8.8 Excellent
Cons: The instant coffee. One of our group has mobility issues and we had to check out early because of the many different levels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed only one night in Posada but we liked it a lot. Big room, comfy bed, decorations and so clean. Also cute small garden with swimming pool. For this price it's best option in Izamal.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is great, place is super clean, no complaints!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The grounds and pool are lovely.
Cons: There was some problem getting hot water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, pool, STAFF!!!, room was spacious, as was bathroom, super clean, map of town was very helpful
Cons: Should have a lip/ledge for the shower and/or shower curtain. A communal fridge would be great if not one in each room and free water would have been nice after the first day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quaint hotel in Izamal. Large clean rooms. Great pool and lovely grounds. Excellent value for our family.
Cons: It is a bit further from the square but still very walkable.
8.3 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, the room was spacious and nice. I would recommend for a stay in Izamal. It is also pretty close to everything but also quiet
Cons: Breakfast could be a little better, especially since we have to pay for it. Bed are also a little small. The pool was pretty dirty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and great swimming pool
7.5 Good
Pros: This is an overall nice hotel. The pool is very nice, the rooms spacious and clean. The staff is helpful
Cons: The location is not the best, but Izamal is a small town so this is not terrible. The WiFi is terrible!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool and gardens. The girl at the desk was very helpful with excellent recommendations. We will go back.
Cons: Offering a continental breakfast would be great.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The outdoors was really nice and calm. The bed and bathroom were perfect.
Cons: Top many ants everywhere. We got out luggage full with them... and they started quite early with the construction site and that woke us up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: great place, much more than expected for the cost. The 10 rooms are organized around a small but superclean swimming pool, at ground level so super easy to load and unload the car (parched 10 meters from the room). Rooms big, with 2 big beds, perfect fan, perfect aircon, mosquito screens. Beautiful and super confy bathroom, abundant water and hot water. Everything new and well mainteined and well studied. For the cost was a HUGE nice surprise.
Cons: we like to have breakfast around, but considering Izamal do not offer much as places where to have breakfast, they can upgrade their breakfast to a nice level and charge for it good money. The courtyard is nice and I think will be a success.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: big bathroom and room, nice area around
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Even if they were doing renovation, they were able to fulfill all our needs. The employees were kind and allowed us to use their equipements to make soup because it was late at night to go in town. The pool was a must and was great and clean. The breakfast was pretty good, I had pancake and my girlfriend had continental with eggs and fruits. The room is nice and the bed really comfortable. The private bathroom was really great and the shower had finally a good debit of water. Parking is right on the site and not far from rooms. I would maybe just put a little fridge in the rooms since there is just breakfast available.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, safe, pool and parking
Cons: Not really a “don’t like” per say it’s more of a need to know: a car is required.

Pros: Lovely place, breakfast fabulous but 30 minutes late. Room lovely, free instant coffee. Shower , hot water good
Cons: Breakfast started 30 minutes late.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastisk and god posisjon innen the city.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Wonderful owner. Friendly staff. Lots of tv channels. Lovely patio & outdoor space. Pan included in the room rate! Appreciated the instant coffee as well. Also free bike rentals! I loved this place. Didn’t want to leave.
