It was the most excellent hotel I've visited in all my life. It has a frindly staff and helpful, every thing was arengment. I felt as if I'm not in hotel, I felt I'm in historical palace. So, I'm coming to stay in this hotel soon. To be honest, I like everything.
The staff were helpful, the location was very attractive, the room was excellent except for heating, and the food was good both for Dinner and breakfast. The central heating did not work well and we had to have two electric heaters.
Excellent room, spacious and beautifully furnished. Did not take evening meal but breakfast very good.
The hotel was simply brilliant. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and the rooms were very clean. We had a magnificent stay.
Beautiful rooms and great staff. When we complained about the noise in our room they moved us straight away. Can be very noisy in certain rooms if there is a wedding taking place
Beautiful hotel and attentive staff. Did not get the opportunity to try the restaurant this time but we will be back and will try it next time. Although all of the confirmation details on the booking e-mail were for the correct date, when we arrived the hotel system indicated that we should have been there the previous night. The hotel resolved the issue, luckily they were not full.
Efforts by staff to correct glitches which occurred with my room.... the central heating, the telephone, the missing blinds in the shower room The cold. Coming from HK where it is warm compared to the UK I did suffer. However Offley place and staff are unable to control the climate
The Hotel has avery clam & peaceful ambience and the food is excellent. Very helpful staff from reception to waiting. There are none.
Spacious rooms, calm quiet location. Excellent staff, excellent restaurant. No leaflets about local attractions
The staff were incredibly polite but not too formal, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and airy and the grounds beautiful. I didn't mind but perhaps it could do with a lift?
It was close to where my friend lives in Hitchin. Breakfast was lovely and staff very pleasant. Overall good room, although very, very hot!
good friendly hotel, excellent breakfast
The Hotel it's self could do with updating throughout, the cleaning staff could also do with re-training as a bottle of bleech was left in my room but at least that did mean they where cleaning it, however the bed wasn't made nor was my room hoovered in the 3 nights i was there
Very reasonable cost, both for accommodation and evening meal
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was lovely and clean
Secure car parking Milk was out of date in the room. Needed to ask for more tea bags and milk as they were not replenished. Shaving light in bathroom was not working. Although sheets were clean the bed bases were friendly (rolled into the middle) Most disturbing was the fact that a call was put throught to our room 24 instead of 14. It was 02:30 and getting back to sleep was a problem with no apology from the hotel until we mentioned it when asked to pay for a coffee.
It was a convenient place to stay for my partners mums 60th birthday dinner. I used to live in Stevenage so already knew the area and Hotel before our stay. I thoroughly pleasant Hotel with a lovely room and excellent service from the staff.
Very comfortable with friendly staff Not really
The staffs are so kind. There were a dresser and bath tub in the room.I could do internet.I could have a comfortable 3days. It took about 20 minutes or more to the Hitchin Station by walk. I think that was one problem. But when I took a city taxi from Hitchin St to this hotel, it takes just ￡3.So it's not so serious problem.I like this hotel.
convienent to town centre, friently helpful staff rooms clean and comfortable.. Bar closed early.Didnt have food all day but this wasnt a problem for us as we were out and about. It was 2 star and good for that.
Five minutes walk into town. Stayed in small character cottage close to main building. Room was lovely and warm. Very peaceful. Able to make use if wi-fi. Excellent breakfast. All staff extremely helpful. All minor problems addressed immediately.
free internet poor information in the room - meal times etc. no water in room.
The setting, the history.
Very little, not up to our usual standard Terrible bed, uncomfortable and too small
Clean, has more character than the chains and is well-located with plentiful free parking in the middle of town. My phone charger was removed in error by the cleaner during my stay but I retrieved it at check-out.
The location is idealas you can park your car and walk into town. No stress about parking.
Great breakfast, pleasant staff, adequate heating in bedroom on a cold night.Lovely surroundings. Easy access to town centre.
Proximity to town centre Lack of amenities to room. Low standard of fit out, poorly maintained and unclean - i.e. large cobwebs visible.
Quiet, easy reach of centre of town
Proximity to town No information given at check in and no information in rooms with regard to timing or where breakfast would be
The breakfast was a 10/10 night staff on reception left us waiting for entry into the hotel, until he had finished a phone call. Barman ignored us when we tried to order food and drinks and served a customer who had obviously been in the bar all night giving tips to the staff! Night staff were very poor to say the least!
