Pros: The french female host is super-friendly :-) All questions was answered wih a smile. The accomodation is close to the sea. It is possible to rent a WiFi-router for a little amount of money. The beds had mosquito-nets. We could use a common kitchen for making food. They serve breakfast on the terrace for 10.000 Ariary pp. I could highly recommend this place.
Cons: The temperature in the shower was unstable and the pressure was limited. There was no refrigerator in the room.
Pros: unique atmosphere that the hosts give during their stay
Pros: Super value for money, really nice and clean accommodation right on the beach. Although there is no bar or restaurant there is loads to choose from just meters away on the beach and even a private kitchen should you wish to cook yourself. The owners were very kind and helpful throughout, we fully recommend!
Pros: We were pleased to find this cute accomodation rooms amidst blossoming beauty of succulent trees in this arid part of country. Whole set of rooms is well conceived in this condo-like set of buildings. Our Family Room was spacious, all relevant accesories equipped place, its door opening to cosy all-purpose dinner table corner placed on outside terrace. Sun cover and intimacy are well guarded by wonderful pergolas next to each of couple of rooms. Very pleasant french-type of breakfast with interesting local made jams a honey. Trips and other amusements from here are to be easily organised, just ask your wonderful and caring hosts. Enjoy their beautiful garden, too. Great place to get acquainted with local malagasy people, since they live just couple of steps away. Location is safe, guarded at night. Lots of various restaurants nearby down the beach. Climate is extraordinarily pleasant here. Definitely reccomended for your next stay at Ifaty Beach.
Cons: Beds were a bit hard for my back in particular, but it's s not everybody's choice..
Pros: Very nice nad quite accomodation on the Ifaty beach. The stuff is perfect, breakfast are served to your terrace. Every day cleaning, the room is very large and the bathroom very nice.
Cons: The accomodation was perfect but the Ifaty beach is not the best beach on the Mada....
Pros: Nice garden, right on the beach, safe place.
Pros: This small family-run beach resort is a hidden gem along the Ifaty coastline. The rooms are very nicely decorated, comfortable and spacious with a shaded outdoor seating area with table, chairs and bench. The owners, a French couple, are extremely courteous and welcoming. They will help you organise small trips, give you advice on restaurants, dive centres etc. You can also order fresh bread from them. We did not use the kitchen as eating out is so affordable, but it has all amenities you need.
Cons: Our only regret is that we couldn't stay another few days in this resort.
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Hosts are very welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable.

Arboretum d'Antsokay is 13 km from Hôtel Serena, while Playa de la Batterie (Beach) is 5 km from the property.
Pros: All good and clean, polite staff and quiet hotel. Perfect for one night stay to catch the boat to Anakao the next day, or the plane.
Cons: The breakfast was good but also very minimal. It was the only hotel we stayed in during our trip that didn’t have a room for our driver/guide (all the others had a room for them), it wasn’t a big deal to our driver though!
Pros: Nice location in Toliara city center Great breakfast
Cons: Bad WiFi connection
Pros: Good location in center, clean rooms, good shower.
Cons: Noisy in morning (if room is close to frontdesk); lots of stairs at entrance.
Pros: location was central. breakfast basic but adequate.
Pros: Central location, fully equipped large rooms, helpful stuff. The breakfast was good (though not outstanding). I didn't miss anything.
Cons: There is no on-site restaurant, though there are various good restaurants in the neighborhood (most of them closed on Sundays, however).
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel Serena is a very nice and clean place. My bed was very comfortable and there was always hot water available. Wi-fi was high speed and the breakfast was very good. Coffee was great, definitely the best espresso that I had in Toliara!
Cons: I couldn't pay with my credit card, only cash. But from what I saw this is happening everywhere in the area. ATM were easily available in town anyway. So no big deal at the end.

Pros: Hotel is placed in a beautiful garden with an arboretum. Bungalows are well and tastefully equipped, divided by garden from each other, so you feel like alone in a forest.
Cons: Rooms are a bit tight - it was fine for one night but if we have stayed longer, we would feel quite limited. Shower is now divided from the rest of the bathroom so you flood everything around.
