This is a wonderful hotel. They were very helpful to me even before I arrived. They were the nicest people and had a wonderful breakfast that was included. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend this to everyone I know.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and neat. No A/C, but considering it's in Germany there really is no need for it; just open a window and it's fine.
not all the rooms are "Design" as portraied
Serving the breakfast
Hotel Zollamt is near the USA/USAF installations. Very clean nice place to stay. Close to the Kaiserslautern train station for weekend getaways. The morning breakfast service was excellent. The hotel staff were very pleasent and helpful.
The hotel Zollamt had a nice atmosphere all around, and the staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. NO...
The staff were fantastic - helpful in every way. Hotel is in a quiet area but just a 20 minute stroll to the centre. Beautifully decorated public areas.
superb personal service by the owner and his staff; tasteful decor; wonderful breakfast; restful rooms; cleanliness.
The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. The hotel was clean and easy to find. The cells were larger than we thought! Fun place to stay with High School group!!
The Hotel was very beautiful and the room was very comfortable. It was interesting to stay in a converted prison. The parking; they seemed to have enough when we checked in, but they had people that wernt staying at the hotel park in in the lot.
It was a very unique experience staying in a former prison. Barb Wire, white walls, breakfast buffet was good. easy to find. a cool hotel no tv in the rooms
Somewhere completely different, real attention to detail it has been stunningly refurbished. Warm welcome and very clean.
The design elements were excellent. It really makes the most of being an old prison. Complete with black and white striped curtains and towels, the hotel was fun to stay at. We stayed in one of the comfort rooms and it was great, though a little small. The clerk was a little cold upon arrival. It may have been because we are Americans and were speaking English to each other, though I tried to speak in German for all of the check-in process. Also the pillows were quite thin. Other than that, everything was great!
The hotel looks good, is very clean and staff are helpful and welcoming. My room (cell room) was basic but comfortable. Very good breakfast. Wifi available in the reception area. Nice atmosphere in the hotel.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, walking distance to downtown and other activites, WIFI available in lobby. Decent breakfast buffet. While WIFI was available in the public area, it would have been nice to have it in the room.
I stayed in a cell room, and it was sparse as a prison cell should be. It was comfortable for what it was suppose to be. A nice breakfast buffet. The price for the cell rooms was a little expensive.
Novelty factor of sleeping in a cell. Clean & modern. Communal showers. No Wi-fi in rooms. Breakfast - would be better with hot food options.
The hotel was really nice and modern inside yet kept lots of the original prison features. Very clean throughout. I would have preferred the bed to be a double, rather than two singles pushed together.
Location of hotel is excellent!! I would have liked a double bed since I booked a double room. Two people sleeping together on those twin beds are ridiculous. Had to sleep like brother and sister rather than husband and wife!
The hotel staff and the breakfast. There wasn't an alarm clock available. The front desk closed by 2130 and if I came back to the hotel after that I couldn't request a wake up call. It would have been nice to have an alarm clock available to set for myself.
I stayed at this hotel because it was the closest to the local hospital. My boyfriend and I had gone to Germany on holiday, when he got a case of pancreatitis and had to have his gall bladder removed. I chose this hotel because it was very central in Kaiserslautern, and only a 10 minute walk to the hospital. The staff were amazing. They all spoke English very well, and were very understanding when I had to extend my stay several days after my original departure time. Breakfast is included, which was great. The hotel is located downtown, within walking distance of several restaurants, a grocery store, and park where they had a carnival and other fun things on the weekend. If we ever went back to K-town, I would stay at this hotel again! They advertised free wi-fi, but it was only available in one of the buildings that make up this hotel. They did have a computer in the breakfast room that was free for guests to use though.
the hotel was comfortable and warm and near our son who we went to visit
It was quite, clean and within walking of dinning and shopping> The staff leaves at 10:00 pm but I did not need them.
