9.6 Excellent
Pros: The mineral water warm pools were fabulous. The rooms were kept exceptionally clean. The dinners were superb. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus to the local village, Panza, from where it was possible to get a bus all around the island. They also provided a shuttle to the great beach at Citara and the Poseidon water park.
Cons: It was just a little bit out of the way. It wasn’t easy to get to Sant Angelo.

Pros: We have a good chill rest! It’s wonderful villa, nice sea view, vert good breakfast with fresh juices. All for the relax.
Cons: may be kitchen for the lunch. it’s so so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Straight away we were greeted with kindness and a great service. The room was comfortable with a beautiful view from the balcony. The B&B is surrounded by flowers and cactuses which made the view even prettier. Two of the pools were hot and open 24/7. Such a relaxing experience to watch the sunset while swimming. Breakfast was as well a good mix. For people without car it gets quite sporty to explore the island. There is a bus close to the B&B and we were driven to the bus station so we didn’t have to walk uphill. Definitely had a great stay at this place!

Pros: Very friendly host. Great views from the terrace for breakfast. Close to a natural thermal water beach!
Cons: Very down hill if travelling by foot. No proximity to a city centre (but buses available)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host and her daughter are both very nice and welcoming. They served homemade breakfast every morning on the terrace, with a view of the sea. The location is good, Panza had great restaurants.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing variety of food for the breakfast.
Cons: the location is a bit difficult to access if you don't have a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you like quiet streets, ascents and descents, if you are not afraid of numerous stairs - you here in the Panza. And Villa Natalina is the best place to stay here. All the good that is written earlier about this mini-hotel is true. Friendly, caring and friendly hostess Natalina and her daughters will make sure that you have a hearty delicious Breakfast (sausage, cheese, butter, yogurt, a large selection of jams, juice, fruit, delicious fresh pastries) and great coffee. Dear, Natalina, the taste of your coffee is unforgettable!! You will have Breakfast on the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the mountains. Dear friend! Your room will be perfectly cleaned every day, you will have snow-white towels every day. I had everything this. In the lobby the hotel there is a coffee machine and a kettle, and you can make coffee or tea for free at any time. On foot in 15 minutes you will reach the center of the village, where there are wonderful cafes, pizzeria, shops and supermarket. The owner of the Villa is always there and you can ask any question. I had a heavy suitcase and Natalina's husband took me to the bus station. For this my special big gratitude. To get from the port of Ischia to the Villa you can take a taxi or city bus №1, having bought a ticket in advance 1.5 E at the bus station. In the future, bus tickets are sold in all stores. Ask at checkout. Ischia is the pearl of Italy, a beautiful country with wonderful, friendly and very colorful people. I want to return here. And to Natalina's Villa, too.
Cons: liked everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect and the host very friendly
Cons: The bed was too hard.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, nice room great breakfast, great if you rented a car as is not cose to much ,great restaurant up the road
Cons: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We chose a hotel near Sorgeto Bay (10 minutes walk) and away from the noisy shopping streets. The location is very good: quiet street, friendly neighbors and their dogs, wonderful views of the mountains and the sea. Everything you need is a 10-minute walk away: bus stop, supermarket, restaurants. To get from the port to the hotel you can get on bus 1, CS or CD.(bus number 1 goes faster) Breakfast is served on the terrace with a view on Sant'Angelo and the sea. The breakfast and coffee is amaizing (it would be nice to add an scrambled eggs). The room is large, bright and clean. Large balcony with view of the mountains and the sea. Big and comfy bad. Very good Wi-fi. Natalina and Anna are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The feeling that you're visiting friends. Thank you very much for the good memories!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice B&B close to Sorgeto hot springs and to the bus stop Panza. Natalina and her daughter are very friendly and helpful hosts doing their best to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a beautiful view on the sea. Natalina's daughter speaks some English and German, which helps a lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect stay in a paradise, few minutes walk from an amazing beach with thermal water. The family who runs the pension is wonderful. The breakfast with home cooked food was incredible.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the room with a view of the sea. Clean, quiet sleep, beautiful view through the window and from the balcony, delicious breakfast, close to Poseidon Thermal Water Park. Helpful staff, and on our departure - a gift of a souvenir alcohol drink, it is lovely ...
