When you stay at Hanalei Bay Resort in Princeville, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Princeville Golf Course and Hanalei Bay. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Great apartment with front and rear balcony's. We never use Air conditioning when travelling so great airflow is a massive bonus for us. approx 30mins walk to Princeville shops and the same to "Hideaways Pizza" This place is surrounded by golf course it seems so getting around is very easy and relaxed Nightly food truck options that come in the arvo is a great idea ranging from Burgers to Shave ice is a great idea
Pros: Excellent grounds, including the bar/restaurant & pool area. Not a tennis player but would be a perfect place to stay if you were. Rides to the beach was a nice touch and very easy to get to and back from. Would have preferred not having to be hassled to check out towels just to sit by the pool area!
Cons: I had called several times including 30-days prior to our arrival asking to not be in one of the condo units right next to the front entrance. We ended up right next to the bar, parking lot entrance & ground floor. We could not have been placed any closer to exactly were I asked not to be!
Pros: The view was beautiful.
Cons: All the chickens! Plus, it was a long walk to the beach down a big hill which meant you had to walk back up! Plus, they did not tell us they only refreshed the room every other day, which would be fine but we like having coffee and had to request more.
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: ‘The Hanalei Bay resort is not a hotel’ said the lady in the reception, ‘it’s a timeshare’, so housekeeping passes every 3 days. So during my 6-night stay, my bed was made only once !!! So you figure it out if that worth 356$ per night plus tax plus resort fee.
Cons: Restaurant is closed and an eye sore
Pros: The accommodations were spacious and well suited to a family of four. Fully appointed kitchen and washer/dryer in unit huge plus! Service on call excellent and yet low key and unobtrusive. Clean rooms and premises. Older property well maintained.
Cons: More on site dining - once the Bali Hai reopens!
Pros: Everything about this place was incredible!!!!
Pros: Bed and swimming pool
Pros: Peaceful and beautiful.
Cons: Cleaning services.
Pros: pool was better than expected. Shuttle service, including response time, was very helpful. Spaciousness of the accommodations was unexpected.
Cons: Lack of food services on property. Would of been nice to have carts available. Concierge seemed disinterested and had little to offer.
Pros: The location
Cons: Expensive for Australians. Road closures.
Cons: We asked for our money back after it became apparent that the studio only had a super uncomfortable pull out couch bed. The resort seemed nice, and the staff was friendly, but for the love of God get the one bedroom! I could not believe they would have us stay on a bumpy springy pull out couch bed for 200+ a night! The Windham had a nice little studio right down the road with a REAL BED for almost half the price. Like I said the resort seemed really nice but DO NOT get the studio room if you value comfort in a mattress.
Nestled on a secluded bluff overlooking the Majestic North Shore of Kauai, the Pacific Ocean stretches as far as the eye can see; where the clouds come alive and dance in concert with our endless sunrise and sunsets, interrupted only by the whales, turtles and waves crashing against the shore. The views are simply stunning which is why at the beginning or end of every day you might find yourself drawn by the Adirondack chairs strategically placed along the ocean’s edge allowing you to ponder on the meaning of life, or simply enjoy Mother Nature at her finest.
Pros: Great condo, big and nice, with kitchen and washing machines. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The two bathrooms were nice and clean. Kitchen had everything you needed to enjoy a home cooked meal. Although there was no air conditioning, there were plenty of fans provides to keep us cool at night. We had a great stay at the Cliffs at Princeville!
Pros: Big nice rooms.
Cons: They did annual vent cleaning maintenance in our unit while we were there and the internet needed services and had spotty service.
Pros: Comfortable setting, great kitchen facility, spacious. Wishing for A/C...
Cons: A/C would’ve been ideal especially during summer
Pros: The condo exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and even had a washer/dryer. Very comfortable and a nice location.
Pros: Great condo with kitchen and washing machines. There are grills with really beautiful views of the ocean you can use as well. The pools at this complex were great! Really nice. The views were amazing and the rooms clean and comfortable.
