Horse Cave Hotels

Pros: We stayed in the rose room which (private entry) which was very nice. No one works there at night, so we used the living room at night. It was quiet and comfy. Car broke down and we moved to the greer room. This room has a sofa and minifridge. Very nice

Cons: Mattress in the rose room needs to be replaced. Bottom sheets in both rooms became untucked with both beds. Other than that it was great! I would definatly stay again. We didn't have a car on the last day we were offered a ride to the store. Very nice!!

Pros: Old country in with fantastic antique charm. Staff was very friendly, Gary did a great job with beakfast and keeping the place ready to receive guests very comfortably.

Cons: The room needed one more chair. Although comfortable, the antique victorian couch just wasn't quite enough.

Pros: Friendliness of the proprietor without being overly obtrusive.

Cons: Closing upstairs door to stairs with luggage in hands. Television in room could be better located for viewing.

Pros: I liked everything about Main Street B&B. Spacious clean rooms, beautifully appointed, good breakfast, friendly owners.

Pros: The house and rooms were very nicely decorated. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom had nice modern fixtures. Gary was very friendly and the breakfast was good.

Pros: It's close to town, with food and shopping, and close to Mammoth Cave National Park. The individual cabins give you privacy and peace and quiet. Ralph is very personable and accommodating. While the room is quite small, everything was very clean and in good repair. Great value!

Cons: The room was very small. It is a sleeping room, not a resort suite. It would not do for very large or tall people. The bathroom is pretty cramped. If economy is more important than luxury, this place will suite you. It's not really that I didn't like the room. I want others to be aware and make decisions accordingly. Don't expect spacious. It isn't. Only you can decide if that is a bad thing.

Pros: Staff was very friendly. Bed and pillows were very nice and down alternative comforters on bed. Breakfast was very good. Sausage patties, eggs, waffles, yogurt, pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs and biscuits and gravy each day. We ate a big breakfast there and weren't hungry until 4 or 5 in the afternoon then we went to supper. So we ended up only having to buy 1 meal a day. This hotel is a steal for the price.

Cons: Pool was a bit small but our kids liked it because they made lots of friends to play with because of the small proximity.

Cons: The motel was OK. The issue was that the hotel was listed as being in Park City KY but was in fact in Glasgow KY. We had to drive 22 miles out of our way to get there. Very aggravating.

Pros: Front desk staff was awesome. It was a discrete stay and the staff assured us that it we be that way. What else can you ask for. Top of the line rating!

Pros: For $79 a night it was a great place to stay. Ask for a view of the back side of the building. You can see the rolling hills of KY. It was quiet and clean. Staff was friendly. I was glad I booked their instead of the hotels in Cave City with no view.

Cons: Needs some remodeling

Pros: I'll give credit where it's due: the room was clean and the hotel was close to Mammoth Cave National Park. That's about all I can say I liked.

Cons: This hotel hasn't seen a decorator (much less a remodel) since the 1970s. My room did have a color TV, although it was the old school square box, and A/C, although it was a window unit from Best Buy. There was literally one employee running the hotel's front desk, the on-property gun range, the winery, and waitressing the restaurant. Not one employee each of those places, just one employee. Speaking of the restaurant, the food was passable at best but the view was top notch.

Pros: Friendly staff. Okay view only at the dining area. Clean rooms. Comfy bed.

Cons: Not a terrible place, just extremely understaffed and much needed renovations. It took three hours for anyone to get their dinner, many guests actually left before their dinner arrived and our dinner consisted of two burgers with french fries. The rooms are very clean however...1) All the walls are concrete with no sound barriers. We could hear everything, even the maintenance crew at 2am in the morning having a conversation in the hallway. 2) The doors have no weather stripping so when guests leave their rooms, the doors slam on the concrete and are very loud. This could be a simple fix. It kept my husband up all night with people coming in and out of their rooms. 3) Since the doors have no weather stripping, there was light from the hallway around the entire door, with about an inch visible gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Not a huge deal but just needs some work. 4) The thermostat had two settings: hot and hot. AC did not work. We didn't call anyone since we were only staying the one night. We slept with just the sheet. 5) Blinds were ragged and there were no draperies. I felt very exposed at night because there were huge gaps where people could see into the room. We were on the first floor with part of the resort just outside our window. Again, this could be an easy fix. Overall, this was not worth the $110 we spent for one night at a "resort." Not sure how all the reviews gave this place 4 stars... Maybe with some tender love and care, this place could be a great getaway.

Pros: The staff was great. Everyone was polite and very helpful. Very close to the national park. Good wine. Food was decent. The new owners have put a lot of work in to improving the resort. Very reasonably priced.

Cons: The room smelled and the beds were uncomfortable. Everything was kind of outdated.

Pros: Beautiful country setting. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was huge. Very quiet.

Cons: No food service. Drove 6 miles to get to Mexican restaurant in Cave City (El Mazatlan). It was excellent, service great, food great.

Pros: Great location and beautiful views.

Cons: The place looks like it's seen better days. Quaint and homie feel. Could use a major renovation. The staff was nice but they served no breakfast claiming there was no power in the kitchen. They said they couldn't even make coffee and no coffee in the room. A little over priced for what you get. It's a shame they haven't kept it in better condition. I'd probably stay in Cave City in the future.

Pros: Employees are the best thing going for this place.

Cons: The hotel is a diamond in the rough. The owners are working on it.

Cons: We didn't like seeing the place run down. No pool or sauna restaurant wasn't open. We were there 30 thirty years ago and it's really run down sad to see. Nothing for the family to do.

Pros: The only real plus side was hot breakfast and the fact that they had nice pillows.

Cons: The first night there we found spiders and bugs in the room. The chair in the room was all stained and needed to clean along with the flooring in the room. The bed was awful and very uncomfortable. the overall aroma of the room was very musty and was very hard to tolerate. The pool was indoors and in the shade making the pool water very cold. It was 95° outside and The pool was practically unusable.

Pros: Staff were very friendly and efficient. Room was huge. It was generally clean.

Cons: Dropping a "No Smoking" card on the desk does not change a smoking room into a non-smoking room. Hotel did not tell me that they could not honor my non-smoking room request. I am allergic to tobacco, so this could have been a bigger problem. Shower curtain smelled of mildew. Air conditioner was too small to cool the entire room, meaning that one side of the bed was freezing while the other was sweltering. There was only one nightstand. Furniture appeared worn and moisture damaged. Safe was inoperable.