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff especially in the restaurant! Good food in the restaurant but limited offer only. Our bungalow was just beside the arboretum and our neighbours were the tortoises in their compound (mostly sleeping in the season we visited Toliara). Electricity and hot water 24 hours a day (which is not self evident in this part of Madagascar!) Fast WiFi!
Pros: Funky property right beside botanical gardens. Bungalows scattered throughout the grounds so felt very private. Woke to birdsongs in the morning and could wander in the botanical garden then or any time free of charge. Do have a guided tour. Our guide, Jean To (sorry if I spelt it wrong) was so knowledge about the plants/birds/animals and pointing out things of interest. Highly recommend both day tour and night tour. Dinner exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed the food, service, subdued lighting and relaxing background music. Loved the goat cheese! There was a lovely looking pool but we didn’t have time to use it. We had been relaxing on beaches before our stay here. Glad we booked one night so we could enjoy the botanical gardens and wildlife and then only had a ten minute ride to the airport in the morning.
Cons: There were mozzies at night but there was a good mozzie net that fit the bed and mozzie coils.
Pros: Beautifully designed bungalow and friendly staff with good quality food
Pros: The whole place was beautiful. Well worth exploring the arboretum and we spent a lovely morning lying round the pool. The food in the restaurant was delicious and our bungalow was both beautifully furnished and comfortable. Helpful staff and decent wifi. It is 15 minutes into town or the airport and very peaceful and relaxed!
Cons: My only complaint was that the restaurant menu was quite small and at dinner on our first night they had sold out of fish and zebu which only left chicken or pasta (although everything was available again by lunchtime the next day)
Pros: The hotel is part of the arboretum and is very well mantained. The interiors of the common area and the rooms are beautiful and modern. The swimming pool area is great Good food, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The wifi is quite slow and the showers are bad. Really hard to achieve a temperature without boiling/freezing to death, sometimes the pressure is very low. Food is a bit expensive compared to similar places.
Pros: Great place all around. Private bungalow was lovely. We had 2 rooms with fans in both rooms. Toliara is really Hot, so the fans were most welcome. Restaurant was also beautiful, with lots of "artsy" touches. Good breakfast too, included juice and eggs, which is unusual. Small pool. Walk through the thorn forest onsite was a plus. Highly recommended.

Pros: Clean comportable and modern hotl
Cons: A 10-15 minute walk from the beach and the lights in the room were quite dim
Pros: Bungalows, clean and spacious The friendly staff
Cons: No hot water most of the time
Pros: The swimming pool is awesome and enjoying next to the beautiful national park
Cons: There is only a van so it can get very hot in the bungalows
Cons: It was a pleasant atmosphere, natural environment and very peaceful. Value for money.
Pros: The bungalows are spacy and comfortable. The pool is cleaned daily and the personal is very kindly. The garden between the bungalows was maintained very well. With a booking you support a local school where children are trained to take care of the nature.
Cons: The hotel is a 15 min walk away from the beach. For dinner there was only 2 different meals available. The selection of drinks was very limited. Payment was possible only by cash.

Pros: An oasis of silence
Pros: Excellent staff and great food. Beautiful grounds with two roaming lemurs. One of my favorite small hotels.
Pros: Nice garden, pool area
Cons: Can’t really swim in the ocean which was a disappointment
Pros: The outdoor pool area was exceptionally nice, the room was quiet and comfortable with good wifi. The food was good, though expensive (in keeping with the hotels elevated prices).
Cons: First and final impressions of the hotel were quite negative. I had to wait to check in (I had breakfast while waiting for reception to be open in spite of being offered 07h00 check in time). The poolside toilet had water everywhere from an overflowing cistern tank and there was no toilet paper available. When leaving, I had to wait almost one hour (in spite of having a plane to catch) because again no-one was manning reception - ‘fortunately’ my plane was delayed... The orange towels in the bathrooms colour but pretty useless as towels...
Pros: Air conditioning in rhe room
Cons: We left our luggage and a small basket and the basket easnt found when we came back. The hotel is expensive, the most expensive in all our trip in madagascar comparing price to location and room
Pros: European standard not common in Mada. Understanding of customer expectations. Forthcoming approach to guests. Great pool, tasty food and nice ambiance. Highly recommendable.
