VERY BAD HOTEL.
VERY BAD HOTEL. THE INTERNET DID NOT WORK AND THE TV DID NOT WORK. VERY BAD ROOMS.
The staff went way out their way to be helpful. The one office person we asked did not have any information about best driving route to Heathrow from the hotel. So we dropped it, given our various electronic means to get the information. In the morning we found an envelope under our door with printed out, very accurate directions. The pub style food served in the fabulous old library was great for a casual dinner and the breakfast served in the restaurant well done. Our family very much enjoyed our stay there.
Charming location, historic buildings, beautiful gardens and ambiance, helpful staff. Driving into the grounds from busy city streets brought an immediate sense of relief.
The furnishings in the guest rooms (Lodge) were a bit worn, tatty. One of us had a lumpy single bed that interfered with sleep.
Great value for money,at the special rate we had.Not sure whether it is worth the much higher rate advertised,£---.
Fabulous gardens.....helpful and responsive staff.
The Best Western Plus Grim's Dyke Hotel is a beautiful, secluded 19th century country house. Just 12 miles from the center of London and within easy reach of Heathrow, the magnificent former country residence of Sir William Gilbert is set in over 40 acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands. With 46 elegant rooms, housed in both the main hotel and lodge, a 2 AA rosette restaurant serving our own seasonal produce, this is the perfect British country retreat.
