The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the people were nice. The room was a comfortable size. Had plenty of room to move around in room. The only downfall that I had was, that the bathroom was to small.
Not too much to like here Be careful when booking this hotel with the intention of bringing your pet. First they charge you an additional $10/night in order to get a "pet friendly" room, then when you get there they charge you an additional $20/night for actually bringing your pet. So in essence, there is a $30/night fee for pets which is much higher than other hotels in the area. Not to mention the rooms are musty smelling and in spite of their claim that the hotel was recently renovated, the rooms are far from the nicest in town. Do yourself a favor and choose one of the newer hotels in the Gateway area of town, you'll be glad you did!
Everything the hot tub , the customer service was amazing , clean , comfortable beds Pool was cold , needs more washers and dryers
The room was clean and location was quiet. Walking distance to most University buildings and venues. The room was dark with not a lot of natural light. Bathroom countertop space was limited. We had 2 queen beds and there was not a lot of space between beds and cabinets. But everything I needed for a great weekend!
It's location was great The room was cramped and the fridge did not work
A nice and clean place that was very nice for the price range. The shower never got "super hot".
Love the idea of a motor lodge that gives five star service.
the beds were very comfortable. the room more spacious than the pictures represented. excellent downtown location easily walkable to shops and restaurants. although very clean, the hotel could use a face lift. not a luxury hotel, but a good bargain for a last minute booking
The room was spacious. The name of the motel probably tells you but I wanted to emphasize that it's a very nice looking "wooodsy" motel decor. The exterior is made of painted cedar boards and a massive beam look;, the 2nd floor rooms have vaullted ceilings constructed of exposed beams holding an exposed and good-looking cedar board roof deck-ceiling. The floors are finished oak. The overall feeling is very nice. We had a king-sized bed, and it was comfortable, It advertises free breakfast -- which turns out to be a rather Spartan like affair, mostly a continental breakfast snack.
Love the wood floors loved the size of the room and great location Heater didn't work right breakfast is yuk
The Timbers has a good location in downtown Eugene, parking, and a room that are nicer than you might expect. You would guess that it will be another cookie-cutter hotel room, but it actually had some character. We stayed on New Year's Eve, and there were some people partying directly above us that night. I don't fault the hotel much for this, but it was still annoying.
Beautifully renovated interior with mostly new furnishings and decor. Lock was not the safest on the door; it was the original lock and only locked partially on some settings. Free hbo channel. Could be $10-$20 cheaper for the location and size but for a just passing thru stay it was perfect. Location, door lock, price ( but it was far cheaper than the other liveable motel/hotel options). Watch billing- orbitz told me 1 night and the motel 3 nights- they fixed it but just double check to be safe!
We stayed one night at the Timbers and it was just fine. It's an older motel but located very close to campus. The room was comfortable and clean.
I liked the cleanliness, the ambiance, the exquisite taste in decorating, the all wooden floors, and the great attitude of the desk personnel!!! A plus for this unnasuming motel in Eugene!!! It is a little gem in a sea of crappy motels! Thank-you Timbers!!! There was nothing at all that I didn't like! Excellent value for your money!!
Price points are pretty good for long term stay, and they will work with you if you find a cheaper price online. Parking is one car per room, and that's no joke! Their parking lot is tiny and awkward if you drive a larger vehicle.
Breakfast was over as early as 930 when I went down to eat. Loud heater-/air. Load rattling bathroom fan. Dingy blankets that are years old.
Location to the University Blow dryer broken and front desk didn't have a hand held one. Phone completely dead. Thin walls, need earplugs.
I've stayed here on many occasions when visiting family and friends in Eugene and have always had a good stay. No frills for this little hotel, but it's clean, in a good area, the staff is friendly and they have breakfast. The water pressure in the showers is always low.
We locked up our bikes. By morning someone had cut our chain and stole my husband 1,000 mountain bike. Will NEVER stay here again. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Water pressure in shower and sink was horrible. The bed was so uncomfortable u could literally feel the springs. I'm still recovering from the mattress. Not to mention I could hear everything. The front desk seemed rude didn't tell us about breakfast or anything.
Just as pleasant as expected! Everything was great!
We like the breakfast, and the people we're fairly nice until checkout time when a man pretends to listen to you check out while reading a paper. We also like the fact that it is across from Whole Foods. Didn't like leaf blowers at 9am.
Hot tub was out of operation and appeared to have been that way for a while. The bath tub drain was clogged thus the water pooled up while taking a shower. Stains on carpet and chairs. Over all cheap feel to rooms.
Clean, simple, quiet, good location for what we needed. Just staying the night after an event at U of O, it was perfect.
The staff was very friendly and helpful Great location Did not get the sense of clean. The mattress was broken kept falling into the middle my back and neck hurt in the morning. Needs a total remodel.
