7.0 Good
Pros: Good. Need a good sign to display the location of the Inn. plus the room are not sound proof, need insulation to minimize disturb from other guess noise. Plus you need elevator for sick guess or down stair room.
Cons: I have notice on the top what you need to do for better service for your business. Above all thank you God Bless
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Central location close to shops, markets and a few restaurants, great breakfasts, air conditioning, helpful staff, indoor lounge and outdoor deck to relax on
Cons: Room was dark with only small window, only one wifi voucher per day (two of us staying in room)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hosptaility and welcoming staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent, friendly and efficient. Cleanliness - I have travelled all over the world and stayed in accommodation from 1 star to 5 star. This is one of the cleanest i have stayed in. Good location.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We rented 2 rooms for a week and everyone had a great time. They had a fabulous breakfast and the Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean which is a must for me. Would stay there again.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location really suited me The staff were always very helpful and accommodating
Cons: on the internet the rooms looked a good size, in reality it was smaller than I expected, I would have preferred a bigger sizethe staff
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - excellent location, right in the centre of Apia, within short walking distance to everything - bed was very comfortable - private bathroom setup is weird but the bathroom itself is nice and clean - clean
Cons: there is a door communicating between the room and the next room. although that door is locked, it is absolutely not soundproof therefore I could hear some guy in the next room snorting all night and their loud TV in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Services
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Pretty central in Apia, which is within walking distance of most places. Staff were helpful - I left early to go diving one morning and they gave me breakfast as takeaway.
Cons: If you have a room facing the street, you do get traffic and other noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice central cool room. Could have stayed longer but flew out next morning. Very helpfull staff. Gave us breakfast at 5.30 in the morning.

8.9 Excellent (143 reviews)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are superb, loved the outdoor showers! The little peace of beach and the salt water pool are simply gorgeous. The staff was outstanding!
Cons: It’s a little far away from other points of interest, and the road is a bit hard to drive through with a small car, but perfectly doable. Just drive with enough time and patience. The place is so amazing that there’s no many reasons to leave so often!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property is located in a beautiful setting. Although 5.5km potholed track is not easy to negotiate, but the place itself would reward that. The location is perfect for a nature lover. The vegetation on the property is very nice and well maintained. The lava pool is awesome and very different from the pools that you normally see in resorts. The staff is extremely helpful, owners employ local people from local villages and they are extremely friendly. We have tried almost all meals from their menu and virtually all were outstanding. Outside shower, walled with a lava stones is amazing. Perfect place for snorkelling - reef is very close to the shore and full of fish and other sea creatures.
Cons: How my payment was handled. As I understand this is an issue between booking.com and the owners. They charge in local currency (WST), but on a booking.com website it is converted in USD and then into NZD (my local currency). There was no option to pay in cash in local currency for the stay which would have saved me about 150 NZD of exchange rate costs and bank costs (3.5% of credit card charge). Consider adding some more chairs or sofas into the bungalow as few of us did not have places to sit in the evening (there were 6 of us in total in one Family bungalow).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Large house with a beautiful view
Cons: I had some attitude from restaurant one staff but I stemming from a misunderstanding and I think rest of staff were lovely and kind and accommodating
6.3 Good
Pros: We liked the convenience of complementary breakfast, the cool breeze & the relaxed atmosphere
Cons: We were expecting AC. Food was a bit pricey. We had daily room cleaning but necessities weren’t restocked as it was cleanEd. We constantly had to ask for toilet paper, there were 6 of us
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, new bungalows with ceiling fan. Outdoor bathroom. Last 4 km unceiled road, 4wd would be good or really slow driving with a normal car.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: What a gentle and friendly staff. Great holiday with our family. Snorkeling right on the beach, relaxed and genuine atmosphere. Highly recommended for people who want to experience the true Samoan vibe.
7.0 Good
Pros: Amazing setting with ocean views, comfortable sun beds, beautiful infinity pool, and lovely, spacious room. We loved the outside bathroom and ocean view from the room. They also give out free drinking water whenever you need it which was a huge blessing. We loved our lazy days in the grounds reading and snoozing. The photos don’t do justice to how lovely the surroundings are.
Cons: The reception room (also acts as a breakfast room, library, pool room, and bar) is a bad first impression as it’s very dingy, and we had to wait for a while for a receptionist to appear while wearing heavy backpacks on our backs, despite her seeing us enter the building. In fact, the staff in general were lacking and really brought down the feel of the place. None of them seemed to know how things worked and would always have to ask multiple other people before answering a simple question. On our last night we wanted to pay our tab but were told be had to wait till the next day, when the only person that could take payments was there. When the next day arrived someone interrupted us in the middle of our breakfast to tell us we had to pay then because the payment lady had to go out and was waiting for us. On the second day of our stay I was beckoned by one of the cleaners and told she couldn’t clean our room that day because she was too busy. These things are all forgivable - I’m not a complete snob - but taken in the context of what is apparently a 4 star accommodation for which we were paying nearly £90 a night, I really think they could have pulled their fingers out. Every interaction felt like a chore, and that’s not the way it should be when you’re in a relatively nice resort. There was just no atmosphere of service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and proximity to beach
Cons: The limited vegetarian options and good roasted coffee.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is stunning. But the sea here is NOT suitable for children. I’m a very strong swimmer but the currents were significant. Not safe for kids on beach without arm length supervision.
Cons: Breakfasts were very meagre. They put out the bare minimum which often means no eggs.... or no fruit .... if you wait long enough more appears. A few spoon fulls at a time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful natural setting. The limited number of guests made it private and uncrowded which we liked. Staff were friendly and always helpful. Food was great!