Cons: We didnt realize there was no air conditioning but there were plenty of fans provides to keep us cool at night.
Pros: Great location! 15 min drive to Hanalei Bay and close to Kilauea light house as well. Shops, restaurants, grocery store are close by. Beaches are close by as well
Cons: Not able to stay there for an entire week
Pros: Everything was just perfect!! The room, was clean, beds were comfortable and the view was just breathtaking. The Staff were just so pleasant, courteous and very helpful.
Pros: Nice floor plan with a good kitchen and outdoor Lanai.
Cons: It was hot. No A/C when there was not any tradewinds flow. Needs and A/C in the bedroom at least! Master Bedroom too exposed to parking lot to keep sliding doors and curtains open to keep it cool.
Pros: Very nice!
Cons: No air conditioning. It wasn’t a big problem but there were a few times when sleep would have been more comfortable.
Pros: Good location and condo was pretty typical of a spot in Princeville
Cons: Service. Front desk and maids were both very pushy and rude. On check out day even though we secured late checkout we had maids knocking on our door at 8:30 AM telling us we needed to leave. Front desk dismissed our complaint when we called saying more guests were coming and we needed to get out. For the price to stay here I wouldn’t do it again strictly because of the staff. For $300+ a night I’m sure we can find a friendlier place to stay next time.
Pros: Spacious bedroom, comfortable, clean, kitchen equipped with utensils and appliances. Large tv’s, nice 2 full baths. Full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, so I didn’t need to bring my own (but I did because I didn’t know). Hair dryer supplied too.
Cons: Early check out (10am), and guests need to strip beds, both of which were not mentioned at check in. Also no air condition. The pool was closed for maintenance on a Saturday (the day after we arrived) so could not use it since the checkout was so early the next day.
Pros: Loved being in princeville! The rooms are HUGE. We were only two people but it is family sized for sure. The two bathrooms were nice. Kitchen had everything you needed to enjoy a home cooked meal.
Cons: The bed was super uncomfortable. We had a hard time sleeping through the nights. The rooms have no a/c which is fine but it was SO hot every night we went to sleep. They do provide two extra fans but it was stuffy.
When you stay at Hale Ho'o Maha Bed & Breakfast in Hanalei, you'll be by the ocean, within a 10-minute drive of Limahuli Garden and Reserve and Hanalei Bay. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: It gave you the feeling of living in a Kuaui home with your own bedroom and bathroom.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: We had an enjoyable stay. Gives you great access to the hikes and beaches of north shore.
Pros: Super clean and comfortable. They changed out our TV for a new one without our even asking because the owner was not satisfied with the picture - where did you ever get that kind of service before? Great breakfast meals - a different one each day, and each one delicious. Much appreciated help with our luggage.
Cons: Can't think of any improvements for the facility, but we misjudged it's location in relation to Princeville and points east, such as the east and southern coasts. In the fall and winter, at least, all boat tours leave from Port Allen on the south coast. and any helicopter tours always leave from the heliport at Lihue airport. From the Hanalei area there are 7 one-lane bridges to this B&B, and many drivers are not considerate, so figure on having to back up more than once. For beach people it would be better because they would be staying in the area.
Pros: The breakfast was perfect and different every day with fresh fruit. The hosts were amazing as well as the house. You cannot lock the rooms, but this is not necessary. The location is perfect - very calming...
Pros: Wonderful location and lovely breakfast
Pros: A very warm and welcoming at check-in. The location is perfect for hiking, swimming and plenty of great resturants..Highly recommend.
Pros: House is very cool, being up on stilts. The couple running it are very accommodating. I have no complaints. Good value for the money.
Cons: A bit far from the center of the island - but manageable. Rains a fair amount on this side of the island, but it's easy enough to escape to another part of the island.
