Comfort and Location No
Ideal for the railway station The description of the Superior Room was not what I got. It said LCD TV and larger bathroom the TV was very poor, but overall I was satisfied and would definitely stay there again.
Although I booked an alarm call in writing at registration, I did not get one.
Excellent staff, I hope they are appreciated. We travel a great deal and many a place has been spoilt by surly staff. The stairs. My own fault we were in rooms 12 and 9 and I have a breathing problem. I will remember next time to ask for a room accessible by lift.
warm, clean, freindly staff, good meal, good parking. noisey radiator
room with canal view Room was a bit stuffy through night
position, car parking, food very noisy kitchen and early morning brewery delivery
Pleasant bar and restaurant Good size room There is no lift, and quite a lot of stairs to climb
The hotel was near the railway station and convenient for touring the Yorkshire Dales. The breakfast menu had a good selection of hot meals, as well as continental breakfast, including fresh fruit.
good food real ale good sociable staff very close to rail station warm and comfortable
Good base for travelling around the Yorkshire Dales. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.
The room was large and fairly clean and the location was very good for us. We arrived at 13:50 but had to wait until 14:30 for our room to be prepared for us. The sheets were not changed after our first night. Although the room seemed clean there was an odd smell, maybe from the carpet. The breakfast service was very poor - slow and we had to request a change of tables because of a large stain on the tablecloth.
rooms were nice and food was excellent.would stay at rendez-vous again
Well organised reception and a super view from the restaurant over the canal and countryside. Spacious clean rooms. Disappointed that the restaurant could not accommodate us for an evening meal during our stay.
the service from staff was very good, professional and satisfactory the bed in our room was a little soft and due to that and the cold my wife and I have suffered a stiff shoulder, therefore you could maybe update the bed in that room..
The friendliness of the staff . .efficiency, local for all good ammentities . .and wonderful food. I stay at the Rendevous very regular . .ie . .once a week . . fortnightly, monthly. depending on my business arrangements. I have always had a very pleasant stay. Thank you.
use the leisure complex.relax in the room. control of shower.too hot
The hotel was easy to find and had a relaxed atmosphere. The amenities were well maintained. The hotel was fine however, the mattress was old and uncomfortable.
ideal position for touring the yorkshire dales. adequate car parking, helpful & efficient friendly staff.
Room at back of hotel, overlooking barges and wildlife
Clean and friendly Lovely breakfast Comfortable bed In need of re-furb a little old fashioned In need of update Basic bar facility Cramped parking
Very friendly owners. Very clean room with all facilities. Fast free wifi which is a great benefit. Highly recommend the evening meals - good quality home cooked food. Everything was great
Good value, convenient location, quiet, comfortable. Rather dim lighting in bathroom.
staff very friendly and helpful. felt very much at home. food excellent.
My room was clean, had plenty of available storage, very comfortable beds, easy to check in even though the owners were not at home, friendly & relaxed atmosphere, good welcome folder with plenty of local information, books & DVD's provided in the room and a wider selection available in the main building, umbrellas were provided in case of bad weather and a torch was situated at the security entrance. The choice available for breakfast was extensive. A great experience and I would recommend this hotel to everyone! The one slight negative is that the hotel is situated on a busy road so the amount of traffic was rather noisy, however the double glazing did reduce this drastically.
Good value for money. Nice homely atmosphere Shower not very special
Very good guest house excellent value for money
It was very clean, nice place and lovely friendly people. Good location, parking and wi-fi. Owner was very nice. Would stay again and recommend. Only one thing but even that isnt a complaint...Decor needs updating, feel like I went back to my childhood but it was still lovely and not at all shabby. Your gran would love it but you will too. puts a smile on your face for how 70s it is.
Check out at 10.30am seemed a little early!
I stayed at Norwood after seeing it listed on the Booking.com website. I was travelling on business and was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail to be found at Norwood. The rooms were immaculate and furnished to a very high standard. Plenty of coffee/tea in the rooms which isn't often seen nowadays. The staff were more than helpful and made my stay a pleasure. Breakfast was exceptional. I would definitely recommend staying here in the future.