Pros: Loved being near Apia and able to explore the town and restaurants; good coffee in cafe downstairs.
Cons: Not in a scenic location, but near town and reflected in price.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly. I didn't have time to taste the breakfast but the menu looked amazing. It looked very busy as well :) And apparently they make the best coffee.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean tidy and friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Car parking and very noisey at night (next door) and just foot traffic or dogs fighting etc but overall great stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, good sized room with very comfortable beds. While breakfast not included (great café downstairs and recommended as one of the best spots to get coffee in town). Perfect for event at Apia Park as right across the road. Wifi is also super fast.
Cons: Close to but not in town (if that is your preference) but definitely walkable and a short/cheap cab ride away. Internet while fast, you do have to pay for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were so comfy and the swimming pool was amazing to cool off in while it was hot. Lovely spacious room and really friendly staff at reception :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The tranquillity of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. The cleanliness, we felt safe and secure. The staff made you feel like you were top clients with their first class service. My whole family didn't want to leave Samoana Boutique Hotel due to the immaculate facilities, amazing customer service and wonderful food served at the cafe there which my family frequented everyday they were there.
Cons: Would have preferred an earlier check in but we really appreciated the half and hour early check in that was given to us.
7.5 Good
Pros: The stuff are nice and helpful Rooms are big Microwave + Small kitchen
Cons: Check in was unprofessional Little out of down town Wifi if for a fee The (spoons + cubs + glass + dishes) dirty !!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment which was perfect for our family. It was well located being right next door to reception. The interior is very modern with all the facilities and amenities you need. I was very surprised to find both an aircon unit and fan in each bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location just opposite the sporting grounds of Apia Park. 5-10 minute taxi ride to the center of town. It has a small cafe which serves good coffee and breakfast until 1pm. Nice pool, which is great given the climate! All rooms are clean and modern with air conditioning. Security seems good.
Cons: No dinner options at the hotel - although there are 3 restaurants in easy walking distance, and others a short taxi ride away.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the resort- amazing beach, pool and relaxing vibe! Good restaurant food and loved the rock pool bar :) All the staff were amazing with our young son Jackson- he will miss Samoa!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We traveled with a large group for birthday celebrations and the staff pulled out all the stops for us. Amazing care went into catering for our group and the birthday dinner was amazing. Highly recommended for groups as the accommodation caters for everyone.
Cons: A little more information on local church service for guests so they know what to expect when they go. Especially about how the tithe works.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the room. We were upgraded to a beach suite so was lovely
Cons: I felt pressured all the time to spend money at the resort on drinks, food and tours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great family operated, fully Samoan owned and we felt like part of their big family.
Cons: Nothing to not like about thus resort
10.0 Excellent
Pros: THE most beautiful beach with snorkeling, multiple pools to use, and the all day food availability is important given its isolation (unless you have a car). Beautiful, upscale facility. The giant clam reserve is a 10 min drive away (at Savaia). The cocktails are generous! Water is rough on beach, so not a calm beach, just fyi. Didn't see shows but could tell they were a huge hit!
Cons: Tours were pricey where one could just as easily self-cater with a car and one's own snorkeling equipment. Eg, it would have been 10 Tala pp to go to clam reserve on own - paying at Savaia beach - while the resort's inclusive tour is 100 Tala pp. Of course, the tour is guided so helps you find the clams in the reserve + tracks down a sea turtle if they can. Overall it is best to bring one's own snorkling equipment to Samoa as the ones on loan or hire are not great quality and not kid's sizes. The resort reserved its best equipment (including kids' sizes) for paid tours rather than general use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The extremely friendly and welcoming staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is really the paradise. Beach and location are gorgeous. Highly recommended. We stayed in 4 different hotels during our week in Samoa but next time when we will go to Samoa we will stay only at this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beach/snorkelling at your door step. Fantastic rock bar for happy hour and bar meals/snack. Great staff and great location for access to sites
Cons: nothing to dislike
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Continental breakfasts were good value. Location was great and staff exceptionally friendly.
Cons: A lot of broken glass washing up on the beach. Not resorts fault but needs to be collected daily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and great food at reasonable price
Cons: Nothing

