The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient; our room was a good size, attractively furnished/decorated, and very comfortable; the restaurant served delicious food, piping hot, and excellent value for money.
The food we had was good, but there was no cheeseboard (maybe they got bored of cheese). Staff friendly enough, but weren't very attentive. Breakfast choice poor if you didn't want "cooked".
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was good. Bed size in double room was a bit small. Prefer a kingsize bed. Towel rail in bathroom seemed to be on time control switch and not under guests control.
comfortable room and helpfull staff
friendly staff, excellent food, lovely location
The hotel is in a lovely Scottish town. It was easy to find and it had a good restaurant. It's a great location for exploring the Highlands area. Room was small and bathroom was extremely small. Door of bathroom had to be kept open in order to move with ease. Some of the staff did not speak English well and this made it difficult to communicate my needs at times. Walls of room had mold patches and this was not pleasant to for us.
Very friendly staff, lovely hotel, can definetly be recommended.
The booking in experience was good, the bar and dinner staff were very efficient, coupled with wide choice menu and food. The breakfast service was poor although the single member of staff coped well eventually.
Large room (in quiet annex) with good bed, sitting area and modern bathroom. Friendly staff and (for rural Scotland) late time for last food orders. Parking for hotel guests is a little limited, but plenty of free parking on street nearby.
The hotel had attractive local character.
beautiful surroundings, quiet and clean room shower was boiling hot or freezing cold, nil inbetween
Excellent staff in a good value for money hotel. Bedroom needed some slight re-decoration.
Nice surroundings as it is localized in forest, free parking, jacuzzi bath You need a car because it is far far away from restaurants, shops etc
Simple and pleasing Room 11 shower could have been better. Constructive criticism.
Mrs Iris is a wonderfull receptionist !!! Very nice rooms in an ancient building ! Rooms are comfortable and nice decorated. Breakfast good. The surrounding was very quiet and peaceful, we even saw a deer in the evening !
The Hosts went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay everything was A1
The room was very spacious, the staff very warm and pleasant and the location was very picturesque. For us, there were so many different places to visit and everything you need only a drive away so we were never short of anything to do. My only negative would be that the hot water from the taps was not hot.
The ambience of the castle, the meals, the friendliness of the staff and the lovely open fire in the reception area. I didn't see any lifts - what happens for disabled people who wish to stay?
Extremely friendly staff - we were upgraded upon arrival to a gorgeous suite. All staff we came in contact with had a very friendly greeting The food in the restaurant was excellent with two restaurants, one offering a more gourmet selection and the other pub type fare. Totally enjoyable experience
Loved the whole experience of a castle stay little signage to identify Tulloch Castle
veery dated. not 4 star - although they show you every 4 star grading they have. no heating in the room apart from an electric bar heater.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull The decor is very tired in places
Charming helpful receptionist (Joanne) Staff pleasant but not too manyof them. Good food well presented. Up three flights of stairs to bedroom. Radiators not working. Entrance to hotel unimpressive. Cigarette butts and empty glasses in vestibule.
historical context somewhat isolated location
We stayed there because it used to be my husband's ancestral home. A bit pricey
Bags of character and atmosphere. Real fire in lounge made it very welcoming.Staff very friendly. A genuine treat for my 87 year old dad, who has never in his life stayed in a hotel of this standard. I was sorry not to see the ghost.
Peaceful and quiet and staff friendly Would classify hotel as 3 star not 4 star
The Castle itself is very beautiful and the retention of lots of original features is amazing. The best thing for us was the location as we were visiting friends very close by. Obviously, given that we booked a family room and stated the age of our child, we were very disappointed to be refused admission to the restaurant with children! We had to eat our evening meal in the bar!! Sitting in a bar with a 3 year old is not exactly what we had in mind! We were to far away from other restaurants or that would have been our preference. This ruined what would have been a fantastic weekend break.
Comfort, breakfast excellent, enough to fill you till late afternoon.
Check in was easy and friendly. The room was large, comfortable and clean. Nice public bar on-site. Plenty on street parking. Breakfast staff were slow and unfriendly. New arrivals could wait a good few minutes before they were approached. For business people in a hurry that is poor service.
great staff great experience need more imaginative menu
Very spacious family room and attentive staff.
The staff are always cheerfuland helpful. I did feel that the meal service was rather too quick - I had no time to finish my pre-evening drink before being summoned to the Restaurant.
Very noisy cistern, shower not working properly. Lack of supplies in the bathroom.
Very friendly staff and excellant food. Hotel location is excellant for touring the highlands
Room. Food - evening meals were dreadful and came out of the dreaded 3665 van!
Our bedroom and staff
The rooms are second to none ,the staff are very freindly and most pollite. It is fantastic value, I would recomend this hotel to everyone Nothing I cant say a bad word about it.
Excellent wine list & value Excellent value for accommodation (This is not a recommendation to increase the prices)
Staff very pleasant. Dinner menu was poor and food overcooked. Poor lighting throughout the hotel. Difficult to read in bedroom and lounge
Comfy bed Too many smokers at entrance, just below our bedroom window. Designated smoking area would be good idea
Very nice, welcoming hotel. Friendly owner. Clean and well-kept. Good breakfast. Tv reception in room poor.
Lovely welcome, beautiful room, decanter of sherry, friendly people, great choice of breakfast, very tasty food, conveniently located
A friendly welcome. The room was lovely. Welcoming mini decanter of sherry in room, fresh fruit, lovely towels. Comfy bed, well presented. The breakfast was just stunning. Nothing was too much bother. Better choice and fresher than most four star hotels I've stayed in. All round -very good value. No, all was good.
The very frendly attitude of owners. No
Margaret was an exceptional hostess and made us feel very welcome. Craigvar is a lovely place to stay. The room and bathroom were both very large and clean.
The accommodation was very comfortable, the service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
Beautiful appointments and room, excellent facilities, excellent breakfast and dining facilities, lovely host
Very luxurious with terry robes, huge claw tub & bidet, and top quality linens and newly decorated. The Internet access was good and the owners were delightful and helpful. We especially enjoyed the full breakfast with fine china every morning. We would highly recommend this to our friends and family.
Very pleasant, quiet, good food and very nice staff. The signs says a B&B but was looking for a hotel.
Lovely rooms with kind and meticulous attention to detail from the owner, the papers, welcoming drinks, and interesting chat. Really faultless! Location central and pretty.
