Pros: The hotel is a treasure! Amazing staff, speak both German and English. Wonderful breakfast with very good coffee! Very central location. Easy to find, because the owners provide you with a helpful scheme on how to get to the place. Very good view on the mountains and roofs of the old city. Center is very near, so you can reach it in less than 2 min. Highly recommendable!!! 5 stars!

Pros: Breakfest is taste, host is very kind
7.9 Good
Pros: The location and the breakfast were very good and save parking is available.
Cons: We booked a "Family Studio" with twin beds for 2 nights and requested a room with firm mattresses and a view. On arrival the mother of the owner told us that the room was specifically allocated to us because we had requested a room with a view . The mattresses were very soft, thin and uneven and on our request the mother of the owner replaced the one mattress with one from another room. No other mattresses were available as all the rooms had, according to her, been booked. The mattresses really need to be replaced /upgraded. There also was a bad smell in the kitchen which we later found to be emanating from the dust bin. We however only during the day after our arrival realised that we had been allocated a "Double Room"( which is of course cheaper and smaller) instead of a " Family Studio ", without any prior notice or discussion. When I confronted the owner for an explanation he tried to justify this change in rooms on the fact that we had requested a room with a view. We however found that "our" Family Studio had been allocated to a family of 3 (who would not fit into the "Double Room" allocated to us) and in fact had a beautiful view over the mountain. Although the owner thereafter formally changed our booking and we only paid the lesser amount for the "Double Room", one cannot but wonder whether we would have been charged with only the cost of the "Double Room " had we not confronted the owner about this. The behaviour of the owner was not only very unfortunate but also unexceptable and not what one would expect from an establishment rated as highly as Bergkristall.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very enthousiastic owner. Great breakfast and the view is breathtaking.
Cons: Nothing

7.9 Good
Pros: The Villa Brandstatter is in a beautiful location with gorgeous views. Our host was not there but, upon our arrival, quickly arranged for us to get our keys. Our room was very typical of a small Pension in the area, old and small, but the bed mattresses where the most uncomfortable of our travel this year. It made for a long, uncomfortable evening. Would be nice to have the mattresses replaced. Maria, a friend of the owner, showed up the next morning and cooked us a delightful breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and the members of staff were just great. We booked at 4.45 pm and when we reached the destination we felt extremely valued as guests. We had a great dinner and it was so easy to interact at all level. We decided to stay for another day because there was an Octoberfest inside the guesthouse which was great fun. The location is easy to access and there is a lot of space inside and outside the main structure. There are also climbing facilities and zip wires on the back were adults and children can enjoy. We could also park our 4 motorbikes in the garage. A great thanks to Klaus, Claudia and AnneMarie for the unforgettable experience.
Cons: Nothing really....
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Every Thursday you can enjoy in great spare ribs, but you have to book in advance!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular views from our room, great location, delicious food and a very welcoming host, thanks Claudia.
Cons: Small issue but I would have preferred a bar of soap instead of sachet of liquid soap in the bathroom.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: There is no elevator. Smells like fried food. It looks like they didn't have enough people working.
5.4 Okay
Cons: We stayed in over 200 hotels and travelled before to UK, Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, USA, Canada, Mexico. We never experienced the lack of soap due to the very high cost of it and the owner's belief that only luxury hotels offer soap at discretion. We had three dinners included but we ate somewhere else twice before coming to the dinner offered at Sonnblick because we did not know what to expect. And with no soap available, we wondered if anybody is washing hands when preparing the dishes. Several things could have been better: the presence and availability of soap; beds could have been replaced, soap again, service, soap again, attitude, soap again. Really? Is soap a high commodity in Austria?