Cons: It would be a plus for free air conditioning, but for us in May it was not needed yet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely amazing. I stayed at Hotel Riva del Sole with my mother, and there couldn't have been a better place for having rest, enjoy our family time and relax. The owner, Signore Vittorio, does his best for all the guests to feel like home - and you really feel like you have made new friends there :) The level of service is very high, the personnel is very friendly and helpful, and people who take care of you in the restaurant (I just can't use the word "waiters"!) are just amazing. Peppino is the best, really :) And it's very calm there, which is just what we needed to have good rest and "re-charge the batteries". Riva del Sole has direct access to the beach (plus two swimming pools at the hotel territory), Poseidon's Gardens are very close, bus stop is just opposite to the hotel. Rooms are nice and clean, food is tasty, memories which remain are just great :) Thanks a lot, Riva del Sole, hope to be back!
Cons: WiFi coverage could be improved, air conditioning could be made free, a small fridge in the room would be nice to have.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Repeat guest. I love this hotel. The architecture, the location, the staff, the breakfast, and the value. For a small fee you are able to enjoy all of the facilities (spa treatments, etc) at a sister hotel Terme Tritone a 12€ cab ride away. If you want a taste of the lifestyles of the rich and famous :-) ... Hotel Nettuno and Tritone is your best deal.
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyting was wonderful.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building and enormous junior suite. Perfect location and tasty breakfast. Clean rooms and amazing view of the see from the terrace. Overall, we are very satisfied with the Nettuno hotel.
Cons: Little expensive.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff were great, very clean too
Cons: The breakfast wasn't great...there didn't see to be a bar or much in the way of food
7.5 Good
Pros: Position, cleanliness, decor
Cons: Lack of staff, the hotel is run on autopilot with no staffed bar or outlets. It’s not lively in the evening or anytime during the day. Breakfast is good but not like holiday inn even considering Mediterranean culture about breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The location is close to city center and the sea view is magnificant
Cons: The staff proficiency in English was poor limiting their ability to help
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and spacious accommodation
Cons: All ok
7.7 Good
Pros: View from the balcony and from the rooftop- the sea and the island. The pool has decent hydro massage.
Cons: Bed is very firm. I guess this is typical for Italy. The pressure is very weak in the bidet. It did not seem that the mineral water in the pool was refreshed often.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exellent food, good staff very friendly, beautiful spa and terme, walking distance to town!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location right by the beach Quiet & mature clientele so no noisy nightlife or kids ! Spotless rooms Sunset views Not too many English people (we are English ourselves)
Cons: Not a dislike but we had to figure things out for ourselves Also make sure you ask for another room if you’re not happy with first offering We were taken to a tired older wing to musty room, we eventually got a room in main building with great sunset views on the left wing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice property. Great location right on the beach with several pools. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: The food was very average so we would not do the half-board again (just breakfast).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the private lido made it easy to relax. The room had a view of the sea with a small terrace
Cons: The fitness center had almost no equipment and old rusty machines. The breakfast lacked more options such as more types of cheeses maybe ricotta or mozarella and the juice was not drinkable as it was so artificial, being in Italy fresh juice could have been expected specially when you pay the price we did. beds were very hard but thats always the Italian way :-)
7.1 Good
Pros: Location, nearby is a nice restaurant “Da Giovanni” - were there for dinner, recommend to try. Forio is not far from hotel, city center can be reached in 20-25 minutes by foot. The room was clean and comfortable, in a villa in 5 minutes from main building. The sea view was beautiful.