Location, excellent breakfast buffet, good food in evening offerings Unable to call internationally and night staff had no clue about solving situation.
Friendly staff at the reception. Within 10 minutes' walk from the Luton airport. We sat at the hotel restaurant table for 20 minutes without even being noticed by the staff. And oh yes, we tried everything except shouting. They just walked on by, so we left to dine elsewhere. The Internet tv image resolution was lousy and the tv channels did not show properly (antenna or cable defect?)
Room was comfortable, cosy and very clean. Lobby/bar area was cold, was freezing outside but maybe heating could've been turned up.
Location for airport. Good bar and restaurant area unusual for an Ibis. Usual Ibis cleanliness.. Watch out for the pricing policy. The published rate is a fiction. Always book in advance to fix the rate.
the bed was really comfortable none
The location from the airport, very convienient. Ideal for a business person or a family looking for a one night stay. Staff very friendly and efficient There are no complaints
No obvious directions from the airport terminal to Ibis Hotel for guests not arriving by car. There is a regular bus service (stop en route to Parkway) but it isn't well promoted.
perfect location for very early flight next morning
Nothing The room was very small The shower was very small Nothing was good about this place
It's less than 15 minutes walk to Luton Airport The bed in the first room they gave me apparently hadn't been changed from the last occupant since it contained several long black hairs. I asked for a different room and was given one, but this changeover ate into the five hours sleep I was already limited to and should not have been necessary.
We arrived late and the staff were welcoming, friendly and gave an excellent service. Location very good. 24-hour bar a great asset. Room was much too small, very clostrophobic. We stayed in room nbr 106 (ground floor), window faced the car park and we had no privacy - only if the curtains were drawn. Curtains were damaged and did not close properly. Price of gbp 79 far too high for these standards.
Restaurant staff seem to be bothered by our presence and not too will to see if we required service at all or not
Very friendly atmosphere, warm welcome,
Clean room, friendly staff and a decent breakfast. Situated in the middle of the town so shops and bars are near by. No issues I would stay there again.
Was expensive for the very basic room facilities on offer.
no proper shower facility; nowhere to hook showerhead to wall. No shower screen.
our stay at the the lord lister hotel was very enjoyable , we arrived on our bikes ,the lady owner allowed us to put the bikes under/cover for safety , the room was very clean , and the bathroom had been re/fitted , me and my son had a very nice breakfast , there was a good choice from the menu ,the staff at the hotel were very friendly , i would stay at the hotel again ,
We found the room to be clean and well stocked with facilities for comfort. The decor was old fashioned but perfectly comfortable and great value for money.
The hotel is clean and all the staff very friendly. Breakfast was delicious, nicely cooked and very hot although, as with most UK hotels, back in war time re rationed portions. One sausage, one rasher. My room in the Annex was clean, quiet, spacious and had all I needed for an overnight stay. This part of Hitchin has some wonderful old buildings. Very short walk to The Priory (Hotel & Conference Centre). A solitary, thin and rather hard pillow. A shower fixing which didn't quite fit - spraying water around the bathroom. Don't expect luxury furniture & fitments but the room was otherwise nice. Somewhat expensive for what was provided but about the same price as neighbouring hotels where other delegates were staying. One person, one night, £65 B&B. Others opting to avoid the town centre apparently had much better deals and no problem with a short drive to and from.
The friendly and caring staff, the room itself was divine. Having to leave
helpfulness of staff particularly about where to eat. Great breakfast Guest rooms could do with a little updating as decor rather tired. Nice new bathrooms though
Hotel was Luxurious, Staff friendly and Spa facility amazing, would Highly recommend. No, all good
- Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
Luton Hoo is a superb hotel The staff are excellent and very professional the buildings impressive and the dining rooms spectacular .. we did not play golf but we did think the course looked very boring ...the spa was wonderful and the rooms very comfortable and extremely spacious We had a room in the coach house [ an ungrade not asked for but offered ! ] It was above the pro shop of the golf course and very noisy [ beware ]
i booked for my 21st wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife. The entire weekend was absolutely brilliant, outstanding historic building, great facilities, wonderful staff, fab food, we enjoyed the spa too. We will recommend to freinds and return without doubt. no
The hotel itself is grand and beautiful with lots of character. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious. We loved pre dinner drinks and the atmosphere in the lounge with the fire burning. The swimming pool and sauna and steam room were great. The jacuzzi had the most powerful jets and we thoroughly enjoyed being the only guests that afternoon as they only just opened the pool. The walk around the hotel is lovely with the secret garden making it more attractive.
