A good idea for an airport hotel. Almost like a hostel. Real service even though there is simplified check in and check out. Well thought out room and superior amenities on the main floor. I recommend this for an surprised overnight. No provision for luggage.
I love the iPad-centric room controls. Great selection of newly released movies. Comfortable bed with a great TV setup. Temperature controls don't work very well - the room gets very cold at night even though I set the temperature to 70 Fahrenheit. The toilet and shower design are fun and just fine for a single traveler. When traveling with a partner, there "tube" designs dont provide any privacy, especially for the toilet. Perhaps adding a fan or some ambient noise to drown out toilet noises could help keep the mood romantic, hahaha!
We spent a night here in transit between Brussels and Den Haag. Walking distance from Schiphol Plaza. Self check-in and check-out feature was very convenient. Room decor was modern. All room light/tv/blinds were controlled with an ipad. WiFi was great. TV had a good selection of channels (for us- we watched comedy central). We got to store our luggage for a few hours after checking out which was extremely convenient. Hotel manager was excellent. There was a leak with our shower, which actually made it unclear how the thing worked! So we wasted almost an hour in the morning. The hotel manager was EXTREMELY helpful... wish we'd asked him for assistance immediately!
The check in time No place for suitcase
Bed was very comfortable. Very avant-garde. Mood lights, TV, everything can be controlled by the in room iPad. Bar and areas downstairs provide all kinds of environments for different people and activities. Buffet was good and reasonable. Charging 3 euro to use a major credit card.
Efficiency, comfort. nothing. it was perfect.
Clean comfy room, great common areas, makes you feel at home. Will definitely stay here again. 5 minute walk to the airport, no need for taxi or shuttle
Very nice shower. Clean, trendy room. Very unique. Room was small. Room Controls for lights, heat, etc did not work well.
Free TV & Movies Shower & Toilet in the room with transparent enclosure - not for the shy.
shuttle service to airport
Very easy check in and wonderful staff. Good shuttle service.. Poor service in restaurant. Young and not well trained staff. Good food though and reasonable prices
Very clean. Free shuttle bus to airport. But next time I will pay more to stay in airport. In this case the hotels closer to the airport were all more than 200 Euro, which for me for a transit stay doesn't make sense. Typical transit hotel with transit atmosphere. They even have a cheaper option next door for 49 Euro
Location is ok. About 10 min from airport, and short walk to bus station to go into town. Thin walls and very noisy all night. No air conditioning, was sweating all night. No mini fridge.
I like simple modern decor, however this was a bit to basic, Th staff was courteous and check-in was fast. The hotel was only 10 minutes away by free shuttle bus from the airport, and we did not need to wait longer then 5-10 minutes each way for the shuttle. We paid over $200 for a triple room, however, what we received was a "converted" double room. They removed the narrow desk at the window and the bedside table, and instead squeezed in an extra bed. The double room was already very small and basic, but with this change it was really uncomfortable. The two single beds that were pushed together to make a "double" (with an uncomfortable crack in between) was only separated by about a 15 cm gap from the single bed, not allowing to fit two legs side by side, therefore you had to shuffle in sideways to get to the bed. The only electric outlets were above this third bed, so since there were no desks or tables, the overnight charging of the ipads and phones could only happen on the bed, making it very uncomfortable to sleep next to it. In addition, the bathroom light could only be turned on with the entrance light, therefore if someone wants to go out to the bathroom, has to disturb everyone in the room with the light. A dim nightlight in the bathroom would be a welcome change. In addition, the restaurant at the 4th floor had a poor decor and mediocre food, and at 60 Euros for two main courses and a desert and water I think it is really overpriced. My lamb was likely over its teenage years, and my boys did not care for the hamburger meat either, although they usually love it.
Nice clean reasonable hotel. Recommended it.
I had allergy problems in this hotel and I could hardly breathe. There was also a mouldy mell in the air, I assume that was my problem.
Omg they were doing a contruction at the front so much noises
one of the cleanest hotels i've ever stayed in!!! staff was very friendly and helpful. will definitely go back!!
