Free shuttle to the airport. The rug was stained and one of the upholstered chair was soiled. Also, no coffee pot or supplies in the room.
The Quad rooms are really huge and very comfortable. More than sufficient for our family of 2A and 3 C. The free bus shuttle between the hotel and airport is very convenient and runs on time. Reception staff were very helpful. They let me use their PC and allowed me to take a few pages printout. Rooms had no kettle. The walk from reception to the rooms using two separate lifts was a bit tiresome. No help from the hotel for this.
We stayed here two days(not consecutive) and the hotel was very nice! The first night we stayed we had a great room, it must have just been re done. The bathroom was amazing with a huge tub and a separate shower with a rainfall shower head! The room was huge and very clean! It was decorated very nicely! The staff was very nice and helpful! There was a balcony which was a plus. They had a shuttle that took you to and from the airport which was very convienent because the hotel is definitely in the middle of no where! If your looking for a place to experience Amsterdam this would not be it! The hotel is basically in the middle of no where but they do have a shuttle that runs every 40 minutes that takes you to the airport where you can get on the train and be down to Amsterdam in about 20 min. The first time we stayed here we had a great room, it was beautiful! The second time we stayed there the room was much less then what we were expecting! There wasn't anything wrong with it but I guess we just got out in the older part of the hotel that time!

I was impressed by the level of service from the personnel. I had forgotten my BB in the hotel , so I called in five minutes they called me back to say that they had found it.

Breakfast-wonderful! Front desk staff attitude. Stayed there >5 times. Never had staff refer to my being a regular customer. I had just arrived from a long flight and had to wait in foyer for a room. Too much luggage to safely carry 'down' to storage area myself. Staff wouldn't hold even one piece behind the counter. I was a woman travelling alone so not at all considerate as I couldn't even visit the bathroom! Staff also eager to suggest only most expensive suites available when this was not strictly true, on a previous stay with no prior booking. Good reason to book before going! Other than one male front desk staff, most times front desk staff seemed high-handed and rather unfriendly. Shame because hotel is convenient and the food is great!
After encountering one of Europe's worst heat waves, this was a pleasant surprise. The a/c was ice cold; the rooms were perfect for my family (individual beds); breakfast was more than adequate; and the hotel's restaurant had excellent dishes. I sincerely enjoyed my three day stay. I will come again.
The food in the restaurant, the wonderful and welcoming open fire and the very high standard of interior design which was very stylish. We have stayed at this hotel over 20 times both on business and pleasure and love it. Despite this however the Manager was unable to offer any form of refund when we explained our Son and his friends would not be joining us for his 18th Birthday weekend as Birmingham Airport had been closed and all flights cancelled. a little understanding would have softened the blow as we were all devastated, especially as his Grandmother, to whom he was very close had died 4 weeks earlier and we were all really looking forward to a wonderful break.This lack of flexibility is my only critisism of what is otherwise an excellent hotel.

Good price- bus to airport was very convenient and free. Good deal for price. Hotel hallways (and to some extent the room) smelled like weed and cigarettes. Budget rooms were very outdated and didn't feel very clean.

Buffet breakfast included. Evening dinner selection is limited but still ok. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Shuttle bus to airport is quick, approx 10 mins to airport Limited dinner menu. Shower water pressure not good. Shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes so check timing to make sure you make it to the airport on time. Shuttle bus pick up is separate from other hotels. Pick up at STA office near Starbucks arrival 4 section. Not a criticism but not obvious location.

The morning breakfast was good with a nice woman offering to cook fresh omelettes. The indoor pool and gym were nice. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. Good shuttle service. The staff other than the woman at breakfast were curt to the point of rudeness. The rooms were outdated and not very clean. The rugs had stains and the bathtub was dirty. The overall feel of the room was univiting. The picture was of some sort of rusting metal object. Lots of flickering fluorescent lights in the hall and in the room. Very expensive for the poor quality. My family of four all thought it was hotel in need of a significant remodel and managerial improvement. Best Western should not put their brand on this hotel until it improves.

