Never stayed in hotel this nice. Price was very good.
Nothing. Everything was perfect considering corona virus.
All of the property’s restaurants closed the day of our arrival due to Covid. We found out at check in. With limited options for dining in the area, the staff made a nice effort to accommodate their guests. Extended coffee service in the morning, the happy hours in the late afternoon, poolside cookout. All good efforts to overcome the ever-changing effects of the Covid related closures.
Not that we would have gone elsewhere, but we never received any communication about the restaurant closures at the hotel until check-in. It happened within 24 hours of that. But nonetheless, even an email the next day would have shown effort. Also, we called before going to bed our first night to ask about getting coffee the next morning as there was no coffee maker in the room (or any room we learned) and the concierge / front desk told us about a place down the street for coffee. When I went out the next morning to get coffee “down the street,” the staff was cleaning up the complimentary coffee in the lobby. When I inquired a few minutes after 9:00, the staff said it was available until 9:00. No one offered to get a cup or see what remained. The remainder of our stay, the coffee was out a good bit later, and the staff seemed to be working in stride to accommodate their guests with happy hour, Ice cream, poolside cookouts.
No water pressure at the sink. Had to wait all day to get Toilet paper, so we had to use facial tissues that were in the room until we found housekeeping in the hall. Also, the phones to call the front desk were not working!!
Let's see. I did not enjoy the maintenance workers drilling into my 6 floor balcony at 8 am. I really didn't enjoy the disregard of the staff when I mentioned it to them. I had to walk all the way down to a Starbucks to buy my coffee, because I never received my free coffee vouchers, until check out. I stayed at the Omni on Amelia Island, and there was a personal keuring in my room. Guests should be given this option at least, I do not want to walk down to get coffee at a luxury hotel. Drilling and maintenance continued on my room, my actual balcony, the remainder of the morning. I was offered a partial refund, but I will never stay at another Westin again. I actually cancelled a previous reservation to stay here, and wish I had not.
Close to everything! Very pretty views! We will be back!