Quiet hotel, even though so close to airport
The food in the restaurant, the wonderful and welcoming open fire and the very high standard of interior design which was very stylish. We have stayed at this hotel over 20 times both on business and pleasure and love it. Despite this however the Manager was unable to offer any form of refund when we explained our Son and his friends would not be joining us for his 18th Birthday weekend as Birmingham Airport had been closed and all flights cancelled. a little understanding would have softened the blow as we were all devastated, especially as his Grandmother, to whom he was very close had died 4 weeks earlier and we were all really looking forward to a wonderful break. This lack of flexibility is my only critisism of what is otherwise an excellent hotel.
The Quad rooms are really huge and very comfortable. More than sufficient for our family of 2A and 3 C. The free bus shuttle between the hotel and airport is very convenient and runs on time. Reception staff were very helpful. They let me use their PC and allowed me to take a few pages printout. Rooms had no kettle. The walk from reception to the rooms using two separate lifts was a bit tiresome. No help from the hotel for this.
We stayed here two days(not consecutive) and the hotel was very nice! The first night we stayed we had a great room, it must have just been re done. The bathroom was amazing with a huge tub and a separate shower with a rainfall shower head! The room was huge and very clean! It was decorated very nicely! The staff was very nice and helpful! There was a balcony which was a plus. They had a shuttle that took you to and from the airport which was very convienent because the hotel is definitely in the middle of no where! If your looking for a place to experience Amsterdam this would not be it! The hotel is basically in the middle of no where but they do have a shuttle that runs every 40 minutes that takes you to the airport where you can get on the train and be down to Amsterdam in about 20 min. The first time we stayed here we had a great room, it was beautiful! The second time we stayed there the room was much less then what we were expecting! There wasn't anything wrong with it but I guess we just got out in the older part of the hotel that time!
Free shuttle to the airport. The rug was stained and one of the upholstered chair was soiled. Also, no coffee pot or supplies in the room.
After encountering one of Europe's worst heat waves, this was a pleasant surprise. The a/c was ice cold; the rooms were perfect for my family (individual beds); breakfast was more than adequate; and the hotel's restaurant had excellent dishes. I sincerely enjoyed my three day stay. I will come again.
Restaurant was very good, bar staff very attentive, facilities very clean. Outstanding Not a thing
convenient to airport - lovely dining room and delicious food. it was a little further from the airport than we thought and we were very isolated.
quality of your dining facilities and quality iof the food
Breakfast-wonderful! Front desk staff attitude. Stayed there >5 times. Never had staff refer to my being a regular customer. I had just arrived from a long flight and had to wait in foyer for a room. Too much luggage to safely carry 'down' to storage area myself. Staff wouldn't hold even one piece behind the counter. I was a woman travelling alone so not at all considerate as I couldn't even visit the bathroom! Staff also eager to suggest only most expensive suites available when this was not strictly true, on a previous stay with no prior booking. Good reason to book before going! Other than one male front desk staff, most times front desk staff seemed high-handed and rather unfriendly. Shame because hotel is convenient and the food is great!
Good price- bus to airport was very convenient and free. Good deal for price. Hotel hallways (and to some extent the room) smelled like weed and cigarettes. Budget rooms were very outdated and didn't feel very clean.
I was impressed by the level of service from the personnel. I had forgotten my BB in the hotel , so I called in five minutes they called me back to say that they had found it.
I liked how clean and new it was. Could not get it warm enough in the room. It seems that the temperature gage only goes to a certain point. Being a new facility you probably still have some bugs to work out. I was called by misstake at 10PM and it woke me up. I had ordered a wake up call at 6:30AM but newer got a call.
I booked 7 rooms this week and from all persons I learned that this hotel is very noisy, two guests did change rooms, one of them was on top floor and he wrote me that this was a good room. Most of the guests will not return to this hotel.
Efficient check-in, free shuttle bus and peaceful location not far from Amsterdam center. We can't think of anything not to like.
There is nothing special about this hotel, it´s one of those faceless places to stay. Stuff! At the front dest, 3 out of 4 receptionist seemed my arrival bothered them, because they had to stand up and do their job. They didnt have my reservation in their system, luckily free room was available. Without a word one made reservation and asked for my card. I didnt get usual: checkout time, parking fee, room service, breakfast served from till,...etc. Lack of communication skills described it pretty enought. Shortly after check in, I found out, I was charged extra 70 euros on top of what I was supposed to pay for no reason, at least I was not explained till this day.
