Pros: Although we were only there one night on a stop-over from Bergen to Oslo, my girlfriend and I wished we had stayed longer. The Herangtunet Hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Perfect place for a quiet getaway in one of the skiing areas of Norway. Also a great place for families to come and unwind.
Cons: Only downside is Kayak doesn't tell you that in order to get dinner on any of your nights you must order and pay in advance. It is a husband and wife operation so they have to know how many people to cook for. However, breakfast is included!
Pros: I felt pampered, cared for. I don't know when I have experienced better. The owner is warm and thoughtful as well as most talented in cuisine and ambiance . I came away rested and refreshed.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
Pros: Nicely styled room, friendly staff and pleasant dining area
Cons: There was a lack of warm dishes for breakfast.
Pros: Really special hotel! Not the cheapest, but value for money. Very friendly staff, they pay personal attention to the guests. Good beds, good shower Nice food, good breakfast
Pros: The restored buildings and interior design of rooms and dining area were exceptional and beautiful. The staff/were very accommodating and helpful. The atypical room design themes will appeal to many.
Cons: The Friday evening dinner of “traditional” grazing board of local cold meats, cheeses and salad, while generous and tasty, was not our preference. Had we known, we would have dined elsewhere to have a nice hot meal. From reviews the cooking is supposed to be good but we did not get to experience it.
Pros: We had a wonderful stay! Perfect location for cross country skiing. The food is just amazing and the staff is very helpful and comfortable. We booked the Roma suite and the atmosphere in this room is so cozy! Also the fireplace was used a lot after a long day in the ski tracks☀️❄️
Pros: Perfect boutique hotel set in very nice surroundings. Easy going atmosphere, we enjoyed our stay with great beds and good food (breakfast + dinner).
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Good, healthy food, clean and cozy
Cons: Weak WiFi
Pros: Execellent service and staff. Dinner was super!
Pros: The owner and staff. Nicest and best I ever met
Cons: Not their fault but more public buses to Beitostølen would be nice. I only say this because I had a specific schedule to adhere to. I knew it might be a small issue
Pros: The hotel is located in a forest, kind of in the middle of nowhere but that's lovely! The room was amazing, with a fireplace we could use whenever we wanted. The common areas are all very nice too, great breakfast, and great dinner! There's a sauna you can rent for a few hours which is also exceptional.
Pros: Exellent staff and food
Pros: A very charming and butiful hotel. We will be back!
Pros: We really enoyed our stay there...I can't think of anything I would change...
Pros: We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was of a nice and modern design (we stayed 3 nights at the New York suite), it was spacious, luxury and comfortable. We also booked for the dinners which every night were different, home-made, surprizing and very good for an acceptable price. The hotel is run by an enthusiastic, kind and helpfull young couple.
Pros: We had a great stay at this hotel. The room was of a nice and modern design (we stayed 3 nights at the New York suite), it was spacious, luxury and comfortable. We also booked for the dinners which every night were different, home-made, suprizing and very good for an acceptable price. The hotel is run by an enthusiastic, kind and helpful young couple. Absolutely recommendable !!!
Pros: We found the hosts to be gracious and accommodating. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful bed and bedding. Very good dinners.
Pros: Small size family owned hotel with "an eye for detail". No room is the same, all designed carefully based on different countries. Very nice and helpful owners; relaxed atmosphere; very good coffee! Quiet location; Plenty opportunities to sit outside; close to Jotunheimen (east side about 45 minutes drive) and a lake (5 minutes to public beach). Possibility to have a nice 3-course meal for a reasonable price.
Pros: A wonderful room in a beautiful setting and environment. The staff was superb! I would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
Pros: Very beautiful hotel, the room was large and we had a kitchen and table. The food was fantastic. We traveled with our little daughter, and that was no problem. The area was very child friendly and she loved the owner of the hotel:)
Pros: The location was incredible and the rooms exquisitely furnished. Fantastic breakfast and lovely hosts, including their young son who coped admirably with sharing his toys with our children. Good value for money considering the high cost of everything in Norway.
Cons: In our room (swedish room) there were hanging glass lampshades within easy reach of our young children, one of which got broken and we were given a large bill for (72nok). I don't think this is an ideal room for small children to share, although the hotel in general was child friendly. It would have been nice to have some facilities to make a drink or even glasses for water in the room.

