Had a very nice and large room with a big balcony. The hotel is very often used for weddings or other celebrations. The location of the hotel is rather noisy.
The grounds were pretty but were full of wedding guests We checked out after one night because there was a wedding reception which took over all of the hotel and grounds. We could not use the swimming pool, relax in the grounds or eat dinner there unless it was a few feet from the wedding reception where the noise was phenomenal. They would not allow us to eat anywhere else. Very few good restaurants nearby which made this very inconvenient. Noise did not stop until late. There was another wedding the following day so we checked out and had to find alternative accommodation. No reduction was offered for the inconvenience.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a luxury hotel and very clean. We stayed at this hotel because of its location, i.e. close to family. The hotel appears to be set up as a function hotel catering for weddings as there main business with at least one wedding every day of our stay. For most of our stay we were the only guests.
Especially front staff is very friendly and support full. And you can get the information of nearest ferry station to the Capri island. On the top of the roof, there is terrace where you can see the wide view of Napoli city. During my stay, I can see the fire works which was held as a wedding ceremony celebration. The place where breakfast is served is under the ground floor, so I could not enjoy the atmosphere of outside air, which disappointed me first. But you can bring the food outside where table and chairs are settled. Secondary quality of breakfast is not so great as for example hotel at the Firenze, it is just served toast and some hams, beacons, fruit and other.
Good location for visiting Pompeii; good value.
Beautiful luxury hotel. Staff were fantastic, very attentive and polite. Room was very spacious and clean with huge balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. Location was good for Pompeii (5-10 min drive). Situated in a residential location, so no bars/restarants within easy walk, however, very nice hotel restaurant, which seemed to open just for us, apparently their only guests that night.
Room was comfortable and clean Overall very tacky with no substance. Grandure at a distance,up close very disapointing. Poor staff service, Jacuzzi did not work, toilet not working but fixed hours after arriving, Pool not available due to wedding party. Not to be recommended as a hotel by an means.
Wonderful dekor- beautiful surrondings. Thats it ! They are living on tours and big weddings. They are not used to have normal hotelguests.
The staff tried hard to accommodate us. The main purpose of the hotel seems to be as a wedding venue and the noise on the Saturday and Sunday nights was intolerable. The grounds are very poor, small and nowhere for children to play. The pool was dirty and closed off. Although the staff were friendly, the restaurant had a very limited choice, and we only ate there once, the breakfasts were very basic. Not 5 stars!
The rooms were incredible to look at, the grounds were great, and horses grazing were great. The pool was pretty. We found a great place to eat it was called Carmansitas, if you come out of the hotel and take a right it is 2 miles up the road on the left. Menu is in Italain however food was incredible. Almost every dish is 6 euros or less. The staff was not very friendly, except for Danny, he was great. The beds in the Luxury rooms were very hard and very uncomfortable. The refrigerator never stayed cold, and it was very hard to get a outside line.
As mr. Polese said: At our hotel we don't welcome only aristocrats, we treat everyone like a king, it's trough.
Charming staff, comfortable accommodation, incredibly different from the norm, quite kitch in a good way. Over the top, but one of the most amazing hotels we have ever stayed in. Would definitely recommend it to others. Quite an experience. Live groups/music on both sides of the restaurant in the evening. It was difficult to hear ourselves talk, but not a big issue.
We had enjoyed our stay in Grand Hotel La Sonrisa so much that at the end we just did not want to leave! Beautiful, comfortable hotel with big rooms and lovely pool area and garden. Very clean, very stylish and very friendly staff. The service was excellent.
Very helpful and happy staff, and the many things to look at whilst there. All Good.
The Hotel itself -Old fashioned Grand Hotel -very unique Too much decoration-in the middle of nowhere without roadsigns breakfast :cold eggs
Pretty much everything. Very little to say here.
Hotel was modern, clean and comfortable
We booked the hotel since it was close to the Pompei ruins. The hotel was clean comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Their restaurant had excellent very fresh seafood. So it met our objective. Although I liked the hotel it is in a very run down city. I would only recommend it for those that want to be close to the Pompei ruins.
The building is modern, clean and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. The staff is very attentive and efficient. The continental breakfast is excellent. We were even offered the services of a shuttle bus to reach the ruins and again in the evening to go out for dinner. The wireless Internet, though free, does not work in all the rooms. There is, however, excellent reception in the comfortable sitting area near the reception desk and in the garden.