Nothing. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The manager is the rudest person I have ever met.
It's clean. Beware this hotel does not do evening meals & you are not allowed to take food into the hotel so the only choice you have is to eat out or eat food in your car...the car park is small & found the staff short of a personality & very unaccommodating. I would not class this as a hotel, this is merely a b&b at hotel prices!
A very pleasant b&b with very friendly staff. Sadly no breakfast was available. DVDs and player free use in the room. Small car park
Breakfast was lovely and the bed was very comfy Room was a bit cramped and very hot The shower was useless, decoration needs updating and stained ceiling tiles need replacing
Super attention to detail with many extras and touches normally found in only the most luxurious and expensive hotels. Very clean, homely and friendly at the same time. Breakfast fantastic quality and choice with freshly cut fruit salad. If being really fussy, only tiny downside was slight water hammer from cysterne in en suite for a short while afer use!
Aladin's cave - full of surprises but every last need considered. Lots of fun and friendly warm atmosphere. Breakfast excellent. couldn't find it (not very onbvious). lack of places to eat around the guest house.
Our anniversary was celebrated with balloons on our door with a sign and balloons in our room.it was much appreciated. I was impressed by the style and quality of the interior design, comfort and soft furnishings. None
it was possibley the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in lots of small touches that set it above the average nothing at all
Furnishings of high quality, beds comfortable, breakfast fine. Overall obvious effort made to ensure a pleasant experience for guests. Nothing to fault
It has character and is not bland and modern
Being in a different building to the pub was good. Room and ensuite were to small (Room M34). No alarm clock provided. Iron provided but no where to use it. Coffee pot had previous persons coffee in it.
Very basic accommodation - would not call them luxury rooms Anybody booking through Booking.com are put in the Manor House and if you book direct with the hotel then you are put in the main building but be warned the main building is twice as much as the Manor House and there is very little difference between the rooms!!!!
Fantastic location, beautiful village and walks. Red lion pub very cosey with good food. Manor house felt a bit tatty. Room was ok but overall the place had the feeling of a hostel. Communal areas very dated and in need of some decoration and refurbishment. Some of the younger members of staff not very professional or interested. Very bright lighting in bar area which spoilt the ambiance of the place
Fabulous location.Staff very helpfull and polite.Restraunt is very reasonably priced for the quality of the food,.delicious....My wife loves the Molton brown in the bathrooms.A touch of luxury. :O) nope not a thing.
The Food and the location
The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the Dales Way. The staff were very helpful and attentive making the stay extremely relaxing.
The cosy atmosphere, location and friendly staff.
I loved the hotel & location it was very nice & relaxing! I liked everything about my stay
fantastic surroundings, great contemporary decor in an old surrounding, and very efficient and friendly staff with a personal service nothing
Delightful decor, a departure from traditional English country hotels
The food was excellent and the manager and staff were extremely helpful
Great location, nice hotel. When we were checking in, a previous customer was complaining about being over charged. The hotel agreed and refunded him. The also over charged me for drinks. It appears to be a systematic problem as the staff did not over appologise, it seemed to be a regular complaint.
Good-sized room, good facilities, helpful, friendly staff, excellent food, lovely relaxed atmosphere, great views, good standard of cleanliness. Only very minor points really. a) The smart CD/radio in our room didn't pick up any radio stations (no CDs to play either). B) No local walking maps available at reception, contrary to what's said in the 'Welcome Pack'.
Great food, friendly staff. Decor and fixtures need an update by someone with an eye for design.
I enjoyed the clean, comfortable accomadation. The location is particulary nice. N/a
Incredible scenery; friendly staff My room (#2) was looking a little tired.
excellent service and a complimentary pass to the health club at the devonshire arms hotel
Stunning location and beautiful hotel
Very relaxing and a welcoming atmosphere. We ate in the Brasserie both nights of our stay and the food and service were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were very impressed that the head waiter at breakfast knew our names as soon as we appeared both mornings. Our stay was not long enough!!