Pros: A beautiful place to sray
Pros: The host said during check-in "old-fashion building..." but not exactly - That's a lovely place with a soul! We so missed such places in our urban life.
Pros: A lovely place with nice views. Near the fjord and the wood. The hosts are really friendly. The place is quite old, but it is the most important thing. It means absolute calmness and quietness. There are no Tv in the rooms and it’s good, because almost all the rooms with the fjord view or mountain view. The hosts will show you the places where you can find mules be walking around.
Pros: We were so happy after our trip to arrive in this cozy place, we felt rigth at home. The beds were amazing, and we had a great night sleep. The entire retro atmosphere was fantastic. we will defenitley recommend this. and if the weather would have been nicer, or warmer, the porch or nearby swimming option would have been an fun addition..thank you betty and rob
Pros: Basic, but nice breakfast with home-made bread. Friendly owner, beautifully decorated balcony.
Cons: There is only one shower and one toilet for each gender. We were lucky since we were the only guests on that day. I guess it might be a bit crowded if all the rooms are fully booked.
Pros: Location, staff and breakfast
Cons: Don't know
Pros: Clean room, toilets and bathroom. Good breakfast and dinner (dinner is extra). Welcoming nice owners. Grocery shop close, 5 minutter walk. Short driving distance to the mountain, Vaset and Syndin is the one I visited. About 20 minutter drive in to Fagernes if you want to do some shopping and/or eat at some restaurant.
Cons: Nothing that I can think about.
Pros: Very friendly and flexible owners. Arrived late but they stayed up to let me in. Also very friendly and flexible arranging special early breakfast at raceday, we started MTB Offroad Valdres 7AM Saturday. Also worth mention is how clean the place was. This is very important when having room with shared bathroom and showers. Here that was not a problem. So clean.
Pros: The location was right next to the road but not to close so that you would get disturbed by traffic, super easy to find and the breakfast was very nice with home made bread. The house itself have a charming interior with a history attached to it.
Cons: Perhaps a few more tables outside for people who maybe wants to use their camping gear and cook some dinner or just chill with a beer or some other beverage, the parking was abit tight if you wanted to park right infront of the building, but there were other spots to park at as well, this was more like a inconvinience at most.
The family-run Knuts Hyttegrend is just 650 metres from the slopes of Beitostølen Ski Resort and 40 minutes' drive from Fagernes. It offers modern, spacious apartments and cottages, and free Wi-Fi in public areas. All accommodation options at Knuts Hyttegrend feature private bathrooms and living rooms with a TV, CD player and fireplace. Kitchen facilities include a tea and coffee maker and refrigerator. A communal laundry room is located nearby in the main building. Relaxation options include terraces, while the large grounds offer plenty of space for kids to run around in. In summer, fishing and hiking are popular activities in the area. Downhill and cross-country skiing can be enjoyed during winter months. A supermarket is 200 metres away.
Cons: No rubbish bin liner, bunks were really small.
Pros: Perfect place
Pros: Centrally located in a nice area. The size of the cabin was perfect, maybe even a little big. We had a lot of space.
Cons: The cooking gear was dirty and the shower has mold. Rooms are very light in summer due to sunrise being so early, which wakes you up. They expect you to clean the cabin but there is no cleaning products, we had to buy it ourselves. Also there is a dishwasher, but no tabs.
Pros: It is in the end of the world, which is what we wanted. The cabin, wood house ,is nice an cozy. You can park in front of the house , the era is nice and you an excellent bakery 200m from there.
Cons: The bed is not the strong side. There was no soap in the cabin and no one told us in advance. It was a problem arriving at midnight after a long way riding without soap at bathroom.
Pros: Good facilities. Near Valdresflya. And the really high mountains
Cons: The view from the Cottage were not fantastic, but nice
Pros: Camping as a camping, clean and tidy. If you go haiking, there are many marked and unmarked trails in the area. There are several grocery stores in the town that are also working on Sunday (it is not common in Norway)
Cons: Extra charges apply for bed linen.
Pros: Clean, well appointed and comfortable. Within easy reach of all the local facilities, shops, pizza parlour, etc. Nice site with a great ambience.
