When you stay at The PitStop in Bishop's Stortford, you'll be near the airport and 6 minutes by car from Rhodes Arts Complex. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The idea of the self help breakfast was great, but I overslept in the comfy bed and did not have time to cook from the range of eggs, toast and drinks. Fab idea. The place was intriguing, as part of a live car parts business, a real must for anyone with an interest in sports cars. The smell in the part area took me back to being 6 or 7 working with my dad!. The cleanliness of all of the individually decorated rooms was incredible! So much effort gone in to everything...and a lovely touch of some toffees and biscuits to have with a night time coffee!
Cons: Nothing really! Seriously!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Melvyn greeted me and spent time showing me around - it is fantastic!. We loved the 'diner' based on Ace Cafe - loved the details, great that we could help ourselves to breakfast - loved the flexibility - the fact we could bring our own food and cook. We loved looking around the cars. We will be back to try out another room and hire a car for the day. It was perfect!
Cons: There is nothing we didn't like about our stay - we had the place to ourselves (which was perfect) but wondered how it might have worked out if it had been full.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything at the Pit Stop. Good, off street parking. Very good hosts. Excellent accommodation and very good Breakfast food. The Pit Stop deserves to be included in anyone's holiday itinerary. It is more than a B&B and it is of a very high standard. The American DIner is wonderful and don't let the self service breakfast put you off from staying here Melvyn and Sindy have everything you need in their diner to feed hungry guests. Not only do you get to stay in luxury accommodation for a reasonable cost you also get to look around the beautiful cars stored there. The Pit Stop B&B is near enough London and next to Standsted Airport. Car enthusiasts should make sure to stay here and even if you do not have a passion for cars, like my w

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very high quality accommodation with luxurious breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice room. Breakfast was continental and nice.
Cons: B&B was on flight path into Stansted which we did know beforehand
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A quirky thatched B&B cottage in rural Essex. The room although small was perfect for our one night stay. The bathroom was clean and tidy with an electric shower. The cottage is on the flight path of Stanstead Airport and on our nights stay planes were taking off every few minutes. Being a geek though I loved it and my Flight Radar app got a good beating. It wasn't overly noisy though as the aircraft were about 2,000 feet up as they passed over the cottage. We weren't kept awake by flights even though apparently the airport operates 24x7. Free guest WiFi was an unexpected bonus.
Cons: I, surprisingly for me, have no negative comments to make.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming owner, beautiful, quiet setting & spotlessly clean. More like staying with friends than most local establishments - units that are separate from the main house are lovely & facilities such as the TV lounge & washing machine are nice extras.
Cons: Lack of full English may bother some but the continental was adequate for us. Some cheese & ham would be a nice addition but it may be available if you ask!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness Comfort Facilities Breakfast
Cons: Delightful hostess. Lovely breakfast. Extremely comfortable bed. Supberly clean and a hot shower Minor criticism were the pillows wern't the best. We would definitely stay again pre flight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome by the host, who was also excellent company at breakfast. Lovely lady
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy, owners very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hosts are very friendly. The breakfast was good and I liked the big shared table. The bed was comfy except for the pillows. The shower was fabulous.
Cons: The description on booking.com does not say that the breakfast included is continental. There were planes flying low overhead for a lot of the time, but the room was well insulated and they did not disturb us. I would prefer to have fresh milk in the fridge in the room and no plastic water bottles. You could provide jars of tea, coffee and sugar instead of sachets, all in the interests of being more eco friendly. The bathroom could be improved by a stool and lots more hooks to put clothes on, and more towel rails to dry towels. The view out of the patio door is a hedge. I did not look behind it so don't know if it could be removed. The pillows were too hard for me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I opted just for the continental breakfast as included in the room rate and it was excellent and more than adequate in quantity. I liked the arrangement of the communal dining table.
Cons: A small soap tray in the shower would be useful.

