The hotel is wonderfully located very close to the center of Galway and all activities. while being a 1-10 min walk from anything you could want, its also quiet. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. The beds were fairly uncomfortable, the amenities are not terrible new, but are current enough to satisfy and certainly high quality in galway.
convenience, cleanliness and efficiency. perfect location, great parking. Stayed here several times and cannot find any fault to report
The location is great, right in the city center and only 15 minute walk to the beach and it is a very clean and comfortable. Stayed here be fore and would stay here again the next time I stay in Galway.
location room was very noisy, no breakfast included, had to pay for carpark, not good value for money
Nothing Room, Bathroom facilities, lack of heating
Staff very friendly, professional and prompt in accommodating requests. Do Not Disturb sign and. Make Up Room sign practically identical. If one grabs Do Not Disturb sign at night one can easily grab wrong sign (as I did) and be awakened early by the maid thinking I wanted my room cleaned. Very aggravating!!
This was a lovely hotel in a great location. The staff was great & rooms were very clean & comfortable. We loved that you could walk to everything-restaurants & shops in one direction & just over the bridge the Salthill Promenade for a beautiful walk. We arrived on the weekend & it's kind of a party town on Fri & Sat. We loved it but when return I think we'll come Sunday thru Thursday.
The location was excellent. The bed was to small.
The hotel is well located, walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The staff is very kind and the rooms are clean and affordable. no complaints
The front desk staff were very helpful. We arrived later than we had planned and were concerned about being on time for a scheduled concert. We were checked in quickly and given easy directions for where we needed to be. The next day when we were checking out and inquired how long our parking voucher would be effective, Jan very helpfully suggested we wait to purchase it so that we could explore More of Galway. He stored our luggage for us and gave us great suggestions of where to go and what to see. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The rooms were very warm, even with windows open.
calm / kindness
When we checked in we did not get the room we had requested. The check in agent was not willing to change our room. We had to get the manager to help us. He made the changes that were needed and we were very satisfied. After that the manager checked with us each day to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. At the end of our 3 day stay the manager even got our car out of the garage. The garage that the hotel uses is just awful. very tight corners, and hard for out of town guests to maneuver. They should find another garage to use.
location and friendly staff
very easy to the town, right there. nice people, had a laugh or two. pubs are good, staff are friendly
great value excellant service really enjoyed stay
I have been before found it a good hotel
it's location was very convenient it did not have it's own car park
Ideal location. Very comfortable bed.
The staff were lovely. Room clean and comfortale On our first night we were in a room facing the main street. The noise was extremely bad and we got little or no sleep. We contacted the receptionist who advised that she woud relocate us to a quieter room the following morning which she did. That was perfect!
The receptionist on duty was particularly friendly More variety at breakfast would be nice
my family and i love the eyre square hotel for its convenience friendlieness and comfort everything perfect
it was very central to everything staff were brillant cannot fault it for a stag weekend I konow its the same in most hotels but breakfast was finished at 9 we were hardly in the bed
Beautiful décor, excellent location, fantastic breakfast. Close to parking as well. Walls are a bit thin, so light sleepers beware.
Service and location Somethings need a renovation (doors, bath tube, windows...)
Rooms spacious and very comfortable. Nothing
The staff goes out of their way to make your stay perfect. Nothing
Lovely hotel and excellent location room a bit stuffy
Location was great and all staff were very helpful For the price the full Irish breakfast was very basic.
Walked the area, toured
Friendly staff, welcoming atmoshere, great location comfortable rooms. Took a while to work out how to turn off the air conditioning which was making the room cold.
First, after some confusion (our problem) finding the car park, the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself was a wonderful surprise, a bit old world luxury, with lots of dark woods, polished brass, and oriental carpets. Room had all you would expect and more. Great breakfast as well.
Staff and the attention to details, nothing escapes. Always on top of their game. Park House knows the definition of hospitality.
The professionalism and friendliness of the staff at all levels, from management through to porterage
location, free parking cleanliness of room
Staff was wonderful and welcoming..room was comfortable..loved having a sofa..general feel of hotel was great..best location to train, bus and restaurants Old fashioned blow dryer
The room was beautiful. very nicely decorated.
Great hotel, excellent staff, central location, and a really nice Christmas atmosphere created in the hotel. We have been to Germany for the last three years at this time and I would have to say that the House Hotel surpassed any the hotels in Germany that we stayed in for both value and ambience. In one word ,none.
The comfort of the room was excellent. It was also very quiet - no traffic noise at all.
The lobby/seating areas were very comfortable and relaxing. Staff excellent. Rooms a little small
great location and an outstanding restaurant.service second to none.rooms a bit small but its hard to fault this hotel.
Clean, smart, friendly ... good customer service and nothing to grumble about or spoil relaxation. Nicely fitted out Parking arrangements are a bit of a drag
On saturday night they downgraded me to a worse room
this is one of the best hotels i have stayed in i asked that the towel heater be looked at as it was not working and they told me it would be looked at and never was so that was dissapointing.