Cons: It would have been better if bedding etc. had been included in the price, that being said, it was not a deal breaker.
Pros: Good location if you have a car to drive to the hiking spots. Wifi was very good!
Cons: The bunk beds are uncomfortable. The sofa doesn't extend as a double bed, as that would have been way more comfortable than the bed.
Pros: Surroundings, lots of space in the apartment
Cons: Everything was fine

Staff can help arrange activities such as horse riding, ski school and elk safaris.
Pros: Nice and peaceful country hotel a short drive from the centre of Beitostol. Cabins are cosy and well equipped. We arrived late so we couldn't try the restaurant.
Cons: There was lack of ventilation in the room where I slept and I found it a bit hot and stuffy. The host was helpful but not very friendly and a bit dismissive.
Pros: Location, staff and breakfeast were superb. Matches the countryside very well.
Cons: Room was quite tiny.
Cons: Very small room and bathroom
Pros: Located deep in the mountains. Great view.
Pros: The host was very kind and attentive - we arrived late, but it was warm welcome, many advices before our hike next day. The apartment was very cosy, well equipped, warm.
Pros: Very friendly owner, who gave us great suggestions for hikes and lent us some books to plan them.
Pros: Super friendly host and very accommodating. Served a very hearty breakfast. Very close to beautiful Nordic ski trails.
Radisson Blu Mountain Resort is in the center of the mountain village of Beitostolen. Within walking distance of all ski attractions. Built in 1965 and it is 3 hours drive from Oslo and 2.5 hour drive from Gardermoen. Conference facilities for up to 650 persons
Pros: Rooms where nice and recently renovated.
Cons: I found sjeggkre (Ctenolepisma longicaudata) i my bathroom. I also payed premium price for a junior suite, And ended up with a room with view of the parkinglot.
Pros: The room we had was superb. Gorgeous views, spacious for our family, lots of amenities. Already talking of planning family ski trip here.
Pros: Everything was very good ! Big rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, clean, pleasant and not very expensive :)
Pros: Very clean, cozy, and the staff were warm and friendly.
Pros: Nice location and breakfast, comfy beds. Free parking.
Cons: Bathroom facilities could have been better maintained / renovated.
Pros: Very friendly staff, perfect location, excellent breakfast and super clean rooms,
Pros: Location, ease of unloading motorcycle
Cons: Nothing I can think of
Pros: Value for money with excellent staff and breaktaking view from rooms
Pros: The staf was very helpful and gave us great informations about walks in the surroundings.
Cons: The amount of money you need to pay for the accommodation is not so small, so it's not funny if you need to pay for using the swimming pool.
Cons: Equipments are not clean, no amenities provided , they apply additional charges for sheets and towels per person , additional charges applied for cleaning the apartment
When you stay at Gomobu Fjellstue in Vestre Slidre, you'll be next to a golf course, within a 5-minute drive of Vaset Skiheiser and Vasetvatnet. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very nice place to stay, cosy and very friendly. We just use it as place to sleep. But it seems like ideal place to stay for couple of days for hiking and relaxing.
Cons: With all fees (to get to the hotel and for linen&towel), this stay could costs more than excepted, but this is very common in Norway.
Pros: Spacious, well equiped
Cons: Although we have confirmed the booking, the reception is closed when we arrived at 7:00 (within the specific check-in time), no notice found on the door, no email, no message left to tell us what to do. We were on an isolated mountain top with nobody around at that time. So we need to pay expensive international phone calls to find the booking.com and the host. End up the host told us the door key was on the door of cabin no. 9. But there was no site map telling us where was that. We finally found the cabin, but totally exhausted.
Pros: Clean, comfortable. Only arrived 6pm and left 6am so can't comment on much other than the cabin we stayed in.
Cons: Rediculous extra hidden charge for linen. 650NOK for 1 night of 4 sheets & towels. Also have to pay 40NOK for boom hate on driveway every pass.
Pros: Location is nice.
Cons: * When we entered the cottage, it smelled bad. Maybe they should have used some room freshener before giving the keys. We arrived very late and asked the host to keep the keys to the door as reception will be closed at that time. We searched for 20 minutes for the keys and finally contacted the host via phone and received them(Good thing is, the host answered the phone and gave the keys during midnight). * There is no microwave * Hot water is very low. Doesn't look like it stores enough for 8-9 persons. Waited for 1+ hour to heat them again and it didn't work.