For a stately home it had a homely atmosphere.
Every aspect was ideal for the peaceful, luxurious and celebratory stay for which we were looking. The management of the restaurant seemed to leave something to be desired. Whilst the staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous, many of them appeared to be wandering around aimlessly as if they did not know what they were supposed to be doing. Further, there must surely be something to be said for guests to be allocated tables for the duration of their stay, rather that allocated haphazardly at each meal.
The restaurant in the hotel, The Wernher, was superb. The food was totally excellent. Worth every penny! The service was very good too. The hotel itself is beautiful , inside and outside. The grounds are lovely. When i booked, i was given the impression that the room would have views of the grounds,as that was part of the room description. But we were given a room that was far away from the grounds and below the ground floor. But the room itself was gorgeous.
The buildings and grounds are superb, the spa is very good but most importantly the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Anthony at concierge.
There was insufficient lighting in the bathroom and bedroom to make up. Please please allow pets!

Hotel is very near to airport and i was satying to pick up some friend of mine and it became very easy for me .
the attention given by check-in staff and the comfort of the rooms, good food none
Location location location Nothing bad
nice having a bar, free breakfrast buffet, coffee and tea started at 430am. Very friendly and helpful staff.
closeness to airport, clean, efficient room no warning that there would be a charge for parking the car overnight check in staff short on charm!
Convenience. Restaurant good for what it does. Order off the specials board. Very well sound-proofed.
Excellent location by the airport, nice and professional personnel, professional services, clean
Excellent location close to airport. Very quiet and comfortable room with good shower. Complimentary breakfast was fine with good quality ingredients .On a freezing cold weekend, the hotel was very warm and cosy. Whilst dinner was of acceptable quality, the menu was perhaps overpriced because of the captive market. I do resent paying £5.90 for a glass of not very good wine.
Ran out of things at breakfast time
Fact that rooms are separate, similar to an American-style. Went for meal in evening to bar and it was full of rowdy drinkers with many smokers - we left immediately to go elsewhere,
Great set up. An interesting and user friendly gastropub with easy parking and separate bungalow blocks of rooms, giving good access to pub facilities yet providing distinctly 'divorced' accommodation. Within half an hour of Luton Airport and a good choice to avoid overnight travel and hefty hotel bills. There was nothing that we didn't like
The fact that the rooms were separate from the pub and you had your own front door to come and go. I was only there one night but the staff that I met were not particularly welcoming.
the room was very good and early morning staff, manager much better than evening the evening meal was of a poor standard, query due to new member of staff, but despite onlt two tables in restaurant being used vegetables luke warm and sauce cold
Quiet location The windows had very thin blinds so the morning light shone through. The shower was useless The room was dirty - Cobwebs on the lights and what apeared to be blood on the wall !!!!
Rooms built motel style. Quiet, away from the road, suitable for people with walking difficulties [flat, single storey]. Plenty of parking. Did not eat there but menu looked good.
the food (breakfast and dinner) was excellent, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere in the main hotel/public area was relaxing
The evening meal was lovely The manager had a slanging match with one of the residents in fronot f other guests who were trying to enjoy their breakfast, his behaviour was shocking and totally unprofessional.
Good menu choice, breakfast with ample choice, the rooms very comfy Although the service and food were good we thought the bar felt too male orientated.
The staff were helpful, and the room was very clean and well-equipped. It was convenient for my business meeting. Lack of sufficient on-site parking. Having to pay extra for Wi-Fi.
Pleasant room Food was bland and lacking in quality and imgination - and is real issue in choosing whether to use this hotel again
New hotel - so room was clean, equipment was modern and worked well. New hotel - no adequate payment facilities, lift broke down (we were on the fourth floor), not all of the menu was available.
Comfortable room. Lack of on-site parking, you have to use the public car park across the road.
No on parking facilities
Nice clean new hotel Didn't like disabled bathroom - no bath! Also, lighting in bedroom was awful - does anyone try putting make-up on when designing these things?
Comfortable clean rooms
Very helpful female cleaning operative Paying for parking for nights there.Hotel allowing escort ladies into premises
Engaged staff. Very little on-site parking.