Cons: Breakfast is the same every day with limited choice - there is only one hot meal (scramble with/without bacon), fresh watermelon and some other fruits, though we liked a very wide range of pastry. We stayed for 5 days and were satisfied with the breakfast. On the beach an umbrella and sun beds can be reserved to book a first sea line for the stay, but it costs €15/day and is not explicitly stated anywhere. The room was clean, but when we ran out of shampoo, the housekeeper did not bring a fresh one, had to ask for another at the reception (a bit strange and annoying for a 4-star hotel). P.S. If you book a non-refundable room via booking.com, you can be asked to pay for the stay in full for the second time during check out (the hotel said they did not charge any money), so your check out can last for 20 minutes instead of normal 5.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel in a great location
4.6 Okay
Pros: Sunsets
Cons: Food is not good. Boring taste. No variety. You can eat better at restaurant s around the corner. Generally old rooms with a smell. Not comfy. Place needs renovation. Not managed with passion.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Jean Luc and the young lady on reception always greeted us with a smile. The hotel is clean and bright with lovely views. The breakfast is very good and we had 2 delicious dinners at the hotel. There are several sitting areas including by the pool and jacuzzi. The bus stop is close and it is only a short walk to the seafront.
Cons: We would have liked a kettle in the room but staff willingly provided hot water on request.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Simple, but very nice hotel with fantastic service. Gianluca and his staff do everything to make sure you have a great holiday including helping you with valuable tips. Very clean and fresh. It’s in a peaceful area and you can really enjoy the small pool area. The food is excellent with great variation. Breakfast of course dominated by cakes, but hey, you’re in Italy! You can also get eggs/omelette if you want. It’s close to spiaggia Chiaia which is just fine.
Cons: It’s a 15-20 minutes walk to Forio center and part of the road is small and very busy with cars. Also Forio as such is maybe not the best choice on Ischia, but I guess that’s a personal preference. It’s very simple though to reach all other parts of the island by a bus stopping nearby. The family rooms are quite small, but with smaller children there’s no problem whatsoever.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The guy at the reception is very kind
Cons: All perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to cater for our every need. The place was exceptionally clean with a lovely bathroom and excellent shower. The food was delicious and great value at €20 for a 3 course meal. The location was perfect for the beach and Forio.
Cons: There was nothing at all that I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel for a relaxed holiday. It is very quite at the hotel. The location is very convenient. About 5 min by foot to a bus stop and about 10 min by foot to the beach (both public and private parts). About 15-20 min by foot to Forio port and the center of Forio. The hotel territory and the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms are cleaned up daily. The relaxation zone with the pool is very nice. The pool is not deep (about 1,10 m maybe), but it`s enough to cool in the warm day. The diners at the hotel are exceptional! The dinner consists of 4 courses and everything is very tasty. The breakfast is good. The hotel owner and his staff are very polite, friendly, always helpful. You can feel like being at the home of your friends, not the hotel. The free transfer to and from Forio port can be organized by the hotel. During the stay, we celebrated the birthday and received a nice suprise at our table during dinner. Highly recommend for the holiday at Ischia!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is perfect, the design is thought of in all tiny details. The hotel is a bit away from the main road and it is absolutely quiet, can enjoy birds singing. The food is delicious, Domenico is super in all the senses !!! The best Southern Italian Man! Kids loving, patient and very helpful! Love our stay!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: View of sea. The dinner. The cappuccino at breakfast. The owners were incredibly gracious.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all really nice, friendly and helpful. It's a small hotel which means all the staff recognise you and say hello, etc. and make you feel welcome. Room was very clean. Towels changed when we required them to be changed. Lovely view of the Sunsets every night from our balcony! (Room 3). Nice coffee at breakfast. Close to a nice beach (approx. 350m) and bus stop at end of the road, approx. 200m.
Cons: Beds were very hard, not to our liking! It's a little way out of town centre but within walking distance (approx. 15/20mins). Would have liked more fruit options at breakfast as only apples or oranges and Egg options as only 'fried' offered.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful welcome from Gianluca, very clean and well-kept hotel. Good value dinner each evening

