We were welcomed warmly on arrival by the owner Mme Despres. The hotel does not provide evening meals so Mme Despres recommended a local restaurant and kindly booked a table for us, The food there was was excellent. The hotel itself is high standard, in a nice setting and had comfortable beds . We did not have time to enjoy the pool or the sauna. We enjoyed our stay albeit brief. I would go back there.
everything very well maintained and an obvious attempt to meet every need. International newspapers etc. Very nice greeting from staff and willingness to serve.
The pool was great Extremely uncomfortable night due to heat. They could really improve the experience with air conditioning
Clean, welcoming small hotel on edge of town/village within easy walk of centre, rooms reasonable size, comfortable double bed
Very friendly; free WiFi
we liked the friendly approach of the staff , the position in the country and the closeness to Fleurie
A nice freindly quiet hotel in a lovely area of France. Shame there was no mresturant.
The location in the vineyards and the owners attention to detail top quality linen and towels. A bonus on a very hot day was the delightful pool.
Excellent location, near the Fleurie village and vineyards, as well as others Beaujolais villages. Very calm. Good buffet breakfast. Free WiFi. Nice and strictly non smoking room. Cleanliness. Very nice stay. The hotel should offer some food to dinner. We suggested them to offfer a light menu, like soup or salads, and cheese and wine, of course..
An exceptional hotel, one of the best we've ever stayed at No complaints at all
Very nice environment, good restaurant
very quet and nice no
nice location, prestigious chateau
new decorated rooms, great breakfast, excellent hotel
Room was great. Excellent property
The Chateau was everything we could have hoped for and one of the best we have stayed at even though we travel through France regularly. One night was not enough. The dinner was incredibly good and excellent value. We chose a "comfort room" rather than the duplex as more in character. Would not have wanted to spend so much if we'd paid full price - the half-price offer was brilliant. I will not spend 20 euros each on breakfast anywhere! The mattress felt lumpy and not up to the standard of the rest of the room.
breakfast dog excrement in the garden on our private patio. Not being taken immediately to an appropriate room due to my mobility restrictions, and that I had outlined that in an email.
The hotel and staff was really great! The dinner there was very nice and good tasting. It was located out in the countryside and was very quite at night. Really beautiful place surrounded by vineyards. Absolutely nothing, it was all great and would go back there again!
A very beautiful manor that has managed to keep it's originality (in the older rooms). The food was very good, if you like a more gourmet and expensive menu. Hard to find but worth it. No lift in the old section.
the manager went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. NO other mortal could have been more helpful. All the staff were kind, caring and helpful. We even had an upgraded room at no extra cost.
The food The room furniture
We found the hotel location great for exploring the Beaujolais. We were disappointed that our choices from the dinner menu were not available on 2 evenings.
Room, patio and food were good. The front and reception area could be more attractive.
You feel at home. Very friendly.
This was a beautiful hotel. We booked an extra night as we were so impressed with it. We were upgraded to a superior room which was very spacious with balcony overlooking the balcony. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel. The dining room was excellent as well with a beautiful buffet breakfast. It is also easy to locate with good signage.
We like the Dutch couple who runs the Hotel of which we have visited from their start 11 years ago and they still remember us even though there has been a slip of 2-3 years no, but maybe it would help if the servants at the restaurant could speak better English
In a very nice location, the owner of the Maritonnes are great. and I will return to see them if i pass again in the Beaujolais.
Large room, & bathroom. Large & comfortable bed, nice garden view.+
good hotel for an overnight stopover en-route to Cote d Azure
Cooling in the room The hotel was difficult to find, address information incorrect. The room was reasonable but not great for 2 adults and 3 kids. The building as a whole looks very worn down.
Room are too small for 4 persons. Our 2 children had to sleep on matrasses laying on the floor. Kitchen staff stood smoking that's why we went somewhere else to eat.
Finding the hotel was a nightmare, the location information was poor in the extreme. On our second visit on the return journey the towels had a strange smell
Restaurant was ok. Rooms were very basic and old.
Nothing The staff were obviously over stretched and under staffed. Dinner was appalling, we did not get two of the orders we had placed, and it took three attempts before we were told that what we had ordered was not available. We accept that it had been a busy week end however the staff's response was down right rude and in the end we refused to pay for one of the meals.