Spacious rooms, good breakfast, good location, free parking The hotel has newly opened. They were finishing decoration all those days I stayed there.
Room was good, staff and facilies were fine for short stay requirements of an airpor hotel.
quick and good 24h check-in service
Neat Room, Toiletteries, Comfortable, Airport shuttle facility Staff could be more polite and helpful, Basic amenities like TV and internet should be part of the room rent and not charged extra.
Room was clean Service was poor. They would not take a new guest in until exactly 2 pm when they had limited rooms clean even then due likely to slow or poor cleaning service staff. When checking out, the front desk assigned one person to all check outs (who was a good employee) though others on the front desk appeared to be doing nothing or certainly nothing as important than serving guests.
Clean, new and good value its not close to the airport, 10 - 15 minutes by shuttle bus
Location to airport Limited menu, Breakfast food not very good
My room was cleaned at 5pm instead of in the morning
Shuttle service was well organized and worked well Dining here is very expensive and service for dinner was 'if you must I will'
Buffet breakfast included. Evening dinner selection is limited but still ok. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Shuttle bus to airport is quick, approx 10 mins to airport Limited dinner menu. Shower water pressure not good. Shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes so check timing to make sure you make it to the airport on time. Shuttle bus pick up is separate from other hotels. Pick up at STA office near Starbucks arrival 4 section. Not a criticism but not obvious location.
The hotel is in a great location and overall a nice hotel - this was our 3rd stay. The room was okay - a little expensive for what we got. Also, on my reservation form it said there was a hair dryer in the room (so I did not bring mine) and there was not. No extra pillows or blankets for the chilly night. It boasted a great balcony w/view and all we saw was construction back there. Could not find a remote control for the television, had to keep getting up to change channel/volume.
comfy bed tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms would be a good idea
Roomy and relaxed I was unable to get any food whatsoever fate arriving back at 11.15pm one evening. The hotel must be ablt to cater for residents at least up to 12 midnight
The staff were always delightful and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly especially at the front desk. I like a kettle and the ability to make tea in my room but I appreciate. This is not a European custom!
The kindness and concern of the reception staff. We needed a late check-out due to difficult circumstances and it was given with no problem or extra charge.
Location easy to find, vast parking, vast room, WiFi, good restaurant, bus connection to Haarlem downtown (10 mn). Room a little noisy (corridor), distance hotel entrance to room.
The greeting at the front desk -reception was extremely professional and very helpful with local details such as restaurant information in the local area etc.... the room was very sufficient ,clean and provided all needs. We chose breakfast in the room which was just fantastic.
We had a comfort plus room with a breakfast. Room was fab, super comfortable, fresh, clean and the bed was divine. Breakfast was a banquet with a huge choice if foods Inc muffins, many breads, various egg dishes and meats. Yummie
The Location The room had not been cleaned and was very very dusty and the carpets had not been hoovered
It was a place to sleep... It wasn't clean, the grounds were horrible (weeds, tall grass), it wasn't in a very good area.
comfortable, clean room internet not good
We was staying in the family room, it coat a lot, but you get comfort. It was two rooms inside one, we have separate toilet and bath. We didn't take breakfast because we didn't have time, but it is really expensive. We use sauna it was nice after long trip.
how convient it is. the maid service was poor. they did not remove the plates, or tray from room service. They are also too anxious to get in.
I loved not having to leave the airport but did feel that the room was overpriced.
location was great. staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make things most comfortable for my stay.
it is convenient to ariport and train station, nice & clean and staff are friendly & helpful.
easy to access from the airport and center of the city, reasonable room charge. no free space in refrigerator
Walking distance to Schiphol airport For lack of time, I decided to choose a Sheraton. Exceptionally so, because I've had quite bad experiences with that chain. This hotel, however, was OK as far as I can tell.
Rooms a little small for the price, compared to other rooms I have used (worldwide). However, easy access to the airport, for me as in transit over the night, brought some value to the price. Also, several of the TV channels were not operative. Too bad for a hotel in thic class.
Staff is very couretous and efficient. Make you feel very welcome.
room size too long to get to central amsterdam. always shuttle and then train from airport to central. need train near hotel. also shuttle shuts off after 12 so I had to pay cab fare twice. also breakfast is super expensive.