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! such a Magical place! We absolutely loved our stay!
Cons: Beds awful!
7.5 Good
Pros: The restaurant at the entrance of the hotel was a highlight! Location was great too, pool and the views were exceptional. Close by the water and thermal springs.
Cons: If you don't speak Italian you are treated differently and without as much care which was the most unfortunate part of our trip. One of the restaurants connected to the hotel treated my husband and I without much attention and gave us a desert we didn't order and charged us extra for it.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The gorgeous views of the sea.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: great breakfast. We booked the offsite location though which they said was easy to get to the main hotel grounds and a driver would pick us up whenever we wanted. Unfortunately that wasn't as easy or efficient as we expected and wa very to walk.
Cons: A better description of the off site rooms. It is not an easy walk and is much like a condo not like a hotel. The towels are stiff and cardboard like, you also get charged to use beach towels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It‘s a very beautiful spot with magnificent views of the coast.
Cons: We were hosted in the dependance Villa Caterina and had to take a shuttle bus every time we wanted to use the facilities of the main building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a retreat. Make sure to ask about transportation services so you can enjoy fully. You’ll need to be mobile and call in advance if you have specific preferences but the place is a true retreat.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was spectacular and the lunch at the outdoor cantina area was food-wise great (and all home grown), and view-wise fanastic.
Hotel Cava Dell'Isola - Forio - Building
10
9.1 Excellent (193 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Cava dell'isola in Forio, you'll be by the sea, within a 15-minute drive of Ischia Port and Poseidon Thermal Gardens. Featured amenities include luggage storage and coffee/tea in a common area. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great family hotel. Secluded location a few meters from the beach. As soon as we arrived Teresa greeted us and made us feel welcome. Mario who served us breakfast and evening cocktails is kind hearted and generous. The charm and serenity of this place is all encompassing. The views are breathtaking, the close proximity to the beach, and the clarity of the water make it the perfect place to unwind. It is a 15-20 minute walk to Forio which is a lovely town with lots to do. The only downside is the steep hill to get down to the hotel, restaurants and beach, which makes he challenging for some. We will definitely return.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An outstanding location - close both to the city center (20-30 min walk) and Poseidon thermal park (15-20 min walk). Right below in 20 meters there are 2 excellent restaurants (comparing to a number of other options throughout Forio that are highly rated at the well-known restaurant review web-site) for lunch and dinner - definitely in our top 5 of Forio. Has a great beach right downstairs with an amazing view to the bay of Citara (the beautiful place where the Poseidon park is located), one can even have some fun swimming with a mask - there are some bigger and smaller stones around (with some huge ones standing well out of water) so the seabed has some nice landscape to watch, as well as occasional fishes. The hotel provides a decent breakfast and they were able to prepare some custom omelette for our baby upon request. The room (sea view) was stylish, spacey and clean. The view was excellent - one can enjoy it from the private terrace (that each sea view room has) relaxing in a chair. The child bed provided was good and spacey for our 2-years old baby. Sea view rooms are at a distance from the breakfast space (unlike some other rooms, esp. the standard ones) so we had no issues at all with the morning noise mentioned in some reviews. They have a rare great “door system” in the rooms - there is a usual glass door, then there is an extra shutter door with moving louvers, plus a sliding mosquito net for the whole door space. So one can close just the glass door to avoid noise but keep the view, or also close the louvers so that no one sees the room, or open the glass door but close the shutter door and mosquito net to let the air come in. Both the glass door and the shutter door are sturdy and can be locked separately with the same key, so one can safely lock the room in any of the mentioned set ups. They also have quite a powerful exhaust fan in the rooms, so there are no problems to keep the air fresh and have no insects at the same time.
Cons: The air conditioning was quite smelly in one of the rooms (we had two rooms as a bigger family) probably because of unchanged filters, so we didn’t want to use it. That is sea view room #2 (for the owners reference). Wasn’t a big deal for us but may be for someone else. One other thing was that our request to clean the blocked sink was probably forgotten on day 1 as it seemed, despite a second reminder, but was quite quickly fixed on day 2. Again wasn’t a big deal for us at all, though there is some space for improvement. The bigger issue is that smoking is prohibited in the rooms BUT allowed on the terrace which has half-open partitions between the rooms (at least for the sea view ones). So we had a few times when our smoking neighbors spoiled the air in our room when we had the door open to get fresh air (quite ironically). When you notice the smell it is usually too late to start closing the glass door. My recommendation would be prohibiting smoking everywhere around the rooms as otherwise the non-smoking rooms don’t make much sense, especially with the exhaust fan that sucks the outdoor air to the inside. Also some people smoke much more often than our neighbors did, so if someone gets such smoking neighbors I can imagine that it could seriously spoil the vacation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Hosts, Location, breakfast on a terrace with view, spacious comfort double room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff Mario is very helpful and he made wonderful cheese cake for breakfast which was very impressive. Overall the stay at the hotel is very enjoyable. The hotel is located at a very beautiful beach.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, helpful staff, especially Mario.... 30 m from nice sandy beach, 2 restaurants close to the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! All is new and nice decorated, bright colours in the room interior. Just few steps and you can reach a wonderful sandy beach! Very good breakfast! Good location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff and rooms
Cons: Too many stairs, but that’s ok
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really loved our stay here. Our highlights were: - The beach. Cava dell'Isola is beautiful and it's only 2 minutes walk (down a slope) from the hotel. In peak season, it got busy during the day (but still with a nice atmosphere) but it was super peaceful in the early mornings and evenings. We thought it was nicer than nearby Citara, which is supposed to be one of the best beaches on the island. - The breakfast and aperitivo - delicious food and great cocktails with stunning views of the ocean - The staff. Lovely family-run feel and really helpful staff. Mario was especially awesome! - The location. We really liked this part of the island. Cava dell'Isola has a couple lovely restaurants right on the doorstep so we didn't really feel the need to explore Forio for the two nights we were there, but it seemed like a great little town. The hotel is also near the Poseidon Thermal Spas, which are pretty pricey but a really relaxing day trip and walking distance from the hotel.
Cons: Nothing, it was all fantastic!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The hotel has really nice colors and a wonderful seabreeze-atmosphere: Walls and tiles all in white and blue - a perfect match to the view from the hotel at the azure-blue sea. The rooms were very comfortable. Great airconditioning and comfy beds. Amazing view at the sea. Breakfeast was very good: Calm atmosphere having a great coffee again with seaview and all the yachts passing by. And you can have breakfeast until 10.30. Nobody is rushing you. Everybody is totally relaxed. Big thanks to Mario at the bar who is very nice and helpful and he makes a great Aperol Sprizz. Big Plus: From the hotel its only a few steps to a beautiful beach with crystal clear water and coarse but soft clean sand which doesn't stick. The water is amazing. Also good for snorkeling, because there are big rocks close to the beach. The hotel has umbrellas and sunbeds to take down to the beach. When you arrive and leave ask for the taxi to drive down the narrow way to the hotel otherwise it is quite a challenge with the luggage.
Cons: niente!

