Traditional living, breakfast and diner provided, multi courses. Food might be challenging for some. Staff are lovely. Very cool building and garden. Hot pools again an interesting experience.
sitting on the floor in the room, not a real problem.
Beautiful traditional bedroom, extremely comfortable with glorious soft and warm bedding. Very attentive , charming and helpful staff. Lovely onsen .
Amazing place in the forest. Big and traditional room. So many places to visit on the ryokan. The onsen experience was nice too. They are so polite ans it makes us feel so comfortable.
They just speak some english words. But they try and make an effort to explain everything.
Cannot even begin to describe how beautiful this place is. We were looking for a genuine and authentic stay in a ryokan and we got it. The building, grounds, rooms and onsen are all stunning and it’s the best nights stay I’ve ever had in any hotel around the world. The peace and tranquility of the surroundings and being so close to the forest and nature outside our room, also the small details of the guesthouse and the seating areas with beautiful furniture and interesting intricacies dotted throughout with complete silence just made it even more special and such an authentic experience. It’s difficult to articulate an experience like we had without experiencing it for yourself, it transcends any hotel and takes you somewhere completely different, so peaceful and such an amazing evening I’ll never forget. We left the shutters open and woke up with the sunlight breaking through the forest infront of where we slept. The breakfast is traditional Japanese and you need to understand what is involved in this before you decide to order it or not, but it was very good quality and if you’re adventurous and a foodie you should try the breakfast. I’m sure the dinner was top quality based on the standard of the breakfast. We were also cordoned off into a private eating area of the dining room with a ridiculous view of the “noh stage”. Can’t get over how beautiful the building and grounds are, was like staying in a temple that was built around nature. Stunning architecture and precision of detail. If you want to experience Japanese culture, please book it. It’s only a 40 minute bus journey from Kanazawa train station (JR pass) and is very easy to get to.
Historical building but still very clean. We love the hotspring and food is great also. Only two buses per day, must catch it or you are going to take taxi and that’s very expensive.