Cons: Cleaning chemical smell. Or Raid. Not sure but it was overpowering. Almost couldn’t deal. Beds & sheets were old & need replacing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Ver friendly receptionist, although we barely spoke any spanish and she didn`t speak any english. Room was clean and sweet, with water and some candy, but had a stark smell of dehumidifier. The location is perfect for a little walk into the city center (5 minutes). We would come again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the host was very nice
Cons: unfortunately the pool was not in use
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located very close to the main plaza and the convent. The hotel is quiet and clean, but the best was the care and love the owner puts in treating the guests. I had the breakfast and it was a massive amount of food, on top of that the owner insisted I took a sweet roll for the road.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful, tranquil and very clean. Check in and parking were easy. Receptionist was sweet. Pool and garden area was natural and relaxing! Bathroom was small but very clean.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean & comfortable. Good security. Parking available right around the corner. Walking distance to main square. Nice patio area
Cons: Said had pool but out of service. Advertises garden area but not really accessible to sit in and enjoy. Have geese, which are loud, agressive and their mess is everywhere around the garden area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room had many amenities - refrigerator, microwave, fresh drinking water and glasses, muffins, and coffee. In this hot climate a refrigerator in the room is most welcome! I liked their beautiful garden area and I took a refreshing dip in the small pool! The covered porch had comfortable chairs for sitting outside in the shade. The location was excellent - close to the town center.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Macan Ché - Izamal - Bedroom
4
8.7 Excellent (195 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Macan Ché in Izamal, you'll be within the region of Cenotes Cuzama. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: -- The front-desk people are helpful, friendly and speak English -- The cabanas and cottages are set inside a large cool jungle garden -- The A/C worked well and that's a must in Izamal
Cons: -- The property and cabanas/cottages has a zen character, which is great, but things are just way dated and have started falling into disrepair. -- It' hard to know what you get. A room described as 1 King + 1 Double can be a small crowded one-room bungalow or a large studio with nice working area and a kitchen. -- The breakfast/dinner process is quite disorganized and takes a very long time -- They do not accept credit cards (though, at least, they honor USD prices quoted by booking.com)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good. Landscaping superb. Room spacious. Pool good.
Cons: More could have been done about the mosquitos.
5.8 Okay
Pros: For breakfast the juice was not juice was watermelon water without sugar, this is an opportunity to improve. the location is far from the main square, but this makes it a quiet property
Cons: the staff at night is not very friendly, we asked for tortillas or bread for dinner and his response was to say that it was not included in the dinner even paying it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the gardens are tropical and beautiful great pool with a palapa and hamacas food v good rooms have themed decorations which we liked 15min walk from the centre of town which is a real nice place to wander around all the building are painted a mustard /yellow really interesting good restaurants with hidden rear gardens so dont be put off by the exterior
Cons: Not much to dislike Izamal is a bit off the beaten track so busses are not as often as some other places best to check your departures /arrivals ahead
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved this place. Though for me it was all about the outside spaces- the gardens were gorgeous and the natural rock bottom pool is totally worth a dip in. Breakfast is early but worth waking up for - was delicious
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, colourful cabins, nice atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gardens and big room.
Cons: A couple of comfortable chairs in the room would have been nicer.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This place is great value for money. Each room is in a small house dotted around the gardens so they are really quiet and it’s only a short stroll to the Convent. The gardens are lovely to walk around. It’s on the rustic side of things and is clean and comfortable. We had a room with air conditioning which I would recommend.
Cons: There wasn’t a lot of warm water for showers in the morning, however as it’s pretty warm outside that’s kind of OK.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is our favourite Yucatan retreat. It is an oasis with a small cenote-like pool carved out of the rock and lovely gardens on a large treed property. Breakfasts are the best we have ever had. Fruit, juice, coffee, toasted bread, followed by choice of eggs or pancakes. Staff is very attentive without being obsequious, Susana is particularly knowledgeable about plants and trees, Aracelly is a great cook, and Luis, as the manager, speaks very good English and is well-informed about life and the environment of the Yucatan.
Cons: Nothing that we didn't like. It's always special if the owners are around and you have a chance to meet them, but they were away.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool is awesome, garden is wonderful and the food is good

9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had the room with the view on he cathedral. Just stunning! Location is perfect and there staff was very nice.
Cons: The road is noisy in the morning; air conditioning was not the best, so leaving the windows open means you’ll wake up relatively early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very pleasant helpful staff. Swimming pool gave welcome relief from the heat.
Cons: The bathroom door was hard to open, but everything else was great. It may have been useful if the Hotel had provided evening meals as we found it difficult to find a good restaurant in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The standard of finish in the hotel, great room size, spotlessly clean and the location.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nicely located to visit the center of Izmal.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Right in the middle of town! Nice people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with the best view. Rooms are clean. The service is great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is one of the best places we stayed at while traveling the Yucatan. Loved the staff the grounds and pool. The town was clean friendly and a lot to see.
