather than a double bed. This wasn't an issue for me, but might be for others.
Restaurant and swimming pool and location Car parking fees
good hotel no
Room big nice sea view big breakfast and lots of it. Nice pools indoors and out doors. close to station for Lisbon Nothing
Good location, train station 3 minutes away as was the sea front Traffic noise
Excellent location, scenic view (ocean) from the balcony. A room with "see view" costs more than simple one but it is worth it. Friendly reception (and the rest of the staff). 2 min by walk to railway station, 3 min to beach, 10 min to Cascais center. The hotel is actually between Estoril and Cascais. Actually nothing remarkable, may be this small point: when breakfast was almost over (around 10:00 am) it was difficult to find a clean table with folks/knifes, we had to search for them (at the end we knew where the staff store them).
View from 14th floor sea-view room was spectacular. Fantastic, large spacious, comfy, rooms, also perfect location to the beach, nearby town & MotoGP circuit. Got soaked on the Saturday, no on-site facilities to dry clothing, ie: laundry room, or trouser press. Laundry is sent off-site Mon-Fri only. Also issues using internet facility in lobby. Was either down or no spare log-in's available on each occasion.
Friendliness of staff
Perfect location. Right on the beach and withing walking distance from Cascais and Estoril.
Very helpful reception staff; spacious room with pleasant view over pool area; self-catering possibilities provided alternatives to eating out; breakfast times very broad.
The T2 room (2 bedroom apt) was very spacious and clean. Good self catering facilities. Location. Also there is no supermarket nearby and the bar in the hotel was never open during are stay.
Breakfast, comfort of the room Need to improve the kitchenette's equipment (cutlery, cloth, dishes to serve) and it was better if there were a double bed
Big rooms, hospitality, activities breakfast and food court in general, cumbersome/not functioning wireless
Good value for money. Carpet in bedroom was badly stained.
Staff were excellent, particular mention for the restaurant/bar staff. Good facilities at Hotel Location, Estoril had nothing to offer but casino and Cascais at least half an hour walk (not 15 mins as suggested!)
The view from the room. The bedroom had 2 twin beds that were separated & would have been uncomfortable to put together in an attempt to sleep on, in addition to a lot of work that guests should not have to do. The sleeper sofa did not work and had to be fixed, so my wife & I were forced to sleep apart the 1st nite. It took a lot of complaining to get this done. The hotel overall was not worth 150 Euros a night, + more!
the location, the staff and the available parking was very good. the hotel was a bit on the old side, and the price a bit high. The breakfast was average at best. the indoor pool was too deep for small kids.
indoor en outdoors pool, excellent breakfast buffet. Centrally located for excursions to Sintra and Lisboa. The address of the hotel that booking.com provided turned out to be incorrect. For those with GPS, it should be: Rua Mato da Mina no. 9 in Sintra.
Needed a car as too remote
The hotel has a 4 star outlook but in fact everything there is very disappoiting. The quality of the service was unacceptable, the beds were cheap and uncomfortable, and outdoor swimmingpools are tiny, the sauna and turkish bath do not work properly (turkish bath has a stinky smell). The hotel is not convenientely located unless you want to go there to play golf. I had booked for two nights and then decided to check out after the first day.
My experience was that hotel and staff was family (children) friendly and tolerant. My two boys loved it which was exactly what I'd hoped for.
The reception staff were very helpful. The indoor pool and facilities were good. Room was clean and shower was great. The buffet only menus with no warning were a shock. No other restaraunts nearby without driving.
The area is very quiet and relaxing plus the staff is really helpful.
Relaxing enviroment, nice views to Sintra and friendly staff. Too crowded. The pool and dining room could not cope with the nunbers. No sunbeds left and had to que to get breakfast. Also could not have dinner as it was booked by other residents - the dining room is too small.
The room size Noisy clean services in the hallway and other rooms well be 9am. Poor service at the pool, lack of armchairs and toals at the pool site. Pool area to crowded and not taking advantage of the lawn area
The staff were very helpful and all spoke very good english. Anything you wanted they were happy to assist with...they gave us everything from booking a table at a restaurant, maps and specific directions and phone numbers and contacts if we got lost! The hotal was beautiful! no, i can't think of anything! everything was great!
The calmness and the friendlyness. Very nice place to stay
Very well appointed and maintained
Great pool, grounds are immaculate Breakfast was not very good, didn't like instant coffee and sweetened orange juice.
good price, clean hotel -
Very comfortable home-style hotel. The building is really beautiful looks like a luxurious villa with small swimming pool. 10 mins to the seaside.
Hotel Smart is family-owned, very friendly, well located even though a bit hard to find first, very clean and tidy and well decorated. The size is nice, with very nice terrasse and swimming pool, calm, near the beach, center and station. the breakfast is not a top one, but it explains the low price for a room compared to the quality of the rest.