The shuttle service when it was on schedule and could transport everyone desiring a ride to/from hotel to airport terminals and the few staff that were on duty ...usually weekdays Spotty shuttle service on Weekends due to mismanaging the requirement to transport many guests. I waited 90 minutes for the shuttle that transports folks every 30 minutes and after the third missed shuttle because there were more folks than seats, I spent 30$ on a taxi to "shuttle" me a few miles to the airport hotel....all this after calling them and they said they'd provide a ride - never happened so that's how I waited 90 minutes versus half that time before taking a taxi ....seemed understaffed
Ease of travelling to airport, friendly staff, Professional staff, clean rooms! Wish the breakfast buffet wasn't so pricey
great value for money
Wonderful facility. Expensive food.
I left my purse in the restaurant during breakfast. My husband ran back to get it 2 hours later, the waiter remembered him and had my purse safe and sound with everything in it. He was very nice!!!
Clean and spacious Things felt a little cheaply made.
Wonderful airport hotel. Close to airport, with frequent shuttles to and from the airport. Very convenient for the night before we left!
Beds we SO comfortable! Hotel food and drinks were quite expensive.
Close to airport and free shuttle to airport. Clean room and friendly staff. Not close to walk to anything.
It stayed there just for the night as I had an early flight from the airport the next morning. For that purpose the hotel is fine. The shower was not usable as the pipe was completely broken down so I could not fresh up in the morning. I complained at the reception, but they didn't seem to take me serious at all. This seems to happen more often in this hotel. I'll use another hotel at the airport not next occasions.
Nice room for a good price. Free shuttle to Schiphol made it easy to get to the airport. It's location made it a bit of a process to get to downtown Amsterdam, but it wasn't too bad.
Easy check in and easy to use shuttle to and from the airport. Nice lobby and restaurant. Room was nice, standard. Good value, I would stay here again. McDonald's restaurant a block away, but nothing else. Bathroom not 100% clean, but good enough.
beeakfast was excellent. room was spotless. walls are paper thin. rude people woke me knockking on their friends door 3 doors down at 2:30 am. it sounded like they might be knocking on my door. their noise continued for over an hour and destroyed my nights sleep.
Close to airport The air conditioning would not turn on unless it was warmer than 18 C outside. This is some weird Dutch cheap money saving tactic that keeps guests warm or outright hot, and at the mercy of what it's doing outside. I paid for the room. Let me control the thermostat.
close ot the airport very basic
Noise from aircraft
Easy access to airport Arrived after a very long travel day. Staff was unfriendly, room was fine but sterile.
Clean Uncomfortable bed and the wifi only had a good signal in the lobby. I had a room on the 3rd floor and could not get any reception in my room which was very frustrating
the shuttle to the airport was nice My refrigerator in the room did not work and they did not have an ice machine. The airport hotel really wasn't close to the airport. The airport shuttle did not run passed 11:30 pm.
Hotel staff were very welcoming. Room was very clean, bed very comfortable. Large room, plenty of storage. Breakfast room was very nice with a good selection. Shuttle bus very prompt and driver very helpful with luggage. I was staying overnight at Schiphol between flights. Hotel is a little far from the airport, especially if you are arriving late in the evening. No ramp up to the door at reception. Had to carry heavy suitcase up several stairs.
The hotel was very clean and the room was amazing, worth the money! The staff is very rude and unprofessional. It is so bad that despite the hotel being clean and well kept it isn't worth the stay.
The shuttle service from the airport was free and efficient. Staff were friendlly and responsive. Room was clean and comfortable without any excessive noise. There was a nice restaurant and bar. Only that our room originally didn't have a door to the bathroom, they did change us to a room with a door after we asked. At first we thought maybe this was normal in Amsterdam but it seemed a bit primitive to have no way of containing the various sights and smells. it was rather strange to be given this type of facility without any warning.
Front desk staff very helpful. Extended my stay twice and never a problem to keep the same room. A short walk into the town adjacent. Rooms were in good shape. It was very convenient as I was taking some courses at Schipol. Shuttle service. The bus was packed when it finally arrived after I waited 52 minutes at the airport. There was a crowd awaiting to get on. I did manage to get on but not everyone who wanted to was able, This shuttle serves the Ibis budget, the Ibis and the Dorint hotels So you get 1 and 2 star shuttle service to a 4 star hotel. The bus did go directly to the Dorint, but I was the only one to get off there. A 4 star hotel needs to offer 4 star service throughout all its services.