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a library. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic spot, a few more healthy food options would have been great. But we will return either-way.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: everything you would expect from a holiday in the South Pacific. white beach, most wonderful traditional architecture, very friendly staff, good food. very serene and relaxing.
Cons: WiFi did not work but cost a lot. it is far better to buy a local Sim card. It is Samoa after all, so service is very friendly, but not „rushed“ and not always on point. There was not a single meal where we got exactly what we ordered :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly from the heart, the resort was designed to operate between guests and staff as a large family, and this they have truly achieved. With only 26 rooms this is a perfect number, as the resort feels uncrowded, and unrushed. Facilities were more than adequate for all guests. The menu was extensive and food was excellent. The lagoon and beach were the best in Samoa.
Cons: There were some minor points but nothing of any significance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beach and mangrove lagoon a short paddle away. Swim with turtles in the mornings straight off the front of games. Treetops room was beautiful with wonderful views.
Cons: Great spot but very expensive for basic meals and breakfast included was severely rationed. Had to get refund for WiFi as is was almost non existent. Not close to a by attractions so needed a car.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location of the resort was fantastic. I also liked all of the included water sport activities on offer
Cons: When it rained our room leaked water into the bathroom. The staff where always too busy talking with one another, than looked after the guests. The resort is called “coconuts beach club” yet over the entire 7 days I stayed at the property, they had no coconuts ....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the resort is paradise. Over water bungalows were amazing with turtles and fish passing by. The food was always delicious. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the rooms proximity to the lagoon was excellent.
Cons: The menu was too big and diverse, to be all things to all people which let the food down. It would be better to have a more focused menu to specialize in the best that Samoa can offer with a few extra items, if people don't like this.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people at coconuts are what make the time so good. Caring, friendly and very lovely people, that's what made it for us
Cons: Wifi is oft, that's all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in an over water fale which provided us with outstanding views. Each day we would sit on the deck and watch turtles cruising by. The staff were super friendly and remembered little details about us that made us feel truly welcomed
Cons: Wish we could have stayed longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the huge king size bed and so comfortable.
Cons: We did get some flooding in our room, but it did rain very heavy.
Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa - Apia - Building