Easy check in and easy to use shuttle to and from the airport. Nice lobby and restaurant. Room was nice, standard. Good value, I would stay here again. McDonald's restaurant a block away, but nothing else. Bathroom not 100% clean, but good enough.
It stayed there just for the night as I had an early flight from the airport the next morning. For that purpose the hotel is fine. The shower was not usable as the pipe was completely broken down so I could not fresh up in the morning. I complained at the reception, but they didn't seem to take me serious at all. This seems to happen more often in this hotel. I'll use another hotel at the airport not next occasions.
Clean Uncomfortable bed and the wifi only had a good signal in the lobby. I had a room on the 3rd floor and could not get any reception in my room which was very frustrating

beeakfast was excellent. room was spotless. walls are paper thin. rude people woke me knockking on their friends door 3 doors down at 2:30 am. it sounded like they might be knocking on my door. their noise continued for over an hour and destroyed my nights sleep.

Nice room for a good price. Free shuttle to Schiphol made it easy to get to the airport. It's location made it a bit of a process to get to downtown Amsterdam, but it wasn't too bad.

Close to airport The air conditioning would not turn on unless it was warmer than 18 C outside. This is some weird Dutch cheap money saving tactic that keeps guests warm or outright hot, and at the mercy of what it's doing outside. I paid for the room. Let me control the thermostat.

Very nice shower. Clean, trendy room. Very unique. Room was small. Room Controls for lights, heat, etc did not work well.
I love the iPad-centric room controls. Great selection of newly released movies. Comfortable bed with a great TV setup. Temperature controls don't work very well - the room gets very cold at night even though I set the temperature to 70 Fahrenheit. The toilet and shower design are fun and just fine for a single traveler. When traveling with a partner, there "tube" designs dont provide any privacy, especially for the toilet. Perhaps adding a fan or some ambient noise to drown out toilet noises could help keep the mood romantic, hahaha!
Clean comfy room, great common areas, makes you feel at home. Will definitely stay here again. 5 minute walk to the airport, no need for taxi or shuttle

Bed was very comfortable. Very avant-garde. Mood lights, TV, everything can be controlled by the in room iPad. Bar and areas downstairs provide all kinds of environments for different people and activities. Buffet was good and reasonable. Charging 3 euro to use a major credit card.
We spent a night here in transit between Brussels and Den Haag. Walking distance from Schiphol Plaza. Self check-in and check-out feature was very convenient. Room decor was modern. All room light/tv/blinds were controlled with an ipad. WiFi was great. TV had a good selection of channels (for us- we watched comedy central). We got to store our luggage for a few hours after checking out which was extremely convenient. Hotel manager was excellent. There was a leak with our shower, which actually made it unclear how the thing worked! So we wasted almost an hour in the morning. The hotel manager was EXTREMELY helpful... wish we'd asked him for assistance immediately!
A good idea for an airport hotel. Almost like a hostel. Real service even though there is simplified check in and check out. Well thought out room and superior amenities on the main floor. I recommend this for an surprised overnight. No provision for luggage.

Very clean. Free shuttle bus to airport. But next time I will pay more to stay in airport. In this case the hotels closer to the airport were all more than 200 Euro, which for me for a transit stay doesn't make sense. Typical transit hotel with transit atmosphere. They even have a cheaper option next door for 49 Euro