I stayed at the Dorint hotel on the 21 of this month(may 2015) anf it has been by far the worst experience i have ever had! I have stayed there before and i had no complains overall, but this time, there was a person in the recception that treated me really badly with no reason, i was staring at him thinking how come this person works here? I wrote down his name(Victor Brokke) and i wanted to talk with the manager but i had no time because i had an early flight and i was kind of late, too diferent than the morning recepcionist that was so nice and professional, when she asked me how was my experience i told hee about the missunderstanding that happent that night and she said she would take care of it. Really, they lost a customer, i travel to the netherlands at least 3 time a year and i love staying in hotels close to Schiphol because of the facilities such as close to amsterdam and also shuttles to the airport. What they dont realized i think is there is over 50 hotels in that area, and the Dorint isnt going to be one that me, relatives or friends are going to stay in.
Very convient for getting to the airport, regular shuttle ran between the hotel and airport all day long. Room very modern, spacious and quite after staying in the old part of Amsterdam for a week. Nice restaurant, had a good dinner but breakfast was a 15E buffet, no other choice, expensive but good.
The hotel is an excellent value for the price. The room my wife and I had was clean and quiet. We thought the restaurant was overpriced but the location is within walking distance of a wonderful small town where the people were very friendly and an Italian restaurant and grocery store very close. The bus to the airport was on time but sometimes crowded. Overall we would stay there anytime we are at Amsterdam airport.
I asked to change my room and was immediately accommodated. The new room was quite nice. Clean bed and facilities. The first room I was assigned smelled strongly of smoke. I asked for a change. See above. The hotel's common areas are badly in need of upgrade. Too many stains on carpets etc. Also, in my room, the upholstery on the desk chair was torn. These are the reasons for not wanting to recommend the hotel to others. It was fine for the one night, but I would try somewhere else for any longer time.
EUR 12,50 parking fee I didn't like the hotel at all. There are much better alternatives around Schiphol. The hotel is generally old and mainly used for stop-overs between long-haul flights and by airlines' crews. Nothing spectacular.
staff were kind I had to change hotels because their wifi was so bad. Stayed at the Park Plaza, much better offer
convenient because nearby airport
Booked room for $75 after missing flight. Shuttle was provided at the airport. Was very clean and nice for the price. Staff was friendly except for shuttle driver. Nice looking pool, sauna and steam room. Restaurant staff was nice. Shuttle driver was rude on the way to the hotel. Restaurant was expensive $15 for hamburger. Had to wait till exactly 2 pm to check in they wouldn't check us in 10 minutes early.
nice bed, good internet, nice corridor decoration, good fruit and bread option for buffet breakfast television is not LCD monitor, breakfast: no live cooking for omelette
Used the 24/7 Business Center - easy to use also late in the evening Missed one bus dep. as I did not know that it leaves from the lower level and not from the Reception level - this should be better communicated
Good service, very nice free breakfast! Very helpful with lost luggage at airport Stay was not long enough!
Breakfast was awesome! Very good food and clean. The room was very spacious and gym was clean.
The staff are extremely courteous and professional. The free shuttle service to and from the airport is a very useful and efficient service. A very quite and scenic location and Amsterdam Central is relatively a short train ride. A minor criticism is that the TV is not flat screen.
peaceful and quite..excellent breakfast and shuttle service from airport
the breakfast buffet was limited in choice
-Nice hotel with a clean room, comfortable bed, and well-appointed bathroom. -The breakfast spread(not always included in the price, I understood) was very good. -The shuttle service is convenient (if you can find seat in one TO the hotel, that is; no problems FROM the hotel to airport). This is important because there is nothing, literally nothing, near the hotel and it is about 15 minutes ride to/from the airport. The restaurant was good but has practically no options for a vegetarian meal (surprising since vegetarian choices appear to be becoming quite common at most good Dutch restaurants). The front-desk staff was generally polite and responsive. -They share the shuttle service with another hotel AND a few parking lots. As a result, there is always a large crowd waiting at the airport. The problem was further exacerbated by one of the shuttles being a small van. -The driver of the shuttle (the large one) on the day of my arrival was extremely rude--he shut the door in the face of a young lady who was trying to enquire about when the shuttle was supposed to leave the hotel It didn't and took the Etihad crew to the airport instead). I felt bad enough about it that I went back into the hotel and reported this to the front desk (the Manager was "not available" to speak with me); have no idea what, if any action was taken against the driver. -The next morning, the hot water heater was not working, making it impossible for the guests, many of whom had to catch morning flights, to take showers.