Good value, well positioned for getting around. Comfy beds, great shower.
Bar open late and friendly staff No shower gel ,reception could not supply an iron and iorning board so made us very late for party, breakfast was very limited with no cutlery only small plates , slow toasters and dirty micro wave
comfortable - friendly staff
i had to be transferred to a new room because of a very strange smell !
Express by Holiday Inn always have large well rooms with good bath/shower rooms Breakfast coffee was poor for price of hotel. The arrangements for collecting breakfast were crowded and cramped. The hotel parking was in fact in a supermarket car park and had to be vacated at 10am
The window in our smoking room couldn´t be opened
The Hotel and room was sufficient for my needs as a visitor to Stevenage for business purposes Did not have onsite parking but it's not really an issue as a local car park was 100m away
checking out reception staff not aware of my booking, no iron/ironing board available
I like the service which was provided was very good. Just the general hotel was the best of my stay there was not anythink i disalike about the hotel
I stayed in room 403; however, there was noise from an air handling unit/compressor on the roof above my room which was not acceptable.
Nicely decorated reception area and room. The location isn't great for central Luton.
the cleanliness of the room and facilities in general was quite impressive the shower was faulty in my room, sort it out guys! it's an unnecessary blip on your otherwise unblemished record
For the £65 I paid I wasn't expecting one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I include in this list some prestigious 4 and 5 star hotels and lodges. The room was large, well appointed, the bed supremely comfortable, the shower large and like standing under Niagara Falls and the free internet access and widescreen tv were an added bonus. We stayed in the hotel for dinner and were very impressed with the quality and value. Breakfast at £9.95 was also excellent. I cannot fault any aspect of this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. Let's hope that once the smell of fresh paint subsides the staff are equally enthusiastic.
chack in took too long
Very nice room with upmarket fittings. Paper thin walls between rooms. You could hear everything going on. Very poor breakfast that doesn't do justice to the Hilton brand. Surprisingly the breakfast was no better in quality over a premier Inn. Premier Inn comes out on top in terms of quietness. Their doors don't slam.
the perfect comfort of beds, the cleanliness of the room and bath, the restaurant and its prices No bus to and from the Luton airport. Distance to Luton Airport; although on websites it says the hotel is pretty close to the airport, actually it is not that close.
Lovely new and clean hotel, friendly porofessional staff and a very comfortable night. The restuarant is large and rather lacks atmosphere. £9.50 extra per person for breakfast a bit expensive so we gave it a miss.
Hotel staff very friendly, room very clean and comfortable
so the bed was very comfortable as was the room in general the view from the room wasn't fantastic but thats a stretch to find something wrong to say
Lovely room, excellent value for money
Clean. New. No bar facilities in room. No bar late for customers. Cold reception. Staff foregin and not very warm on arrival. Food awful
Friendly reception and pleasant service at mealtime Small room, not very spacious and heating difficult to adjust
The Food was fantastic They know how to cook there steak you ask for rare and you get what you ask for. there are lots of treatments on offer but you need to book them as soon as you arrive to get a space. The rooms are a little disapointing as there in the extended part of the building. you first arrive and the hotel is old you expect the rooms to have beams in the ceiling and to be unlevel flooring. but was in the extention so the rooms are all new, but still very nice size of rooms.
It was a short stay but would use it to " venture " out to surrounding site visits , ie Cambridge etc Satisfied with all of the facilities
Stayed while attending the Duxford flying legends display, location was very good for travelling. Could do with a cash machine, I had to drive to town centre for cash
This was a business stay as were just about all the others in there. The downside and most dissapointing was the restaurant , which has bee excellent was only offering a mediorce Table de hote memnu. very poor for this class of hotel.
Clean comfortable room with decent facilities. Bathroom was well appointed. The room was quiet and the air conditioning worked well. The sloping top to the basin in the bathroom was disconcerting! We were served a glass of wine that was off and had to be changed
The hotel is lovely; very clean, well maintained etc and the staff are friendly and very professional. During our weekend stay there were four weddings at the hotel and we felt we were treated slightly second rate as we were not wedding guests - it seemed that the weddings dominated the hotel. We did not sleep at all well both nights due to wedding guests sitting outside the bar into the early hours (4am) and chatting outside our bedroom window, which we felt could have been managed better by the hotel management. We also felt that the swimming pool was not particularly useful to hotel guests; when we tried to use it there was only one swimming lane available due to lessons in the other lanes and there were so many people in the swimming lane that it was not a particularly great experience.