Pros: Location was good and the room was spacious
Cons: Rooms are a little out-dated. Price is high in comparisson with the quality
Pros: Staff was very nice and helpful, especially the manager Anita. The pool and the garden create great chill-out spot if you have day or two in Toliara. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to Anakao express boarding point.
Cons: Lemurs in the cage. This is a sad look especially after you see many of them living wild and free in national parks. Don't expect nice beach for swimming.
When you stay at Ankasy Lodge in Ambolomailaka, you'll be on the beach and 8 minutes by car from Ifaty Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The place where the hotel is located.
Cons: Bad quality-price relation. It's overpriced. The price of the food is too expensive as it is of poor quality and little options to choice. The woman comes to your bungalow when you might not want to be disturbed to tell you the menu (as you have to ask for a second option of the dishes every time). Not many things to do there, the hotel doesn't offer almost any activity apart from snorkeling (not scuba diving, we had to move to other hotels to do it). The idea of the hotel is great and the bungalows must have been nice at the beginning but when you pay 100eur/night you expect everything to be perfect and it's not a possibility that the there are missing lights or the mosquito nets in the windows are broken. Finally, we had problems at the time of leaving the hotel as they were asking us to pay the full reservation when we had already payed half of it by bank transfer (when you do the reservation you'll recieve an e-mail asking the 50% of the amount by paypal or by bank account). In the end we solved it but it was not easy...
Pros: - Amazing location far way from touristy areas. It's totally worth the 2/3 h journey on sand track. You'll be in a tropical paradise, undisturbed and with immaculate nature. - spacious, clean and new bungalows. Each has a private sandy area in the front before getting to the beach. They are basically on the sand dunes just before the beach, you can see the sea from the living room and hear the sound of the sea. - deserted beaches.
Cons: -No choice on food served at dinner and portions could be bigger. Given there is no other restaurant / hotel nearby I was expecting better food quality and especially delicious fish. - They played loud music at the restaurant over dinner, but finally turned it down after asking a few times. The waitress seemed not to care too much about us.
Pros: Very silent and beautiful place! Friendly junior staff! But that's all!
Cons: No hot water! No WiFi! Air Madagascar cancelled my flight and I came one day later but they charged the full amount even considering that only 5 of 9 bungalows were booked for that moment. They also charge the full price for lunches and dinners even in case if you take only 1 dish of 3! Be careful: transfer is 110 eur each way! So totally for the route Toliara - Ankasy Lodge - Toliara you will have to pay 220 eur!

Pros: Real nice staff on reception helped us buy clothes on sunday, since our bags did not arrive. Brand new hotel in center of town. We had a nice burger in the restaurant and also breakfast was nice.
Cons: Noisy hotel inside and outside. Bad value for money
Pros: Very nice hotel for the zone Helped as book a driver
Cons: Little English
Pros: Decent sized rooms.
Cons: Smell of pesticides
Pros: Friendly Staff, very helpful, clean, attractive decor.
Pros: Nice and clean property
Cons: Hard to sleep as the breakfast room is very noisy

Free WiFi access is available. The rooms all come with a terrace and a desk. They also include a bathroom with a shower. All rooms are serviced daily. Villa Maroloko is located a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Ifaty, and 30 minutes' drive from Toliara. Toliara Airport can be reached within a 50-minute drive.
Pros: The restaurant was great with many food options. The people were really nice allowing us to charge our electronics and lending us an adapter.
Cons: We stayed in room 2 and our mattress was really uncomfortable, the lightbulb never really shut off when we turned off the light. So, our nights were not the best. We never mentioned anything about the lights, mayne they would have changed it.
Pros: Very friendly staff made us feel welcome from arrival. Hamar, Helliot, Josh and Jiles are super polite and helpful at all times. Villa Maroloko is a very special place overlooking a beautiful beach. Accommodation had all we needed in a very nice bungalow with a view of the ocean. Restaurant is very pleasant with good WiFi and comfy places to chill. Sad to leave after 4 nights' stay. Highly recommended.
Pros: The hotel was directly facing the beach and therefore very nice. The common areas were very nice and with a lot of possibilities. The room were good enough. The food was good and the price we paid was fair.