8.8 Excellent (157 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Siumu, Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa is on the waterfront, within a 15-minute drive of Papapapaitai Falls and Togitogiga Waterfall. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. This resort has 3 meeting rooms available for events. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms good
Cons: Need Squab on our door lounges. Need more lighting for paths at night . Need better selection of sleeping pillows thin soft hard high etc
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous accomodation, beautiful grounds and very tidy, staff couldn’t do enough for you and the fia fia show was wonderful! Highly recommend.
Cons: Fairly expensive but for a short stay well worth it!
7.5 Good
Pros: Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Napa at the bar and Ciala at the restaurant made us feel very at home. The location and grounds were quite beautiful, and the facilities were very well looked after. We were able to rent a car right at the resort, and Michael made that experience very enjoyable.
Cons: Our transfer was not waiting for us at the airport, which was frustrating at 9:00 pm. About half the time a number of options ran out at dinner, and once only pizza was available. Our 15 minute welcome massage could not be scheduled until our second to last day,
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful especially as my husband has a disability.
Cons: Some infrastructure needs attention e.g. the path to the over the water restaraunt
4.3 Okay
Pros: The water sports (kayak, paddle boarding). There was one amazing chef but he obviously couldn’t work all the time.
Cons: Breakfast was less than average. The fact they advertise a gym, but they go rid of the gym. Spa was broken so couldn’t use. How slow and inefficient the workers are.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sinalei had me at “adults only”. But it was so much more than I ever expected. The little details + the staff were what made Sinalei so perfect. We stayed in a Garden View Villa, which was nice. Obviously an Ocean View or Beachfront Villa would have been ideal, but the Garden View was still absolutely perfect and more in line with our budget. One of my biggest worries, and usually my greatest disappointments at a hotel is the bed. But not at Sinalei! The bed in our room was so cosy and comfortable, and the pillows were pretty good too. I actually woke up each morning feeling rested and relaxed. The air conditioning helped, and meant that we could actually get a comfortable nights sleep. Our favourite things about Sinalei were; - The super friendly staff (Jerome and Napa in particular) - The standalone villas which were lovely and private - The beautiful resort grounds - The glass roof in our bathroom so you could admire the palms and blue skies while you showered - The spa & the massages over-looking the ocean - The cultural night (the Umu food was delicious!) - The beautiful beaches - Cocktails by the pool - The complimentary afternoon tea that they put on each day - Their house-made breads and baking - And of course I can't forget the lovely dinner set up that they arranged for us for our anniversary - so thoughtful and absolutely beautiful. The whole resort was absolutely perfect! And you can’t fault them for how quickly they made you feel like you were home. I would 100% recommend Sinalei, and Samoa, to anyone. We will absolutely be back!
Cons: I’m not 100% sure who is responsible for payments etc. whether it is booking.com or the resort itself, but I was really disappointed that I ended up being charged an extra $300 - $400 more than our room was listed for on booking.com for some unknown reason. And when I tried to get in touch with the resort to resolve it, they came back to me with a breakdown of what I can only assume was someone else’s room, because it didn’t make any sense for us, and when I went back to them again and said that it looked like someone else’s bill, no one got back to me.
So that was very frustrating, being charged more than the advertised price for our room. That would be the only thing that would make me think twice about booking with Sinalei again. We also found that it was really difficult to get accurate information out of the staff. For example, we were told to be at reception at 6.30am to leave for a tour one morning, but when we arrived (early) no one was there. We hung around for about half an hour to see if anyone would show up, before we eventually just gave up and went back to our room. That was incredibly disappointing, as I was really looking forward to that tour. Breakfast was quite nice. If they could work out a better way to keep the flies off though, that would make everything a bit more appetizing. We also found trying to toast bread very frustrating as the toaster was very slow, and there was only one of them. Obviously some parts could do with a small amount of maintenance as well, but you do have to remember that you are in Samoa, and things are a little different over there, to say, somewhere like New Zealand or Australia.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was exceptional in terms of facilities, rooms, customer service. Easy walk down to private beach which has lounge beds and kayaks free for guests. Large private pool right next to the bar. Two restaurants (but same menu). Great buffet breakfast. Easy to hire a car or scooter (you don't even need an international license). About 40 mins drive to To Sua Ocean Trench, with a couple of waterfalls along that drive and beaches beyond it. About a 45 minute drive up to Apia too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the layout of the rooms they were so private and no-one walking past, was well thought out. The staff were fantastic as well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Garden villa was great - very comfy bed, peaceful, great bathroom, good facilities. Breakfasts were awesome (one of the best included breakfasts we've had!). Staff were friendly. No kids allowed so that's a bonus if you want peace and quiet!
Cons: Didn't love the dinner menu - for meat dishes had to choose a two or three course option. Also no other menus available for dinner - like a simple bar snacks menu. Beach wasn't great for snorkelling straight out from resort (so wouldn't pick this resort for snorkelling).
6.3 Good
Cons: No water in the shower on our last night.
Taumeasina Island Resort - Apia - Building
7
8.7 Excellent (213 reviews)
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, modern
Cons: Food substandard yet pricey. For the price paid the facility should be more exclusive to paying visitors
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place is absolutely stunning, food was incredible, facilities are great, location is amazing! Couldn’t say enough good things about it. 100% THE place to stay on the island!
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Overall great location and facilities - operational staff are great, friendly and very helpful. So proud of the local Samoan people they are awesome. Family villas are great - defs need more family rooms available at the Taumeasina
Cons: Need a better process for conversion rates upon arrival esp with booking.com my experience was a nightmare. Tom was amazing and very helpful with it all. Need more consistency with on arrival greeting as well :)
4.5 Okay
Pros: The resort looks very stylish and modern
Cons: The cleaning of the rooms wasn't up to standard. It was hard to relax around the pool with too many children running and screaming jumping into the water- please don't get me wrong I love children having fun but this was a little OTT. We also had a few problems with our room. smashed glass on our bathroom floor that hadn't been cleaned up properly from a broken shower screen, wardrobe door was off it's track and jammed my suitcase behind it overnight so I couldn't access any of my stuff. We report the issues at 5pm on arrival but didn't see any action with work men until 10am the next day.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms clean, bed comfy with duvet covers, clean bathrooms!
Cons: Stayed in two different types of room - standard and villa. They all had a musty smell but given the climate here, it’s somewhat understandable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly. Great food and entertainment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the staff, food and entertainment it was amazing!
Cons: There was nothing that I did not like about the property.
6.8 Good
Cons: The noise from the bar which goes on till 11pm Wednesday through to Sunday night. We were there for two nights and after the first night I complained about the noise. We had paid a lot of money to stay at the resort and unfortunately it didn't match our needs as it's quite a lively resort and we were looking for something a little more peaceful. The second night they also had a concert on the gardens. The hotel itself is lovely but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place, then this resort is definitely not for you. The manager, I think her name was Lizzy, was awesome! She offered to move us and when we said we would stay for the second night as we had concerns over where she wanted to move us to, she gave us a substantial discount on our room which we really appreciated.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food was great, pool was awesome. Island night was fantastic. Overall stay was fantastic.
Cons: Staff weren’t friendly, always felt like you had to watch your back as they were ripping people off left, right and centre especially at the wedding we attended. My partner can understand Samoan, when I went up to pay for breakfast my partner heard the staff talking to each other and saying to add $30 onto our bill. Assuming for this money to be pocketed. Our rooms were also not serviced. We were keen to extend our stay using the three day July deal that was going on to then be told that the best thing for us to do is email the general manager. Why the heck would we email the general manager when we are at the damn counter ready to book in. Friends of ours who also asked about the deal were told they could have extend their stay using the deal only to be told within 5 minutes that there was no availability. Everyone that we know who stayed at the resort had a bad experience.