Lovely garden and swimming pool. The buffet breakfast was good and the hotel was clean and run by a very pleasant couple. The people in the adjacent rooms were very noisy talking extremely loudly and slamming doors late at night but this was just bad luck
everything was very descent, staff very friendly and smiling, small bar, nice small swimming pool. Location safe. improvings could be noise reduction (can hear everything from the hallway to your room) and softier beds please :)!
Cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general.A room with a sea view was requested and granted. The hotel closed at 2am and a key was not available to enter after this time. The choice of food at breakfast was limited.
the unfriendly proprietor
hotel was centrally located in the town and close to the train station the hotel did not have an indoor swimming pool
Staff were friendly, pool area very good, enjoyable stay
Beautiful hotel..good location and very comfortable. Nicely decorated and nice size rooms.
Nice room, nice view, good location.
Beautiful building Better staff
Make sure you don't get a basement room
This hotel is really over-rated. In the standard of the United States, this hotel's rating should be 2.5, not 4.0. It is really misleading to list this hotel as a four star hotel. On the second day of our stay, the hotel did not have hot water in the morning, and we had to cold shower in middle of January. My wife got a little sick afterward. The hotel room is small, and there is unpleasant smell in the room and also from the shower curtain.
It is close to the beach and the train station. You cannot even sit straight on the toilet without hitting your knees in the sink, you have to sit sideways if you are planning to use the toilet. Room is damp and has a musty smell, plus the roof leaks when it rains and dripping on top of the TV. It rained for three days during our stay over there, room was suppose to be changed and since it stopped raining on the fourth day and nothing was done.
We absolutely loved the hotel.... our room was stunning... all facilities were fantastic. Bit low on staff and a few a little unfriendly but on the whole... a perfect weekend some unfriendly staff
Friendly staff, nice secluded swimming pool, beautifully decorated hotel, well positioned geographically, nice massage One person room, is extremely small
I liked almost everything about the hotel. My room was simply amazing: with ceiling was about 4m high, and I had a lovely terrace! The stuff was very helpful: I was going to Lisbon one afternoon, and got lots of advices from the personal. We had to leave to the airport early morning before the breakfast starts, so the personal brought us some breakfast into the room a night before. The only complaint is that one had to pay for WiFi (I think it would be more convenient to include it into the price for the room) and it didnt work all that well disappearing all the time.. Also the breakfast was a little poor with no fresh vegetables and too few fruits..
Enormously large rooms; modern interior; perfect quisine
Well appointed with comfortable room, good standard of service. Reception Staff particularly helpful, as indeed were all the staff in the dining room and the pool bar A little short on car parking space
The sitaution of the hotel The queues for a breakfast table.
Room had an amazing sea view
The hotel is suituated in an ideal location with staff that are excellent. My wife is a coeliac and without any special request the staff we able to get gluten free bread and ceral without any fuss which is usually a major problem when staying in hotels. No complaints
The breakfast All services were very good but the location was next to a beer garden. This apparantly had a licence to play loud music until 1:30 am even on a Sunday morning. With a long journey the following day i needed a good nights sleep but with the room vibrating, this was impossible and made even worse when the music finished as some of the hotel guests had obviously been there and continued to laugh loudly until 03:30am.On any holiday, a good nights sleep is of paramount importance and it is for this reason that I would never recommend this hotel to anyone until they can get the music licence cancelled or drastically reduced.
Nice pool area The beds were not good
The breakfast was excellent We found the hotel rather soulless, lacking in warmth and character. The access to the hotel was difficult to find when arriving and there was only one route to Cascais when walking. We found this rather long winded
Our room stunk of smoke!! Everywhere you went especially when yoiu were eating there was people smoking in your face! Great apart from that.
Location suggests privacy and quiet Noise. On three nights, Fri ,Sat ,Sun loud music from adjoining premises interfered with sleep. Hotel management were resigned to situation and were not helpful.
Location, friendly staff,
good location.proximity to beach. wasnt much to do in hotel when weather was bad.could not get anything to eat when we arrived at 9 oclock at night not even a drop of milk.
Yes it was underconsraction i̇n the hotel during my stay and the bed was dirty , because of thi̇s I have to warn the stafs
The position overlooking the sea with a balcony The wireless in the room was down which was one of the reasons I chose this hotel. The business centre's internet connection was also down. No remote for the TV
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The position of the hotel was ideal. We unfortunately had a lot of rain, which was not the fault of the hotel, but we did not like it!!!
very nice the recently decoration, quite place internet acess very expensive.
Hotel Staff very kind; acceptable comfort; nice view on the sea The hotel was being renovated during our stay: a bit noisy!
2nd time that i`ve stayed at this hotel while i was attending the motogp round at estoril .excellent all round service by staff and clean / modern hotel . i will stay here again ! ! !
no expresso at breakfast
Good location, pleasant rooms, lovely breakfast. Nice and clean and helpful staff Building site outside.
The hotel is within 20 mins of Penha Longa and the Quinta courses. The accommodation is very basic, those looking to spend time in the room would be advised to book elsewhere.