This hotel is very special and everything is seamlessly faultless. Our only minor criticism is that the bath was quite small and due to the location of the shower screen it was difficult to reach the taps.
The open log fires, the lovely room, the spa and the service were all excellent. I thought the bar prices were high.
A general attitude of 'wanting to help' from all the staff
The service was fantastic the tennis court is in poor order and in places is dangerous the loose grit beyond the base line could cause an accident
A very peaceful and relaxing stay and a beautiful part of England
Everything, but it would have been nice to have a choice of another bar with food served. We liked everything
The ambiance of a country house was very pleasant and still quite relaxed and non- stuffy Staff a little stiff at times but still quite helpful
The attention to detail was excellent. The staff are all top class. A beautiful place to escape to in beautiful surroundings.
Scenic location. Attractive building. Small room and bathroom. Claustrophobic use of dark brown wallpaper. No luggage rack. No trouser press. Iron and board only available on request.
the hot toddies and the lovely open fire. The breakfast and the service were top class. The friendly and helpful staff.
Its location was just what I wanted, being in the middle of the village and it offered car parking. The pub is old fashioned and had some wonderful features, it also had a nice bar with real ales which is something that I would look for in similar establishments. The room was available on our arrival which was also a bonus as we did arrive early. The food was nice and we ate in a nice dinning room away from the other side of the pub, it was warm, private, quiet also an added bonus. Otherwise there was the bar area which had a nice fire but was a bit busy if you wanted a quiet meal. The food itself was good, served well and hot, overall enjoyable and good value meal. The breakfast was also good, not over the top but ample for the type of acc It was a noisy hotel, when someone else showered the noise from the extractor or pump was really loud and would have woken anyone up; it was almost like a compressor. The noise from the bar at night was also quite loud, with some bad language (not good for young children) which could be heard in the early hours of the morning in the courtyard. I do realise that this is a country pub so its kind of to be expected in a way as the pub is in the centre of a village and its used well be the locals who keep it open. I did mention the noise from the showers and the courtyard to the manager who did agree with me about the noise, saying that he had also struggled to sleep a little but did say that he had a meeting with a senior executive.
The room was lovely with lots of space and beautiful furniture ~ the bar and dining room have the most fantastic ceilings ~ all in all it was a lovely place to stay ~ and we would recommend it to anyone. Long wait for our breakfast to be cooked on the first morning.
It was quiet and had the feel of a small guest house, but with far more facilities. A pleasant environment, i liked the secluded feel to the place. Compared with many other places i thought it was very fair value, in spite of some cheap and nasty room fitments. Breakfast was very good, and promptly served even when the place was very busy. The shower in the ensuite bathroom was dire, well out of date and the shower door was broken and would not close properly. Overall, they seemed to use cheap and easily breakable fitments in the room.
Nice area. Good parking. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. n/a
Staff excellent and very friendly. Free WiFi. Decent TV and freeview. All offered for a good price. Room was very cold even with the radiator on full all the time. The windows are old floor to ceiling single pane ones and therefore impossible to try and keep the room warm. No radiator in the en suite meant this was even colder.
Nice & peacefull. The room was cold so requested an additional heater. Although it was summer, Hotels should ensure that the rooms are warm when you arrive.
To be honest it served the freshest breakfast I have ever had and I have travelled a lot over the years. Not very extensive in choice but if you like English breakfast it could not have been better.
Good location and a beautiful building. We had a ground floor room for the first night, which we found rather dark, although a pleasant room. We were easily moved to a first floor room with super views of Pendle Hill. A lovely large room. The restaurant was most attractive, with a reasonably priced menu. Good food and friendly helpful staff.
roooms are all indivualy decorated on this occasion we had 4 poster bed in room n/a
Amazing location and fantastci Victorian features Slightly dated decor although clean and tidy
Food very good, staff excellent, friendly Room rather cold, television not in good position.
