10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great. I travel to different areas of Ireland for work and always try to stay in local B&B's rather than chain hotels when I can. Ollie was a really good host, the bed was comfy, room clean, breakfast great and he sorted it out when I needed it outside of normal breakfast times. I'd be happy to stay here when back in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ollie was extremely welcoming and has truly done an exceptional job in making his guest house a truly wonderful place to stay. The place has great sized rooms with some lovely touches that provides a lot of character. Breakfasts were excellent too! I have recommended to family and friends and will definitely be back again myself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ollie was an exceptional host and canoe tour guide in every way, not to mention a genuinely kind person and deeply passionate, proud advocate for the beautiful surrounding natural environment and for the Midlands’ people and their history. His knowledge of the area and his interest in my ancestral connections to it deeply enriched my time spent there. Claudagh’s tasteful touches to the beautiful accommodations and warm presence were also very much felt and appreciated.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is to add a small light over/on the dresser. Everything else was superb.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent for our needs, as we were in need of a stopping point on the way to Dublin Airport the next morning. Ardee is a great town for dinner, if needed. Though we didn't have time to explore, there are a number of things to do in the area, including an "ecological trail" just on the other edge of Tallanstown. Anne and Gerard were excellent hosts, and the breakfast was to die for, especially the French press coffee.
Cons: Honestly, I can't recommend any improvements.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel seemed to be buzzing all the time, staff extremely helpful, bedrooms were very clean & comfortable & fabulous breakfasts ...
Cons: the only downside was that the shower had no ‘power’ & almost ’trickled out’ of shower-head & the temperature went from too hot to almost cold in a split second.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were hard working, polite and anxious to please. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the food scrumptious.
Cons: It was difficult to park on occasion and friends who were with us had to pay to park . That’s the only thing that lets the hotel down. Please can you come to some arrangements with owners car park by obtaining permit cards ?

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Receptionist had a friendly personality.
Cons: From the car park where there were black sacks of rubbish being burned in full view of customers to the shabby decor and dusty room, it did not instill confidence in the place being clean! It needs one hell of a deep clean and for the old shabby carpets and too many ornaments to be thrown out. Call in the Brennan Brothers!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Not much it was seriously shabby and run down
Cons: Tired property and sour staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was clean and the location is pretty.
Cons: The hotel is extremely old-fashioned with carpets and decor that really don’t belong in this century. The staff weren’t very well trained and weren’t sure of what type of drinks etc they offer at the hotel. The food was very basic with no effort put into presentation. Overall it was very old-fashioned and was not worth the €140 overnight stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The old style furniture in bedrooms & location
Cons: Trying to get taxi back from town to hotel
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was convenient for Virginia
Cons: Breakfast in the bar with sky news blaring was a poor experience. Hotel has potential but feels a little run down. Despite the dates appearance the rooms are clean.
7.0 Good
Pros: Bedroom had everything we needed, safe hairdryer kettle tea coffee, a mirror near a plug & comfortable beds. Reception had lovely lady with good information & very pleasant.
Cons: I didn't like the booming music blaring from a speaker outside. It would have been nice sitting by the lake in the sun having a quiet drink. It's quite dated inside & needs a makeover!! It felt a bit run down.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beautiful location.
Cons: Very uncomfortable bed.......the reception area was lovely but the rest of the building is tired.....the bar area, where food is served is dirty. A lick of paint, replacing worn out furniture and changing to floor would completely change the place......it’s very drab and full of dust collecting stuff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, quiet and clean, the staff could not have been more pleasant and as for the owner, a thorough gentleman and went out of his way to drive us to our destination
5.8 Okay
Pros: I loved the area, the view was amazing! We went for dinner in Oldcastle and it was a very convenient spot and the lake was gorgeous!
Cons: The sheets were stained in the room and the room itself was in serious need of an update. All the furnishings were completely outdated , the mattress was just springs wrapped in fabric and the shower drain cover was all broken and sharp! The “balcony” was horrifying as it was covered with spiders as well as the roof of the room and tv, the room seemed like it hadn’t had a proper dusting in a long time. I can understand keeping the spiders outside the building though because the fly situation was horrendous, the staff were aware of this and asked us to keep our windows closed , this however wasn’t ideal as it was roasting that night! The staff seemed kind but also seemed like they just wanted their day to end. The bar closed early we were given the option to bring drinks up with us but this didn’t seem ideal. There was no chance for a cocktail at the bar and no entertainment even though it was a Friday night. All the tables were set for breakfast by 9pm. And to top it all off the same west life cd was on repeat for the whole time we were there. I listened to it at least 4 times in a row!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are really friendly and helpful. The view of the lake is amazing