It is an o.k place to stay for the price Staff was not qualified to assist with questions at times. Breakfast was very basic, with not a lot of variety. Breakfast facilities were overcrowded during the weekend. Had to wait to get a cup for coffee.
I paid about US$35 per night. At that price, I would say it was a good value for basic accommodations. I wouldn't pay too much more, though, and actually changed hotels because I was not able to get that price for further nights. Pleasant neighborhood. Not terribly easy to find without my GPS.
Peaceful location away from main roads, close proximity for the casino. Breakfast area at times felt too small for size of hotel. At other times table would be cleared before sitting completed.
nothing, maybe with the exception of the location. we arrive late, ard midnight, the windows of the rooms were open, the air conditioning system was not working properly (too noisy) the bath room was dirty, an experience not to repeat at this hotel
price no heat - i was informed they turn on the heat beginning Novemebr
the staff was friendly and helpful. the hotel was clean and comfortable there was no bar!
The beds were comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was a bit crowded, and the selection was quite limited.
Nothing! The room was dirty. The balcony swam with wet from the air conditioning. This also dripped from the room above!! They changed the plug on the bath so the water wouldn't stay in, then denied it when asked! See above. Also the access was poor. Roads and "pavements" were dangerous. (understatement)
the room balkony Breakfeast could be better
Quiet. Facilities. Comfort.
everything breakfast too poor for the price 15€/person
quiet , decoration from appartement was very nice , a lot of space the furniture on the terrace , not comfortable enough
Very spacious rooms; staff were very helpful; the place looks fantastic and the pool is very well thought out for children Quality and range of food available was not good
Great hotel with terrific rooms. Well appointed
Excellent Hotel! We only can recommend it. Breakfast too expensive, but good.
It was very quiet. Maybe because out of season. The staff were very helpful when our car was causing problems. Thought thereshould be a restaurant in the evening if you didn't have a car but it forced us to eat out which was excellent.
Peaceful relaxing setting. Beautifully decorated reception area and rooms. Little bit too far away from cascais to walk, but could get a taxi for 5 euros
Hotel facilities, service, and overall quality of premises. I was a returning visitor and plan to return again in the future
Excellent service and facilities. In particular the spa and gym area. Nice gardens and very cleaned and well maintained rooms.
24 hour access, clean and good quality facilities, helpful service.
Good location, free parking, good breakfast with the budget.
The hotel is very clean and the staff very friendly. The lack or a swimming pool
We found this hotel very comfortable, good value for money and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. N/A
Good location for travellers by car to visit both Lisbon and Sintra part. Room was fresh, equiped with all we needed, friendly staff - any problems during stay.
New hotel, great accomodations, excelent price-quality. Friendly staff. Reasonable breakfast.
Cheap for its quality, clean, comfortable and well located if you go by car with a gps. The breakfast was a bit poor.
The staff are always pleasant and helpful and the rooms are clean and comfortable lack of staff meant long waits for the reception and bar
- the way the hotel staff welcomed me; - how the room looked like; - the services offered; - the Internet connection; I really liked. No, everything was just fine.
Very nice people, very nice place. The noise of the air conditioner
L'occitane products in bathroom. Very expensive for what you get!!! No good value for money. We got a room next to a road which was quite busy, even at nighttime. Kids were feeding ducks in the swimming pool at breakfast time. On pictures looks like a very quiet hotel.
The staff were all very kind and helpful and made us welcome. The views are beautiful. The golf course is very good. The Rocca restaurant food is excellent. We enjoyed the pianist's music in the evenings. There is a lot of building work going on in the vicinity of the hotel. The countryside is in danger of being lost. The former Cosi Fan Tutti Italian restaurant which was run by the hotel is much missed but we understand there are plans for a new one in the future.
We chose the location for a golf holiday, which would also allow us to visit Lisbon city. There is a nice golf course, and the you can also benefit from discounted rates on nearby courses (Oitavos, Penha Longa). Breakfast is very good and varied. Missing a casual restaurant for the evening. Internet access is quite expensive. Also, if your room is not in the same aisle as the spa, you have to go either outside or through the lobby to get to the indoor swimming pool (no access between aisles on level 1 and level 2).
Nice quiet hotel with excellent facilities Had to wait till 4.30pm to check in as room was not ready
Quiet and far from traffic. Pure nature, especially popular among golfers. Standard room and SPA too small. Every room service charged with +€ 7.50.
quality of rooms atmosphere in evenings; soulless
Facilities were excellent, room was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel charges extra for everything, water is 5 euro, internet is 10 euro per half hour. Everthing was extra and expensive.
The staff were very polite and friendly and were happy to help at all times. When we told them we had to leave early in the morning to catch a flight they offered to make us a complementary breakfast for us to take with us. No
All Good Yes,we are golfers and the course is sub standard, we would not come again.
Location, atmosphere Staff is borderline rude, not friendly.
The Hotel was very good, the room was quiet and comfortable, it was to the side, not overlooking the pool, The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was also good.