Very comfortable hotel. Location is excellent in front of Pompeii. Quiet gardens. We had superior rooms which are very comfortable with excellent bed and bathroom. Very friendly staff. Breakfast was perfect. Nothing !
convenience to Pompeii ruins, friendliness of staff
Welcoming, clean , stylish The shower
great staff, excellent map, fantastic location for exploring the entire bay of naples as well as pompeii, clean hotel and rooms, the free internet, web cam and memory card reader was an excellent feature. Breakfast wasn't brilliant especially for a supposed four star. Have stayed in better three stars in the past, but it met our needs.
Very charming hotel with a warm and friendly staff.
Location was great and it had an "oasis" feel. Very nice nibbles available in the evening. Room was quite warm for the season and it was difficult to cool it off.
The breakfast was precisely what was needed - simple but filling. And the location is excellent. It was slightly tricky to find the hotel from the circumvesuvio train, but there's not a lot they can do about that!
The hotel was clean and pleasant with beautiful grounds, the staff were very helpful. The breakfast variety was limited, but it was fresh and filling. The location was excellent. The sound proofing of the rooms could be better.
Good location near entrance to Pompei ruins room was a little tired. beds were hard
Close to Pompei ruins and still a quality hotel. Price was very reasonable. Parking was a bit of a hassle but it was free, so no real complaints.
beautiful hotel with terraces and palm trees, staff very kind and helpfull the area is not so nice
Amazing staff, the comments on the other reviews are so true, Maria, Antonio thank u, u were wonderful. Francesco too for ur help. This hotel really should be five star, its service & facilities certainly are. I'd consider us to be experienced traveler's, this hotel surpassed all my expectations. You need a car.
Hospitality, attentivenes of staff, great garden and view over Vesuvio
very friendly staff and welcoming, lovely room exellent views great location, great food, very relaxing no
Perfect for breaking trip between Airport and Amalfi Coast - close to Pompey and Road - good pool to cool off in. Endearing staff tried hard. Not really - it's big and a bit formal - but that is part of it's charm.
I could find no fault at all with the hotel. For us it was excellent. N/A
The hotel is surrounded by a beautyfully decorated garden/parc, The stuff of La Medusa is very friendly and helpfull. Evrything in this hotel is excellent, well-cared and well decorated. They have a Vantaxi, which is not too expensive. Traffic in Napoli and in the different towns on the Amalfi coast is especially tiring. A good solution is to take the Vantaxi from the Hotel to go to the station of Castellammare di Stabia. The food is very good and you can ask for special italian preparations. We liked it!
fresh prepared orange juice excellennt bar nibbles
superb hotel with a lovely garden and swimming pool, friendly staff, not far away from the vesuvius, pompei and naples (by car) castellamare di stabia is not the place to be, the hotel is an oasis in a poor neighbourhood
the food was excellent, staff was friendly and spoke english. we slept above the restaurant and in the morning the staff was sometimes a bit loud.
Hotel Staff excellent except the pool attendant he had an attitude problem.Food and service excellent. The beds very uncomfortable
OUr view from the balcony was amazing!! The pool staff was not very friendly. All the other staff were superb.
Friendleness of the staff of shuttle bus service the shuttle bus times could have been a bit more frequent
Location and View, restaurant
Loved the location and the view of the beach No
The location offers stunning views of Positano. The hotel staff were very welcoming and efficient and the room, although slightly dated, was very comfortable and quiet at night. We used a car which was collected and dropped off at the hotel for us whenever we needed it. We didn't eat an evening meal in the hotel but the breakfasts were delicious! All in all a very relaxing stay. make sure you don't get a room next to the lift!
It was a beautiful hotel tucked away in the cliffs of Positano. The views were magnificant I didn't like that we had to leave! :)
Excellent customer service.
One of the best hotels we have stayed in and our holiday was an absolute pleasure Nothing
It was an excellent location, and we loved the view overlooking the town and the street action below. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was just fine.
We loved our private terrace with views of the village of Positano and the ocean. We liked being in the middle if the bustle of daily life. Our short walk to the town center and beach was appreciated. Enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace. Staff at Savoia were very friendly and helpful. Small shower stall.
Rooms were lovely and the staff were attentive and efficient. A bit pricey, especially drinks.
Very clean, nice and comfortable room and staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast at this hotel and service great. Great central location in Positano, near to city bus and coastal buses. Good value for the money. No.
