7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owners
Cons: Beds very hard. No airco so room (second floor) got quite hot in spite of cool weather. Breakfast ok but limited.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts Noelia and Rodrigo were charming and extremely helpful. They are clearly very passionate about their hotel and the wonderful Calabria. The hotel is simply lovely with lots of artefacts and intersting things to look at. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a large room with a balcony. The views of the surrounding countryside were delightful. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a good range of local products with a bit of information about their provenance, which was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back if we are in the area again.
Cons: It was all lovely
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners exceeded our expectations and were most helpful in facilitating a taxi to a local restaurant. The restaurant were expecting us and were equally very helpful. All in all a delightful experience

Pros: The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The Casona was is a beautiful old house in a quiet unspoilt area with a larger attractive town within a few minutes drive.
Cons: Not the fault of the hosts, but the nearby restaurant (which would have saved driving to eat) was closed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, well equipped. Lovely bathroom with toiletries. Very friendly host. Nice breakfast with home made produce. Easy journey from Santander ferry. After contacting owner re late arrival I was give key code and room number. The host was lovely and could not do enough to assist. Homemade cake was offered with breakfast. Plenty of free parking.
Cons: Arrived in dark, and because accomodation had closed for the evening there were no lights or signage easily seen from main road. In the daylight it was obvious where accomodation was, signage at road side would have been helpful. Because of late arrival of ferry everything was closed. I would have willingly paid if refreshments could have been available or offered in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely peaceful location, in the countryside but only 15 mins from Santander and an incredible range of stunningly beautiful beaches. Spotless, run by a young brother and sister, they could not be more helpful, friendly and knowledgable the breakfast was brilliant, for 3 euros per person, the bargain of the century. Would definitely stay again, even a lovely play area for children outside. Nearby restaurants were fantastic food wise and reasonable.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Pros: Excellent quiet location. Really clean. Very well appointed. Fabulous breakfast. Miriam on reception was extremely helpful and spoke very good English. For those wanting somewhere near to Santander but in a quite countryside location this is the hotel for you.
Cons: No aircon
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was only a short drive from the Santander ferry and in the direction of our onward journey. The hamlet looked as if it had been lifted from the Austrian Tyrol. Unexpectedly pretty. The room was large, modern and quiet. Bathroom facilities were first class. And breakfast at 3 euros was the best value we've ever encountered. Can highly recommend and will book again whenever we drive to Spain.

Pros: A little gem. Very handy for the Santander ferry. Lovely dinner outside on the terrace. Beautiful rooms. Very helpful staff. The position on the Booking.com map is a little out carry on another 1km up the hill it’s on the left.

Pros: It was the best guesthouse ii stayed on ever. Not a thing to complaints at all.
Cons: The staff where amazing. Then the silent place with the green view !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nestled in the hills with wonderful views in all directions, this gem of a family run hotel is by far one of the best places we have ever stayed at. Very well located, just a short drive from Santander, it made for a perfect base from where we could explore Cantabria. The hosts, Maria and Jose, were fantastic, accommodating and made us feel right at home, so much so, that we extended our stay by a couple of days! Maria is a wonderful cook and the food, made from locally sourced ingredients was divine. Last but not the least, this place is very pet friendly and our dog was blissfully happy with all the open space and the extra treats he got from Maria! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back for another visit or two!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a total gem. I spend a lot of time lookign for somewhere to stay, because if you can find a real gem like this one, it's worth it. We had just one night to spend between a flight and a ferry, and staying here felt like a little romantic mini break (which was what I was after!) :-) It's incredibly good value for what is essentially a really beautiful little boutique hotel. Every room has been created with an individual look, and clearly with such love and style (we asked to look around some other rooms, for a future stay, hopefully!). The design is a delightful mix of old craftsmanship and new design, and it really feels like each item has been chosen with great love and care! We had a fantastic breakfast, all included in the price and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. This is the sort of place I hunt for hours on the web (swiping through 'ordinary', 'ordinary', 'too expensive') to find. We were sad we didn't have time for dinner - which we were told is all cooked from locally sourced, essentially organic produce. It's close to Sandtander, and just a couple of minutes off the main road (but still quiet and rural) - so we hope to go back and enjoy a different room - and get that dinner. I want that dinner.
Cons: Honestly, there was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location and the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for Maria. The apartment was just great, plenty of room and nice and warm. My dog loved the gardens and Maria the owner playing with him. I couldn’t fault this lovely place and as someone else said it’s just a fantastic gem of a stay. Very close to Santander and the motorway without any noise. The ferry arrived very very late but it only took 15-20 mins if that to get there and ideally placed to hop on to the motorway the next day refreshed and ready for another journey. The owner Maria couldn’t do enough to help me despite being hours late and arriving just before midnight. The apartment was welcoming and lovely and warm.
Cons: Nothing, apart from my Sat navs taking me the wrong way, but it was just lovely in the end. Will definitely be going back hopefully when the weather is a bit kinder! I’d love to try the room with the hot tub! Parking was good, Google maps was better than my cars system hitch I believe is a Tom Tom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: nice atmosphere, good food, very nice room and bathroom