New great quality hotel in an impressive old manor house. Highly recommended. It was difficult to find due to the lack of signals.
It was in a tranquil but convenient location and the staff were extrememly helpful and pleasant. I think the hotel has been overdeveloped and has lost the character of the original old hall.
The Grounds were beautiful to sit out and look at One member of staff when we arrived was not very pleasant.
Staff actually smiled & helpfull breakfast choice could have been better.
Room was clean Toilet bowl was in need of discaling.
Efficient hotel - clean and comfortable with reasonable breakfast - staff were friendly and the location convenient.Would use it again if in the area
Easy access from Motorway, pleasant surroundings Unable to control temperature in room, heating either on or off. Breakfast staff not very attentive. No female sanitary products in Ladies toilets.
The friendly staff whom all went out of their way to see that I had a good stay at their hotel. Also, having the Xbox 360 with Toy Story 3 programmed in it, in the lobby was an excellent idea as it kept my 6 year old son occupied while I entertained guests in the adjecent lounge. Nice touch! I usually choose hotels that have fitness facilities. However, there was a pool there but I was a little dissappointed to find it closed forthe season. This however was not the fault of the hotel as it is an outdoor pool and thus can only be opened seasonally.
breakfast need more parking space
i cannot pick anything in particular. the stay was good
Exceptionally clean, just been renovated to high standard, lots of extras in terms of toilet, ies and huge large room ; very good value for money loved the plasma tv children in longue and just by bar ,they were very loud, so went off to our room
Good quality hotel with a very good resturant and helpful staff Some room rates do not include breakfast
Convenient and easy to find - very friendly welcome and everything explained to us. Spotlessly clean and newly decorated. Excellent in every way - only thing I would say would be to change the towels in the bathrooms to ones of better quality as they were thin and cheap and let the room down.
The room was better than expected. Nice, clean and perfectly equipped. Good bed, The lady of the house had stayed at the reception until my late arrival and was helpfull with any questions. I would have liked breakfast, but at least there was a kettle, there were teabags and coffee available.
Warm welcome, clearly family run. Lots of personal touches. Clean, comfortable & nicely located
No one on reception twice I needed some info and could not find anyone. Shower was only running cold water in fact there was no hot water at all, no telephone in room or alarm clock tv didnt work.
The Staff were very welcoming as always. Room clean and fresh Nothing
Well appointed quiet rooms with very comfortable beds. Good attention to detail in rooms and individually themed, e.g. Japanese, nautical. Friendly reception and generous amount of parking. Apart from being able to request continental breakfast in room there is no catering but you do have a mini kitchen. Didn't bother us at all, as we much prefer to get our own food and there is a huge Sainsburys just 1/2 mile northwards. Nothing. It was a perfect guesthouse.
i work away from home so all i wanted was a clean tidy room. no
The rooms were spotless fresh towels everyday and the kitchenett was just what i needed. everything was perfect i have no complaints
Very clean and modern and the man on the desk was very friendly, good value for money
Friendly staff, good location.
Close enough to walk into old town. Too close to busy main road, bathrooms too small, bar and restaurant closed when understaffed (no staff)...
The room was very clean and comfortable, but the shower was a bit small. Excellant breakfast, with a huge choice. There were some guests staying that obiously had no consideration for other people..when they came in at night they slammed the doors, put on the telly loudly and carried out a conversation which we were able to hear through the walls. Unfortunately this disturbed our nights sleep.
A comfortable, traditional hotel in the old town area of Stevenage, it was my home for three weeks.
the location of the hotel was at walking distance to the nearest pub and:or restaurant where you stille could eat something in teh evening as we arrivded at about 0800 from duxford airshow
Friendly staff and very good value for money
Excellent food Very small sinks with shelve in the way.
Breakfast service was very good - parking excellent - quiet location Not enough manoueverability in room 15 and the en-suite - some dust on top of trouser press - otherwise clean and quality bedding - well done abbington
As one of the few hotels/B&B's which allows dogs, it was very nice to stay in a place that did not shove you in a grubby room. This hotel was located in the area we required and was close to the old town of Steveange. The breakfast cook was very nice and friendly.
Good location near the old town The room was noisy at night as you could hear everything driving past on the main road. Breakfast wasn't great