Pros: My wife and I are vegan. They were able to meet our dietary requirements.
Cons: The rooms were a bit small and dated, and the shower was small, but I don't find this unusual when traveling in Europe at smaller hotels.

Cons: Wi-fi

Pros: A lovely clean hotel with a beautiful garden, great location and super friendly and helpful staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Paula the hotel manger is so nice... every thing we asked was immediately answered. The food was delicious , we had breakfast lunch and dinner all very tasty. We arrived with 3 small kids and we got a room with bunk bed, after we used the room we asked for a room with 2 single beds since the little kids can fall and they immediately changed our room. Few times we needed a ride for the supermarket, children playground and even to the ferry-port and they very graciously gave us a ride with their car. Felt like home They gave us great recommendations for nice beaches and restaurants around the hotel. The hot and cold pool were very pampering and we had a lot of fun using them. The hotel garden is very beautiful and nurtured with nice swings...Very relaxing This was a very good experience for us and we definitely going back there in our next visit to Ischia
Cons: We enjoyed everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, not far from the beach, 20 minutes walk from Forio center. The hotel has an amazing garden, relaxing park with two swimming pool. The breakfast was various and fine.
Cons: The bathroom should have been cleaner.

Pros: Paola the manager really is the heart of this hotel. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The hotel has a lovely welcoming feel and the staff are amazing. A beautiful hotel on a beautiful island!

7.9 Good
Pros: Staff was very accomadating and pleasant. The owners have a passion for the botanical garden which is apparent in the care they take in the cultivating the botanical park. The Cactus bar was lovely. Amazing sunsets from the patio. Staff provided a very reliable taxi driver and good dinner recommendations.
Cons: The photos of the hotel were misleading, as the common areas, entryway, and rooms are dated and worn. The landscaping, paint, furniture and fixtures of the hotel need attention and updating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Villa Ravino was fabulous. The villa was immaculate. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The owners, Edith and Pepe did everything possible to make our stay the best ever. They are warm and really care about their guests. The grounds are just beautiful with a botanical garden that is just awesome. And the view, sunset, thermal pool, and breakfast were excellent! We can’t wait to come back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is magical! Staff is super friendly and accommodating
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place to relax with private baths and an amazing garden. You can have eat breakfast in the beautiful scenery and explore the surrounding area from there. If you don't have something in the apartment, you can always ask for help! Staff very polite and always helpful!
Cons: Would be great to drink a coffee from the coffee machine on the terrace or in the room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were great and super friendly! The botanical gardens were amazing and not advertised with the booking but was a real bonus, especially the restaurant.
Cons: No pool/beach towels provided
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a simply amazing stay at the Villa Ravino. This place was even more beautiful than we had expected! Our room was very comfortable, quiet and had everything necessary. The terrace was like a small private garden, where you can spend your evening in the company of singing birds and a bottle of good vine. The staff was very friendly and always ready to help. The location is really nice: the best Ischian beach is only 20 minutes walk away, Forio - 25 minutes and a bus stop - 2 minutes. And of course, along with great hotel facilities, you have access to a wonderful botanical garden with an impressive collection of plants and a cozy lounge cafe. Everything was just perfect!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Villa Ravino is a great base for exploring Ischia. There's a bus stop right outside (buses go all around the island) and some good restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The Villa is inland and has a really stunning view over the ocean from the front terrace. Luca, our host, was so helpful. He knows the island really well and was happy to help with recommendations and bookings (local thermal baths/ boat hire etc.) - plus he introduced us to the best pizza we had on the island (Vito's just up the road). We loved the on-site bar, which is surrounded by cacti (part of the adjoining cactus garden) and serves good food, coffee and drinks. There were a couple of live music performances in the evenings while we were there. The resort is a bit wild with varied plants and wildlife (grapevines, lemon trees, cacti, geckos, peacocks...) but that's all part of it's charm and everything is kept spotlessly clean. It's a place with a lot of character and I'd recommend it to anyone who prefers quirky, boutique hotels to large or luxe resorts.
Cons: We really enjoyed our stay and there isn't anything that spoilt it for us. Note: if you haven't been to Ischia before, be aware that many of the roads are very busy (at least in August) and pavements tend to disappear and reappear at random. The walk from Ravino into the centre of Forio is along a main road and there are few gaps in the pavement, but we did it most days and got used to it pretty quickly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views were tremendous and grounds exquisite. Staff were more than accommodating down to every last detail
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villa Ravino is a little piece of paradise in Ischia! The place is just great with its botanical garden (just WOW), the fancy bar/restaurant and the swimming pools (one of which is filled with thermal water), as well as many other places where you can chill or enjoy the beautiful sunsets of the island. The apartments are clean and nicely decorated. The tenants are all really nice and helpful. They give you many tips about Ischia, they may also arrange a transfer from the airport to the hotel (including the ferry tickets) which costs 45 euros for 2 people and 72 for one (which is a great value for money considering the taxi / ferry fares plus the advantage of not having to think about anything). Besides, the hotel is just 10 mins away (by car/scooter) from the beaches of Chiaia and Citara as well as from the centre of Forio. Further, they have a free parking ! To make a long story short, we had a GREAT TIME and will surely come back!
Cons: Nothing !