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Very good location and amazing views
Cons: Room too warm and difficult to cool down
7.5 Good
Pros: The localization
Cons: No bottle of water... too much carpet on the floor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We travel all over Spain and what we value is cleanliness and a peaceful nights sleep after the hectic days rushing around trying to see everything. This hotel meets those requirements. We have paid £100 a night in numerous hotels elsewhere and regretted it. This is more expensive at £150 a night but its so worth it. Quality costs money. We don't usually have breakfast in hotels. A tostada and coffee is all that we want. One of the things that we love about this hotel is that it has a very cheap cafe where you can have as much or as little as you want for breakfast. We spend a long time waiting for lifts in a lot of hotels and end up walking - not here. The hotel has 10 floors but the lift service is great.
Cons: -

Pros: Old style decor was nice.

Pros: Beautiful hotel, location, the view from the bedroom balcony is amazing.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very classy and elegant, with nice amenities and views over the city and harbor. The clientele is snubby and mostly over 60. The service is very good, at par with the facilities.
Cons: Most of the clientele is obnoxious, smoking, loud and pretentious. The management doesn't seem to be interested in controlling unruly behavior, such as parked private cars right in front of the main entrance of the hotel, or smoking right at the entrance of the restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Splendid decor
Cons: The walk into town
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very large and nice. We also had a balcony that looked out onto the sea. The hotel itself was beautiful - looked like it was a grand hotel from the 1920s. It was also located in a very nice area and parking was free.
Cons: I was surprised that there were not better amenities for guests. There is a spa with a pool, but it was an extra fee and required making a reservation. I would have thought that due to the 5-star rating, there would be some extra perks. Also, the downstairs restaurant was very expensive - €5 for a small bottle of Coca Cola.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location , very helpful & welcoming staff, from the hotel manager all the way to every staff member..
Cons: Pillows are not the best , nor is the Coffee . Shall an espresso machine be one of the room amenities it would be super
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very Classic and has beautiful decorations
Cons: To go to the beach you need to walk a lot, and it’s better to go walking than by car because there’s not much parking

Cons: It is an old building however it is very well maintained and clean

Pros: The room was beautiful with amazing views. Breakfast was a fabulous experience and the tasting menu is the best I have ever had. This was our second holiday at Hotel Real and it won't be our last

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Small room but ok for one person for one night to catch a ferry to UK. A good Continental breakfast buffer. Good coffee.
Cons: Seemed soulless and out of the way. Street parking was ok.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent hotel. The quality of the whole place is very classy. On arrival we were given a very warm welcome. The room was large, spotlessly clean, bright and very comfortable. There is a hot drinks maker in the lounge area just outside of the room. The continental breakfast was top class with a great selection of cold meats, cheese, breads, pastries, fruit, juices and hot drinks. This is a cracking little hotel just a very short walk from some nice eating places and the beach.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like about this hotel!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Continental Breakfast was extremely good -- both quality and range of what was on offer. Nice coffee. There is also coffee available all day in the lounge/breakfast room. The facilities in the bedroom were very modern with a very well equipped bathroom. But the bedroom is smaller than we expected. We did learn that the accommodation was close to a main bus hub/interchange and once we were told the various buses which brought one into the city centre and, in particular, to connect with the airport bus, we managed to make good use of this Bus hub/interchange over our two days in Santander. Jorge , the owner, is extremely friendly and has very fluent English and did provide useful information -- and an umbrella brolly for use during our stay as the weather was very wet and downcast! All staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Bedroom was smaller than we expected - perhaps photographs taken for booking.com were too complimentary? While the location was relatively close to the beach, it was at the western end of the beach and a good distance from the restaurants in Plaza de Italia and Calle de Joaquin Costa. We have stayed at the Plaza de Italia end of the seafront on several occasions in the past and would probably go back to that area when we next visit Santander.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and nice place. Unli coffee. :)
Cons: No parking but we were warned and there were available in front.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Was nice area nice management brilliant shower good hot hot chocolate best vending coffee machine I have come across management let us check in after hours with no extra charge which was great
Cons: Payed for a suite for two people and the picture showed living room but we didn't have one and a double bed was available instead of twin or sofa bed out but maybe I was thinking of somewhere different
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Great shower. Nice bathroom. Good towels and linen. Beds were comfortable if a bit too tightly arranged.
Cons: I didn't really like the general area of the hotel...and it was a little far from the tourist areas. The room was small, with limited space for luggage and personal items. No breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: the room was spotless clean and the bathroom and shower were perfect. There was ac. The host was soo friendly and very helpful.