7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and beds comfortable, the host was friendly and the location was quiet.
Cons: Having to change room because of broken leg on the bed,, having to ask for a bulb for the lamp. I would have expected the rooms to be checked before guests arriving! Pros: The location was beautiful.bed was comfy, room was warm and clean.lots of tea coffee etc.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was very good for us to get to Stansted for our flights. The cats are sweet.
Cons: The decor was in need of a freshen up and the bathroom was very small, with mouldy smell, then noticed mould on the wall by the shower. Shower on off tap was really hard to turn with wet hands. No clear direction as to when breakfast was coming? My husband and I went into Bishops Stortford for breakfast.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The bed was very hard I could hear Cockrells and chickens at 5:30 this morning and I’ve got now long time to waste on this review

Cons: Everything was perfect
7.5 Good
Pros: Great host, nice cats and very convenient for the airport. Surpisingly quiet given its proximity to Stansted.
Cons: Bathroom smelled a bit damp and had some mould by the shower. Room adequate and bed comfy but decor needed a little TLC
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Willows is situated down a country lane surrounded by lovely countryside with just a few other houses nearby. Accommodation is in small cabins in the grounds, each with a pleasant outdoor table and chairs. As each cabin has its own key, there is no problem with arrival times. (We were not flying, just visiting friends nearby, so cannot comment on the ease of getting to and from the airport.) The beds were comfortable but some better pillows and a flat sheet would have made for a more comfortable night as the duvets made us too hot.
Cons: Pillows supplied on the beds were very thin and we only found a bundle of extra pillows and bedding when we were packing to leave - our fault, of course, but it would have been good if someone had pointed out that the untidy bundles under a shelf were actually useful! The décor is, at best, serviceable so don't expect anything smart. The shower was only lukewarm no matter how often we fiddled with the controls. The delivery of breakfast and loud voices from the neighbouring cabin woke us in the morning.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Clean and quiet room
Cons: Bigger TV.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and quiet place to escape city bustle.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very near to Stansted Airport. No aircraft noise and quiet location. Continental breakfast more than adequate.
Cons: Unfortunately there was a water main burst in close proximatey to The Willows which had the obvious outcome - no water!! (Not the fault of the owners!)
7.3 Good
Pros: People are very friendly and nice, the room is warmly decorated and very neat and tidy. The bathroom is nice too, it has a good shower.
Cons: they only make transfers from the guest house to the stansted airport, but not the other way round, so it costs about 7 pounds to get from stansted airport to there.

Pros: Ery clean, excelle t breakfast, first class staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: One guy behind the bar was pleasant enough.
Cons: I didn't feel too welcomed. Probably because of my race. No surprise. They charge you a lot for everything. Ordered a beef dinner. It was awful. The meat tasted like some bad chemical. Was not offered a refund or alternative.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent. Good hosting. Bed was v comfy but a bit warm
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Both evening meal and breakfast cooked to perfection. Staff and locals very friendly and welcoming. Excellently set out, bar area separate from eating are. Real value for money. A pub or a restaurant? you chose, or do both like we did.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome. Lovely evening meal in delightful dining room. Good breakfast. Just room 4 seemed slightly ‘unfinished ‘.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean ,comfortable and generally quiet. I slept well and the check in and out process was very simple. Plenty of free parking.I had to be early to bed and early rise and wasn't disturbed at all.
Cons: A noisy fan in the bathroom made me think I might be disturbing others in the building as I got up very early, but didn't disturb me at all.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable room
Cons: Food was very poor. Ordered BBQ ribs, tasted old, not BBQ gravy poured over, very fatty felt I’ll after. Told the management response 0

Pros: Close to.my son house
Cons: Close to.my son's house
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good space, good faciliites
Cons: Bed was far too bouncy and not very comfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and bathroom were spotless and in good order. I liked the decor. The room was quiet. The bed/pillow etc was comfortable and I slept well. I was given a front door key so I could come and go as I pleased. An iron and ironing board were readily available without my having to ask - as was a hairdryer.
Cons: The basin tap in the bathroom was a little stiff! A slightly scruffy roadside sign indicating when one had arrived - I missed the place on first pass!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good . Food in local pub seemed expensive until it was served, good quality well presented and good quantity. So the price was right.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly, room was very big, clean and had everything one would need. Good location.
Cons: Bed was a bit too firm for me.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was v clean, bed v comfortable. The outside as far as entrance is concerned, needs better curb appeal. When we pulled in, we thy it was going to b grotty. So a little more time & effort spent on entrance, would make a big difference.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Over for a car show so needed somewhere to sleep and safely park the car, didn't need breakfast as had to leave too early for that so Good Intent rooms was an ideal choice. Tony is a very welcoming host, the whole place is spotless and quiet. The local pub/restaurant is an easy walk with good home cooked food and decent beer.
Cons: My only possible comment is that the bed was a little soft for me. This is personal preference and would certainly not stop me from coming back for a longer stay.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Great alternative to a horrible chain hotel and twice as clean.

