Pros: I expected a lot from the location and from the reviews, and my expectations were more than met. The garden are remarkably well tended, imaginative, beautiful and in touch with the location - overlooking the ocean. I also like the modesty of the rooms - both of the rooms that we had were small, with regional, mid-century maple funishings, no tv, modern a/c (which I turned off when the weather cooled), windows to see and hear the ocean and feel the breeze.
Cons: leaving sooner that I wanted to?
Pros: Amazing staff. Wonderful site: peaceful and relaxing. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Limited ocean access (private properties on ocean shore around the hotel). Paper thin walls.
Pros: The facility is beautiful as well as the grounds.
Cons: Bathroom was very small.
Pros: The location is spectacular--you can walk 100 yards for the sunset and 200 for the sunrise--it is right at the end of a pennisula looking out at a beautiful fishing cove, small islands beyond, and then the sea with other islands and a lighthouse. The food was wonderful. The room was comfortable--very traditional and beautiful Maine seaside hotel.
Pros: Very relaxing , staff was excellent
Pros: Clean and quaint facility in a picturesque location. Good food and bar on site with a few nice areas to take a stroll.
Cons: Room and bathroom were on the small side, but that didn't really bother us.
Pros: This is a beautiful location and very relaxing. There is no TV in the room. Some rooms have ocean view and I recommend them. The rooms in the old inn are old and small but the whole experience is good. I will come back again. The staff is awesome, the lobster bake nights are very good, and the resturant staff are very accomodating.
Cons: there was nothing
Pros: Fantastic view and food! Real history to enjoy in a very relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: Small room and bathroom
Pros: The view was wonderful
Cons: No TV in the room and tiny bathroom
Pros: location and staff. Restaurant

Pros: The nature right outside our door. The fact that the screen door stayed closed and the breeze came in the entire time. The views are spectacular. The pool was amazing. And the gardens too. Having a little porch to have our breakfast and read the paper was so relaxing.
Cons: Having a mini fridge in the room would have been nice. The restaurant was pricey and not very allergy friendly.
Pros: Room was very spacious. Resort was beautiful.. Enjoyed the ice cream shop scoops and had coffee from the little shop every morning
Cons: Lost power on Sunday right about NFL kick off time. But it wasnt out too long.
Pros: There was a peaceful feel to the place and the nearby Popham beach was awesome. Not crowded
Cons: The facilities were a little older, the service was a little slower
Pros: The pool, the pilot restaurant, the tour boat
Cons: A bit run down. Definitely needs sprucing up. The trash bin right next to our room smelled horrid and the room was 80 degrees and the fans were very old and shook a lot.
Pros: This place is a hidden gem. We wanted to decompress for a long weekend and this place was perfect for that. Everything you need within walking distance, never had to drive. Wonderful views, spa, food, pool and staff. Reminded us of a Dirty Dancing compound environment with something for everyone. Bob the owner was so nice and even served coffee. This is a must visit and we plan to make an annual vacation.
Cons: Our room did not have air conditioning but even in high 80s it was tolerable with ocean breeze.
Cons: Room was hot.
Pros: We liked the view from our room, spectacular sunsets. The rooms was very spacious and it was great to have a small kitchenette available. The Pilot House Restaurant has a great chef.
Cons: the access to bowling and ping pong were limited to specific hours in the evening only.
Located in Georgetown, Grey Havens Inn is within a 5-minute drive of Georgetown Historical Society and Reid State Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful restoration with great attention to detail. Classic Maine seacoast feel. Room well appointed and very comfortable and as advertised. Owners were wonderful and the food was very good. We had duck and salmon and both were prepared well and wine pairing was good.
Cons: Breakfast was fresh, however a bit disappointing for such high priced lodging. Nothing hot except toast or bagels. Bed and breakfasts and hotel's often do a better job.
Pros: Beautiful place. Loved the porch and view and the large reception room. Evening meal was excellent. Appreciated the friendly and personal welcome and attention.
Cons: No suggestion.
Pros: It was beautiful peaceful very clean warm and friendly. The food was 5 stars

Ocean Gate Resort is a 64-room waterfront resort on Southport Island, Maine, less than ten-minutes from downtown Boothbay Harbor. Nestled amongst wooded pine trees on 33-acres of pure Maine-land, the resort is a modern take on the classic Maine camp experience and features a full array of recreational amenities including an outdoor heated pool and hot tub, canoes and kayaks launched from our private dock, miniature golf course, fire pit with Adirondack chairs, bikes to explore the area, and tennis and basketball courts. Guests are welcomed to the Resort each year from May through October.
Pros: Everything was prefect and similar to the ad. Very king staff, fabulous ocean view, resort fully equipped.