The staff were very helpful. The hotel was ideally located close to the beach.
The location was nice. Good view from the balcony. The concierge was unfriendly. The concierge seemed upset since we did not use their driver for our travels in Positano. The bathroom toilet and sink were so close you could not sit straight on the toilet. The remote control for the TV only controlled the cable box and not the TV. The rooms were not cleaned very well each day. They never replenished our rooms with clean glasses or removed the used glasses and the floor was not cleaned daily.
The staff recommended several great restaurants, and also helped set up driver to take us to Pompei. The scenery was magnificent.
Positano and the Positea Hotel are hidden gems along the Italian Coast. What a lovely place to spend a few romantic days & evenings taking in the sights, the people of the food of this lovely fishing village upon the rocky coast of Italy. Twin beds pushed together was a little bit of a turn-off, but they were comfortable and we made do.
Rooms were as they were depicted; clean and fresh. Staff were very helpful in recommending excellent restaurants and taxi service made the evenings out so enjoyable as we could both enjoy wine with our meals. In room Internet was not working which meant we had to go to the lobby for access. This was a disappointment.
hotel staff and location
We absolutely loved the view...it was wonderful to have when you wake of a morning! A man at Reception was not pleasant upon arrival (he was not wearing a name badge) and it did not make us feel welcome which was unfortunate being our honeymoon. As a travel agent I was quite disappointed.
Staff was helpful and kind, especially for Italians. Arranged car to transfer us to/from Naples train station. Location was a little high up in the town. It made the trek to/from city center and the beach quite long and arduous. Still, easier to access than other hotels.
The view from our balcony! The beds were uncomfortable, but would still go back there again!
Loved the hotel & especially enjoyed the private terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Ocean. Hard to find such a good breakfast in Italy. Bus stop located in front of the hotel.
Location provided a convenient walk to the town center. Staff was very helpful! Rooms were clean and spacious, but nothing special other than the view. Wifi service was unreliable
great little hotel charming, clean little hotel in an Art filled environment. Centrally located, and helpful staff. Wonderful time there. We will be back.
Service from the staff, pleasant, cheerful and very helpful
The very kind and warm personell, the beautiful garden. We felt at home immediately. Just like we were part of the family. sometimes noisy in the night ( cleaning the streets, traffic ) but we did not find this very bad, especially because the things I mentioned above
Friendly service; garden Room a little noisy
Ask for Allesandro as a tour guide
I thought the Reception Staff were very friendly & helpful, they did all they could to make our stay enjoyable.
Extremely nice, helpful, and friendly staff. Staff positive attitude to hotel guests is really exceptional there. Very clean and very nice atmosphere. I strongly recommend Diana hotel for visiting not only Pompei and Vezuvius, but also Napoli. When you will visit Pompei you will be able to compare clean, attractive, and friendly Pompei and Diana hotel with situation in Napoli. Napoli is very interesting for visit but I strongly recommend not to stay there but in Diana hotel im Pompei. Napoly is just 25-30 minutes from Napoli cetral station by train.
Excellent location, convenient to historical site. Very small room.
The helpfulness of the staff, the beautiful courtyard gardens, secure car parking, in all a really good experience. I very rarely rate anything as excellent but this hotel is really close to being so. There was less sound insulation from adjacent rooms than I would have like, although the occupants were not particularly noisey.
After a long trip down to Pompeii, we were welcomed into the oasis of the Hotel Diana, by great staff and wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend.
We booked only one night and stayed for 3 nights :-) very nice hotel staff, perfect location in Pompei town centre, very clean, safe parking, internet ...
Great proximity to Pompei train station and a 10 minute walk to main entrance of ruins.
The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. They had no hesitation in preparing a full days schedule for a tour of the Amalfi Coast.
friendliness of staff and locality not much for breakfast
Staff very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect for visiting the ruins in Pompeii or the main shopping centre. No
They took good care of us. Someone was always there. They knew our name. Were very helpful in getting around town. It was close to the places we wanted to go. Pompeii was just a couple of blocks away. We took the train to Sorrento which was about a 15 minute walk. Our next stop was Mt. Vesuvuis which was a short trip. Very convenient location.
The hotel was in a convenient location, very close to Old Pompei. The staff were friendly and tried their best to help you find your way around town. The rooms are basic, but clean and satisfactory. The rooms aren't very soundproofed. I could hear, very clearly, conversations, televisions, dogs, and motorcycles throughout the night. The hotel is good for one or two nights, but not for long term stays.