7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast is excellent. And evening menu has at last been hugely improved.
Cons: Nothing really
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good property Clean Staff friendly Good location
Cons: €20 for early check in is a bad policy ! If Room is ready they should accommodate you!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet rooms. Comfortable bed. Early breakfast from 04.00.
Cons: Breakfast scrambled eggs and bacon were tired and tough by 6am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance from terminal, 24/7 reception, good breakfast, the view
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good, but disappointed that there was no fresh fruit on offer (it seemed to be out of a tin)
Cons: Both mine and my boss's rooms were not cleaned, as we found out at 12.30am when we arrived back from a long day in Denmark! (A manager sorted it out and gave us a discount off the room, as he said that it was not acceptable) The fact that there was no complimentary water in the rooms, which there are at other Hilton hotels that we stay in.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room bathroom facilities, close to the airport, everything in the room that was needed and clean too.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better, although many tastes were catered for.
6.7 Good
Pros: Generally a good hotel, however the restaurant service at dinner time very slow and disorganised
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Checkout until noon. Quiet room. Staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed them. especially considering the 1 am check-in time. Large room and bathroom.
Cons: The signs directing us to the hotel were not clear, except toward the end. At the beginning they led us only to the buses, when the "Hampton" part on the signs disappeared. We had to ask first the bus people (who told us how to get back into the airport) and then the airport people (who told us how to get to the outside corridor leading to the hotel) before we again found signs directing us to the hotel. And this was after we had already seen from the airplane that the hotel was right next to the airport! I think breakfast could have been extended to 11 o'clock, or at least part of it, such as the coffee machine.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location when your flight is very late around midnight, the proximity to the airport (walking distance) helped me settle in quickly instead having to go all the way to the city.
Cons: For the price, the room especially the bed could be better. I think the breakfast space was very crowded and I think the food could have more variety and possibly labeled (allergens).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast which we could eat on the run to the air terminal to catch our early flight
Cons: Charges at the bar were exstorchanate. £4.95 for small 330ml Budweiser

1.0 Poor
Cons: Distance on the middle no where no taxis
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly welcome
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple, clean, does the basics well and keeps the price down.
Cons: A little bit out of the way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money, lovely lady looking after the house couldn't do enough for people. I would highly recommend this for a stopover when using Stanstead. Breakfast was as you would expect in any European establishment, fresh cakes baked and left out for the guests.
Cons: Nothing.
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely hosts. the room was clean and pleasant and the hosts were extremely kind.
Cons: I chose the guesthouse for its affordability close to the airport. Unfortunately due to traffic diversions, which the taxi driver tells me are frequent it actually takes 25 minutes each way to the airport at a cost of £20 each way. It would therefore have been better for me to have paid £90 for a hotel right near the airport, rather than an ordinary guesthouse far away. I also have a nylon allergy so the bedspread gave me a rash.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The pub up the road.
Cons: Room was very basic, bedding was very old style, no bed side tables to allow you to put water cup/tea cup onto over night. Was noisy as people come and go during the night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was super hospitable and gave us loads of information on attractions around London and what's the easiest way to get there. Comfortable beds, tasty and simple food, nice location and a cosy garden. Free wifi that worked perfectly too.
Cons: Had problems with the shower, it wouldn't heat up the water no matter what setting it was on and the pressure was way too low.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very helpful, happy staff lady. En-suite was a surprise and the kitchen facilities very good.
Cons: No bedside table to put glasses and the table light in the room did not work. Late arrivals at 1.15 am were extremely noisy and above my room so a lot of banging and I could hear their footsteps and talking for an hour. It was noisy at that time of the morning, I asked them politely to please be quiet, we had early flights. But they ignored this. Perhaps they could have been asked by the staff to think of others.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean

Pros: Ideal location for those who flying out from Stansted Airport and just have a spend a night or two. All facilities provided. Comfortable stay.

