Pros: Hotel Daro is located in a small village, a 15 minute drive from Stiavnica. The modern building features a small but very nice wellness section, a restaurant and bar. Rooms are modern and comfortable with excellent beds and a high quality bathroom. Food served in the restaurant is very tasty at very reasonable prices. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning, especially the good coffee. Staff is very attentive.
Cons: Being a very tall person I noticed that both sink and toilet were fitted quite low in my bathroom.
Pros: Superb staff, quite helpful, friendly and polite. The hotel is modern and comfortable, the rooms are beautiful and clean. The spa is a plus. Highly recommended hotel.
Cons: There is no elevator (only stairs up to the 3rd floor).
Pros: Great spa, friendly staff and excellent chef!
Cons: The air refreshener of vanilla aroma they use for the rooms is way too strong and I had to sleep with a balcony opened
Pros: The hotel was very clean. The staff were excellent. The room was really nice and spacious. The restaurant was excellent. I had one of the best beefsteaks I have EVER had there.
Cons: Unfortunately there was no lift. Luckily I was only one floor up. There was no air conditioning in the room and at 32deg in the day it was a bit hot. But, all in all I would stay again if I was in the area.
Pros: Clean and comfortable rooms, very nice staff at the reception And also in the restaurant, delicious food and very good cook.
Cons: Location could be better but still it’s in the middle of amazing nature so thumbs up!
Pros: The hotel was in a quiet location, with lovely bush outlook. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly helpful, staff who made us feel very welcome. The room was small with a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was modern with a good shower. We had dinner and breakfast and both were of good quality. There is parking on site at no extra charge.
Cons: There is no lift in the building, we were on the second floor, but fortunately the staff helped us with our luggage.
Pros: food, staff, rooms
Pros: Very clean, friendly staff, super delicious drinks and meals. Looking forward to come again!
Pros: Nice three star hotel with boutiqe like style. The wellness is small but you can find really everything what you need to get full relaxed and reloaded. My kids loved the pool billiard in the bar what we used daily and it is free. You can park really close to the main entrance. They also have a separate room where you can keep your ski suff in a safe and warm enviroment. The rooms were clean, well equipped and were nice. The beds were very very comfortable. The staff was very kind, and was very helpful. Both the a'la cart and the daily menu was really delicious and the portions were also OK. Banska Stiavicna is approximately a good 20-25 minutes drive. The downtown is mall but vey nice, protected by UNESCO. There is also a great spa location in Skleno Teplice in the near where you can do termal spaing either in a cav or in a very nice bath.
Cons: The WiFi coverage in our room was not so perfect, they could not finetune it during our entire stay. You get mainly TV stations with local language. So if you want to see other channels then it is better of you take you Google AnyCast or Chrome Cast with you. Few additonal or bit bigger wardrobes could be also required in the rooms but it was not critical at all.

Pros: I liked approach of the personnel -at the reception and in the bar too
Cons: Comfort in the room.
Pros: The location is in a nice and quite area far from the busy roads. The breakfast is good and the dishes you choose from the menu a la carte are top quality. The wellness area is rather small but well equipped and clean.
Cons: I encounter problem when I want to pay with the credit card and unfortunately there is no ATM machine nearby. You need to have cash with you. The staff was understandable and allowed to pay by bank transfer and gave me a period of grace for that.
Pros: The Stuff was very nice.
Cons: The room could be bigger.
Pros: Wellness was perfect, I can only recommand.
Located in Hodrusa Hamre, Hotel SALAMANDRA is in the mountains, within a 15-minute drive of Slovak Mining Museum - Jozef Kollar Gallery and Trinity Square. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: We didn't have a/c in our room.
Pros: Perfect location - amidst the mountains, beautiful spot next to a little lake and chairlift. This is ideal for skiing and tourism. Hotel is nicely designed and built, with excellent cuisine and good wellness.
Cons: Nothing particular really. Visitors should realise that it is family friendly (especially in high season) and this may not be ideal for couples without kids.
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Salamandra hotel a lot, especially due to location – it’s surrounded by beautiful nature with plenty of possibilities how to spend the time (using the lift and make a walk with beautiful views, swimming in lake full of fishes, renting the bikes…). Also the indoor activities are great especially for families with children – the inside pool and children area. The hotel restaurant serves really great food. The apartment was as on the pictures – spacious and nicely decorated.
