Pros: The entire hotel is very old style, while it does bring it's own charm some people might like a bit more modern style. I personally don't mind a little Showa :)
Cons: The room smell of tabaco and can't recall wether we had the choice between smoke or non-smoking. I could hear the crossing sounds from the streets very well and they don't stop, bring ear plugs

Pros: Located right in front of the main station in Fukushima, it is very easy to get to. The beds have build in radios with alarms, so you can set the alarm or put on some nice background music right from your bed. The breakfast was also very good.
Cons: The breakfast first starts at 6:45, which is a bit late if you have to catch an early train from Fukushima station and you do not want to rush your eating.

Pros: breakfast was of poor quality, meals quickly finished and were not replaced, terribly cold in the room at the end of October, no way to control temperature in the room, given by request heater was noisy and obsolete, pillow was small, small room

Pros: The hotel is older but very well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. It's a really good stay for the price. The front desk staff speaks enough English to get by. Some of the night staff does not, but they were very accommodating using Google translate. Great experience.
Cons: The bed is a little hard and there is no air conditioning, but the staff gave us a key to open the window. Parking was about 500 yen and a block down the street.

Pros: Location is excellent with very near Jr station and surrounded by various department stores and restaurants.
Cons: Breakfast is poor valuable tests and very limited.

Cons: One could not open the window. It could only be done by the front staff that we had to call back to close the window.

They know when to assist guests and how to provide the private space while most hotels and inns in Japan, for an instance, tend to give too much vocal greetings like entering the restaurant. With the Japan Rail Pass, the location by the station was perfect to travel in and out during the day and night (perhaps the closest hotel to the West exit at Fukushima Station) . Very clean and quite quiet at night with comfortable beds.
Cons: The room rate fluctuates depending on weekdays or weekends in addition to the seasons, although it seems to be customary in Japan.

Pros: The facilities are excellent, clean & really breathtaking. The hotel it self is full with history. All the decoration & design will feel like you're living in the old tranquil days. Not forgetting the wonderful & scenic onsen.
Cons: It's quite far from the city, but that's what you'd expect when you want to get away from all the hustle & bustle. The free shuttle to Fukushima station is great, but can be better with more flexible time slots to cater different guests.

Pros: The dinner and breakfast spread were beyond our expectation for the amount of money we paid. Staff were friendly despite being an onsen hotel. In addition, the shuttle van driver even tried to show us some of the places of interest on our way back to Fukushima City.
Cons: May be the sound of river flow is a bit "noisy" especially at night.