Pros: The Staff acted as if they cared. Not that they bent-over backwards for me and the fam, but these people are honest...they did what they said they would. I like that.
Pros: The location, staff and general atmosphere was very welcoming. It's an excellent place for a family with children to entertain via bicycles, miniature golf, pool, kayaks/canoes and other diversions included. It is on the water and the local fishermen and lobstermen are up early and headed out to work, part of the charm in my opinion but perhaps a detriment to some. The coffee and breakfast were excellent. We will definitely be back.
Cons: The building we stayed in was dated and in need of some updating, but nothing extreme.
Pros: Breakfast, amenities, staff, everything!
Pros: The staff were friendly, quick to deal with any issues and professional. Having access to kayaks was great.
Cons: The walls were so thin. The family next door argued and played their TV until midnight..couldn’t sleep. First night a big picture fell off the bedroom wall at 12.30 am badly scaring my wife. Luckily the picture fell on the opposite side of bed from where she was sleeping.
Pros: location, staff, clean, view
Cons: They seemed a bit overwhelmed by size of breakfast crowd. Ran out of silverware and plates! Also, did not replenish towels at end of first day.
Pros: I liked the view from my deck, enjoyed the breakfast, and saw that you were well suited for families.
Cons: Had difficulty maneuvering my oversized suv! more my problem.
Cons: Needs to be updated
Pros: Tranquil wooded setting with spectacular ocean inlet views. Met seals while kayaking. Room was immaculate, bed was comfy. Only minutes to the chaos of Boothbay Harbor.
Pros: Balcony and view!!
Cons: Balcony light too bright so we unscrewed it. Problem solved
Pros: The kayaks and canoes and paddle boards were great! The view from the room was great!
Cons: The rooms were dated and not the cleanest. The hot tub was not working the first day and then filthy the rest so we didn’t dare use it. The pool was ok but not at all what you expect when you have to pay a $25 resort fee daily. The basketball court had terrible rims - kids wouldn’t play. It’s more like a campground with a view than a “resort”! Which is fine if that’s how they advertise but felt like the resort oversells what it is online!
Pros: Property is well kept and the resort provides a lot of activities for you to enjoy that you wouldn’t otherwise get at an Air BnB. Staff is very helpful and great to deal with
Cons: We were a family of four, yet the room only accommodated towels for 3. We asked for the additional towels but did not get it. Iron in the room did not work, we asked for a replacement and the replacement did not work either. Pool could have used some skimming as there was a noticeable debris floating in it. Not big issues but did somewhat hamper the overall experience. I would still recommend and would consider going back.
Located in Phippsburg, The 1774 Inn is on the waterfront, within a 15-minute drive of Maine Maritime Museum and Chocolate Church. Featured amenities include luggage storage and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This was an incredible treat to stay at this relatively off-the-beaten New England track inn. The staff and especially the innkeeper Stuart were just so gracious throughout the stay. Laser focused on hospitality & locally sourced food & amenities made the stay exceptionally memorable. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Cons: No hay nada.
Pros: Absolutely amazing breakfasts- just a treat beyond measure to eat outside with that stunning view, plus just delicious food! Perfect coffee, as well. Stuart and Sarah were great hosts, and make the atmosphere very relaxed and comfortable while still maintaining a high level of service. The home is gorgeous and the rooms are impeccably decorated. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very quiet considering the age of the house- none of the usual creaking floorboards or thin walls. Great location as a base for exploring the area. Seal watching from the Adirondack chairs a special bonus.
Cons: Nothing- it was all great.
Pros: This historic bed and breakfast was fantastic. The owners were extremely gracious, friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. The breakfast was FANTASTIC! Everything was farm fresh or made from scratch. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We will be back!
Pros: Everything ! The property is situated on a very lovely hill overlooking the Kennebec river. Stuart and Sarah are amazing hosts at all levels. Before our stay by email and during our stay, they provided very good recommandations on places to visit, things to do (sail on a old schooner !), restaurants in the region and even down in Portland: they made sure all along our 3 days that we were making the most of our stay. In addition to that we will definitely concur with the other comment mentionning that the breakfast was fantastic ! Sarah is a chef that studied in France and every dish was homemade and absolutely delicious... We will definitely come back, thanks again Sarah and Stuart !
Pros: Just beautiful. Stuart and Sarah are doing an amazing job restoring the beauty of this property. They are welcoming and accommodating. The food is delicious!!!!
Cons: I went during the heat wave and historic buildings dont have central air. But the fan was great for sleeping. Nothing the owners did wrong just something to anticipate if you are partial to air conditioning.
Pros: Innkeeper Jackie, breakfast, beautiful room.lovely decorated house