There are no places in the restaurant for the hotel guests because the hotel was overbooked!! We had booked breakfast, but there was no seats inside, we were asked whether we would like to cancel the breakfast, but we hold the breakfast and take place in the garden.
The restaurant was very good with local dishes superbly cooked and a good selection of local wines.
Quiet comfortable room, pleasant staff, good food and pichet wine at reasonable prices.
Could not find the hotel. The map which we printed off this site was very poor. We rang to ask directions but the stated they did not speak english but when we got there the english was very good but then he prentended he did not understand us again when we stated we rang for directions. The breakfast was poor for over €5. We also had a 18 month old with us and his bed was a bunk which was not really suitable.
It has a very idealistic location, close to Macdonals,Careffour super market and a Tank station... It is very good as a stop point for a trip to the south of france or Spain.
- Furniture in rooms is old, carpets need to be replaced. Rooms were hot, with open windows you keep hearing trains.
Ultra modern funky room with space age feel. Very convenient for overnight stop over while travelling. No air conditioning and no kettle to make a cup of tea
Breakfast was good and a perfect location for a number of eateries
budget price Poor maintenance of rooms, bathroom door broken, no soap in shower dispenser, window blind broken, generally a bit scruffy (but cheap rates)
Location, restaurant, surroundings, closeness to park with playground. Could be slightly renovated. Hairdryer missing.
A lovely situation good facilities swimming pool tennis court in delightful village 10 mins from autoroute surrounded by Morgon vineyards Breakfasts at 9 euros finished at 9.30 a bit early on holiday We breakfasted "independantly" on terrace courtesy of excellent village boulangerie Tennis net needs replacing !
the situation of the hotel , among vineyards , is quiet and relaxing
private parking, beautifully surrounded by vinyards with view on the grapes ! friendly service, good restaurants around in the village(s) nearby.
Everyone was very friendly and it is situated in a beautiful part of France.
Nice, comfortable room, well-decorated, good bathroom, well-situated. Not really
Very friendly & helpful
As a wheelchair user I need a ground floor bedroom with space to access the bathroom. Everything was perfect - there were lovely views from the room and the hotel owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Very peaceful and attractive countryside.
We were welcomed bythe Delightful owners and looked after during our stay, ideal for the Beaujolais area.
the location and quietness the welcome was anything but warm- the proprietor was grumpy and proferred some inaccurate comments on the local restaurants- the family should carry on their (noisy) disagreements out of the hearing of the guests- we stayed two nights and the beds were covered but not made up : we had to smooth the sheets before getting into bed- there was no farewell: the money was taken and that was it.
Swimming pool, location Not friendly
The owner was not there at 14.00. We waited for more than an hour before we could check in. We do have to say Booking was more than helpful and called the owner for us and called us back. Booking service was excellent.
Comfortable bed. Restaurant on site Floor was grubby. Shower was like pressure washer because 'rose' missing, although this was eventually rectified. Odd 'set-up' in shower, meaning that shower curtain did not stop water flooding on to floor. (We were in Room No. 1).
Lying in the sun outside & relaxing from a long journey
very basic very basic
It was easily accessible from the motorway The room was a non smoking room but there was a very strong cigarette smell. All our bedding and clothing smelt of cigarette smoke which is not pleasant for non smokers with a small child. Not impressed with the hotel and should have stayed at a Companile or Etap.
Good value and close to A6 Signs were poor at night to find the entrance to the hotel.
Convenient location for stop off. Easy access to motorway. Good internet access. Accidently wiped card key (with mobile phone in pocket). Diffficulty phoning for hep out of hours. Simple note to go to Campanile reception would have helped
Nice receptionist on departure who helped me to sort out problem from night before Automatic check in would not recognise my credit card nor would it take reference number had to pay for another room
In the several Premier Class hotels in which we stayed the staff were neither very friendly nor helpful. There were no plugs in the wash basins, the bathrooms were awful and small. There were no plates off which to eat breakfast and the choice of foods for breakfast were very limited. Premier class they definitely are not!
We were using the hotel as an overnight stop-off on the long journey south - it was not far from the motorway junction, but in a quiet rural setting, with a bar frequented by locals. The owner of the hotel was very pleasant. The walls were paper-thin, so sound carried from one room to the next. There was a baby in the room next to ours and we could hear any cry, however slight!
Good location and good services.
The warm welcome and pleasant personalities of the couple running it who did everything they could to make our stay a success . We would prefer tohave a small area inside to sit and relax or read .