Quiet hotel, even though so close to airport
I like simple modern decor, however this was a bit to basic, Th staff was courteous and check-in was fast. The hotel was only 10 minutes away by free shuttle bus from the airport, and we did not need to wait longer then 5-10 minutes each way for the shuttle. We paid over $200 for a triple room, however, what we received was a "converted" double room. They removed the narrow desk at the window and the bedside table, and instead squeezed in an extra bed. The double room was already very small and basic, but with this change it was really uncomfortable. The two single beds that were pushed together to make a "double" (with an uncomfortable crack in between) was only separated by about a 15 cm gap from the single bed, not allowing to fit two legs side by side, therefore you had to shuffle in sideways to get to the bed. The only electric outlets were above this third bed, so since there were no desks or tables, the overnight charging of the ipads and phones could only happen on the bed, making it very uncomfortable to sleep next to it. In addition, the bathroom light could only be turned on with the entrance light, therefore if someone wants to go out to the bathroom, has to disturb everyone in the room with the light. A dim nightlight in the bathroom would be a welcome change. In addition, the restaurant at the 4th floor had a poor decor and mediocre food, and at 60 Euros for two main courses and a desert and water I think it is really overpriced. My lamb was likely over its teenage years, and my boys did not care for the hamburger meat either, although they usually love it.
I had allergy problems in this hotel and I could hardly breathe. There was also a mouldy mell in the air, I assume that was my problem.
Location is ok. About 10 min from airport, and short walk to bus station to go into town. Thin walls and very noisy all night. No air conditioning, was sweating all night. No mini fridge.

It was a quick place to come to from the airport the free shuttle was a plus and I took advantage of it the 2 nights I was there! The hotel was super clean except I found a condom on the ground what the bed moved a little! Also I didn't like the single beds wish they had one big bed instead
The stAff lacked professionalism. The hotel was mediocre at best. We never ate there. The shuttle service was good. They did not resupply the room each day. The amenities were barely acceptable. The overall experience was barely acceptable. There is a musty smell in the hallways. there was a big blob of hair in a towel when I finally got a fresh one

The proximity to the airport, but it took 12 minutes of taxi ride from the airport and cost us 30euros. But on the way to the airport, the hotel provided us a shuttle bus. The hotel had good internet connection.
The staff is very guest oriented knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms are clean and modern. Hotel restaurant is fine but limited menu and average quality and taste.
There was no drinking water in the room or tea or coffee making facilities in the room which is normal for all uk hotels.
Loved the service at the front desk and the rooms are excellent. Our room was smaller then the other couple we arrived with. This was due to a duct or support beam running down the side of the room. It made it hard to access the other side of the bed.
Good hotel, near the good restaurant, lake is there for fitness, free parking, good price/service rate. My kids love the big beds. No remote control of the airco unit, can be switched off only by taking card out of the main switch.

The hidden costs eg: hotel menu did not list prices including tax so you were unable to accurately estimate the bill. The large extra amount on the bill was a shock. The receptionist did not explain that the security deposit was taken first and returned much later rather than the card details held and the amount taken if appropriate at the end of the stay.

The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood of Amstersam, Hoofddorp. Nice restaurants and nice people. There is no coffeenin the breakfast. There is a maschine with instant coffee wich is far, far, far away on the real coffee taste. Every morning I went to the hotel bar and ordered a triple expresso for my breakfast, and for sure I pay for it. Probably you could consider to have a nice coffee maschine for the next tie I will be there...

We were very pleased with this hotel. It does help if you have a car (which we did) as the hotel is not close to any transportation. You would have to use the hotel shuttle back and forth to the airport to get into Amsterdam. The room was very nice and spacious. We have no complaints.
Bar and rooms have been remodeled since last stay, very clean very limited menu in the restaurant and bar closed at 11pm was told it was the quiet season (in August!) Very poor internet connection at always at this hotel.

Frankly-nothing. The room was dirty, had a smell of mildew or rot in carpet. The chair at the desk was rickety and unusable. There was no plastic bag for the ice bucket, the bathroom had two plastic cups not wrappped in plastic. The food in the lobby restaraunt was limited and i was served a clubhouse that was so dry it cut my mouth. The bartender didnt know how to make a martini. The bath tub was so small I almost fell out when steped on side by accident. The room was hot even though I turned heat down.

Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is far away from both Schiphol airport and Amsterdam tourist area. Shuttle to airport cost you about 8 euro, and taxi to airport is 22 euro. Taxi to Amsterdam tourist area is 55 euro. Train station is far away, and ticket to Amsterdam is 8 euro two-way

I am a regular visitor to the hotel and will continue to do so I was woken at 2.30 in the morning, by someone banging on a nearby bedroom door and shouting to the occupant inside, this went on for about 10 minutes. I was very supprised your night staff did not hear anything

Unfriendly & noisy hotel. There was a big overnight party during my stay..from saturday night .. until 4 a.m. of Sunday .. My friend lost som of her privite things.. one of th worst hotel I ever stayed.
I got a new room quicly when I complained about the smell in the first room.The staff in the kitchen stayed 30 min extra. The smell in the room.It was hard to find, lack of signs.No possibillity to get any kind of food/breakfast when you have to leave early.
The hotel is located close to the city center and an easy walk to the main shopping district. I was on a layover between the US and Denmark and the train and bus from the airport to the hotel were fairly easy to navigate even for an American who can't speak Dutch. The hotel is lovely from the outside and the restaurant on the ground floor is modern, welcoming and attractive. The room was extremely small - small bits of paper packaging from former guests remained on the floor under the desk suggesting that the room hadn't been cleaned very carefully. The in-room safe was broken. The bed was old and sagging, furniture was old and worn, TV was functional but old, no overhead lightbulb in the bathroom - no small bottles of shampoo, lotion, etc. just a liquid soap dispenser on the wall across from the shower and sink, so one must be careful not to drip soap on the floor when washing hands in the sink or taking a shower. In light of airline restrictions against carry-on liquids and gels, having adequate quality toiletries is important, especially for a "4 star" hotel. The hotel doesn't offer a secure place to leave luggage post check-out. They offered to let me leave my suitcase in a corner of the lobby by the front desk.

Something happened in this hotel, may be basements were flooded. There is disastrous smell of moldy stuff everywhere in rooms that they're trying to kill with no less heavy scent of deodorant.

There is nothing special about this hotel, it´s one of those faceless places to stay. Stuff! At the front dest, 3 out of 4 receptionist seemed my arrival bothered them, because they had to stand up and do their job. They didnt have my reservation in their system, luckily free room was available. Without a word one made reservation and asked for my card. I didnt get usual: checkout time, parking fee, room service, breakfast served from till,...etc. Lack of communication skills described it pretty enought. Shortly after check in, I found out, I was charged extra 70 euros on top of what I was supposed to pay for no reason, at least I was not explained till this day.
Room was clean Service was poor. They would not take a new guest in until exactly 2 pm when they had limited rooms clean even then due likely to slow or poor cleaning service staff. When checking out, the front desk assigned one person to all check outs (who was a good employee) though others on the front desk appeared to be doing nothing or certainly nothing as important than serving guests.
Neat Room, Toiletteries, Comfortable, Airport shuttle facility Staff could be more polite and helpful, Basic amenities like TV and internet should be part of the room rent and not charged extra.

I booked 7 rooms this week and from all persons I learned that this hotel is very noisy, two guests did change rooms, one of them was on top floor and he wrote me that this was a good room. Most of the guests will not return to this hotel.

I liked how clean and new it was. Could not get it warm enough in the room. It seems that the temperature gage only goes to a certain point. Being a new facility you probably still have some bugs to work out. I was called by misstake at 10PM and it woke me up. I had ordered a wake up call at 6:30AM but newer got a call.

Rooms a little small for the price, compared to other rooms I have used (worldwide). However, easy access to the airport, for me as in transit over the night, brought some value to the price. Also, several of the TV channels were not operative. Too bad for a hotel in thic class.
Walking distance to Schiphol airport For lack of time, I decided to choose a Sheraton. Exceptionally so, because I've had quite bad experiences with that chain. This hotel, however, was OK as far as I can tell.

We was staying in the family room, it coat a lot, but you get comfort. It was two rooms inside one, we have separate toilet and bath. We didn't take breakfast because we didn't have time, but it is really expensive. We use sauna it was nice after long trip.