We always stay at Campus Inn when we pass thru Eugene. This was at least our 4th time. Service is good, the rooms are clean (well, this time our room had an older bath and the shower/tub showed some age), there's a Continental breakfast, restaurants within walking distance, and now we've discovered the Ruth Bascom walking/biking path just three blocks away. And there's a Whole Foods being constructed a block away. We'll definitely stay again.
The whole place was nice and clean and very cute! The rooms were modern and the staff friendly. The location was near many restraunts and activities. Also, the location was an easy commute to the interstate making it easy to get around the local area as I traveled around daily. This place seemed to attract a younger and unfortunately a louder crowd. I experienced next door neighbors that were incredibly loud and carrying on into the early morning hours. Nobody wants to be kept awake all night or have to confront rowdy neighbors! Also the fitness center left something to be desired. It was outdated and tiny. It would be fairly unmaneuverable if there were more than 2 people in there.
Very convenient to downtown, once Whole Foods opens across the street, it will be even better!!!
Proximity to downtown. Affordable rates.
Room was clean and welcoming. Has mini fridge, large not small box. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and new looking. Carpet is older and stained but you don't go to a place for the carpet. Wish smokers weren't smoking just outside their rooms but I guess that can't be helped :P
The staff was great! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great downtown location. I will stay there again! Parking could be a challenge. Construction on the road was a bit of a pain, but nothing Downtown Inn can do about that!
Easy to get just about anywhere. Clean and a friendly staff Seemed a bit pricy for the amenities

The staff was great and we loved the free breakfast, fridge in the room and free private internet! The alarm clock went off and we couldn't shut it off so staff may want to check that when guests leave. It ruined my sleep. the sink was plugged up in the bathroom.
somewhat surprised, although definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel, it was a decent price for the value and location. i visit Eugene one every 3 or 4 years so i will consider this as one of my first choices when i return.
overpriced for eugene oregon
Good location, spacious room and bathroom. Good tv and wifi. No, everything met my expectations
The price is perfect. I was not expecting a 5 star hotel but this hotel far exceeded my expectations. I was impressed with how clean the room was and how comfortable the bed was. I would definitely stay there again.
Price Staff rude and unfriendly
The staff was amazing! It smelled musty in the room.

nothing motel looked great on the outside but the inside was very small and outdated. A real small area for parking cars.
For an older motel, it was clean and well taken care of. The heater in my room was either on or off. The temperature control did not work. The room got very hot over night.
I liked that the property was well maintained.
Clean and good smelling rooms, nice breakfast in the morning. Make sure to get to it early as it was almost gone by 9:00.
The family running the motel was very kind. The room was clean. Very tiny room, no coffee pot, bad water pressure, sink clogged, no washcloths, not enough blankets on bed. Motel is crammed between two very busy major streets--quite noisy. The website says they offer accommodations for pets: blanket, food/water bowls, treats, etc. When I asked about this at the office they said they've never heard of that and offer no such thing. The $20/night pet fee seemed a bit steep as well. The breakfast offered consists of white bread, raisin bran, fruit loops, waffles, orange juice, coffee tea. Better than nothing I suppose? Wifi was slow/not working.
Overall cleanliness was bad. Gas was stolen from my car. Not cool. I probably should have brought my own linens The kitchenette was nice but worthless for me. TV had more channels than most.
It was in an easy to find location, we checked in late at night and the hotel was full but there was still easy to find parking. Stayed in a non smoking room that had definitely been smoked in. Air conditioning was blocked by furniture so it took a long time to cool down. Worst thing was finding a bug in my bed in the morning when I woke up. Needless to say we left quickly after that.
The location was pretty good, close to restaurants and easy access to main drags. The folks at the counter (the owners?) were nice. Fridge in room was convenient. Tv worked fine. Water for the shower was either boiling or freezing (no in-between; weird). The shower stall itself was grouted with black grout (on white tiles) which made it look like mold was everywhere. The AC was VERY loud (on the other hand, it was so loud, we couldn't hear the nearby busy street -- silver lining...?). The place itself needed some renovating (everything seemed dated).
This hotel is within easy walking access of some great dining. The food at breakfast is extremely limited and all carbs.
Staff was friend, breakfast waffel was good. Bit noise
Wood floors in room, good shower/hot water and the fan in the bathroom actually worked. I appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room. The pillows were nice. The staff was friendly. The internet, while free, was difficult to hook up to. It worked on my phone but not my ipad, which is where I really needed it to work. There was a sour water smell in the room but the room appeared very clean. I think it was from the bath mat, but I'm not sure. Definitely a lot of road noise at this location in the morning. A lot of streets are one-way in Eugene so if you're unfamiliar with the area, be very careful. I nearly died twice LOL. The one-way signs are hard to see, I swear! Haha
It was clean and cheap The WiFi didn't work and there were sirens all night. I was scared to leave my car out of sight.
But you get what you pay for. The room was clean and reasonably comfortable. I would stay here again. A few small upgrades would go a long way in improving customer experiences though.