7.0 Good
Pros: Needs a gym for that price
Cons: Price!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and lovely hotel
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of this hotel across from a long, beautiful beach is perfect. There is a walkway along the water that stretches for kilometers. There are buses every five minutes that go from a stop by the hotel into the center of the city in 10 minutes or less. The rooms were not big, but very comfortable and the bathrooms are immaculate. A big surprise for us was the restaurant. We arrived Sunday night after a long day of travel and decided to eat at the hotel. The food was excellent, although there were few people in the restaurant. The 25 euro menu included three full courses of your choice, mineral water and wine — a full bottle for the two of us. In fact, it was a bit too much food for us, but ala carte options were also available. We’d stay at this hotel again if we were in Santander.
Cons: I’m not a fan of the long pillows they have in Spain. Would prefer two smaller ones.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, ultra modern interior, older restored exterior
Cons: A little expensive for no sea view

Pros: What a lovely find in Santander. The hotel stay from start to finish was easy, confortable with the friendly and helpful staff encountered throughout this unique hotel. Amazingly cool artwork everywhere. The room was large with good storage space. Our large balcony overlooked the beautiful waters of the Bay. Good hair dryer and parking on site. ADVICE TO DRIVERS. GARAGE IS ACCESSIBLE BY CAR ELEVATOR. YOU SHOULD HAVE A SMALL CAR TO MAKE IT WORK. it was great to be able to park our car there due to difficult parking in city . Very nice reasonably priced breakfast buffet.
Cons: Nothing at all. Could have stayed longer but needed to move on.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: cool hotel - would gladly stay there again