Cons: The bathrooms need renovation and the fact that they have solar panels was not a good-enough excuse for the lack of hot water. The restaurant service was extremely slow, too slow. Our driver reported that he was not properly welcomed by the staff and he moved out of the premises. It did not touch us directly, however it was part of our experience.
Pros: Definitely on the beach. I can also see the beach from my room.
Cons: Toilet seat and I could hear snoring from the next room.
Pros: Villa Maroloko is a fantastic place on Earth
Pros: Staff was great and helpful. The restaurant area was excellent. Decent wifi in the restaurant area.
Cons: I'm solo but the only room left was the family room so they put me there for the night. No one cleaned the beds. Old towels left in room. No electricity outlets in the room. Noisy party area adjacent every night.
Pros: The location in the middle of the beach and we'll connected to the village -The malagasy staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hot water was not available, even we paid for it. -It was not possible to pay by card, even in the profile says it is. -The manager was not helping and very unprofessional
Pros: Great location. Large bar/restaurant with a laid back atmosphere and plenty of food choices. Breakfast in particular had several options which were good value. Recommend the hot chocolate! Hotel manager helped organise a transfer to the airport. In general staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: They may have been very well hidden but we couldn't find any plug sockets in our room! We had one towel which had holes in it.
Pros: Really helpful staff walked me to village hospital for treatment when needed. Reception also reserved another room for us for the next couple of nights as I recovered.
When you stay at Princesse du Lagon in Ifaty, you'll be 13 minutes by foot from Ifaty Beach. Featured amenities include limo/town car service, a computer station, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful view as the hotel is on the beach. Sunset view which was perfect
Cons: Shower was cold even after waiting 10 minutes.
Pros: This place is tastefully decorated and the staff were friendly. Appreciated the bar tender's zeal for Malagasy rap. Really lovely beach lounging areas.Easy to pay for everything with credit card, which was nice given the lack of ATMs in town. Restaurant food was fresh and well-prepared.
Cons: A few more vegetarian options in the restaurant would have kept us from straying to nearby venues.
Pros: Comfortable beds and in the heart of the small beach strip (though that can be either a good or a bad thing). Loved the swinging sun beds over the ocean at high tide. The 'standard' rooms, which are on the second floor are certainly more recommended than the Deluxe rooms. They are more cosy and have more character and private balconies, whereas 'deluxe' only gets you the same amenities in a slightly larger space, with higher ceilings, but not in a good way...these rooms are more like concrete boxes and lack the charm and privacy of the lower cost standard rooms. The restaurant food was good, but had very limited options, which meant we usually ate elsewhere.
Cons: The deluxe rooms were a real disappointment. Definitely go for the standard rooms which are nicer and offer far more value for less money. The pool was also very uninviting - a deep algae green colour. I admittedly didn't spend any time in it, but that's not for a lack of wanting, it was just totally unappealing. The place was nearly empty when we were there - leading to it lacking atmosphere. Might be better at a busier time. Also the little extras (videos, books, games) were broken, musty and mouldy or incomplete. The food at the restaurant was good, but very limited menu options meant we usually ate elsewhere.
Pros: The overall look, decoration and location were very good. The small swimming pool and the soft sun beds beside were definitely a plus. Also the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. We recommend the “cigales de mer”
Cons: The hot water flow was a bit unstable. Wifi not perfect, but acceptable considering the average of this part of Madagascar
Pros: The food and the personal hospitality.
Cons: The photo’s look bit better than reality.
Pros: Staff were friendly
Cons: Half the time you didn’t get what you asked for. Bed not comfortable. When you pay by credit card 5% extra on the total amount is added!
Pros: Great location and beautiful views. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner - the food was very tasty and satisfying. The reception staff and restaurant staff were very nice.
Cons: The rooms and the gym are not well maintained at all.chose to The water in the pool was neither clear nor clean We asked one employee who was on receipt (I think it was a manager) a question. Before that we only told her if she had the opportunity to help us. Apparently for the employee the request was excessive and she did not respond well at all and be angry.
Pros: Wonderful location, right on the beach and still near to the central area of the village. Very friendly and competent staff. Nice sitting areas with sea view in front of the rooms. Good eating options at the the beachside restaurant; there are also various other restaurants nearby (on the beach and in the village), leaving ample choice. If I return, I'll certainly stay here again.