The beds were comfortable. We really appreciated the shuttle. Wireless free internet was very much appreciated. Staff was very helpful. We found it challenging to take our luggage through so many doors. Could some of the exit doors be used for this?

Airport shuttle service was at its worst. On the day we reached, I had to wait for about 1 hour to get the shuttle ( it was told in the site that they have shuttle service every 30 mins). Then again another day, in a morning, when I wanted to go to airport, I couldn't go on time since the shuttle was full. ( they were operating just a 8 seater van, where as other hotels were having exclusive buses and big vans ) - Shuttle service was bad. - Receptionists were not very helpful and caring - Extra price charged while checkout

It was very quiet Very confinient too have a little bus for transportation to the airport and access to the train . The busdriver very helpful and very courteous. No washcloths! The shower drape was too small.

The shuttle service when it was on schedule and could transport everyone desiring a ride to/from hotel to airport terminals and the few staff that were on duty ...usually weekdays Spotty shuttle service on Weekends due to mismanaging the requirement to transport many guests. I waited 90 minutes for the shuttle that transports folks every 30 minutes and after the third missed shuttle because there were more folks than seats, I spent 30$ on a taxi to "shuttle" me a few miles to the airport hotel....all this after calling them and they said they'd provide a ride - never happened so that's how I waited 90 minutes versus half that time before taking a taxi ....seemed understaffed

I left my purse in the restaurant during breakfast. My husband ran back to get it 2 hours later, the waiter remembered him and had my purse safe and sound with everything in it. He was very nice!!!
room size too long to get to central amsterdam. always shuttle and then train from airport to central. need train near hotel. also shuttle shuts off after 12 so I had to pay cab fare twice. also breakfast is super expensive.

-Nice hotel with a clean room, comfortable bed, and well-appointed bathroom. -The breakfast spread(not always included in the price, I understood) was very good. -The shuttle service is convenient (if you can find seat in one TO the hotel, that is; no problems FROM the hotel to airport). This is important because there is nothing, literally nothing, near the hotel and it is about 15 minutes ride to/from the airport. The restaurant was good but has practically no options for a vegetarian meal (surprising since vegetarian choices appear to be becoming quite common at most good Dutch restaurants). The front-desk staff was generally polite and responsive. -They share the shuttle service with another hotel AND a few parking lots. As a result, there is always a large crowd waiting at the airport. The problem was further exacerbated by one of the shuttles being a small van. -The driver of the shuttle (the large one) on the day of my arrival was extremely rude--he shut the door in the face of a young lady who was trying to enquire about when the shuttle was supposed to leave the hotel It didn't and took the Etihad crew to the airport instead). I felt bad enough about it that I went back into the hotel and reported this to the front desk (the Manager was "not available" to speak with me); have no idea what, if any action was taken against the driver. -The next morning, the hot water heater was not working, making it impossible for the guests, many of whom had to catch morning flights, to take showers.
The staff are extremely courteous and professional. The free shuttle service to and from the airport is a very useful and efficient service. A very quite and scenic location and Amsterdam Central is relatively a short train ride. A minor criticism is that the TV is not flat screen.

Rooms were large and king sized beds were comfortable. I particularly liked the exclusive brand of toiletries provided, especially the body lotion. It was heavenly. The location meant that there was literally nothing nearby. But if you take the bus to the airport, then there were more options.
Roomy and relaxed I was unable to get any food whatsoever fate arriving back at 11.15pm one evening. The hotel must be ablt to cater for residents at least up to 12 midnight