It was a nice family runned hotel, located very nearby Pompei excavations. You can park the park behind the hotel in a safe private parking lot. We also had a nice balkony. Breakfast is good. People very friendly. No
It was the best hotle we stayed in in Italy! The people who ran it were incredibly friendlsy and very very helpful and kind!!! The breakfast was elegant the room quiet and clean and comfortable..the people were the best part!!!!!!!
Friendly staff let us into room at 11am to leave baggage and organised taxi for departure. Very noisy plumbing!
Nice hotel, 5 minute walk to Pompeii. Free parking, nice staff and breakfast
I loved he staff, very family oriented, good location, nice balcony facing the mountains, great bread at breakfast
Friendly, helpfull staff. Clean, comfortable room. Good views from balcony. Secure accomadation with gated parking.
I liked the location and the hotel staff. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. It was noisy.
This was the second time we have stayed at the hotel and being a family-run business it has the ideal mix of friendliness, helpfulness and peace that one wishes for in this ideal location.` We found our bedroom rather noisy as it was situated below the kitchens. We asked to change the room but as the hotel was fully booked it was not possible. Whilst slightly annoying to be woken at 6am it did not deter us from enjoying our holiday.
The hotel was extremely clean and well looked after. Not luxury but very professionally run and very neat and tidy. All staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. A very good atmosphere and a real pleasure to stay in.
Beautiful spot on the Amalfi Coast, and a good choice if you want to be able to walk to town/breach/restaurants/etc.
Great hotel with wonderful views. Staff were very helpful. Also, hotel offers free boat trips, great bonus. Bathrooms are very small and showers are too tiny.
The view, the terrace, the cocktails and dinner, the manager and hostess, the breakfast. The staff was helpful. Was nicely furnished. The matress and the pillow.
The view from our room was fantastic, the buffet breakfast was also quite impressive there was a lot to choose from. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel did not offer a shuttle service down to beach. Bringing luggage down to the ferry was also quite difficult so we had to pay a porter to do it. This should really be included in the price of the accomodation.
Location with fantastic view, excellent place for relax. Nothing!
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were very polite and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. There was a very pleasant atmosphere in the hotel.
the ambience of the hotel was magical and the staff were friendly helpful and so hospitable. the view from the bedroom was stunning. and the terrace off th ebedroom was a lovely spot to sit and relax at
Le Agavi is beautiful! It's set on the mountainside, just outside Possitano, Italy. The shuttle from the hotel takes you to and from the town.
Beautiful view. Great beach. Lift broke - so we had to walk 400 steps up and down to room. Not fun when you are on vacation. Also, felt staff was not honest about when it was going to be fixed. We were told one day then the next. Loud hotel. You can hear your neighbors very clearly. Ac was broken - thank goodness it was not hot outside. We were told it would be fixed - never got fixed.
The location and views The stairs and the venicular breaking down. A bit shabby around the edges as well.
The hotel is in a fantastic location , the view from our room (609) was just amazing,, the free bus service takes you to Positano which saves you 30 euro return trip by taxi. The staff were always helpful and the food in the restaurant coupled with amazing views over the sea and Positano was very good. The private beach was good too, we were there two days and had it to ourselves for most of it.We will be back For 5 star we cant believe there is not a kettle and some tea or coffee in the room so you can make yourself a drink , room service is fine but pricey.
The best part of the hotel is the private beach. It's a bit of an adventure to get down there... taking the outdoor 'funicular', down some steps, then another lift....but once you're there, it's the most beautiful and peaceful place to relax, swim and sunbathe. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning. It's only a small one but had everything we fancied - fruit, yoghurt, pastries, cereal, scrambled egg and bacon. Our private patio area was amazing. We had a table with two chairs on the upper level of the patio, and two sunbeds and an umbrella on the lower level. And the view was spectacular! The staff are so friendly, pleasant and helpful. If there was one problem I found with it, it's that the umbrella's on the beach aren't weighed down enough. Ours kept blowing over in the breeze.
Spectacular views, excellent service, and friendly staff. The beds were average comfort.
Amazing views but the hotel is very very dated and done with minimum amount of expense. Not good value for money -- it is 3 stars at the most
The amazing views from the balcony every morning and the relaxing atmosphere The beds were very hard and with two singles pushed together created an uncomfortable lump between my husband and I during sleep. Also due to the surrounding area there were ants in our room that needed to be sprayed each evening. Not a major problem as the hotel was amazing.