Free Wifi, very friendly and accomodating staff
Rooms were large and king sized beds were comfortable. I particularly liked the exclusive brand of toiletries provided, especially the body lotion. It was heavenly. The location meant that there was literally nothing nearby. But if you take the bus to the airport, then there were more options.
Accommodating front desk and housekeeping quickly removed feathers from room. Large towels and v clean and bright Not really a negative just common sense - allow plenty of time for airport shuttle particularly in morning - up to an hour. Could take less time but not worth stressing particularly if flying to USA with additional security clearances.
It was close to airport and the staff was helpful. It was clean. Loved the tea service. The lobby was pretty. Main thing for me was it was clean. I will pay more next time. The room didn't look like the pictures. I think you can upgrade to the newer rooms. Our room had stains on carpet and chairs and walls were scuffed up. I would say it was a 3 star hotel.
I like the big size of everything Distance from airport and distance from city center
friendly helpful stuff , nice clean room everything very much ok ----
Great Price, modern, free airport shuttle, friendly staff. A bit far away from downtown, but that is not why one would stay at an airport hotel.
Information about material facilities(for example -sport centre etc.)
location Could not open a window to get fresh air and air conditioning was not really adequate.
The bathrom was dirty with hair on the floor. Used soap in shower. Advertized free local calls and free wifi but was charged for both, for $200!
Great staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean, spacious common area Clean room - plenty of light and outlets Limited dinner menu - tho good food.
The staff were quite curtious and pleasant. No delays accessing the room nor upon departure.
staff service food
Hotel is very clean and close to airport. Hotel staff very, very friendly .
Proximity to Airport Staff forgetting to give voucher for shuttlebus resulting in pushy bus driver and wasted time..and €19 for breakfast when I just wanted small fruit? Far too expensive so no breakfast
Quiet room at the back, comfortable beds. Slight, somewhat musty smell in the room and corridor during our stay.
The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful in making suggestions for activities and dining as well as in assisting with the arrangements. The hotel was also immaculate, and housekeeping was well-supervised in ensuring that the rooms were properly serviced and stocked. Complementary fruit and free wireless access and printing were much appreciated amenities. The breakfast was not included and was excessively priced.
comfort of the beds, but besides the good beds, it was a very regular hotel room (the term deluxe twin room gives you another idea) smoking hotel staff outside the hotel (for the entrance)
Great location. Friendly, helpful staff Very warm on top floor due to stained glass dome. Room was difficult to completely cool off. Pillows somewhat too thick.
excellent location - on edge of groat market. quality of rooms excellent difficulty in finding without a map and no private parking - although there is a public car park next door.
Comfort and quietness in the centre of Haarlem.
right downtown close to all shopping and restaurants quite noisy at night, and no parking nearby
staff very good all was good
Location, comfortable bed, excellent value for money Room door not sound proof -> could hear noise in the hallway at times
Hotel staff was very helpful in arranging transportation between the airport and hotel in advance. Hotel staff should be trained on excursions available in nearby towns of Rotterdam and The Hague.
Spacious room; helpful staff who would go out of their way to do things; central position A glass door to the bathroom was weird; room a bit chilly at night
Was able to check in at 11.00 am, asked for an extension cord which was in my room on my return from shopping. Beautifull stained glass ceiling on the top floor. Umbrella's at the exit in case of rain. Loved it!
Everyhing is exellent! If u travel by car or bicycle - an ideal place. Great comfort facilities for a low price. 4 stars cheaper than hostel in Amsterdam. Picturesque views of Netherlands around and clean air. Just one station from Haarlem - one of the most beautiful towns around. Averything is super!
Very well maintained hotel. Helpful staff. Was a bit difficult to find.
Friendly service and great value for money bar menu. No free WiFi. In fact quite expensive and you have to go through the hassle of contacting reception etc.
Quality of services and helpful staff.