Cons: There is nothing to not like about this hotel or town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel located just a block from the city’s central square. The rooms feature air conditioning, a comfortable bed and a nice shower. Each room also has a mini fridge. The views from the hotel are straight onto the old convent, and the breakfast was nice. I would absolutely stay here again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff triple checked our cleaning request. For the most part, breakfast was limited but tasty and filling. Location was great once we figured out the streets right outside the door. Loved having the fridge, air conditioner, and pool.
Cons: There was a lip into the bathroom that was just high enough for us to trip over, repeatedly. There were no screens on the windows but we opened them anyway because air flow was more important than bug bites. Our room was right beside the pool bar which was okay because it wasn’t used as a bar. But not okay because it was used as the staff lunchroom. The smell of cleaning chemical was oppressive in the room when we arrived. After the first night we asked that they not use cleaning chemicals. One morning our breakfast was horrible. I think we were the only guests so they thought it was okay to serve the beans and previous day’s coffee cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, clean, quiet & everything was perfect with very good pricing
Cons: Inside city center

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Right on the main square and almost next door to the cathedral. There are Mayan ruins everywhere including one on the property in the courtyard. The courtyard was beautiful.
Cons: The only "problem" was that breakfast was not really breakfast -- only coffee and toast. Not a huge deal for us but for others that might be a major issue.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room, beautiful areas in hotel, great location. This delightful hotel is a great bargain.
Cons: Wifi is slow. No ice; had to ask clerk to get us some from restaurant, but no big deal.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is excellent, right in the middle of Izamal. The inside is charming and the rooms comfortable.
Cons: The staff was very rude. They could not speak English at all (the only thing the girl could say was "Pay now" in a quite aggressive manner) and were not welcoming at all, almost hostile.. There was no breakfast available and they were not helpful at giving us good addresses to eat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was small. We complemented it ordering eggs with extra cost. Place is very nice and well located, and very clean. It is just opposite the main square, and a couple of minutes walk from the Convent. Very charming town.
Cons: We had to complement the breakfast ordering eggs with an extra cost. Marmalade was only from small containers, nothing special. Front desk staff was not very helpful with extra requests.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good localization and price.
Cons: The acess to the WiFi is only in the general area . Poor breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Staff, people, facilities, the works !!
Cons: NOTHING !
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful colonial decor with outdoor seating areas. On main city square. Our room in the back was quiet.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very good. It was possible to see the convent, the main tourist attraction from the first floor. The interior of the shared space was nicely decorated. The room was clean.
Cons: There was not much included in breakfast - just roasts with jam and butter and coffee, but it is possible to order more (for example omelette for extra cost). In theory the breakfast is available from 7 am but in practice it was possible to order the full menu around 8 am. (We are early birds and wanted to leave early so we found it a bit inconvenient)
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is superb. Hotel has character and is very comfortable. Good beds. Loved the patio off the back rooms.
Cons: Floors needed a good cleaning throughout.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was across the square close to the church. The hotel had amazing decor. Angels everywhere. Lots of places to sit. The breakfast area was against a ruin pyramid with lots of plants and trees. There was a pond off the lobby with huge koi fish in it. Breakfast was simple but good.
Cons: There was only one hanger in the room and all of them were the same, we peeked. We could hear the hum of the pond pump all night so bring ear plugs.
Hacienda Sacnicte - Izamal - Bedroom

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a free upgrade and our room was fantastic actually the casa is magical and Philippo was so kind and sincere. We will definitely visit this place again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous Boutique Hotel. Calm. Amazing staff. Huge rooms with high ceilings. All of that in the nature with just birds songs
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hacienda, nice staff
Cons: Swimming not super clean, a lit bit far from Izamal
6.8 Good
Pros: The property is outstanding, full of magical spots that you will appreciate. Calm, gorgeous surroundings. Very well located, you are 10 minutes away driving distance from Izamal. Staff was very good: the couple in charge of (almost) everything, Ermita and Paco, along with the onsite manager, Mario, make Hacienda Sacncité's experience worth staying there.