It was very comfortable, luxurious and the food especially the breakfast was lovely.
I really enjoyed no
THe hotel was fabulous and the room was very comfortable
The hotel's location is ideal. The staff were helpful and friendly. There was no parking facilities on the grounds of the hotel, we were to use the nearest public car park. Our room was not ready on arrival, the reception rest rooms were overdue a clean. As this used to be the Great Southern Hotel, I was keen to stay here but disappointed as not up to the standard as the Great Southern Hotel. Breakfast the following morning was disappointing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is situated right in the centre of town.
complimentary glass of champagne and valet parking
Outdoor hot tub
Beautiful hotel with spacious and elegant rooms at the center and heart of Galway, only a 1 minute walk to the train station and a 3 minute walk to the Latin quarter. The hotel is in a beautiful stone turn of the century building that has been updated with all modern amenities. The rooms make you feel like you're staying in a palace.
good location no water in the room which i would expect 4* to have and then charged 8 euro for 3 small bottles , breakfast very basic and parking again there was a charge
the location is very good
staff and restaurant room pokey, paint falling off ceiling, no air conditioning, fridge broken, poor standard for its star rating
The location is fantastic really central. The staff I dealt with were excellent receptionist and Porter.
Excellent value- we got a special deal for 26euro for 2 people including breakfast! A hostel would have been more expensive. We are still wondering if it was a mistake! The decor is looking a little tired for a 4 star.
The Location The Bar The rooms The style The staff was helpful enough, but not the most welcoming front desk I have ever come across. The breakfast room is a bit like a cave.
Stayed here for one night. Hotel and staff are nice but no different to your average hotel we paid E200 and felt it was far too expensiv for a view of a wall. Towels in the bathroom were stained with dirt. Parking cost e8 for the night and someone had tried to steal my car and there is no CCTV
Location Breakfast - some items under cooked and not very nice. Directions not very good - it would be helpful if the roundabouts were named for those coming from different directions.
between oil tanks and scrap heep
Beautiful room and location also ideal for city centre
breakfast room too crowded at times
5 mins from centre, view from room of car park, restaurant closed, steam room not working.
There were 3 twin beds! Enough room for all of us! And a great staff.
Staff with very poor english
the place was really clean, welcoming and the comfort was great. great bar food as well. the service in the bar was slow, (maybe just a once off though)
Very central location, free parking 24 hours, some of the hotel staff (Jennifer) Rooms did not have all the facilities I expected (fridge, mini-bar...), not very nice toilet, tea-pot dirty with limescale, some staff were not friendly... I think the fare is too high for an average hotel
beautiful, stylish, brand new b&b in the heart of galway city center. we loved it. Being so central some rooms might be noisy because of the pubs on the street. Separate hot and cold water.
Loved the location. It´s the perfect experience for a weekend break in Galway.
We were not allowed to stay because we arrived at 1045-11pm...they had no one to open the door and forced us to book elsewhere
Lovely small hotel , i really like the decor and how tastefully some of the original features were restored, room was lovely, bed and bed linen luxurious and very comfortable, staff very friendly. i thought the room was a bit small. and some of the services like iron & ironing board & hair dryer werent in room as described, also no wardrobe for storing clothes,
Dominic the owner was simply fantastic went out of his way to help me a number of times The noise outside - I stayed on a Friday night and the hotel overlooks a busy night life scene - was very noisy but I imagine this would be fine on a weekday night
Great location at a reasonable rate. Friendly staff. Slightly outdated decor
Location, large room, breakfast service. Heating and hot water service insufficient
Stayed there for 1 night. Great location and very reasonable price. Staff friendly and helpfull. Very good breakfast. All was great except that there was no parking so if you want to stay at Victoria Hotel you have to pay additional 8 euro per day for Hynes Yard car park located 5 min walking distance from the hotel. Slightly outdated decor.
Good location, friendly staff Difficulty accessing Hotel by car on first visit, (Parking) due to one way system and traffic volume.
I enjoyed the room size and the overall price of our stay. No complaints
The comfort and beautiful heat of the hotel.
Staff were very nice
Good location, friendly and helpful staff (including the very nice chambermaids)
Great location, excellent staff. The bar was open late and I enjoyed visiting with the hotel's other guests. And the bartender--who was also working the desk--was a true professional and one of the most memorable people I met in Ireland.
the staff were very nice, food was lovely and well presented the description of the nightclub said that some rooms may experience some noise but trying to sleep on the friday didnt happen as we were obviusly directly above the club where there was a trance gig on which we were never told about, also trying to get back into the hotel after hours with gangs of people standing around would put you off
2 mins from erye square, room service, value for money would love to have stayed longer
great spot,very close to everything
Someone clearly put a lot of money into giving the hotel a face lift in the recent past. It looks up to date. Our room had three single beds in it that were crammed into the space you'd normally find a single queen bed. The light above the bathroom sink had come out of the wall and was flickering because of a bad connection. Overall the hotel seemed a bit dirty; just small impressions like the stainless steel elevators being covered in finger prints.