Staff freindly and welcomeing, room clean and well equiped, food excellant. None
The friendliness of the staff
Nice and comfortable room Hotel bit difficult to find in the dark
Food in restaurant very very over salted
We checked in late but there was little info on how to do this, ended up driving round and round and eventually the security guard after driving past for the third time asked who we were!
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the location was perfect for our Adventure Sports Event. We were surprised by the fantastic quality of food which was all freshly made and the bar area was comfy with quality plasma's and good beers We had to leave early and missed the Full English breakfast!!
My room was spacious, clean with everything you could need. The staff (lady) who served breakfast was brilliant. Made sure we had everything we needed. Food was good Didnt really like having to walk from the hotel to the breakfast
Our stay was very pleasant, room comfortable, The Staff very helpful and kind., they went out of their way to give us help when needed.
Excellent value for money, and very helpful staff.
Location, cleanliness, warm welcoming staff.
Very good location, in a peacefull rural setting. Nice resturant, friendly staff and a good sized comfortable room. Decor in the rooms was slightly depressing and we had to wait 30+ mins to get breakfast.
High level of customer care immediately evident at check in, and continued throughout my stay. Clean well appointed rooms and public areas of the hotel.
friendly staff friendly, helpful staff. We had a familiy room ok for one night , however it was too small if we had intended staying longer. would definately go for bigger room next time.
The Sparth House Hotel had a very cosy, welcoming feel to it. The breakfast room was intimate and well presented.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed - lots of storage space.
The wood panelled dining room and the log fires in the lounge. Only having a velux window in the bedrooms.
Staff were very helpful and couteous NA
Clean Small room, but we weren't there long enough for it to matter.
The staff were very friendly and polite. The food was excellent and the hotel itself was of a good standard. Our room number 25, the shower screen was stuck because of the rubber seal being faulty. The bar prices were very pricey.
friendlyness of staff no
The staff were very good couldn't do enough for us,the hotel was very homely and comfortable. The position of the hotel is very scenic . Couldn't think of any.
The welcome was really friendly. We were met at the door, shown around the breakfast room & lounge, then taken to our room where all facilities were shown. There are tea & coffee making facilities in the room but we were offered a tray too. As we had arrived relatively late & were not eating there Sheila told us a few places to eat in the area. Fantastic breakfast in the morning, nothing was too much trouble.
The owners - very friendly, made the extra effort, over and above expectations, to be helpful and to make our stay pleasant eg. prepared an early dinner, then drove us to our venue for an evening wedding reception. The food - freshly prepared local produce perfectly prepared and presented The place - spotless, comfortable and full of character Couldn't find any
Very friendly people, eager to please, accommodating. Excellent food Room was slightly small, but sufficient
The hotel is a grand old bulding in a lovely location. Staff work hard to please. The Falcon is tired and needs a facelift. Its staff also seem tired! and work hard to provide a decent service but seem to be struggling. Restaurant service was poor; dinner cuisine was average. our experience was lifted by being allocated a handsome and spacious four-poster bedroom at regular rate which made our stay enjoyable above all!
very small and cramped room, restaurant staff were inexperienced
The whole of our stay was excellent. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome. The meals and accomodation were first class. We look forward to staying again.
good size room good breakfast staff and breakfast had a very cold shower
food fantastic, staff brilliant room neds freshening up, a l;ittle drab, but didnt spoil our stay
Food was not enjoyable and the staff on duty for the evening meal were grumpy. Too many supplement prices on the menu.
The location, of course, and the genuinely helpful staff
The hotels location is very good and we particularly enjoyed the food which was excellent. Unfortunately the room was only average even though there were few other guests at the time of our stay. The room was dissapointing and insufficiently heated at a vey cold time. Room comfort is essential for the time of year.
Food was nice Very dated decor and terrible shower, no water pressure and no hot water for an evening shower.