Pros: Beautiful b&b. Room was large and comfortable. Great sized bathroom. Convenient to Na Pali coast, Kee beach, Hanalei Bay... easy to beat morning rush for hikes and beach.
Cons: Not the fault of the property but everything in the north of Kauai is spread out and requires driving, including over many single land bridges. It was frustrating to figure out where to park for many beaches and by dinner time, I was tired of driving. Our last night we got take-out and had a little picnic on the beach right in front of the B&B. It was awesome! We had the beach to ourselves, it was beautiful, and the food was delish (from Chicken in a Barrel).
Pros: The location of this B&B is really exceptional, just steps from the beach with little other people there (we saw a Monk Seal come on shore and sunbathe)... The hosts are very friendly and provide all you need to go to the beach and enjoy yourself, from beach chairs to snorkel gear. They provide a wealth of information about the island. Breakfasts made by Toby vary every day and are delicious. The property is great with very large communal area and well kept rooms with private facilities.
Cons: Nothing we can think of, really...

Pros: The hotel was nice and clean. Room was good size and facility great.
Cons: on the balcony to enjoy the view or leave the doors open. This was reported to the manager bit they couldn’t change our room. We were so excited to come to you hotel. It leaves us with a bad feeling
Pros: Fabulous room, with a Spa bath and a seperate shower. The Staff were very friendly and helpful and the cocierge service had great local knowledge when it came to booking our days activities. The meals we had at the resteraunt were uniformly very good
Cons: Charge for bottled water in the room was unnecessary and expensive!
Pros: Quiet, comfortable, beautiful location
Cons: Does not have a beach but I still give it 10/10 because I knew that when I reserved it and that wasn''tt a major priority for me
Pros: The room was great, kitchen was small but functional and the area is very beautiful. Kauai is better to explore if you have a car. Loved that we could make our own breakfast and have a BBQoutside at the property. The also had a shuttle to the royal Princeville where the view is spectacular and dinner was amazing! The shuttle also took us to the helicopter ride at Princeville airport at to the local village to get supplies and drinks at no extra cost!
Cons: It is quite isolated would definitely say you need a car to get the most out of the island. Other than that awesome stay!
Cons: I think we were just unlucky, but our toilet couldnt flush even after they tried to fix it once. However, everything else was excellent.
Pros: Shannon, LJ, & Brandon were super helpful!
Cons: Kate, the manager, was one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with in all of my travels. Because of her, I will never return to this property. Also, despite being a ‘Westin’, the property fails to offer the Westin benefits that are shown on the Westin brochure in the rooms (no asterisks or statements indicating that this property was excluded). Overall, a very disappointing experience with management and check-in.
Pros: Large and clean room, fully equipped kitchen, perfect bed, easy parking, great pool area and fitness. Princeville AirPort is nearby. Perfect for a helicopter flight (Blue Hawaiian).
Cons: Located on the rainy side of the Island. Service in the restaurant was slow.
Cons: The sight of hundreds of flames burning on mock torches around the grounds is disgusting. To most international visitors who are trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, these flames are simply producing greenhouse gases by burning gas for no benefit, other than for aesthetic reasons. Take it from me, anyone who is concerned about our environment will find this disgraceful waste of fuel abhorrent. This hotel needs to change its attitude to environmental issues immediately.
Pros: All staff in hotel were extremely nice and helpful like we never experience before!
Pros: Pools and kid friendly pools.
Cons: There was noise outside the room even after I asked for a quiet room. I should have changed rooms however I was in bed when I noticed this noise that continued throughout the night!
Pros: Spacious and clean villa. Very friendly staff. Great facilities
Cons: The villas are somewhat pricey.

Pros: the household Maintainance staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: the minute you turned to the front desk you got the immediate unwelcome feeling there. Wyndham Bali totally ruined my holiday. The floor is as thin as a paper, staying downstairs means you got no sleep. I complained to the front desk, the staff (Jason) was not helpful at all, he did not let me change to an upstairs apartment even though there was still plenty of upstairs rooms available, and he promised me there will be no one upstairs during our stay, which turned out not true at all. wifi does not work most of the time.