Pros: Owners and staff extremely helpful. Rooms comfortable and clean. Very quiet. Small hotel but good to get away from busy resorts.
Cons: My partner had been unwell and found it hard to get in and out of pool without a rail but staff went above and beyond the call of duty by helping him in and out. They are in the process of getting a hand rail.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Always great place to stay
Cons: Found the service a bit slow this time with the staff not as good Had to chase them for service especially around the pool
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was probably the nicest hotel I've ever booked. I was expecting a nice, business-class hotel with way access to attractions. Pleasant surprise to discover it's a resort in it's open right, even without beach access, and the staff was very accommodating.
Cons: There was a minor maintenance issue with the bath tub in the first night, but they sent someone by and cleared it right up.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Substantial buffet breakfast, bungalow rooms are lovely, beautiful hotel all round
Cons: Reception staff probably need a bit more training. The rooms in the main building are no good, the carpet is old and you can still smell the mould from when the hotel flooded. I would only stay in the bungalows.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - Location was great, walking distance to the shop and the best fresh bread ever!! - Staff were awesome, friendly and helpful - Rooms were comfortable and the bed was like a cloud - breakfast was good, coffee and eggs were the best and so much selection
Cons: - Strong smell in the hallways, smelt like varnish good thing is it was only in the hallways and not in the rooms. - We did have a small issue one morning with a small mouse in the room but the staff dealt with it right away, we left for a couple days to Savai’i and came back to a lovely bowl of fruits

Pros: Friendly staff great swimming pool Lovely air conditioned bar and cafe area Good location for business in Apia
Cons: The room I had was a long way from reception the tiles are very slippery when it rains - Staff need to put down more non slip mats to ensure all guests can reach their rooms safely Some type of entertainment -e.g singers -on weekends would be good for travellers

Pros: Super comfy beds, awesome breakfast menu and we just got married and got our room with a champaign waiting in the room! Thanks

