Service in the bar......
The location on a bluff overlooking Columbia River is fantastic. The patio extends onto the natural rock outcroppings and a 200 foot waterfall is along side. The breeze never let up and you felt like you were on top of the world. The beautiful grounds and gardens were also an added treat. Secluded from town by a couple of miles but we didn't see that as a negative at all although some may.
Close to the small town of hood river. Staff was super friendly and the spa was to die for! We got 90 minute massages! Best ever! Happy hour wasn't really happy. $12 for fish tacos doesn't really seem like a deal. The only drinks for happy hour pricing was wine and not a great selection at that. We had breakfast there twice. The first time was delicious, but the eggs Benedict was less than great. We give it a 6. Eggs were under cooked, the sauce lacked flavor. We filled out our ticket for breakfast to be served to our room but it was never picked up so we had to call. They were pretty prompt though when delivering it.
Great food at the restraunt, clean rooms and beautiful setting.
The rooms were deceptively small. Small rooms are not an issue, the problem lies in the expectations that are set through the online descriptions.
No pool or hot tub was disappointing for a higher end hotel
The penthouse is 6 stars! Perched above the river with panoramic views, bald eagles flying at eye level just outside the windows. Spacious, luxurious. Highly recommend!
Everything The shower head in room 102
When we checked in they upgraded our room to a view, loved being right on the river. Also having a voucher for a sit down breakfast was a plus!! We had already paid online, but they charged my card anyway. They took care of it right away and were very nice about it.
Room was great but a little expensive. Food and service wasn't great and overpriced. $14 for 3, 1.5" meatballs.
Clean Room AC works Cranky and poor customer service They literally scan your whole credit card into their computer. Loud if you have a lower room, you here every foot step. Did I say cranky and poor customer service.
clean, quiet, but extremely slow internet. inside - shower curtain rod was loose so curtain did not hang correctly, letting water leak onto floor. Outside - grounds were trashy appearing, especially near entrance and outside North facing window.
Comfortable room Reasonable price No hot tub
location, friendly service, TV channels slow internet
Nice, spotless new building Great bed Large bathroom Staff was very friendly and helpful No toilet lid to close Very poor curb appeal (but, very pleasantly surprised with interior)
Funky, fantastic view from bed! Nothing
New room. Comfortable bed. Great bathroom with awesome shower. We had a great stay!
Great staff, clean new rooms, overall such a great affordable hotel
There were large outside lights that projected significant light into the room during the night, and there were numerous ambient lights in the room that could not be turned off. This made it extremely difficult to sleep well even when the outside lights were supposedly blocked by the window blinds. Suggest to other guests and/or supply eye shades.
The Riverview Lodge had really nice staff and was in a great location, about 5 minutes from downtown Hood River. I was very pleased with our stay.
Walking distance to three breweries and several restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would choose Riverview again.
The location was central The staff locked us out of our room because our children, who were staying at the Hood River Hotel, came to visit in the evening. The staff assumed they were staying! They did not service our room or give us clean towels. The staff seemed almost hostile. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
The interior of the room was cleaned well, and the location was good. The staff was also friendly. Unsettling outward appearance. Lots of flies and bugs in my room... I felt more comfortable sleeping on top of the bed in my own blankets. Sound insulation wasn't the best.
Nothing, This was the worst motel we have stayed at in 23 years of business travel. No Internet (Unusable signal), Desk legs loose, no lamp shade, Window leaked, Bed corner nroken, Floor was never cleaned for four days, night stand had last guests stuff, no towels, bed not made, no ice.
It was Ok. I could not find an Ice Machine!
the bed and the towels only way to get ice was going back to ask at the office
King size comfortable mattress Ants in room. Garbage can right near parking and motel that was very stinky. Carpet not clean near baseboards.
Very Nice, comfortable bed
location Room(s) were crappy. Would not stay there again.
Good proximity to the river Very uncomfortable bed; musty smell; toilet in the shower. No idea how they get away with charging $120+ / night. Stay literally anywhere else nearby and you'll be better off.
The room we stayed in had dirty sheets. The room smelled. The manager was very course. The toilet is in the shower, seperated by a curtain.
Got a ground floor room. Didn't have to deal with stairs. Big, tall king size bed.Down top bedding. No ice.No place to get ice late night.Bathroom floor drained slowly.
Columbia Gorge Inn is a great value. It is no frills and no surprises: you get a rock bottom price and a clean room and good service. I will stay here again!
The new comforter was nice. The sign said the hotel was under new management, but the outside grounds and hotel itself were awful. This hotel was a joke. It is a hole in the wall, literally. We had a cracked toliet seat, the toliet and shower were all together in one little 4x4 room. Not very convenient. Also, our floor was wet because the sink which was located out in the main room with the beds was leaking. Also, under the sink the wall was patched together with duct tape or something like that.