The greeting at the front desk -reception was extremely professional and very helpful with local details such as restaurant information in the local area etc.... the room was very sufficient ,clean and provided all needs. We chose breakfast in the room which was just fantastic.
The hotel is in a great location and overall a nice hotel - this was our 3rd stay. The room was okay - a little expensive for what we got. Also, on my reservation form it said there was a hair dryer in the room (so I did not bring mine) and there was not. No extra pillows or blankets for the chilly night. It boasted a great balcony w/view and all we saw was construction back there. Could not find a remote control for the television, had to keep getting up to change channel/volume.
The kindness and concern of the reception staff. We needed a late check-out due to difficult circumstances and it was given with no problem or extra charge.
The staff were always delightful and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly especially at the front desk. I like a kettle and the ability to make tea in my room but I appreciate. This is not a European custom!
We had a comfort plus room with a breakfast. Room was fab, super comfortable, fresh, clean and the bed was divine. Breakfast was a banquet with a huge choice if foods Inc muffins, many breads, various egg dishes and meats. Yummie
It was a place to sleep... It wasn't clean, the grounds were horrible (weeds, tall grass), it wasn't in a very good area.
Location easy to find, vast parking, vast room, WiFi, good restaurant, bus connection to Haarlem downtown (10 mn). Room a little noisy (corridor), distance hotel entrance to room.
The Location The room had not been cleaned and was very very dusty and the carpets had not been hoovered

The hotel was very clean and the room was amazing, worth the money! The staff is very rude and unprofessional. It is so bad that despite the hotel being clean and well kept it isn't worth the stay.
The service and attitude of all personal from desk to dining room was very friendly and accomidating
The shuttle service from the airport was free and efficient. Staff were friendlly and responsive. Room was clean and comfortable without any excessive noise. There was a nice restaurant and bar. Only that our room originally didn't have a door to the bathroom, they did change us to a room with a door after we asked. At first we thought maybe this was normal in Amsterdam but it seemed a bit primitive to have no way of containing the various sights and smells. it was rather strange to be given this type of facility without any warning.
Very convient for getting to the airport, regular shuttle ran between the hotel and airport all day long. Room very modern, spacious and quite after staying in the old part of Amsterdam for a week. Nice restaurant, had a good dinner but breakfast was a 15E buffet, no other choice, expensive but good.
Front desk staff very helpful. Extended my stay twice and never a problem to keep the same room. A short walk into the town adjacent. Rooms were in good shape. It was very convenient as I was taking some courses at Schipol. Shuttle service. The bus was packed when it finally arrived after I waited 52 minutes at the airport. There was a crowd awaiting to get on. I did manage to get on but not everyone who wanted to was able, This shuttle serves the Ibis budget, the Ibis and the Dorint hotels So you get 1 and 2 star shuttle service to a 4 star hotel. The bus did go directly to the Dorint, but I was the only one to get off there. A 4 star hotel needs to offer 4 star service throughout all its services.
The hotel is an excellent value for the price. The room my wife and I had was clean and quiet. We thought the restaurant was overpriced but the location is within walking distance of a wonderful small town where the people were very friendly and an Italian restaurant and grocery store very close. The bus to the airport was on time but sometimes crowded. Overall we would stay there anytime we are at Amsterdam airport.
I stayed at the Dorint hotel on the 21 of this month(may 2015) anf it has been by far the worst experience i have ever had! I have stayed there before and i had no complains overall, but this time, there was a person in the recception that treated me really badly with no reason, i was staring at him thinking how come this person works here? I wrote down his name(Victor Brokke) and i wanted to talk with the manager but i had no time because i had an early flight and i was kind of late, too diferent than the morning recepcionist that was so nice and professional, when she asked me how was my experience i told hee about the missunderstanding that happent that night and she said she would take care of it. Really, they lost a customer, i travel to the netherlands at least 3 time a year and i love staying in hotels close to Schiphol because of the facilities such as close to amsterdam and also shuttles to the airport. What they dont realized i think is there is over 50 hotels in that area, and the Dorint isnt going to be one that me, relatives or friends are going to stay in.
Booked room for $75 after missing flight. Shuttle was provided at the airport. Was very clean and nice for the price. Staff was friendly except for shuttle driver. Nice looking pool, sauna and steam room. Restaurant staff was nice. Shuttle driver was rude on the way to the hotel. Restaurant was expensive $15 for hamburger. Had to wait till exactly 2 pm to check in they wouldn't check us in 10 minutes early.
