The owner, lively charming, spoke good English. And the restaurant on site, which was very good indeed. We thouhg that it was expensive, but after a couple of disatrous experiences elsewhere, realised that Switzerland is expensive, and the little place was good value. To our surpirse, our room was not en suite - there was a sink and a shower in the room, but toilets were at the end of the corridor - as the place was empty the first two nights, it was OK, but not what I expected. I shall check the website again to see if it is quite clear what one is getting. There may have been rooms with toilets; I chose a street view rather than a lake view.... so that may have been it!
Friendly - read my comment about late arrival and kitchen staff stayed for us ! Food creative and excellent.
nice location and property, great view
Relaxing environment. No push, no rush. Nice, easy-going village environment.
I like the design of this hotel and its location at the lake. also kitchen was great! It was a little bit cold at the room, but as we were tired we didn't ask to improve it
We were very impressed by the building style of this hotel as it has been built 500 years ago. At the same time we could enjoy of all needed comfort and the kind receiving by the hotel owner.
Nice location; excellent staff; good breakfast; good value Limited parking space
It was perfect. Decor outstanding. Quiet, charming. Excellent food and service. Lovely locale. I feel like I have found a true gem and look forward to returning to Danilo and Sibylle's care again. In fact in future I would stay there in the delightful quiet before flying out of Zurich, knowing that it's only an hour and a half from the airport. Truly exceptional and now one of my two favorite inns in Switzerland. No signage in village to help us find the hotel.
The rooms were nice and good shape, design did fit the several hundred years old house style. The dining room was very nice and food in the restaurant delicious. Also the breakfast was perfect for us (do not like to have sausages for breakfast). Location was good for one day ski trips e.g. to Klosters or Laax. Nearest ski slopes were just in five minutes drive up the hill. The personnel was very friendly and really made our stay very nice.
The hotel was beautifully kept and in pristine condition. A very, very special touch was that a teddy bear was left on the bed for the guests with compliments of the hotel family. Would recommend it to anybody looking for a wonderful break. Nothing at all.
We were very pleased with the hotel. Staff was very polite and nice. Rooms were clean and large. The facility was very family friendly. Breakfast was fabulous. We would like to stay again sometime.
Ease of access to cablecars. Free parking in front of hotel. Very basic furnishing and decoration.
the place, the location near the forest and the mountains ,fresh air,the rooms are large
During our stay they were renovating; floor covers in stair well and strong paint smell not very pleasant; rooms very small and simple painted brick walls and concrete ceilings certainly do not deserve to be called "Comfort Rooms"; breakfast very light; no eggs.
The staff, location and food were all that could be expected. The rooms however were basic.
very nice location, beautiful nature and views, good access to ski resort and friendly environment food prices too high
Lovely big room with nice comfy bed, great balcony and lovely views. Food in restaurant of high quality. Service in restaurant rather slow - nearly an hour wait from when we ordered to when our meal arrived.
The very very crazy disadvantage of this hotel is that the town is on the top of the mountain and it's car free, so you should park down and take the train to the top which cost about 13 euros per person daily+ the car parking which cost 5 euros a day. I suggest booking.com mentioned this point in the hotel page The very very crazy disadvantage of this hotel is that the town is on the top of the mountain and it's car free, so you should park down and take the train to the top which cost about 13 euros per person daily+ the car parking which cost 5 euros a day.