Cons: The cleanliness of the room - bed linen had a funny smell - although the staff reacted very efficiently as soon as we raised the problem. The water pressure on the shower was minimal and it took ages for the water to get somehow warm, not even hot. The towel holder was rusty and obviously wet towels got stained. Breakfast is included, which is great. But some basics (juice and bread) are packaged goods instead of being freshly pressed or baked. Again, a shame considering all the natural ingredients this wonderful Yucatan Peninsula has to offer! And some local tricks to keep flies away from your food while you are eating would be highly appreciated... They are understaffed... it's impossible for 2 people to take care of the 10 room venue set-up and cleaning, preparing breakfast, checking all the property's details and maintenance. At some point they are unable to fullfill all the tasks efficiently. These might seem minor details, but on the one hand it is a shame considering the potential the place has, and on the other hand, taking in consideration the price paid, these details are unacceptable. We were told by the onsite manager, that the hotel was opened for business just in early december... that might partly explain the above issues... But in all fairness, I believe we should have been warned beforehand that this was the case for us to expect some missfunction and/or being offered some sort of discounted price as part of their 'soft opening' process.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Upgrade and pool, also very authentic place
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful architecture, decorated with taste, really nice staff and personalised service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, rooms large, comfortable and nicely decorated. Pool in very good shape. Luscious breakfast with friendly and entertaining hosts.
Cons: ./.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hacienda
Cons: The juice. It would be nice to have a real juice
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Internet not working properly. But who needs internet at this location :-)

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect service!
Cons: Dangerous dogs.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Individually designed interiors with unique features .Nice pool and bar /Breakfast area.Helpful staff.
Cons: The toilet had a separate door which was great however the sink and shower area were open to the bedroom with mesh windows which made the noise from late arrivals and early departures unnecessarily noisy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very large bed, nice and comfortable
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast (at extra cost) was complete, location is bit far from downtown (15 min walk) but quiet. The hotel owner was welcoming and polite. The staff was friendly. We enjoyed the company of the dogs they have adopted.
Cons: This has nothing to do with the hotel but during our stay we experieced a blackout and it was a very hot night and the rooms don't have ceiling fans. We couldn't sleep well that night. And the single bed in the triple room was very hard.
5.0 Okay
Pros: There were nice dogs about the place and the rooms were fine.
Cons: The owner was argumentative and difficult over a small problem we experienced...the place is not worth it...
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and spacious. It was very clean. There is only a short walk to the center.
Cons: The pool was dirty and was not at all deep. Not good for jumping in the water or swimming. There was construction workers working all day right next to the pool.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good size room, great staff
Cons: 1. No chair in room at all, no place to sit other than bed. 2. Lot of mosquitoes in room. 3. Shower was SCALDING hot! Took forever to get cold water to come through so I could get a shower. Water way way way too hot for shower. 4. Unable to shave in sink as the water coming out was just a dribble. 5. Outlets are too high on the wall making it difficult to charge anything.
7.5 Good
Pros: Our friends were given the upstairs rooms, they were spacious and comfortable, lots of light, and a shared patio space. The new renovations look as if it will improve the quality of this hotel.
Cons: There was no coffee available. The restaurant next door did not open for breakfast... the air conditioner wasn’t working properly. Room # 1 is off the lobby and street so could be noisy at times.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing. Everything it’s very cool !

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good location, helpful staff, clean room. A bite expansive for a bed and a shower (no breakfast). I recomend !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice accommodation for a very good price. AC worked perfectly. Comfy beds, easy check-in.
Cons: We were provided just two towels for three people but I guess we would get more if we would have asked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfy rooms.
Cons: It’s located a bit outside of the city center
9.3 Excellent
Cons: There was a baby opossum that got trapped in the property they guy which checked us in killed him with a rock. And it took him 20 min pounding him poor thing. It came to us smelled my girlfriend foot, we thought it was a cat. Poor baby opossum. Next time you guys wait people will unpack and then get rid of rodent.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed and a large room. But very basic.
Cons: For this price I'd expect some more attention to detail and comfort. For example there wasn't a reading light by the bed, the wifi didn't work beyond bedroom 1 and 2 next to reception, there could have been free filtered water and some information in reception about the town and buses etc.