Friendly staff, early breakfast, quick room service, easy to find, close to the office. Terrible smell in my room - not sure if it was once a smoking room or if the smell was from the chemicals used to clean it. Their internet was not part of the iPass network and I think it is absurd that any hotel charges for WiFi/Internet access.
Staff were friendly and service was good. WiFi available, Restaurant and Breakfast reasonably priced. Room and hotel is a little dated, not as slick as newer hotels, no coffee making facilities in the room.
Good road side motel. I did not have an auto, one kilometer to train station and the walk is on a bicycle path and the people riding bike seemed put out that I was walking on their path.
What I liked best during my stay at Hotel de Zoete Inval, was the fact that it is perfectly located, namely close to the city of Haarlem and at the same time in very quiet surroundings, without the noise and the parkingproblems of the big city. What I didn't like, was the fact that the heatingsystem (hot air) cannot be regulated individually in the rooms, and that the only ventilation available is via the main window in the tilt position
free parking location might cause problems without car (railway station is 20 minutes by foot)
quiet, clean, close to Amsterdam by train No information given by staff re restaurants. Thought there was only 1 until we investigated further and found casual dining in bowling area
The hotel was clean, the bed was fantastic and I liked the fact that UK plugs and TV channels were available in the room. It was well-placed for Haarlem station and the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable, offering a good selection of continental foods. We were excited to learn that there was a jacuzzi in the room but unfortunately this did not work. Also, I was disappointed that there was no iron and ironing board in the room.
All the facilities good breakfast with chefs to cook on order.
Location and complimentary mini bar. Front desk staff were very friendly and offered good advice on the local area. breakfast was expensive (19.50 Euro per person) for an average meal.
Quick check in and check out; quiet and quite central to inner city; good parking facilities
Proximity to bus stops. Location with respect to the Centrum. Nighttime food is hard to find.
Comfortable room, friendly staff
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room (a superior) was a good size and very comfortable.
good place to stay the location is not so optimal if you need to travel without a car
Proffessionalism and courtesy of Carlton Square Hotel Staff Very comfortable and clean bed
Parking is no problem due to the parking places below the hotel but it is very expensive (35 euros per week) if you only stay for 2 days. I fail to see why a hotel can not get a price reduction if they really try.
Location - near train station, so Amsterdam was only 15 min away and very easily accessible. Good breakfast buffet and helpful staff.
This place is right across the street from the train station. It was so simple to get around. I had to go to The Hague and to Amsterdam as well and was just perfect. Bit of a walk into the Grote Markt but if the weather is nice and you're mobile, it's easy. Shower is massive too. Breakfast was one of the best so far for me on my trip. Not sure what the deal was if it had to do with the construction across the street of the new terminal, but while trying to fall back asleep at 5AM, I noticed that when cars drove pas in front of the hotel (I was in room 26) I could feel my bed shake a bit when the car would drive over a bump. Probably not a good thing. Also, the room felt slightly slanted away from the road. If you're super fussy, these things might throw you off. Busy weekend so a bit expensive for what you got. Plus Wi-Fi wasn't free but there's an internet cafe a few doors down which is way cheaper.
The city of Haarlem itself is very pleasant, with a historic old centre with outstanding 16th-17th-18th century architecture, combined with an abundance and wide range of shops and restaurants. As a gateway to the city of Amsterdam, the Lion d'Or Hotel is also excellent - it is a three minute walk to the platform of the Haarlem train station, which provides service every 10 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station which takes only 15 minutes of train travel to reach.
we enjoyed our stay at the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, thank you
Very good location, staff, breakfast is very reach, new and clean rooms and facilities. no
hotel very convenient for bus and train stations, polite helpful staff. room spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee supplied. breakfast very basic, hotplate for frying eggs on buffet table at breakfast, not very practical when busy
Easy and good service from hotel staff
The desk staff was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They not only made our stay at the hotel more enjoyable, they also made our stay in Haarlem more enjoyable.
A comfortable hotel with friendly staff, close to the centre. A little aged and perhaps in need of a revamp. Still uses blankets and sheets instead of duvet and cover.