Pros: The bathroom was newly renovated. Bed was comfy. The personell was friendly.
Cons: We stayed in the main house and couldn’t understand the good reviews of this place: you pay 40K toll fee to drive up there, the smell of old frying oil hits you when you enter, the food (buffet) was absolutely horrible, the breakfast the worst in 2 weeks travel. As its in the middle of nowhere other restaurant options are difficult. Everything is old.Dont go there!
Pros: This was a positive surprise for us, we did not expect such a nice place and accommodation. Very nice surroundings.
Cons: It's wooden 2 floors house, so sometimes you can hear the neighbors from upstairs.
Pros: The property owner was nice but I have been unable to get a response for the money they owe me. It is a beautiful setting
Cons: The cost of the linen and towels was nearly equal to the cost of the cabin It cost you money to get to the cabin as you have to go through a toll, that means you cannot leave and return without paying the toll again I was overcharged for the dinner which was very expensive and even though I was told that I would be refunded, the property then told me there were additional cleaning fees and they would not refund me Too many hidden costs, this was not a cheap place to stay as we thought it would be
Pros: Good walking tours
Cons: The beds. It is The worst bed I ever have slept in
Welcome to Scandic Valdres, our hotel that won the award for having the county’s best hotel breakfast in 2019! Our hotel is located in the heart of Valdres, a short distance from great hiking trails, and both summer and winter activities.
Pros: Good breakfast. Good location and view over the lake. Nice balcony.
Cons: Unclean bathroom and blocked sink. No toiletries. No tea making facilities. No lockbox. Room very warm with not fan or air conditioning. No water fountain in the gym. Door handle to room broken. Very hard to open. Low quality bed mattress. Mini fridge broken and switched off Small room. Only one person at check-in. Slow process.
Pros: Good for parking, swimming pool. Good buffet in evening and good breakfast.
Pros: Great breakfast, great view - if you get a lake facing room. The person at the reception (Alexander) was extremely helpful and positive.
Pros: Nice location, free parking, very good breakfast, very nice dining room, very friendly staff
Cons: too expensive Hotel for low average standard room, uncomfy bed, worn out bathroom equipment, smelly shower soap, location of TV screen was strange
Pros: Modern room with good beds and a lovely bath, central location and easy to find, great breakfast
Pros: It was just right friendly staff great breakfast
Pros: Very good breakfas :)
Pros: Great location by the water, beautiful view from our balcony. And the complimentary breakfast was amazing! Everything you could want and more....and very good!
Pros: The breakfast table was excellent
Cons: The reception staff and that there were no dinner or service on a Sunday . To eat one had to go to a local out of the hotel facility. Not ideal after several hours of driving

Barbecue facilities are also available on site. Other popular activities in the area include hiking and fishing. Valdres Folk Museum is 30 km away. Besseggen Mountain is popular for hiking, and is the start of the trail is 40 minutes' drive from Yddin Feriehytter.
Pros: In the middle of nature!
Pros: Location to hike to Skaget. Everything is somehow clean, and all very basic equipment in the kitchen is available. The room equipped with TV cable, so that we have enough entertainment in the evening. No WiFi, and mobile data is sometimes poor as well, but I consider it perfect, as we need sometimes without internet when having vacation.
Cons: Unfortunately, ants entered one of the room and bed. My son has red spots everywhere on his arm, leg and other parts of his body the next day. We were not sure if it is because we open the window or exist from before. In summer, perhaps check each bed before customer coming would be great. But we have no problem in another room.
Pros: Can experience excellent Norwegian nature. We came late night to the cottage but the landlord was waiting for us and was very helpful.
Cons: There was no shops nearby to buy milk or soap.
Pros: Location / view ( in national.park)
Cons: pillows and duvets were not clean. Steep steps to first floor
Pros: Good design, modern but traditional, living area spacious enough for 2 couples and a dog. Well equipped kitchen. Numerous walking trails not too far away.
Cons: Bathroom has no shower cabinet, water runs over the floor. Beds a little uncomfortable. Kitchen oven very small. Sofa cushions slide around.