Everything was fantastic. The hotel staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The room was great. I stayed for nearly a month, and the room was spacious enough to be comfortable for that extended length of time. The location is fabulous. In addition to being close to the pedestrian area, there are several restaurants within a couple of blocks.
friendly staff, good breakfast and great acess to city center.
The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful
secured parking with a gate no view but great breakfast buffet
Surrounded by woods. The owner was very helpful. He provided transportation to two events. Nice restaurant & good food, and many fine, cold breakfast foods--included with room. Would stay here again!!!
The hotel was nestled in the woods with great running trails as well as horses and cows. We happened to get there the last night of a jazz festival, and there was a band playing. The music was great and the beer garden is huge. Also, great breakfast the next morning.
Room on second floor large, airy and fresh. Outdoor bier garden with friendly atmosphere and good food. staff friendly and speak English well.Pleasantly surpised by quality for price. Nice walks in the woods. Would have stayed longer if not booked.
After 2 nights in characterless chain hotels in the industrial parts of Verona & Zurich, Hotel Bremerhof was just what we needed. All 4 of us slept very well in comfy beds in the quiet countryside, and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Personally, I also enjoyed my morning run in the beautiful forest and the misty views from the Humburg Tower.
The location was very nice. It is located in a park with walking trails. The staff was pleasant and certainly made us feel welcome. The food was excellent. Wish we had stayed longer - will definitely go back.
Our family room was a good size for 4 people and well prepared but the room facilites were spartan. There was no coffee machine or kettle. This place is foremost a restaurant and beer garden with rooms attached. It has none of the facilites of a hotel and is more like a large B&B. To get to the top floor where the rooms are you have to navigate up 3 stories of stairs that are tired, stained and smell.
View, and good environtment
I liked the beer garden outside. It was nice just to have a lazy day and relax and have a few beers while I ate in the beer garden.
Great size family room, recently refurbished with fantastic ensuite bathroom and tasteful decor. Outside a great beer garden and childrens play area. Also it was out of town , we went walking in to the forest where there was also swings and slides for children. Very beautiful area.Staff very friendly. No it was very impressive
Wonderful location in the country. So quiet. Had a good dinner. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, they had modern facilities and the restaurant was fantastic! the stairwell on the third floor was a little difficult due to missing handrail
Large "american style" beds, each room had a balcony, great resteraunt, staff very friendly and helpful. Showers a bit small, but not unusual for Europe.
Great location Comfort Price
The heat was not working in our room, so it was cold, especially the floor... however, the blanket/comforters were amazingly warm so we dealt with it ... the hotel is so quaint and everything is lovely about staying there... it feels like an escape to an adorable cottage. needed heat in the room
Not bad but a little bit expensive for such quality. Free parking. Need to be renovated.
Due to vehicle breakdown in Austria we were delayed for 24 hours but the hotel were happy to change our booking when I phoned them at 4:30pm on 21 August. Also when we finally arrived on 22 August, they were happy to provide hot meals in the restaurant even though it was only 15 minutes before it was due to close. I don't think an English 3 star hotel would have treated us so well. The only problem was being woken at 5:30am by a large transport jet landing at the nearby US airbase! However, there is not much the hotel can do about that!
The location, the staff, being able to bring our dog with. The room was furnished with old U.S. Military furniture that was probably sold at a Defense Reutilization Management Office (DRMO) auction. The U.S. Air Force property lables were still inside the drawers.
everything was terrific nice people thanks
Great hotel for kids, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The breakfast buffet was very nice with a good selection of breads, fruits, cereals, eggs, drinks, etc. Good for families with children. Walk to hotel room was very far from parking and had to go up many steps in narrow places. Walkway to hotel room was smoke-filled and room was not smoke free. Not pleasant. Room was full of extra beds with rough bedding. Beds were far too soft to sleep comfortably - with absolutely no support. Room had extra furniture and refrigerators in it like it was a storage room of some sort. Internet Wi-Fi not available in room... only in hotel lobby. Compared to every other city/town in Germany I visited, the price was too high for room & service received.
away from the crazy crowds no - we really enjoyed our stay
The owner and family were very nice and friendly. Made the stay very pleasant.