Pros: Close to Hanalei. Large unit with well stocked kitchen
Cons: No air conditioning. It was very hot on second floor. Outdated units.
Pros: The resort itself is very nice. The condo I stayed in was very nice and comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful. I didn't use the pools, but they were very nice and pretty big too. Most of the staff was great, but I had an awkward check out. It's also worth noting that they really push for guests to attend a time share presentation, but they make it worth your while and guests are not required to attend.
Cons: I did not like the location. Princeville is a very pretty, but also a very boring "town". It's not really a town in any sense, it's more like a large subdivision built around a golf course. I would not return to Princeville, but would instead stay in one of the other nearby towns, Hanalei or Kilauea.
Pros: The property was beautiful.
Cons: The room needed updating. There was a no smoking policy in the rooms but it wasn’t strictly enforced. Some guests in another room were continually smoking on their porch, getting smoke on our room. Staff was notified but the guests ignored the rules and were allowed to stay.
Pros: Great location, the villa was spacious, we liked the full kitchen, nice sized bathrooms, living room, and patio. Parking very close to our villa was great!
Cons: We did not like that there wasn't air-conditioning in our villa and it made for hot afternoons/evenings preparing and eating dinner. Having AC would have made sleeping more comfortable as well. (They had fans but it didn't really help.) Units need updated
Pros: The location and set up of the unit
Cons: No a/c. Had no idea you would be pressured into doing a time share presentation not at all in the description. The property really needs to take pride in their units they could use some updates
Pros: The hotel was located in a nice area. The hotel grounds itself were very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well.
Cons: The bed in one of our rooms was not comfy. It was dented and my bf struggled to get good sleep. There is no ac here which we knew when we booked but I think having more portable fans would be nice. One portable fan in each room would have been nice.
Pros: Great pools and BBQ area. Beautiful grounds. Loved it. Would stay again.
Cons: We stayed in top level, it was pretty warm on a hot night. First day we had no wind and it was very warm. But other nights it was fine.
Pros: Great position, very close to the best spots in Kauai!
Cons: Staff very slow.
Pros: The apartment was well furnished and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to self cater and all appliances were updated and new. It was a great spot for 2 adults and 1 infant. They even provided a pack and play with sheets. The pool has a gravel splash pool for the baby.
Cons: There are roosters living in the trees lining the property that crow all hours of the night. You can’t really shut the windows at night because the units don’t have AC.
Pros: The sleeping quarters are spacious as well as the living room, kitchen has complete utensils. We specially loved the rice cooker. The washer and dryer was a big plus!
Cons: We were checked in late even though our room was already ready, must have been a very busy day. There was big tree being cut down that really bothered us during the morning that were still asleep for a couple of days.
Cons: It was hot in the rooms - room was run down carpets/ furniture
When you stay at Makai Club Vacation Resort by Resort Stay in Princeville, you'll be near the beach, a 2-minute drive from Princeville Golf Course and 9 minutes from Hanalei Bay. Featured amenities include a business center, luggage storage, and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice view of mountains, when not cloudy. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Initially had rough sheets but they were changed by staff.
Pros: Fully equipped appartment, ideal for self-catering. Spacious rooms, nice pool and BBQ area. Farmland supermarket nearby. Free bicycles. Enjoyed our 3 days here very much.
Cons: Princeville area feels like a big artificial "Disneyland". We stayed here since we originally planned to go hiking near Na'pali coast but due to flooding two weeks earlier Highway after Hanalei was still closed.
Pros: Very friendly staff and groundskeepers. Great added amenities like beach chairs, bikes and barbeque grills.
Pros: The rooms were a good size and the balcony had a Mountain View Having free laundry was wonderful.