Pros: This is the third time I have stayed. As a frequent ferry traveller it gets you over the Spanish mountains before sailing and you can relax. The hotel is dog-friendly - which is a bonus and they have a separate cafe for dog owners so you don't have to leave your dog in the room all the time. My ferry was delayed and they went above and beyond to arrange s visit to thd local vet for more tablets and kept me I the same room for another night.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: House keeping was superb
Cons: The restaurant, both breakfast and dinner was not as good as expected. In fact, during our 7 night stay, we only had dinner and breakfast on the first night and the following days breakfast. A pity
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was spatious and clean, bed extra comfy and you have all you need there. About hotel, it is placed in a beautiful place, surrounded by gardens with an ambience to relax and enjoy your stay. Public spa is great with opening times for families and some time reserved just for adults, and big enough as to allow around 50 people arround. Also breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of choices and plenty of time to enjoy. To sum up, we were for our anniversary and staff members helped me to give a present to my girlfriend and also brought us a welcoming brunch for this special ocasion, we do really appreciate it.
Cons: All rooms count with balcony, however surroundings are great because of gardens, our room was street view, but not imortant as everything else was excellent. Free parking is available inside de place, but is a little bit far from reception and can be sligthy tough to get into it with all your luggage, nevertheless you can always park in front in double line for a short time.
6.3 Good
Cons: Nice building with nice park around. One negative thing was that nothing was included in the price, the breakfast was expensive, also using the indoor swimming pool. Not even a cup of coffee in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The thermal pool!!
Cons: The breakfast is the same for the whole week! Would have been better if they offer other varieties
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The spa is lovely, really really relaxing. The rooms are beautiful, very spacious, airy and clean. Bathrooms are fantastic with lovely showers. Outside pool is fab, really deep in places so great for a proper swim but quite chilly! The breakfast is to die for and the waiters were so attentive over our evening meal.
Cons: The only negative is that the inside pool is restricted time wise for children. Whilst I understand why, it would have been good to know this in advance.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's the best breakfast I've ever seen. The room, perfect but the carpet floor is not my favorite, you can always find dirt on it, but it was pretty clean.
Cons: Nothing at all.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spa type hotel located in historical building with spa facilities. park. Nice room, very good breakfast
Cons: Everything was OK
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The lady of the house so wonderful
Cons: Tea and coffee in room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful location and friendly staff .. lovely to be able to sit outside our room in the evening and enjoy the vista. We found a great local restaurant in the nearby village.
Cons: In such hot weather it would’ve been wonderful to have had Air Con. A bit more sound proofing would also have been appreciated.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The outward appearance of the Casona was as attractive as the photos.
Cons: My partner refused the room in the mansion because of the smell of damp and dogs. We took what looked like a nice room in the more modern annexe overlooking the very nice gardens but which unfortunately also seemed to be damp. As a result I paid up for the 2 nights but left after 1.
6.3 Good
Pros: Lovely spot and beautiful surroundings. Recommend taking a car trip up into the mountains to Vega de pas.
Cons: Limited facilities re breakfast. Unable to pay by credit card.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The history & location of the hotel. Friendliness of staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Has to be seen to be believed. The Landlady trying hard to speak English, don't get to the Port and realise your Passports still in her photocopy machine lol. Good job only 10 mins from port.
Cons: I think for the price the Landlady should consider breakfast included.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and spacious and the bed was really comfy with good quality sheets. The hotel was signposted when we got closer making it easy to find and has the most amazing views to wake up to! We had a room with a jacuzzi bath making our one night stay feel even more luxurious. The staff were lovely and helpful during our stay.
Cons: We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the public car park behind the hotel was full and it wasn’t clear where else it would be ok to park as the area is residential. We quickly found a space in a marked bay to use a few roads away to use.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: In no particular order but all important- location, style, parking, staff, village proximity
Cons: Bar stock - no wine or local beer.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Receptionist was helpful on check-in although didn't seem to have much knowledge of the local area, in particular places to eat so we struggled a bit to find somewhere on our first night. The rooms are lovely, spacious although limited storage space if you were staying for more than a few days. We didn't have dinner or breakfast so no idea if it was good or not. It's in a very quiet area although I had to close my windows due to a nearby dog barking all night long which made the room a bit too warm to sleep.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very old world hotel with matching furnishings but very comfortable. Room had two large balconies which were good for sitting out. The one staff member on at night was extremely helpful
Cons: Very difficult to locate hotel and even more so as main road was closed. Checked before hand to see if hotel had restaurant as this was unclear. It did not but we were reassured that there was a restaurant only 20 meters away and were subsequently directed to it. "Restaurant", although nearby, was a bit more than 20 m., was only serving drinks and looked as though it never served food but this may be the wrong impression. No other restaurants nearby but night staff very happy to arrange an "Italian takeaway meal" to be delivered to the hotel. All very good but not an ideal start to our Spanish holiday
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views are spectacular, the rooms comfortable, and the breakfast varied and delicious. It was the perfect place for us (parents and 6 month old baby) to use as a home base to explore the region. The location is really great and even if you do nothing but hang around the hotel for a few days, the fresh air, views and serenity will make you feel recharged. The staff gave us tons of information about the area as well
Cons: nothing to dislike
5.0 Okay
Pros: The courtyard was pretty. Rooms were clean and well decorated
Cons: Pool water was murky. One receptionist was good, one poor. Not much close by. Nothing apart from the attractiveness of hotel to make it stand out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really comfortable beds, nicely appointed and clean. Good breakfast, great views of The Valley, accommodating hosts, good WiFI
Cons: nothing !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome was lovely and information for our stay was clear and concise. The room itself was unbelievably comfortable and spacious. The location was spectacular and although we only booked in for one night en route south, we will return and base ourselves at the hotel to explore further.
Cons: It's not that we didn't like anything, however the ability to have refreshments on arrival would be nice. We needed to travel a few kms to get ourselves some sustenance after travelling all day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel.
Cons: Difficult to find. Detailed directions from the A67 would be helpful on Booking.com

Pros: friendly and helpful staff comfortable room Good location
Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms. Ideally located for exploring Santander. Parking was an option which is a must for Santander.
Cons: Very noisy at nights. Bin lorries run until the early hours of the morning. No air con, so need windows open at night, which adds to the noise.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located room only hotel with no frills. Clean comfortable room close to bars and restaurants. There is a car park pre booking required although we ended up paying €16 locally.
Cons: Nothing to dislike for the price and convenient location.

Pros: Close to centre

Pros: Good price-quality They sell water bottles at good price during the whole day
Cons: Too small room for 2 people A bit old furniture

Cons: Nothing.