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Paula was absolutely wonderful. She persistently made sure we were comfortable and knew the best options available for us to visit in terms of entertainment. I wish I contacted her before my stay because she is very resourceful, especially in regard to traveling to and from the island. The breakfast was SUPERB. Everything FRESH. Could not recommend this place enough.
Cons: I loved everything about the stay, but be aware that GoogleMaps doesn't navigate the driver (self or taxi) to the correct location. Also, per the island and not the place, I wish I had gotten an international driver's license to drive the scooter. Taxis and buses were not reliable modes of transportation, and while walking was fine, my wife was under the weather and didn't enjoy walking as much as usual. The furthest distance we walked was 1.8 miles for about 35 minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room and excellent view. Bathroom ultra-modern. Great breakfast served on balcony. Paula was wonderful host. Note: our room was in main complex (not the apartment complex and not all rooms have same view)
Cons: The bedroom was a little on the small side but perfectly adequate for our needs. There was no significant drawback to this accommodation. We would strongly recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Just across the road from a lovely beach and only a few minutes walk into the lovely town of Forio or nearby restaurants and shops in either direction. Our appartment was very spacious and had everything we needed to be comfortable including well fitted mosquito nets over all the doors and windows. The appartments are set into well maintained and very private terraced gardens with lots of different areas that you can use and enjoy. Paula has excellent English and good local knowledge and was always available to make restaurant reservations and recommendations or help in any way.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was very well located within a 5 minute walk to the main centre of Forio. There was a great pool area with one outdoor and one indoor (heated) pool in the complex. The apartment had a lovely balcony overlooking the marina at Forio and also a large terrace to the rear. The facilities inside the apartment were very good, with everything we needed for a 1 week stay. Overall very nice place
Cons: There were a lot of steps up to the apartment, ok for us as a reasonably young, fit-ish couple but could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues. The balcony had a lovely view but it was unfortunately situated above a very busy road - we still enjoyed the balcony but it wouldn't suit anyone looking for a peaceful sea view (the noise was very minimal once inside with the door closed, so no impact on sleep - you also couldn't hear the road from the rear terrace)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view from the window was beautiful. The reception and help from Paola was exceptional and the garden where we enjoyed relaxing and eating some meals was really good. The swimming pool was excellent
Cons: Maybe the apartment could have been a little cleaner and brighter but that did not bother us as everything else was so good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Host was very friendly. Bathroom in B&B very large 2 mins walk from centre
Cons: Nothing that springs to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic welcome from Paola and her mum - central location, fabulous room with great facilities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place made our trip more than perfect! Located in the heart of FORIO town (my favourite town in Ischia island). Paola, the owner, was just amazing. She gave to us all the tips for restaurants, how to move and places to visit. The room was super clean, spacious and bright. Big bathroom and massive shower. The view from our room balcony was spectacular (sea view). In the morning, Paola brought to us the breakfast (salty & sweet) directly in our room balcony :) Also we could use the private garden that has a swimming pool! Opposite the house, there is a bus stop that brings you directly to POSEIDON in only 15minutes. Great place, great service, we will definetely go back to this lovely place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Proficient hostess. The view. The breakfast.
Cons: What a spectacular hidden gem. From the moment I booked till we departed Paola was the consumate host. Every little detail was proficiently covered. The view, the atmosphere, the breakfast....and did I mention our host!? Step off at the port of Forio and walk across the bridge/ city center a few steps to this hidden gem. Enjoy the pool and sauna. Relax and have the local delicacy of rabbit. And don't forget a nice local wine. We will return. Grazie dear Paola. Please come to Charleston.