Pros: The owner was very friendly. The cabin was very clean, the living room had big Windows and the area was quiet and beautiful. For us it wasnt a Problem, but there is a very steep stair to the bedrooms (might be difficult for some people)
Cons: No wifi; I was missing a vacuum cleaner; we we were a Party of 3: two of us didnt sleep well in the beds (squeaking noise and simple foam mattress), one of us slept well though
With a stay at Bergo Hotel, Leiligheter og Hytter in Beitostolen, you'll be 21.3 mi (34.2 km) from Besseggen Trailhead and 21.5 mi (34.6 km) from Jotunheimen National Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Great location, clean and well-equiped apartment.
Cons: The room with the bunk beads was really very small, with no space for any bags.
Pros: It was a nice location an the living room was quite comfortable
Cons: It was confusing making the booking. I thought we were staying at the hotel but ended up in a private apartment down the street. The second room was so small that only one person could do anything at a time. Linens were an additional charge.
Pros: The location was good. And the apartment had a big terrace.
Cons: Too small. 4 people + 1 dog. The size of the rooms was OK (tight but OK), but the living room+kitchen was like a joke. You could not move without bothering someone else.
Pros: I liked the location and the kitchen, tv and the radio.
Cons: The floor on the terrace was full of holes and the boards was old and dry. You had to use sandals. the bed was not good og made noises when you turned around in bed. The kids in the hotel played football inside in the corridors.
Pros: Me and my friends rented an apartment. We checked in at the central reception at Hotel Bergo but then we had to drive like half a kilometer to the apartment location. The apartment itself was nicely cleaned, plenty of room, nice facilities and well equipped.
Cons: We recieved card keys, a few of which were de-magnetized. Might be due to something we did, but at one time we were locked out of the apartment and had to drive up to the central reception to get it fixed.
Pros: -location was nice right in the heart of the city
Cons: -the apartment was 500 meters away from reception of the main bergo hotel
Pros: We stayed in what seemed like an apartment owned by someone else but managed by the hotel on their behalf. It really is a ski resort and we were there during 'shoulder season' at the end of May so town was very quiet. Nice view from apartment, which was had a balcony and was well equipped.
You'll be centrally located in Fagernes with a stay at Fagerlund Hotell, minutes from Valdres Folkemuseum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and coffee/tea in a common area. Planning an event in Fagernes? This hotel has facilities measuring 1614 square feet (150 square meters), including conference space. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge at scheduled times, and free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Beeakfest was vert bed, old and smell very bed. Not clean hotel.
Cons: I did not like when booked with the Booking.com, one cost come up, and payed with Mastercard. That was only prepaid, and when I come to the hotel, it was one cost on the internett, and when paying almost NOK 1000.- more!!
Pros: Very old hotel and we were told it is being torn down. That fact showed as the hotel needs updating.
Cons: Needs upkeep
Pros: Location and parking. Breakfast was ok (barely). Bed was comfortable. WI-FI was ok.
Cons: This hotel overall was poor, was very overpriced at $162.40 per room per night that we paid and we were disappointed in our one night stay there compared to other hotels we stayed at in Norway and Sweden thru Booking.com on our road trip. Here are our issues: 1) Entire hotel facility was run down. The pictures on Booking.com do not show what it really looks like which is poor. For $162.40 for one night this hotel was very expensive for what we got. I believe this hotel does not meet the standards of Booking.com and should be removed. 2) Our rooms were on the second floor. It was hard for us to drag our bags up a spiral staircase to get to them (no elevator). 3) Our rooms were directly above the Chinese restaurant which is a part of the hotel, so all night long we smelled old Moo Goo Gai Pan odors coming from that restaurant. Do not know if other rooms have that issue but the whole place smells of old cooked Chinese food. The breakfast area is also in the Chinese restaurant. 4) Our room had no soap in the soap bottle! A minor inconvenience (we had some spare soap so we did not call about it) but it was annoying and shows a lack of attention to room cleaning. 5) The shower stall was real dirty around the bottom. Again a lack of attention to cleaning. 6) The small TV had only one channel on it!!! 7) Upon returning to the USA this hotel reported to Booking.com that we were "no shows" which was not true as we got there about 6 PM.
Pros: Location, in area I'm interested in.