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, right near a supermarket and a small bar, a short walk up a (Steep) hill brings you to a small town with a couple of bars and restaurants & shops. Not a lot of English spoken upon check in, but not really an issue for us. We (4 adults) rented the 3 bedroom apartment just for one night as part of a motorbike tour through Europe, (one bedroom used for luggage storage which was perfect). The apartment was lovely with great views from the long flower basket covered balcony, it had a large bathroom and extra toilet. Everything you needed was provided as in cutlery, glasses, plates etc. Really comfortable and large sized open plan kitchen / dining / lounging area. Go find the little wooded hut bar called Die Mühle , pretty much diaganol across (behind the opposite hotel) great music and drinks! Parking behind , some under cover. Very quiet and safe.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel with a great location, and its family apartment was spacious and had plenty of room for my family of five. They offer a prix fixe dinner option which we chose, and the meal was fantastic. The ingredients were sourced from within 100 km of the hotel, from the greens in the salad to the trout to the wine. We stayed during the summer and were delighted to learn that we could walk down the road to find a hiking trail up to an impressive waterfall, a perfect outing for the morning. The family that runs the inn clearly love what they do.
Cons: No complaints at all

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a gorgeous hotel in a lovely part of the Austrian Alps right at the foot of the tallest Austrian mountain, the Grossglockner. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They organised a guided hiking tour for us, which was a great adventure to the glaciers of the beautiful mountains in the area. The views from the hotel rooms are stunning, and the SPA area is second to none especially if you enjoy the sauna. This is certainly the best view I’ve ever had from a sauna! The food is very authentic local cuisine and the waiters are very nice. I can highly recommend visiting the Großglockner and staying at the Nationalpark Lodge! We already stayed twice now and we will certainly come again!
Cons: The town of Heiligenblut is very small. We did not mind, as we went there for a quite hiking and SPA vacation, and the food at the hotel restaurant for so good and so varied that we didn’t mind eating there Avery day. However, for people who look for evening entertainment, this area might not be ideal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing, staff very friendly and caring, facilities are good particularly the wellness area
Cons: Nothing really. I would recommend this lodge to friends
7.5 Good

Pros: Only a couple of minutes away from the Grossglockner pay booth.
Cons: It is slightly pricey but worth it taking its location and the breakfast into consideration.

Pros: Place near ski lift and main road. Welcomming and open owner and staff. Very good food.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: unbeatable location for skiers, very good value for money
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was fabulous. We were a group of 12 touring Europe. We had a meal outside looking at snow topped mountains The host was excellent. It was clean and comfortable. At night the lack of light pollution made the stars in the sky amazing.
Cons: From our point of view it was perfect. You need to be aware that it is in a remote location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner is very kind and accommodating. Good place to stay, so close to the Grossglockner toll gate.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, view on the balcony was superb old guy who worked there was a legend, top bloke. Good food in the restraunt and breakfast was on point.
Cons: I liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy room. Tasty food in the restaurant. Convenient location - closest to Grossglockner. Perfect view.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived later than expected at check-in, but the manager was very accommodating. He even made us dinner since all the other restaurants were closed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Couple of minute drive from town, limited English from owner (and sadly no German from me) but every effort was made to make sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Main advantage for people driving the Großglockner pass, it’s literally just past the final toll booth for the drive so you will not be charged an extra day on the pass by staying here (regardless of which way you are driving).
Cons: Two single beds we had to push together despite booking a double room, easy enough and didn’t bother us too much to be honest.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! Great location if you are traveling to the Grossglockner alpine road. We arrived to the accomodation little late, but owner was waiting for us, welcomed us warmly and helped with the luggage and everything. Rooms were clean and nice, with very nice mountain view. In the morning we got very tasty breakfast with coffee, owner was very positive and we felt like home. We were very sorry, that we stayed there just one night. I would definitely come back and recommend staying in this place. We were group of 4 people, and everyone loved the place. Thank you Gasthof Tauernalm :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Josef, our host, was friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and spacious. If you are heading to the area to ride/drive the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, simply fuel up before arrival so you can take off in the morning - the property is literally at the toll booth.
Cons: The host didn't speak English, however this added some character