Pros: Stop searching for a place and book your stay at Tenuta Del Poggio Antico! This was truly an oasis in Ischia - it felt like paradise. From the moment you arrive you are treated to breathtaking views, fantastic accommodations, and amazing food. But what makes this place so special are the people who run the hotel and their staff - they take care of every detail to ensure you have a memorable visit to Ischia.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. This place is a slice of heaven. We came two years ago and vowed we'd come back and we just spent five incredible nights there. We love everything about Ischia - the scenery, the lush green mountains, the turquoise oceans... but most importantly, we love the oasis that is Tenuta Del Poggio Antico. It is just gorgeous, beautifully located up the mountain, the rooms are well appointed, bed is comfortable, breakfast is delicious and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We made great friends with everyone, including Antonio the fabulous taxi driver who took us everywhere and Roman who operated the shuttle that takes you to Forio. Thank-you to the whole team at Poggio Antico. We will be back AGAIN!
Cons: Honestly, nothing. I liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else is great about this property. One thing that exceeds it all the exceptional service provided by the staff, the best we received on our three week trip . Highly recommended for nice relaxing holiday.
Cons: Nothing, everything exceeded expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, setting of hotel as beautiful and staff very helpful. Owner operated
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice, but that’s where the good stuff ends.
Cons: We found the breakfast was a really poor standard. There was rarely enough of it, nothing was fresh. On several mornings the selection of fruit consisted of a couple of bowls of fermented melon. There were sometimes no pastries at all (and even then they were horrible) and the staff didn’t replenish food without being asked. We also found one members of staff in particular rude and unhelpful (guy on the front desk who I think may actually have been the owner). We were really disappointed by the service as that was what so many reviews spoke positively about. We found him so unhelpful that we actually stopped asking for help or asking questions because it was easier to just figure things out for ourselves.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent family run hotel. Spacious and clean. Very peaceful place and perfect if you want to relax. Staff are brilliant and so helpful. Maria in particular was fantastic. Free shuttle service offered in the day to and from Forio or Sant Angelo is an added bonus. Breakfast (included) and lunch available and both reasonable.
Cons: Very early check out - 10am. A bit more secluded than expected but no complaints about the hotel itself.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views, very friendly staff, quiet and great facilities.
Cons: Have to rely on public transport to get around if you don't have a car, but the free shuttle service was excellent. Breakfast could have been a little more varied.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Our favourite things about this place was the views and more specifically the sunsets. We loved the pool and the option to shuttle to nearby places. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had a relaxing stay!

Cons: If I have to say something than I would say the room can feel a bit dark, but I would highly recommend the seaview room as you get a huge terrace

Pros: Everything about the Hotel Belvedere was amazing, from the friendly staff to the beautiful setting with views of the sea and surrounding hills, staying here really enhanced our trip to Ischia. There is a great pool and the rooms are spotless and cleaned daily, fantastic food with fresh fish dishes nightly, really couldn't find fault with anything. Pros: Friendly staff, wonderful pool, great location (some people may object as there is some distance and altitude to the beach, but great view, and close to bus stop). Citara beach is IMHO the best beach on the island, Maronti a close second. Dinner and restaurant a la carte is great. This was our second stay there and we would come back again.
Cons: The breakfast is a bit dull and it takes ages to refill the empty trays.

Pros: Staff, position, cleaning, pool with amazing view
Cons: The breakfast was not the best

Pros: Vincenzo was an amazing friendly host. He was very accommodating. We plan to have another trip at this hotel again soon!

Pros: The brekfast was very good, with a wide variety of choice among fruit, cakes, both white and brown bread, etc. Food was delicious. We had dinner twice but, qute frankly, food quality was somewhere between fair and poor.
Cons: Please improve quality of TV signal which was desperately poor.