I could bring my little doggie. Dirty room and felt unsafe with creepy people walking around outside. Curtains had many holes, tub was cracked, cracked ceiling, towel bar bent, no coffee maker, cruddy sheets and I've NEVER experienced toilet paper of a lesser quality in my life!
The hotel was close to everything and accommodated my late check in. For the price I would definitely stay again The bathroom was a little dingy but clean. The wi fi was extremely slow
Rooms were fine, staff nice. They charge for Internet despite the giant sign blinking "wifi here". I suppose it's not dishonest but certainly disingenuous.
The hotel was nothing fancy, but the staff were very pleasant and helpful, I was very impressed by them. Having the Denny's right next door was great for a nice breakfast before hitting the road. Our room had a vague musty sort of smell to it, but it was a decent place to stay for a night.
Amanda Waugh, the front desk agent, tried her best to accommodate us. She was very friendly as were the housekeeping staff we encountered. It was located next to a Denny's in which I received a discount off my food. The room we were checked into previously had a pet in it and I am extremely allergic. I could not spend five minutes in there. There were bugs on the bedding as well. After finally getting a new room, this one didn't have the fridge and microwave that I'd paid for. The pool ended up being closed for maintenance. The shower was designed to make it impossible to NOT flood the floor. For all the inconvenience I experienced, I wasn't offered a discount. I will never stay there again.
Decent, clean rooms, good TVs and channel selection, and courteous and attentive staff. It didn't feel at all safe, although I was told by staff this was a strange night. I checked in and went to my room, and everything was fine. Then, around 10:30pm, it felt/sounded like something large and heavy had been thrown against the wall joining my room to the one next door. This occurred every 5-10 minutes until I finally called the office around midnight. The girl in the office said she would call the room and ask them to quiet down (not the best option, in my opinion...). Maybe 20 minutes went by before it happened again. Then 5 minutes later. Then it was quiet... and then at nearly 1:00am, there was a crash like an adult throwing himself against the adjoining wall full force. I went to the office and ended up moving to another room... at 1:15 in the morning. Finally got to sleep in the new room... only to be woken up at 4:00am by someone KNOCKIMG ON THE DOOR. I don't know anyone in Eugene, and yet someone was knocking on the door repeatedly and pleading to be allowed inside. At 4:00am. I called the office and informed them of the issue, and it quieted after a few minutes, but I got MAYBE 3 hours of sleep that night. To her credit, though, the manager on duty, Linda, said she would refund my stay when she heard of my difficulties. I'd booked through Expedia, though, who did refund the stay after confirming with Linda. But I won't soon forget that stay... and I won't be back to the Eugene South Motel 6.
Didn't have our room cleaned and ready to be checked into until an hour after check in time. No shampoo. Not so great.
I was scheduled for a medical procedure at a nearby hospital. So this facility worked out perfectly. I couldn't partake of the continental breakfast but my wife did and i took some for later. For the price the accommodations were great and the room was laid out in a comfortable manner. We definitely would not have any reservations about staying here again (maybe just to get some time to ourselves). Various restaurants abound within blocks of this location (Denny's, Sharies, Mexican, Asian and McDonald's for those on a budget.)
Check in was easy and efficient. Also appreciated that the very modest breakfast offerings were left out after 9:00am I had a strange meeting schedule that required my to be out early and returning briefly after the stated breakfast hours). The bananas were nice and not too ripe. Smelled like cigarettes even though a non-smoking facility and generally appeared worn and of lackluster care.
Great location! Front desk seemed a little overwhelmed in the morning. One woman trying her best to help 5-6 people
Easy access from the freeway and located in amongst all sorts of dining selections. We were there for a medical appointment and they made accommodations for my daughters baby. Nice friendly helpful staff. Will stay there again but will request a larger room. Our room was very small but we did notice that larger rooms were available
Nice room decor. I checked in at late in a very cold evening. For security there is an outside "walk up" window. The two female employees inside were debating on which room to assign me, while I waited out in the cold. Then I was told they had to call "AJ" to see if they could allow my service animal to stay in a handicap room. Yes, can you believe that? Doesn't make sense. One of the women agreed to let me into the lobby while they consulted with the manager on the phone to decide if they were going to charge an extra $15. Apparently they have never learn about ADA laws. They were both extremely rude and were complaining about the management while I stood there. I was assigned to a room upstairs and it was very cold. After an hour, I realized the heater wasn't working to warm the room, so I slept with my fleece jacket on. I didn't bother to ask for assistance or a room change because I was tired and didn't want to deal with the two ladies in the office .
Village Inn provided clean accommodations. Some of the people the apartments attract caused quite a ruckus the night we stayed there. We don't plan on staying there again.
The rooms were quiet, bed was comfortable and the hotel was centrally located. The shower head was needle-y and both of us had to squat to get our shampooed heads underneath it.