Pros: Excellent breakfast..only thing I just missed breakfast on the last day.. it was gone 10 am so I quite understand and the staff were kind to find me a croissant etc..I did say that it would be helpful to have the closing time for breakfast posted up somewhere for people like us who had a late night (wedding.)

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Check in was very quick and efficient. I was given a newly refurbished room which was impeccably clean and tidy. I happened to be there on the Spanish night so had Tapas which was fantastic and highly recommended. What a great little find!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I thought the rooms were lovely and re-furbished to a high standard. The location was lovely and very convenient for the wedding reception we had attended.
Cons: The cooked breakfast was lovely but not really what I wanted since I would have preferred fruit, yoghurt and toast.
7.9 Good
Cons: If you like cerials, fruit,, fruit juices, yoghurt, toast and marmalade, etc for breakfast..... you can't get any of them. Only set cooked meals like full English, eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled egg etc. Dinner good.. The bedrooms are good but the mid-stay tidying is lax. No toilet rolls, wash basin not wiped over etc etc.
6.7 Good
Pros: Breakfast Too large ... need a smaller alternative.
Cons: Noise all night from machinery
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff excellent, room stylish ,
Cons: We stayed for 3 nights and were very surprised that the room and bathroom was not cleaned in that time .

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were very comfy and quiet, with extra large beds. Good shower and TV. Private and nicely decorated. Staff extremely polite and attentive. It was helpful to be able to book a single room as part of our party of 5 at a very reasonable price.
Cons: It had obviously been a busy weekend and the restaurant was extremely busy. Service was good but the food was pretty disappointing, to be honest. Also there were no towels or toilet rolls in two of our rooms, but this was immediately put right as soon as we told the staff.
7.5 Good
Pros: Cute little Inn - you get what you pay for. It's clean and nice, but don't expect anything over the top. Full breakfast included in the morning.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an evening meal in the restaurant with friends. The service was good and we all enjoyed the meal and the ambience. The location is good and easily accessible, with adequate parking.
Cons: Special diets are not well catered for, soya milk is not normally available, nor non-dairy spreads for people with dairy intolerance, although they offer vegan meals on the evening menu. The first morning the bacon was really fatty, badly cooked and presented but as I requested it to be well done on the second morning it was grilled and better, though a little dry and over-done!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Owners we very friendly and were very welcoming. The establishment was very clean and comfortable as was the room.
Cons: When booking I was advised that breakfast was included in the tariff. On arrival we were advised that the breakfast included is only a continental breakfast and would have to pay for a cooked breakfast. In addition, the continental breakfast was only cereal, toast and coffee, not a traditional continental breakfast, which was a little disappointing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I had to stay close to the airport to get up REALLY early in the morning. I have stayed here once before and it is friendly and the check in is so easy. There are rules and times about what time you can check in and luckily that all worked out for when I wanted to arrive. My room was big and faced the back garden with windows on two sides. I actually think there was only one other room occupied when I was there and it was lovely and quiet! It is a lovely guest house with a garden outside. I walked 15 minutes to The Three Willows for dinner (lovely food and great service). I also went for a run in the fields closeby. You would never know that Stansted is only a couple of miles away. I can't comment on taxis/buses as I was dropped off and picked up so for me this was perfect. Sadly, I left too early for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building in a nice residential area, well tended property including gardens. Guesthouse was spotless, quiet and peaceful. Continental breakfast was good - fruit, yoghurt, muesli, cereals, toast and coffee/tea. The one member of staff I met was efficient, polite and business-like. A delayed flight meant that I overshot my arrival time and I received a text from the guest house informing me of the latest check-in time, which reassured me as it gave me an hour and a half leeway.
Cons: Couldn't have found the place if it weren't for the satnav in my car - and even that needed two goes. Maybe some more detailed directions to the property would help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful I was also given a free upgrade (not requested)
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful property and spacious comfortable room and bed Lovely gardens