7.0 Good
Pros: The view from the first floor! Not too far from the center (you can easily walk to and fro).
Cons: The absence of a kitchen and any facilities to store food or boil water.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: two double bed security car park
Cons: personal don't know even basic english or try communiti with us using hands. lack of pressure in shower spiders in room no fridge no trash
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable big beds! Very cheap considering how great the rooms are!
Cons: WiFi didn’t work in our room because it was the furthest room from the reception.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything else is great. Very clean, large and feels like newly refurbished rooms. Massive and VERY comfortable bed, good new A.C. - everything to have a great recharging sleep. Quiet location 5 min from the central square. Great value for money. I would stay here again.
Cons: Wi-Fi only in rooms 1-2.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The bed looked like someone already slept there because there were hairs and splotches... They changed our room but it was still a bit dirty. There is nothing you can cover with at night so I used my home towel. It was very uncomfortable. You can use the big bed cover but they use the same for all guests. Noone speaks English so it's very difficult to discuss something. New guests arrived at night and they couldn't get to the hotel area so they woke up all the guests with their screaming. The receptionist was sleeping... I would rather pay 100 pesos more having a proper bed cover than experience this again...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: More than an hotel, this moment was a real Experience. An old fashion house with modern design and architecture adaptation. People were adorable. Everything is made to share passion of beautiful things. It was incredible.
6.8 Good
Pros: The property is a very special place. Beautiful design and in a great location.
Cons: It seems that the main focus is on design instead of making the guests comfortable. For example, the stairs to the rooms are extremely treacherous. I am shocked they are taking on the liability as you would probably die if you fell on the stairs. The bed is beautiful but shakes dramatically every time you move. The fan squeaks all night long. The shower has no door so the entire bathroom floor gets wet. The breakfast is good but very simple. They could easily add some fresh fruit to the continental breakfast. It really is such a special place and with a few tweaks they could make the rooms so much more comfortable. I would suggest management staying in the room for a night to understand all of the issues.

6.8 Good
Pros: The localization of the hotel is perfect.
Cons: In general it will be ok for that low prize, if only there was no stench of mold in the room.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: I needed a cup of hot water while i was sick, but there was no kettle or cup available

Cons: the bathroom’s color
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect hotel! Excellent swimming pool. The room is big enough. Everything worked fine! Staff does not speak English but very helpful!
Cons: It says on booking.com that breakfast is available for additional price. NO! The hotel has a restaurant, but it doesn't work. The hotel / restaurant does not provide any food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cheap and cheerful. Big beds. Pool area was really nice. No issues with noise in the evening.
Cons: Not sure if WiFi was available
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool was more than welcome in the scorching heat of this beautiful city. Not much in terms of facilities, but that was expected. Our room was big and the A/C was a godsend. Location was good as well, every interesting thing was within walking distance. A nice place for an overnight stay, but maybe not for an extended period of time.
Cons: Some of our neighbors - a family with a turbulent kid and some other drunken guests - were loud and we had to deal with them ourselves. That's not the hotel's fault, but still, the configuration of the place makes it hard to avoid the noises made by loud guests who might stumble to their room late at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, clean seeeming pool and comfortable beds , terrace nice as well, hot water
Cons: Staff could be more friendly, no kitchen
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the pool and the style of the outside area. Close to the city center. Great value for money!
Cons: There was a lot of spider webs in the room. No furniture at all.
6.8 Good
Pros: The room was big enough and as described. Also bathroom was clean.
Cons: Around the location is no shop or restaurant to get some food (dinner). Need to walk 20 min back into downtown area. Big TV, but no working.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: I was looking for a relaxing night in te dmall city Izamal and there was a big pool party with a lot a person drinking and yelling in the pool. The music and the noise was so intense that I couldn’t spleep until it end maybe around 1am. It seems that it was a party for the truck driver because there was a lot of it in the parking. If the hotel accept this kind of activity during the night they mist tell the clients who just want to relax after their visit of the city.