Cons: Considering everything you DON'T get (no aircon, no fridge, no flexible shower head, no door between bathroom and bedroom), the hotel feels a bit pricey. The wifi was extremely poor. The electricity was sometimes turned off for an hour or longer during daytime. But I guess in a village without mains electricity you cannot expect too much...
Pros: Location, facilities and staff Food was good too! Great massages onsite
Cons: Waiting time for lunch (over 1h after ordering) but “mora mora”... food was good!
Pros: The room is big and well equiped. The hotel is very beautiful.
Cons: The swimming pool was opened but really dirty, so it was impossible to use it... I don´t know why nobody cleaned it.
You'll be centrally located in Ifaty with a stay at Ifaty Beach Club, and 1 minutes by foot from Ifaty Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Only all around except that place ! Very not friendly place
Cons: not friendly boss! And atmosphere! Money money money mad !!!! Avoid
Pros: Great location, right on the beach. Bungalows are simple but clean and comfortable.
Pros: Very clean and great food. Highly recommended!!
Pros: Very nice hotel with the beach sutable for swimming, swimming pool, nice stylish decoration, nice rooms and good food in the restaraunt. The staff of the hotel was very helpful. Recommended!
Cons: The water in the swimming pool was a bit cold.
Pros: The pool is nice and the food is ok. Some of the staff are very nice.
Cons: DON'T GO TO THIS HOTEL: there are not water front bungalows: they literally DON'T EXIST. When you book for one of this rooms they make you pay for half pension (an expensive one, by the way) if you want to be close to the pool (that doesn't mean "water front"). If you don't pay for that, they put you in other bungalows close to the entrance of the hotel where you don't see the sea/beach/pool. Check my photos to see where is was our "water front" bungalow. They charge you 5% fee for using your credit card (not mentioned in booking). The person in charge of the check in was rude and unhelpful and you feel swindled. The list of things that it says that you can find in the bungalow is not true: no refrigerator, not free toiletries, not water front... There are plenty of options in Ifaty/Manguily to choose, don't choose this one if you don't want to feel as they are ripping you off.
Situated in Ifaty, 8 km from Reserve Reniala, Jardin de Beravy features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. This pet-friendly inn also has free WiFi. At the inn, all rooms are equipped with a balcony with a lake view. At Jardin de Beravy rooms come with a wardrobe and a private bathroom. The accommodation offers a continental or à la carte breakfast. Jardin de Beravy offers a terrace.
Pros: The staff were extremely polite, happy and helpful. The food was good despite a limited menu.
Cons: There was no electricity after 8pm and the WiFi though a good signal was on demand. We were suffocatingly hot at night without a fan as there was no electricity. Hardly the fault of the proprietor but the sea is shallow and hot!
Pros: It was beside the beach but no facilities at all that goes with a beach hotel
Cons: If you want a hotel that gives you a nice welcome this is not the hotel for you. The owners presented as if we, their clients were an inconvenience and a few ( not all) of the staff followed their example. If you want a beach hotel with an expectation that you have a nice seat or lounger on the beach this is not the hotel for you - it is on a beach to which you have access but that’s the end of it - it gives a nice view - that’s it. If you want a hotel with a nice breakfast this is not the place for you - we voted it the worst breakfast we had had had in Madagascar. We thought the bread was stale nearly every day. If you want a hotel that actually serves what it has on the menu and/or serves nice food then this is not the hotel for you - we gave up after a couple of nights - there was the odd nice meal but generally below average. I don’t generally leave negative reviews but this hotel was so disappointing - we were really looking forward to it. If only the management had led from the front - and tried at least to pretend to be pleasant - we were so fed up of almost begging for the WiFi to be turned on - without being given an explanation as to what the difficulty was. I would change a lot about this hotel but mainly about the lack of good management. The rooms were nice and clean.
Pros: The position right by sea. Alain was very friendly and efficient. Peaceful.
Cons: Wi fi did not exist at all. Should be noted that there is only electricity for a few hours a day. Food not great except calamari.
Pros: Very good staying... Excellent location... Quiet and close to everything... Excellent services... Very polite and friendly and helping staff... High level of services with very good price... Very good place to explore all the surroundings