Cons: Further out than indicated online and I had no car so quite a trek from bus stop Tiny shower cubicle and no bath - more like a converted cupboard Disappointing breakfast - was looking forward to continental expecting continental = no croissants or pastries in sight or cold meats just cereal and toast and juice which was ok....ended up looking longingly at fellow guest's lovely cooked breakfast!! No option to have this given Another trek up to bus stop to leave village - my problem I know as not driving but booked another stay closer to airport next night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The orner was very kind and helpful. The House and graden Werge besutiful.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful home, great location after an evening flight. Very friendly and accomodating family. Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower water temp couldn't find warm- had to keep alternating hot and cold
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Host was super-friendly and very accommodating: after checking in, we had to go out for quite a while, and we were unable to be back until quite late. The host waited up for us. Next morning when we left we accidentally left a coat behind, and only noticed a couple of hour s later. The host made light work of sorting it out even though she was not there. Very helpful!
Cons: Room is quite small and the bathroom, though big enough, is also quite small. The on-site parking is quite tight, but there is ample parking on the verge across the way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and friendly, ideally situated for my early flight from Stansted.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really comfy bed, nice breakfast, TV and hairdryer
Cons: Hard to find thing to turn shower on. Then it was a bit too hot!
7.9 Good
Pros: Near the airport, easy to use public transport to the airport. Late check-in
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near to the airport but not on flight path, easy access to airport taxi but on main bus route to airport . The property was cosy and owners very welcoming with great customer skills . I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others . 10/10 I would rate my stay here .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal for my business trip as I had to travel to Woodbridge in Suffolk the day after. The host was lovely. She made you feel very welcome and was on hand to assist with ensuring your stay was stressfree. Breakfast was excellent and the room very clean and welcoming.
Cons: I have nothing negitive to say about my stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast included everything, from full English to cereal to rolls and cereal bars. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the house in charming old English style.
Cons: The shower could do with a new shower head, but otherwise all well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The land lady is lovely. Perfect location for the airport.
5.0 Okay
Pros: This facility is close to the airport and the host offers to take you there by her car, if you need to, which is practical and we were happy to accept. She is also interesting to talk to and her family history is fascinating. The room was decent.
Cons: We were surprised by how connected we were with the family, you have to go through the dining room every time you go somewhere. We rather stayed in the room. Also you can hear the family talking and any movement from the other rooms which are very close. It looked like if there was another guess, we would have to share the bathroom with them. Luckily, we were the only guests there for our stay. It is a decent accommodation for a one night but England generally has very different standards for hotels and B&Bs. What is considered a 3 star in England, is actually a 1 star in Canada and a 2 star in Czech or Spain, for example.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cozy and lovely cottage, with a bus stop located just outside the cottage. We had a very nice breakfast prepared personally by the host herself which includes a wonderful spread of bread, cereals, toast and cooked eggs and bacon. Thank you Carol and I hope your cough is better.
Cons: As I arrived pretty late in the night, the only way accessible to the property is by cab.

Pros: The location to the train station was good. The breakfast was nice. The dressing gowns in the cupboard were a nice touch as it was a shared bathroom. Decor was quirky.
Cons: The doors were creaky and woke me up quite a lot in the night (especially as it was a shared bathroom so people were getting up a lot in the night). The bed wasn't massively comfortable.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is really good, in a quiet street 5 min walk from the train station. The room was really nice and we felt like at home. And the breakfast was awesome! We will stay there again in the future
Cons: No complaints at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quirky decor, the art on the walls. Also the attention to details of our comfort
7.9 Good
Pros: I had the top floor ensuite. It was small but enough just for myself. In the room there was everything you need - coffee machine, water, TV, great toiletries, clothes rack. Shower and hot water were just perfect! Breakfast was very good and the owner very attentive. She even helped me to book a taxi which was great!
Cons: There’s nothing to complain about just a few details to look at.. The owner never introduced herself so I never knew her name! Towels and pillows were a little too old. The room was quite clean but the armchairs needed a good vacuum. As said nothing too serious.