The location Pool not clean enough
Room and terrace with sea view were exactly as described to us on the website Wish it had a restaurant for evening dining
The staff were really helpful. Breakfast was basic but had a great view. Was 10 minute walk to get to Positano and you could catch the bus back up. Great location.
The terrace. The location.
The hotel has a wonderful staff (family run) and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
The views from the room were amazing. The balcony's were also a great surprise. They were very stingy about towels. They argued with us when we asked for another towel for the room (even though they gave us 1 less towel than the number number of people booked in the room.)
conveniently situated-- friendly helpful staff--
This is a wonderful easy-going hotel. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast good. The walk to the beach is 10 min and not too steep up-hill back. The room was big enough and the view from the room and breakfast balcony was absolutely lovely! The on-site car parking made it very easy.
Loved the balcony and views!! Very comfortable rooms as well.
Fabulous view, clean and tidy rooms, very friendly and helpfull staff Room was not soundproof, heard plumbing and people in other rooms
The balcony to the room was fabulous - enabling us to thoroughly enjoy the view
The view Not really
Very good hotel if you have car.Good price for good quality. We booked standard rooms, and received a superior rooms. Very nice staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the spa. Very good breakfast. This hotel has private parking. This pleace ist close to: Pompeji, Vezuvio,Sorento, Amalfii Coast and Neapol. If you go to Neapol take train from Vicko ( do not drive a car!!!!). Ask at reception.
Great location. Hotel facilities, layout and design were wonderful. The breakfast was amazing No
Fine. Well situated for visiting nearly everything by train and bus.The Hotel has a free shutle bus, bringing you to and fromSorrento as well as to the railway stations nearby. Really fine service. The restaurant should offer better meals. But the breakfast really ok.
location, view, noise of the road near the hotel
The room was spacious, modern furnishing, good working air conditioning, great shower and of course the private beach was wonderful
Very helpful staff! Beautiful room and very clean! I would definitely stay there again! Very good breakfast and dinner was also delicious!
the location was good for our purpose . Sorrento , Ischia , Napoli < Pompei . Easy to find , and comfortable rooms. The food
The front esk reception area personnel were outstanding and gave great service. I want to particularly site lia as most helpfull. Alphonse, Roberto, and Leonardo were very accommodating. The food service personnel did a terrific job including Ciro and Alphonse. They are added an immeasurable dimension to our stay. Please extend our thanks to them. The only proble for us was transportation. But all did work out well for us.
Great value for a four star. Fine location, excellent view and competent/friendly staff. Sould have informed in advance of 25 Euro/night parking charge.
The hotel was everything that we could ask for on this part of the coast. The aspect across the bay from our balcony was spectacular and the suite had all the facilities we required. We ate a few times at the hotel in the evening and the food was always good. Nowhere in Positano is an easy walk but the Eden Roc is in a great position to get straight to the shopping. Best of all were the staff. Many thanks especially to Simona, Pascal and Carlo who could not have been more helpful. Nothing!!
Amazing view. Dinner was great. Wine tasting, Service was outstanding Need to improve breakfast. Service was good tho
Absolutely beautiful landscape, spacesious well furnished rooms, extremely friendly and efficient staff, very convenient packing arrangements, everything is excellent! We liked everything, only cardboard doors were a bit noisy and not fully convenient.
The entire staff was exceptional
Hotel staff helpful and professional. Pillows were like rocks.
everyting about eden roc was beautiful. We loved our room, the view and the staff. The bed wasn't great, but easy to forget in such a great hotel.
Amazing staff, always smiling and cheerful. Nice views across Positano from the rooms...big spacious rooms with balcony...a refreshing change from the shoebox I had in Rome which was more expensive. 10 min walk to the beach, bus stop very close by so easy to get to Sorrento or Amalfi where you can catch the train to Pompeii, Vesusvius and Herculaneum. Would definitely go back. No complaints.
the stuff is very very nice! they help you in everything. This hotel is well known in positano and everybody respect it and their stuff so when you get to a restaurant you get the best seat! The position of the hotel is great!
The staff were very friendly, especially Simona. Location was excellent and the room was great! Antonio or Tony that made breakfast was very accomodating and his scrambled eggs were excellent. Thumbs up in all departments. I thank all the staff for the wonderful stay. Parking was a little pricey.
