The view from the room and the surrounding area of the hotel! I loved being charged for two extra add ons every morning for breakfast even though I had them included for staying in a private room and handed the vietnamese worker both mornings the voucher :)
The service is probaly the worst ive ever experienced in an establishment that has so many workers. There is no communication between the english speaking staff and the vietnamese staff. The vietnamese staff pretend they no what your saying and in turn they get every order wrong. Over the four days we had a mistake with every order breakfast or dinner. One evening, I watched my burger be left on the side of the bar for 20 minutes because the vietnamese waiter didnt know who it was for and then once figured it out tried to give it to me as if nothing was wrong. I asked for another one to be made and he stormed into the kitchen cursing me under his breath and didnt even look at me to apologise. As we were a group of 4 we all ordered together each time we ate and each time one of our meals would come 30 minutes after the others. Once we waited 50 minutes for a chocolate brownie! They claim to offer these amazing day tours but twice our cycle tour got cancelled due to it only being myself and my partner wanting to go. This is fine but to be told 1 minute before we were supposed to go when we could have made plans for the rest of the day was not on. We went to the joining beach bar which is about 10 minute drive away, we got told to get a reciept for the taxi and we could get it refunded of course the staff at the beach bar had never even heard of this but we got it in the end. On the last day of checking out we decide since we are not going to get to go on the cycle tour we should try cycle ourselves. Nobody could even try to explain to us where we should go, we asked about 3 different members of staff! And the worst part it was our last day and they decided to tell us then we get the bikes for FREE because of our private room. Drink is over priced compared to the old town, English speaking staff just there to party and get with other backpackers. I dont know how VBH have such a good reputation after staying here.
Amazing facilities, especially considering it’s a hostel! The open-plan pool, bar and restaurant area as a great vibe. Our private room was modern, clean and cool, with a huge bathroom and grea shower. Staff were pretty helpful, especially Emma, an Aussie girl, who gave us tips and organised our car to the airport on the last day.
Nothing, but don’t stay here if you want somewhere peaceful and quiet.
This is definitely a PARTY HOSTEL. It's not a social hostel with a party side. It's a party hostel. I hadn't heard of VBH before and made the mistake of coming here. If you want to sing karaoke and drink beer at 10am then come here, if you don't, go and stay at one of the Tribee hostels in town which are lovely and social.
Very good value for money, great double rooms for the price and good facilities
The service and add on costs were excessive
I loooved this hostel for sure my fav out of all the others I stayed in. It felt like Miami Southeast Asia version! The staff was so friendly, the atmosphere was great, they take you by free shuttle to bars and clubs they have scheduled for that night and then free shuttle buses back. Really great 5-star experience hostel, I've been recommending it to everyone that was travelling up or down Vietnam! Loved the fact that there were no bunk beds you had your own single bed! Amazing!
To be honest, nothing!