Our second stay at Lion D'Or for comfort and location. Perfect location across from Haarlem station for arriving by train or trips into Amsterdam, Zandvoort (beach), or other rail departures. Also located right up the street is the express bus #300 starting point that whisks you comfortably to the Schiphol departure terminal for 4 euros. Great base for Haarlem and A'dam. Real good breakfast buffet included. Loved the air conditioning. FrieGood local and regional beers available in the bar reasonably priced. Willy Wortel's a half block away. Scenic 10 minute walk to great market and the big church. All-in-all Lion D'Or is the best choice of Haarlem hotels for users of public transport
Close to the airport
The room is clean and wanderful. nothing.
Twin beds pushed together for a double, but were comfortable. Room was clean, staff helpful. We stay here once a year as we attend a fuction in the area. Each time we leave after work and arrive just about 10:00 pm. The restaurant next door to the hotel closes at 10:00. There is no restaurant in the hotel for dinner. There is no restaurant anywhere else near the hotel either. We drove around for 45 minutes and finally found a small kabob place and a pub. With all the businesses and backing up to a large residential area, we were surprised that there was absolutely nothing in the area in the way of restaurant, market or even a McDonalds. The bar in the hotel is open until 1:00 am. If you intend to arrive after 9:00 pm, make sure you have stopped to eat before you arrive.
Friendly staff, early check in possibility
The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean. far from city centre
There are many choice of breakfast. We were very comfortable to sleep.
Room was in need of renovation. Wallpaper peeling, stained carpet, door between rooms did not close and no control over heating.
good position, bath and shower and separate toilet good no mini bar or air conditioning.Breakfast not always organised well.
pleasant staff very comfortable room it was nice and warm excellent breakfast, no
While it's a half hour ride into Amsterdam, the hotel provides a bucolic respite from the hustle of the city and offers significant value.
Possibility of free carparking arrangement
The room was clean and the staff were very accommodating. Our flight did not leave until 7 in the evening and they let us stay in the room without any extra cost.
Clean. Location Unfriendly, unwelcoming front desk person. Maybe she doesn't like Americans.
The room is not very bad I didn´t like it. The location and accessibility are horrible: bus, train; The staff can drive you to airport to get a train but it was expensive.
very nice room and canal view everything was perfect
Good service, nice breakfast restaurant. There is no lift. Only 2 floors tall so not a major problem. Naturally because of its location there is some aircraft noise.
clean and convenient
Room very nice and staff pleasent.Renovation work outside the hotel still in progress but when finished this hotel will be very nice.Very good location for park and fly.Very nice restaurant opposite hotel and the hotel also have nice restaurant so something to choose between..
the hotel linen was good quality and changed every day. the rooms were clean and comfortable. the airport transfers were reasonably frequent but we weren't given accurate times so were left waiting for long periods of time. every time you asked when the bus was coming you were told 10 - 15 mins but one occasion we waited over 40 mins in the cold and rain late at night.
Very nice rooms and helpful staff
Pleasant and friendly staff.
Frankly-nothing. The room was dirty, had a smell of mildew or rot in carpet. The chair at the desk was rickety and unusable. There was no plastic bag for the ice bucket, the bathroom had two plastic cups not wrappped in plastic. The food in the lobby restaraunt was limited and i was served a clubhouse that was so dry it cut my mouth. The bartender didnt know how to make a martini. The bath tub was so small I almost fell out when steped on side by accident. The room was hot even though I turned heat down.
Efficient shuttle to and from airport
Near the visited company
Bar and rooms have been remodeled since last stay, very clean very limited menu in the restaurant and bar closed at 11pm was told it was the quiet season (in August!) Very poor internet connection at always at this hotel.
small detail, the sauna wasn't working
We were very pleased with this hotel. It does help if you have a car (which we did) as the hotel is not close to any transportation. You would have to use the hotel shuttle back and forth to the airport to get into Amsterdam. The room was very nice and spacious. We have no complaints.
service and gym the informtion given very expensive for what it is Restaurant too expensive
Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is far away from both Schiphol airport and Amsterdam tourist area. Shuttle to airport cost you about 8 euro, and taxi to airport is 22 euro. Taxi to Amsterdam tourist area is 55 euro. Train station is far away, and ticket to Amsterdam is 8 euro two-way
Pool was nice and warm This hotel is more and less okay but I think the prices are too high because the room need to be renovated! And it was cold.
Good facilities and convenient for airport and Schiphol offices. Limited and overpriced menu in evening. Outrageous wine prices.