Cons: All the rooms smelled musty or moldy. The pull out couch was lumpy and uncomfortable. The music function on the TV did not work.
Pros: A 10 from first arrived till departed! Similar to Turtle Bay condos on Oahu. Excellent attentive staff. NUMEROUS FREE PERKS- starter kit in condo including treats, full kitchen, washer, dryer. WE LOVE IT HERE and will definitely stay here again if we return to Kauai. Best dollar housing value on North Shore!
Pros: Free use of beach toys, chairs, umbrella, boogie board, and cooler was awesome! Air conditioning was great! The view of the trees was beautiful!
Cons: We had to pay for additional laundry detergent and toiletries. Hula class was cancelled because not enough people signed up. My daughters and I were really looking forward to that class. Our upstairs neighbors were super loud walkers.
Pros: I like that the cottages were free standing and not attached to neighbors, that it's a large living space, that they have bikes, beach chairs, etc. available, and also fun daily resort events .
Cons: since there are no wall insulation, and that it's a very quiet location, you can hear coversations from the (loud) neighbors, especially at night.
Perched above legendary Hanalei Bay, Princeville Resort brings unmatched sophistication and serene luxury to one of the most remarkable destinations in the world. Unwind on sandy beaches, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, and treat yourself to bespoke service. Elegant residential-style living defines Princeville Resort's 251 guestrooms and suites, each with sweeping views of Kauai's spectacular North Shore.
Pros: Great position, wonderful view, staff very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast excellent! We loved everything!
Pros: The view
Cons: The staff, they were very unpleasant
Pros: Princeville Resort is just wonderful. The location overlooking Hanalei Bay is beautiful, and it has a lovely little beach and great pool. But what makes me want to come back again and again is the outstanding service at every point, from the moment you drive up to the moment you leave. Princeville Resort offers the kind of personal service that feels like a grand hotel from days gone by, and it makes your stay here very special. You truly feel feel pampered here!
Cons: There is only one restaurant for dinner. It is lovely but quite expensive, so it would be nice to have a casual alternative.
Pros: Located on one of most beautiful spots in the world. Room very nice, service great, view spectacular. Food was good and again view wonderful. Enjoyed relaxing at a great resort. It was away from crowds, elegant and enjoyable.
Pros: Perfect location perched high on bluff overlooking ocean, nestled in Hanalei Bay with Bali Hai and lush Mountain View’s. Quiet peaceful and quintessentially Hawaiian.
Cons: Loved everything.
Pros: Great location. Stylish place, good amenities.
Cons: It’s getting dated now (and is scheduled for a total renovation soon), but biggest issue was lack of ability to deal with a power outage. Some Staff accommodated is well, but it was chaotic in restaurants, no hot water for 6hrs and 18hrs later, AC was still out and so rooms were not comfortable to stay in. Some staff were great, others were disinterested and didn’t provide the level of service expected at this kind of resort even before the power cut.
Pros: The beds are comfy and the view can’t be beat! The staff is so nice. They even gave my daughter a tour of the kitchen!
Cons: Wish they had more variety of food - maybe more appetizers in the bar that are not sushi. After two nights/days dining the menu is repetitive.
Pros: The location is amazing. The only downside for breakfast was the fact that is way too expensive. There are other options not too far that are much better for less of the price.
Pros: Pool beach facility
Cons: Bar menu was very limitef
Pros: The location was very nice. Right off of the beach and a very short drive to the city center for gas and snacks, a few more miles and you can get to some nice scenic overlooks.
Cons: For the price, we were expecting a lot more. The facility is dated and not clean (old stained carpet in entryway, torn chairs by the beach with holes in the umbrellas), the food was also overpriced and just meh in terms of taste.
Pros: Amazing location with incredible views. The pool alone is worth it with beach access and lots of space to lay out. The makana terrace restaurant in the resort is incredible, we are there 4 times!!! The views of Hanalei Bay are unmatched. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Would definitely stay here again!!!