Pros: We stayed in an appartment, which was really nice and big. The room looked clean. The hotel had a nice swimmingpool where you can find float items for children which you can use. There are towels and lockers available at the swimmingpool. The hotel has a nice play area for younger children. Our boy loved it there! There is also a play area outside and there is a lake with a little beach. A nice place to stay for families with younger children.
Cons: The hotel had a restaurant, we did not feel very welcome there. The waitresses did not seem to notice you. You can choose between the buffet or a la carte. The food taste fine, the food came quickly, to quick to make a fresh risotto. The menu was only available in Slovakian. The staff of the hotel can certainly be more welcoming and friendly. 15 minute drive to Banska Stiavnica, the road leading up to the hotel did not always feel very safe.
Pros: The hotel is by a lake, in the middle of the forest. Has a very nice, calm atmosphere. The food is delicious, with a great variety. The wellness is clean and nicely warm, never too crowded, ideal also for kids. The staff is elegant, kind and caring - we had a problem and they promptly offered help, highly appreciated!
Cons: The pillows are awful, sorry :D
Pros: Nice place for families and for sports fans. A lot of activities indoor and outdoor.
Pros: Very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing location and property. Outdoor recreation activities galore, and only a chair lift ride and hike/cycle journey away from a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Pros: Beautiful environment, excellent food, nice personnel, amenities and activities for kids were great however there are no separate areas for big and small kids and if the hotel is full this is a problem
Cons: The wellness is a bit small but very nice with nice and qualified personnel
Pros: The room (215) was enormous and even had AC (though not advertised). Location is pretty and in summer you have the option to swim in the pool and the lake. staff was friendly and explained the whole (only Slovak) menu for us.
Cons: Breakfast buffet was good but the coffee was a joke. It's really catering for children. Some like it, some don't. Restaurant is a bit overpriced, although the food was nice.
Cons: The personnel in restaurant shall be removed and replaced. This is not acceptable one has no interest with the hotel guests to the point that waitresses would not even take an order. We were very unhappy about what we have spent and what we have received.
Situated 10 km from the UNESCO-protected town of Banská Štiavnica and set in the village of Hoduša-Hámre, Penzión Banský dom offers accommodation in modern rooms, a restaurant, a bar, free WiFi available in all areas and free parking possible on site. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom equipped with a shower. Breakfast is served in the onsite restaurant. Guests can also enjoy a wellness centre with a sauna, a hot tub and a hammam. Business facilities are offered for a surcharge. Various activities can be enjoyed in the surroundings, including skiing, horse riding and cycling.
Pros: Place is located in beautiful village, perfect gateway for walks or relax, short drive to Banska Stiavnica and lakes. Expect cosy, clean modern room, soft mattress, and plenty of tv channels. Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Didn't expect to have freshly baked bread rolls or bread, but it would be nice :) we found them too gummy, perhaps from last day (?), food is tasty, but lunch & dinner portions are bit small. I would expect more sides or perhaps some traditional starter etc...We tried other nearby places and we got better value for money.
Pros: Very nice reconstruction of old house. Quality materials used in rooms. Great bed. Quiet place.
Cons: Nice but bit cold faced staff. Restaurant and bar is open only until 9am and after that staff was pushing us to leave. But ok... Food was great!
Villa Silver Green is situated in Žarnovica and features a garden. All rooms boast a kitchenette, a TV with satellite channels, and a private bathroom. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and free WiFi. The rooms will provide guests with a wardrobe and a coffee machine. The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire and car hire are available at the guest house. Zvolen is 41 km from Villa Silver Green, while Vyhne is 11 km from the property.
Pros: Excellent location, close to grocery store, pizza place, and late-night bar with decent pool table and tunes. Right on the bus / taxi lines for the show we came to see. Room / furniture was funky (seemed still under reconstruction) but with plenty of space. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was new, and best of all the place was a graveyard at night - super quiet. Upstairs common area was new, with nice kitchen and terrific balcony with lots of space to chill. Owner was helpful and communicated on time and with good English.
Cons: Bathroom sink didn't work... at all. This definitely put a damper on my planning as it was super time-consuming to shave, etc. with no working sink at all, using water bottles bought from the nearby (thank God) store. It sucked up a lot of my time every morning, with friends waiting for me. I could survive it, but it's not something I wanted to find out last minute. And once the owner checked us all in, he was gone for the entire weekend. **** Also, front door doesn't lock - we had three people try it, and it was impossible. And room locks were only simple, single-turn affairs. This caused us all some stress, but that's why you don't carry anything you don't want to lose while traveling. However, these issues would really need to be solved before I would feel comfortable staying there again, as I'd like to for next year.