The hotel is in a great location in Eyre Square. Other than that, I could not find anything else I liked about this hotel. The hotel is dated and in need of refurbishment. No mini bar in room. There was a kettle, but no teacups or any kind of supplies of tea or coffee?? I asked for breakfast to be delivered to my room, but was informed, the hotel does not do this? Instead I was told to go to the dining room and carry back breakfast. The buffet on display was probably the worst I have seen during many years of travel. The hot dishes consisted of a few hard boiled eggs in a basket?? The staff were distant and unfriendly.
The location was great for shopping and sightseeing in the city Reception area - it is quite small and needs updating
friendly staff not quite finished re-furbishment and grouting stuck to bottom of the bath
There was little to no water pressure in the shower head even though they had expensive rain shower heads. It was a slow drip to take a shower. The room smells musty because it's OLD. We had 3 beds in our room, 2 of which were not cleaned because their covers were dusty - probably from people using the larger king bed and not the 2 smaller twin beds in the room. The mattresses were springy and soft - like sleeping on a trampoline. The hot water pot was full of white and black calcium build up that was never cleaned. The only good thing was the renovated bathroom with white tiles and a new toilet. There wasn't even free parking like my booking suggested. It was $10 for over night parking at a garage nearby.
Recently renovated, nice quiet room
Loved the accommodations and the staff.
Newly redecorated hotel, large room, very clean, exceptionally helpful staff Room facing onto Eyre Square can be very noisy
staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel's location was ideal for our stay could do with a good irish breakfast instead of the continental one
The hotel was located very close to downtown, with tons of restaurants and bars at our doorstep. Our room (a triple) was huge, with a very nice, large bathroom and even a sort of living room. Everything seemed clean. Due to its location downtown, it was rather noisy at night from the bar goers. However, it being close to downtown was a plus, so it was a trade off. Also, since the hotel took over the neighboring building, it was a bit of a trek to get to our room. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about, but I expect that from a continental breakfast
good location. Reception employees very nice
large room, great california king, staff friendliness, proximity to square and main entertainment streets. breakfast was mediocre. breakfast room had strong smell of stale bar beer and body odor. fruit flies present.
The location was excellent, great access to Galway city center, shops, restaurants and shopping. None
The location on Eyre square is the main attraction to this hotel. We were mislead about parking. The rate isn't 50% off as we were told during check-in; There is only a $10 daily rate. The room was sub-par:lack of hot pot for coffee, unclean bathroom, only two(very thin)pillows.Difficult door to open. Wi-Fi very spotty.
Room was bright, well laid out, good tv and channel selection, tea and coffee making facilities were appreciated in the cold weather! Breakfast was at 8am, which is quite late. Would of liked the option of having it earlier as I had to be at a course by 8am
Excellent staff, very friendly.
Exactly what I wanted! Clean, good breakfast, fast wifi, quiet part of town. Perfect! Nothing at all - an excellent two nights at a friendy place
spacious and warm room, delicious breakfast, very reasonable price. nothing
Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Great breakfast! Great location and there is a great pub with music right down the road.
Its was just what was needed! And the breakfast was amazing! By far superior to many expensive hotels! None
Friendly, clean, comfortable, affordable. An excellent place. Extra facilities very good including free WiFi and printing facilities which many top hotels do not yet have. None that I can think of!
Staff was very friendly...breakfast was wonderful! None
Very friendly kitchen staff. Private bathroom. Computer with free Internet for guests. Noisy
Excellent service georgeous rooms and very near city centre perfect
Fast check-in Near Eyre Square and town Tiny room Was called by reception before 12 to come down and pay for room so they could settle their accounts(?!) Air conditioning didn't work on a really, really warm night in a tiny attic/dormer room
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and clean. It was very central. No parking facilities
Cheap room Very small room with sloping roof
Good and fast service, high standard of the rooms, good location, quiet place. We didn't find any bad points!!!
Very handy, close to all the shops. Rooms clean and stay lovely.
Rooms were clean and presentable No service on reception. Walls were paper thin, could hear every other guest in the house at night when trying to sleep.
central location. excellent value for money, clean rooms, friendly staff. car parking was in an outdoor car park which was 10 mins walk from hotel. room small - but ok for us as only stayed one night
Very good location - right in the middle of Galway. Within walking distance to everywhere.
Very central to all restaurants and shops We enjoyed our short stay but maybe a bigger hotel for a longer stay would be more suitable
It was very close to the city and the rooms were modern and tasteful. The water drainage was very poor in the bathrooms, the sink and shower became blocked very quickly and took a long time to drain. Also one of the locks on the window was broken so it was very noisy at night.