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was super at this place. The staff were all wonderful, friendly and helpful. They organise taxis and get in touch with a car hire company who bring the car to the hotel. The room was really spacious and well equipped with views over the sea. We enjoyed the location in Apia where we could walk to the town. The food and restaurant were very good with many local people turning up to dine. Surroundings and ambience were also very relaxing and pleasant. We would definitely have no hesitation in returning.
Cons: We would have liked some easy chairs in the restaurant area where we could sit and enjoy a drink.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, and handy to town. Tropical breakfast was a nice touch.
Cons: Wifi - sometimes tricky connecting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, especially your female staff member who is pregnant (sorry, I didn't get her name) room, pool & facilities are always clean & the Fijian female room attendant was really helpful too. Overall, we had a great stay & I would recommend Amanaki to anyone - this is the second time we've stayed with you & we'll definitely be back. Keep up the great work....malo lava le taumafai ma le fa'amalosi :)
Cons: Everything was great :)

Pros: An absolutely stunning place! Beautiful views, friendly staff and clean and tidy! We are a vegan family of four and they were so respectful and happy to accommodate us. We were served vegan breakfast and dinners and were able to keep some of our own vegan food in their fridge. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back next time we are in Sāmoa xx
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The area it was amazingm you can do snorkeling and see a lot of beautiful fishes around.
6.8 Good
Pros: I picked up a pre-arranged Budget-hire vehicle in Apia during a holiday in Samoa with my grand-niece. We drove to Matareva Beach Fales. The accommodation is about 5ks down a white sandy wide track off the main southern coastal road an hour's drive from Apia. Unfortunately I was unwell, so I wasn't in a healthy state (sore throat, ailing voice which was fast leading to me being bedridden except for some serious medical intervention). The Matareva staff were immediately understanding and sympathetic when, after a couple of hours spent resting in our modest fale with air-con that I chose to check out. I made arrangements for alternative accommodation back in Apia. Honestly, it blew me away when I was offered a full night's refund by Matareva staff during check out! Totally unexpected. Thank you.
Cons: Poor cell-phone reception. The detergent smell was just over-powering.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was stunning and friendly staff made every effort to accommodate our needs
Cons: Mosquito nets proved inadequate against bites for our 2 yo and bathroom facilities, though enough for us, would be more practical for a toddler if a change table and non slip tiles were installed.
7.5 Good
Pros: - location itself is amazing, Matareva beach is just a heavenly location, your perfect postcard-like tropical island vibe - food was decent. included meals are alright, nothing more, but I liked the food from the lunch restaurant, and it is relatively unexpensive with good portions - shared facilities were overall rather clean - cute little pets roaming around (2 cats 1 piglet)
Cons: - LOTS of mosquitos, everywhere, all the time. and flies. not the case in another fale place I stayed at. - nothing to rinse feet at my fale - the 3-km road leading to the resort is horrible, potholes and rocks all the way, prepare for a bumpy ride - and you have to pay 20 tala the first time you use it!! - no free wifi, you can purchase 500MB for 15 tala, and you can only use this near the reception (then it works well). I understand Samoa is a challenging place for telecomunications but honestly, given I had signal even at some point on the road, I feel like this is just a way to charge more. Wifi should just be the norm. - given the above and given the shared facilities are nothing special, I find the price to be rather on the high side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything has been perfect!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing host who was wonderful. Also cooked a great and varied breakfast each morning. Beautiful views and room had everything needed. Very Pacific style accommodation that I just loved set in tranquil settings.
Cons: Be aware while only few metres away, toilet isn't in room - nor is the shower (beautiful outdoor shower but only cold which isn't usually an issue in Samoa). Also no wifi but again great to switch off from it as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the view to town and the ocean. the best place ever. They heve a wonderfull grand piano that need to be repaired, it is a pitty that it doasn´t work. they could organise conerts or shows using it. Also the place where it is located is a great hall and balcony able to recive many guests where thy actually organice also partys like weddingpartys.
Cons: the best place ever.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location in the hills on the outskirts of Apia was still close enough to enable us to walk into Apia in less than half an hour, or catch a cab easily for about 4 Tala. The gentleman who looked after us at breakfast each morning was very welcoming and attentive. The views over Apia and surrounding districts were lovely. Staying at a property owned by a local family provided a different experience to being at a hotel or backpacker hostel.
Cons: We hadn't realised that, although our hut did have its own allocated toilet and shower facilities, they were outside of the hut itself and in the case of the shower, contained within a private three-sided wooden enclosure immediately beside the hut but open to the air. We understood belatedly that this is the traditional Samoan way. We found the outdoor cold shower a challenge, especially showering first thing in the morning or later in the evening when the shower area was not well lit. We also found the wooden hut accommodation, although a charming concept, to be very restricted space-wise with just enough room for a double bed, wash basin, two chairs and a small coffee table, and really nowhere to store our 2 suitcases. We found it to be quite a small space for 2 adults to move around in.
7.5 Good
Pros: The view
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Delicious and big breakfasts! Very nice view on the town and the ocean. Friendly staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was great
Cons: Could hear roosters crowing and dogs barking during but that was right across Apia - I guess it goes with staying in Apia.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the hospitality, the guys that looked after us was really nice. Our Fale, which I think we were upgraded to the sea view was very comfortable, sink, kettle and showering under the stars was a real treat. Great value for money, great views from the decking, nice breakfast. Enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is a very nice person. The place is beautiful. We wish we stayed longer.
Cons: It is a bit remote place but definitelly worth the hike up the hill.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good view with a really nice breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful with everything.
Cons: No wifi and not near much else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was the reason we chose to stay here. Magical. Excellent service, friendly and treated us like family. Breakfast was really good.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food and staff, clean and not overcrowded!!
6.8 Good
Pros: Great room. Hotel itself could do with a little bit of work. Some little touches would make it even better. Pool is awesome, breakfast buffet is good. Other food was limited, and the bar was pretty pricey. It's in the middle of nowhere - takes about 45 minutes to get to Apia.
Cons: Staff were a bit hit and miss. Some were very friendly, others were almost surly. Way too much plastic onsite, the products were a bit rubbish.
6.8 Good
Pros: The pool was great and great access to the beach.
Cons: The food was average, breakfast was the same every day, need to mix it up a bit. The air conditioning was very poor in the rooms. Crockery in the dining areas was always chipped, chipped coffee cups (need replacing). Cutlery was dirty. Hygiene needs to Improve.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was varied with fresh local fruit and a good variety of cooked food. The pool is great. Staff were friendly and welcoming. It was clear that they wanted for us to be happy. Very nice setting with wonderful scenery. Free kayaks. Good and reliable Wi-fi connection.