The bar and beer garden were very nice. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful, although few spoke any form of English. I found this strange considering the large number of american servicemen and their families who live and visit in this area. I found our room to be dark and dismal. The morning after our arrival I could see in the daylight that the room was not very clean. There were dirty marks all over the floor, The final straw was the piece of nose dirt on the wallpaper. We left early and got into another hotel!
This was my second stay at this "Triditional German Hotel", it is increasingly harder and harder to find original German Hospatality due to chain hotels. Bottomline: The best experience I've evre had in any European Country. I love this place! COL Michael D. Hughes LG USA
Friendly, accommodating staff. Quiet, comfortable room. Lack of refrigerator & microwave will have me looking for another hotel next time.
Hotel staff was very friendly!
Beautifull wellness area!
Clean and quiet location. Good restaurant.
The Hotel is very clean and confortable. It is also close to the center and several good restaurants, only a few blocks of the walk area where the restaurants are. The hotel is simple but yet confortable, like a good family house.
It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little pricey considering Kaiserslautern is not that busy and the hotel was pretty empty.
Friendly people and good location They did not have free Internet access
Location was good. Lack of service, unwilling to fix a (main) light that was out, parking, price was high for what you get.
Staff were nice, room cozy and quaint.
The location was close to Vogelweh and Kaiserslatern but with a small village atmosphere. The complementary breakfast was as good as it gets in Germany. The staff was friendly and provided great service.
This was a traditional German hotel, on a quiet side street in a large village, on the edge of a forest, so our stay was both relaxing and enjoyable.
I conducted business during the day; my family enjoyed the hotel restaurant during the day (lunch, desserts). We enjoyed dinner one night of our stay at the hotel restaurant; awesome food..! Main entrance to certain hotel rooms was through the restaurant. While not ideal, the staff is used to it and assists customers as necessary.
We stayed there twice on this vacation and it was great both times. We recommend it.
Traditional German hotel with good breakfast. A restaurant in the hotel. Near to US military base. Our fan in our room was broken and there was no replacement, luckily it was not very hot. Our room has a low beam above our bed, so had to be careful not to hit our head against the beam. Limited hotel parking but there was a huge public parking near the hotel.
I would not stay at this hotel again. The proprietress was unhappy that I had booked through a site rather than directly with them and expressed this up front, then was unfriendly for the entirety of my stay. The hotel itself sits in a nice little town and has a decent restaurant, but the rooms felt more like dorm rooms and the bath linens were threadbare. I did not feel at all comfortable at this hotel and while I spend a great deal of time in Landstuhl on business, I will avoid this particular lodging from now on.
I attended a conference so I really enjoyed being able to just wake up and be there. The room and the breakfast were lovely. The local area is quiet and pleasant. The staff was helpful but not overly warm. The food in the restaurant was amazing and well priced. Drinkers in the bar were a bit loud on Saturday night but I guess that is to be expected. Also, they left the hotel sign on all night long and it was just outside my window which was slightly distracting.
The main building had character and food was good. We were placed in a room in the annexe that had no character at all. The room was situated on ground floor by a road that was quite busy. A car park was also situated close by and at 4 am a market stall was being erected which was noisy and kept us awake. Full of American military personell so did not feel that we were in Germany. A shame.
Location was great and staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were VERY comfortable. Lack of Air Conditioning...but with the cool night air and the windows it was still fairly comfortable.
Loved the service. Free breakfast and the restaraurant at the hotel was very classy. Great spa as well Didn't like that the spa wasn't open when it was suppose to be. No pool either.
The best Landstuhl has to offer, great location, quiet, walking distance to the restored castle with overview of the city; within walking distance to the town. Highly recommend no