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Even though the hotel isn't new and modern, the room was perfect. Older furniture doesn't mean run down furniture. Everything was in perfect condition. The room was spacious and clean Many breakfast options, good dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful ( one evening after dinner we forgot a bag with some stuff on the terrace and found it at the reception next morning) It was a good experience staying here, it's a good starting point if you want to ride the Grossglockner
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast.
Cons: There was absolutely no parking place, contrary to the offer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, good location
Cons: Very basing room equipment. There was no fridge, no tea or coffee making facility, there was no drink water supplied, no drink glasses supplied. The TV did NOT have a single English linguine channel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff here were so helpful when we needed information on the cable car, events on the free card that got us all sorts of other perks. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel. I especially recommend the bircher museli. We arrived late after driving the Grossglocker High Alpine road but the kitchen stayed open a little longer than normal to accommodate us.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Internet work or it not work, mostly not
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, literally in front of the cable car. Very good breakfast. Evening meals were also generally good (and large). The waiting staff were friendly. Pool and sauna area were small but nice.
Cons: The hotel could do with some refurbishment. Water pressure in the shower was weak (we were on the 3rd floor). There are only 4 parking spaces in front of the hotel so you need to park your car on the street further away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location to ride the Grossglockner
Cons: No wifi at the room,
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - position right at the central square in Heiligenblut -the view from the balcony - an extraordinary breakfast, plenty of choices - very friendly and helping staff - clean and renovated bathroom
Cons: - old carpet - old furniture (perhaps is part of the heritage) - lack of parking spots
7.5 Good
Pros: The size of the room was decent compared to other hotels which tend to put you in a box, plus the hotel actually gave us the room they promised. They offered a discount card for various attractions in the park - nice surprise.
Cons: The shower is a bit small for a 4* hotel, no tea/coffee-making facilities in the room, the mattress and the pillows should be harder. Generally, the design of the bed, which was suppose to be a single queen-size, was a bit odd i.e. there were two mattresses on one bed and two duvets - probably something ideal if you are in a fight with your partner. A queen bed should be a queen bed and not two single beds put together. Would be good if the reception was open 24 hours. The hotel did not provide parking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, awesome bar right next to the property, squash court, pool, sauna, and the area is full of places to see. Would love to come back!
7.5 Good
Pros: Restaurant: Buffet for breakfast and dinner were varied and everything was fresh and delicious Staff at the check in was really helpful and nice. I could dry my clothes for free. Bar with charm and personality
Cons: Price was a bit too expensive. A Whirlpool would make the Wellness area perfect. The hotel is a bit like a labyrinth, I got lost a couple of times, but not an issue. The PC at the bar didnt work. Lots of kids.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view is breathtaking! The town is a cute little walk with gorgeous scenery. Super close to Alpine Road entrance and you get a discount. Breakfast included is decent. Pets stay for minimal extra.
Cons: Dinner is a little pricey. And we had to pay extra for water at a buffet!
7.5 Good
Pros: The restaurant serves food at the buffet. Plenty of choice and good tasting. Also very elaborate breakfast. The rooms itself are good. Overall friendly staff.
Cons: Restaurant closes at 21:00, after which you cannot pay by card. We were not informed by staff and were expected to pay with cash, which we didn’t have. After some back and forth it was suddenly possible to pay by card. If staff would have informed us about this policy, we would have paid beforehand. Also the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, eggs cooked to order or omelettes
Cons: Only buffet dinner available, which looked as if it had been there for the couple of hour since service started. Walked into town for food, it's not far but a bit steep if that bothers you. parking garage was available 100m behind hotel.but could do with a serious clean, I was on motorcycle & footing was very slippery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast and good coffee. Highly recommend booking the dinner at the time of booking. It was really great, the best dinner throughout our 10 days stay at different hotels, considering the price.
Cons: Wifi is not always accessible from the room.