Cons: We were placed in a family room. My son got bitten all over her face by the mosquitoes. We noticed it when we got up in the morning. 7.5 Good
Pros: The room was spacious, and the location was convenient for the centre of town and only 1km from Farmer Joe supermarket. The grounds were lovely.
Cons: Our room was very dark and looked over the car park. It was very expensive and not good value for money. Breakfast wasn't very good. It was scrambled eggs, bacon so tough you couldn't cut through it, white bread and small pots of yoghurt with tiny amounts of muesli on top. There was no shelf in the bathroom to put your clothes or toiletries on. The sliding bathroom door came off its track and I had to get my husband to reattach it so I could get out of the bathroom.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The atmosphere was nice.
Cons: The room aircon was broken and the sheets smelled bad. I changed rooms and the second room was better but the sheets still smelled and there were cockroaches in the bathroom coming out of the drain.

4.5 Okay
Pros: Unaware, I need to pay an extra. Besides, reception on arrival was discriminating the way I see. I inquired at the front desk ahead of a white couple but I was been attended to after the couples were attended. It took 20 minutes only upon me following up. This was very embarrassing
Cons: Has to pay for internet

Pros: Close to town... very friendly and accommodating....you felt very welcomed.
Cons: Parking was limited.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool, friendly staff, adequate breakfast, comfy fale
Cons: The packs of dogs in the area are dangerous (though easily avoided by travelling in a cab - it's only 3-5 tala and worth it) and noisy, fighting and barking throughout the night - crazy roosters crowing all night long and a lot of traffic noise makes sleeping in the fale difficult to impossible - bring earplugs! Also the mozzies are the fiercest we encountered in Samoa so make sure you have repellant
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We both enjoyed our stay at Vaimoana Resort
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The house staff were great. Very kind and polite
Cons: The room lacked proper air conditioning The top floor building seems to be leaning towards the back of the property The shower and toilet facilities is not great could do with a major renovation. Insufficient Parking for guests. No television in the room The eggs for breakfast were well over cooked. The senior office assistant may need to work on her personal skills when talking to guests who have concerns .

Pros: Great place to stay in Apia. Lovely staff, nice pool. We tried 2 rooms because we did a last minute booking for a second night a both were great.