Pros: The breakfast is amazing. The supper also good and always change. The supper was even to big for me, so be ready to eat a lot. The stuff is quite hospitality.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great beakfast, comfortable room, very convenient location for the beach.
7.1 Good
Pros: The cleaning was done daily and was very good. The building is a beautiful place and the rooms are too. Francesco was very kind and helpfull!!! We appreciate that he speaks english!
Cons: 1. Breakfast was between 8.00-10.00 and at 9.00 there was no food. The omlette and bacon were always cold. They had an electricity black-out and refused to bring food ( croissants and salami), although these have nothing to do with electricity. The breakfast staff always had a wrong attitude. 2. In the evening, there was no hot water at the shower, although we told them about the problem. 3. The bidet broke in the second day and was fixed in the last day. ( we spent 5 days there) 4. The staff told us that we couldn't bring and eat food from outside of the hotel, even though we only had breakfast at the hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hotel Punta Imperatore offer some basic facilities. The hotel is very close to the beach and offer a free parking.
Cons: The quality of food is not very good (breakfast is OK, but you definitely want to have lunch and diner outside). The customer service is not the best I experienced: when I arrived, they put me in a room, the next day they told me i needed to change. I booked a double and landed in a single room, They did not mention , and I have to ask them to adjust the price. Some staff are nice, other are rough. The design of the hotel is old and the furnishing more than basic.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing panoramic view over the ocean and sunset. Huge room for 5 people although we were only 2 staying there. Super comfortable beds. The poolarea is clean and almost empty probably because the beach is 3 minutes away. Also the busstop is around the corner that will easily get you to Forio and the Ischia port among other places. Good selection in the breakfast buffet. Nice and helpful people in the staff. They have a big terrass on the third floor where you can hang your clothes and towels to dry. Overall good value hotel with ok standard.
Cons: Not a lot of good or cosy restaurants in the area. We also had some issue with ants but the staff helped us spray them with insect spray.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice breakfast, perfect location, staff was polite and friendly. The view was incredible, especially the sunsets!
Cons: Air conditioning was very loud and still didn't cool the room down at all.

Pros: Nearby the ocean, even a private path directly from the hotel facility to the beach. Nice warm pool, perfect in the evenings. The hotel breakfast was nice, with a fanstastic panoramic view over the ocean. The restaurant in the same facility served the best Italian food, good service and a chance to dance in the evening. Buses go nearby!
Cons: Hard beds :(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has a lovely view and close to the beach if you walk down steps. Room Small but clean with lovely view of bay.
Cons: The manager was not friendly or helpful. When we wanted simple information like busstop she would respond rudely. It seemed like an effort to assist us. She should work on her people's skill. No coffee in the room and only 1 cup allowed.
6.3 Good
Pros: We could walk down from the hotel straight to the beach. They let us leave our baggages after the check out in the hotel's hall.
Cons: one morning at breakfast, the juices were over and also the cheese. The lady at the reception was a little rude.

Pros: The views were spectacular.
Cons: The pool was out of use, no-one at the hotel told us why or how long it had been closed. It looked as though it had not been used for some time. The hotel bar was closed, no fridge in our superior doubleroom. Air con came at an extra cost, which we only found out upon departure ( we just thought it was broken)
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The view of the sea and beach from the balcony is very nice, since the hotel is situated on a mountain.
Cons: Warning! The customer treatment and service from the host/hostess/owner was absolutely awful from the start till the end. I have never experienced such a rude behavior. The room was very small, not very tidy and the beds were very hard. The pool felt dirty.

Pros: Good location nearby the beach. Beautiful seaview from the balcony.
Cons: The staff in the reception were very unhelpful and sometimes extremely rude. When we arrived they took our passports and said that we could get them back in a few days - with the explanation that "they had to give them to the police". After Three Days we Went to collect our passports. They layed openly in the reception-easy for anyone to take-and no staff were there. We took our passports and the staff never commented this, probably they didn't even notice that the passports were gone. The rooms were smaller than expected - we booked superior rooms 22 kvm each but the rooms were only 14 kvm also there was a cost for aircondition on 5 euros per night/room. Breakfast were included but very poor, not many options and if you wanted more than one cup of coffe/tea you had to pay for it. The pool seemed Dirty and the water was not clear, you could not see the bottom of the pool. When we checked out they charged us extra for pooltowels (that were to be free according to booking) and also for minibar in the rooms that we had not used. When we questioned this the staff threatened us with the police and said that we just had to pay the stated amount. He was extremely rude, actually we have never experienced such treatment from any hotelstaff ever.

Pros: The view from our room and from the breakfast area was very nice because the hotel is high and fare from everything. The lady at the breakfast was the only friendly staff of the hotel.
Cons: The access to the hotel was very difficult , the beach is really fare and the city center as well. We have booked a big room and upon arrival the owner has given us a small one and when we complained they made as if they made us a favour to change it. The pool water is super hot and during summer it is impossible to swim and enjoy the pool area, be carful ! The hotel charges 2.5 euro per day, per person for pool towels ... so be aware as we didn't know and no one told us. The owners of the hotel were not friendly at all and actually very rude. As the island is amazing and offers a lot of options of hotels I really suggest to not stay here and look for something with a better location and better staff to have a relaxed stay and enjoy your time.