Aniva's Place - Apia - Building

8.6 Excellent (20 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Aniva's Place in Apia, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Robert Louis Stevenson Museum and National Parliament. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Tropical breakfast with lovely smile and coffee on the go :-)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Aniva is really nice, welcoming and helpful just like the rest of the team. Our bedroom was clean, confortable and we had air conditioning wich was really nice. The kitchen is big and has everything you need if you want to cook. The pool area is really nice and the location of the house is perfect (many good restaurants, convenient shops...) We felt like home and we will recommend Aniva's Place for sure!
Cons: The breakfast was good but it was the same everyday, not enough fruit. But for a short stay, it doesn't matter. At night, roosters around the house are really annoying and have disturbed our sleep more than once (they are numerous and start to "sing" at 3:30am).
5.5 Okay
Cons: - Internet in the house is bloody expensive !!! - Unfortunately a guesthouse full of family problems and i didnt feel really welcome. - Many times the door was locked and i had to wait outside for a while. - Finally i got kicked out coz of a private family party and i slept the night at the airport. I HOPE IT MAKES U HAPPY !!! Same problem as in whole Samoa: Everyone wants lots of money from the tourists but nobody like to do anything for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved Anivas place - it was clean, comfortable and homely. Aniva and the rest of the staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. We would 100% stay again. Thanks Aniva!
7.5 Good
Pros: Aniva's Place in Apia was adequate for my 10 year old grandniece and I. We stayed 4 nights there and got to meet Aniva (Legend) herself toward the end of our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast presentation was more than satisfied with choices of fresh local fruit like bananas, pawpaw, pineapple, coconut, cereals, real butter for toast, jam, tea, coffee, milo. Bacon, fish, eggs cooked as desired. Hot water showers. Cool air-conditioning at fingertips. The clean pool and furnishings were maintained for us to enjoy. Large shared lounging areas in and out. Suburban Aniva's is set back toward the hills from the CBD which is a 3 to 5 minute taxi ride away depending on traffic. Fares inexpensive at 3 to 5 talas. Two handy taxi ranks are like a couple of minute's walk from Aniva's Place. We went into the CBD to collect our Budget rental vehicle which I sorted prior to travel and there was no problem with free parking at Aniva's Place.
Cons: Be prepared to pay in local tala currency on checking in. I turned up expecting to pay with my visa credit card but the staff wanted tala cash because, as we all know, cards attract fees for conversion. Ablution smells were worse at times especially when it rained.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It had everything you would expect from a B&B plus more. Great pool and lounge area. The breakfasts were tropical delights to start the day! The highest praise I could share was the hospitality provided by Aniva and her friendly hardworking team who catered to my every need, including helping to pay my taxi fare through to providing me lunch at their cost and driving me to sports games! What an amazing genuinely friendly host who ran her lodgings with finesse and compassion!
Cons: There wasn’t anything I could criticise, even productively. It was value for money without question!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Aniva is very lovely and helpful (exactly as her portrait suggests) and welcomed us very warm and Samoan-like! We had a relaxed and pleasant stay here with delicious breakfast and a comfortable living room. We extended two nights. The location is perfect, not in the city but you can still walk and not to far outside.
Cons: Some people may need a pair of earplugs for the night as the dogs and the roosters start singing early in the morning, but we had a good sleep and they are everywhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Aniva's Place is like a home away from home. The location is great just a 5 min drive from the town centre and there is a chemist next door and a taxi rank across the road. Our room was spacious and included an ensuite bathroom and all was very clean. The fan was sufficient enough for us but there was the option of air con for an extra fee. Aniva herself was so friendly and helpful and went out of her way to help us arrange a taxi for a cheaper price on a Sunday which we really appreciated. The breakfast pancakes were really good also. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and welcoming! Thank you Aniva for everything - if we are ever back in Apia we will stay here again!
Cons: The only improvement I can think of is that there did seem to be a little confusion amomgst the staff about whether a 20 tala key deposit was required or not and that we had to ask in the first place for keys to our rooms as these were not originally offered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal touch by Aniva and her staff. Other guests mixed with each other so it felt like a home rather than a hotel.
Cons: No negative at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thank you very much to Aniva, Sia and Mercy for our lovely 3 day stay in Apia. We were made very welcome, our bedroom, our bathroom and the entire property was very clean and well maintained. Siá's homemade banana pancakes served at breakfast time are extremely delicious (of course you have to have more than 1). Aniva manages her bed and breakfast business on mutual respect, friendliness and homeliness which is exactly what we were looking for. All the staff were only too happy to help and freely give information about their beautiful country.
