It was really hard to find the shuttle driver and when we did it took us to a sketchy feeling part of town took us into a warehouse and had us talk with a representative with a very heavy accent over a computer screen. We were not told where to bring the car back - turns out we had to find the sketchy warehouse back and they could not take us back to our hotel even though it was closer than the airport.

There was a minor scratch at the bottom of the front bumper which is not visible unless you are on your knees. As far as I am concerned we didn’t do anything to cause it. It may be already there and we didn’t notice when we took the care at midnight. At any rate my gripe is with how they handled this situation. We bought most expensive coverage possible with them which is twice the rental price itself. But during checkout they stalled us because of this issue even though we told them that we are cutting too close to our departure time and requested them to call the insurance and get it reimbursed because we already bought the coverage. But they insisted on us calling them and we couldn’t because we didn’t have local mobile plan. After lot of back and forth they checked other contracts on the vehicle and probably figured out that the damage was already there and the let us off the hook. It was a happy ending but the whole drama could have been avoided if they had customer service at the forefront of their minds.

I actually cancelled my reservation after finding out that their hours of operation start at 8:00AM. That doesn’t work for returning a car when you have a 6:30 AM flight. Would have been fine if they operated 24 hours.

Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..

The cost for the rental was about $180 yet the security deposit was $2000. That was a bit excessive to me. So I ended up canceling reservation.

Pros:

I like nothing about my car rental experience. First I requested a minvan, but got a car. The cars are poorly maintain. I had to return one car to get another but there were both junks. The service was so slow you could have gone to bed and still didn't miss anything.

Cons:

Obviously, the condition of the cars. Making sure that what is requested is what one receive. The staff should be train to understand when one just completed a flight that maybe be long and tiresome from delays and the woes of traveling, to reach their final destination, customer wants to go!

They were very accommodating and flexible, and when I had a flat tire, the assistance was prompt and efficient. The only thing is they held US 1000 on my credit card which I am yet to get back 😩. Apart from that they seem a decent company.

Pros:

Staff was flexible and accommodating to my changing needs.

Cons:

Tinted vehicle, I would not rent another vehicle from this establishment for this fact. It is irresponsible to not participate in tinting vehicle, the vehicle stands out more as it does not conform to social norms and adds a layer of unnecessary danger to a visiting driver.

Staff was excellent, drop off and drop in point also in good location. Near airport.

Cons:

I didn’t expect that the car rental price is not included insurance what makes half of price in day from car price. Total expenses was more than I was expected and any other options to don’t buy insurance and drive was not a option. So I have a question - why don’t you put already that insurance cost in day charge for the car? I felt really disappointed.

First of all, I’m not the type to leave comments but I had to this time because I don’t want anyone to be in the position I was in on their vacation/trip. Ok so my flight to Kingston, Jamaica came in a little later than was scheduled due to the weather, so one would assume that my vehicle would be ready and waiting since my scheduled pick up time. It wasn’t, and no explanation was given as to why it wasn’t. The representative at the counter took forever to process the papers, all in the meantime talking to (and about) other co-workers, answering personal cell phone calls, and text messages. That was very unprofessional. I made a reservation and ended up having to pay more than the original amount that was on my reservation. Then the vehicle I got for the amount of money I paid was in terrible conditions. All the lights on the dash would come on and off constantly. The door lights stayed on for the entire trip. I went around the vehicle, opening and ensuring that all the doors were closed, but the light remained on. I was traveling with my family, including my children and I wasn’t comfortable seeing the door light on. Another thing, the seats did not adjust. Half the seatbelts in the vehicle did not work. That vehicle should not be rented to anyone else. It’s evident that the vehicle was involved in an accident and the repairs were not well done. The ride was uncomfortable and the only thing I could think of and prayed about was that nothing would happen to my family in this vehicle before I return it. Because it sure felt like it was gonna break at any point. I will NEVER RENT FROM ACE/ISLAND RENTAL EVER AGAIN. Not even here in the U.S.

Pros:

Kamarley tried to overcharge me. My two weeks res. Was for $531.24. Upon arriving I gave him the reservation number and he confirm my name and that I had it booked for two weeks and I declined all extras. He then said my total is $700.00, I asked for a breakdown of the price (never got it)

Cons:

They will try to overcharge you and when you refuse to pay more than your reservation rate, they make you wait for hours before you get a car.

This was a scam. Deceptive marketing with hidden fees and predatory practices on the consumer. I canceled reservation onsite , didn’t take the car and will never use them or affiliate rental companies. I will never recommend them.

Online your able to pay with an American Express Card. When you get there after a long flight and a a long drive from Mimai Airport to get there....they tell you we do not accept American Express cards. Mr and two other customers went through the same thing...there was a lot of upset people in the same boat...yelling, arguing. I will never use them again! Stop accepting American Express online for carwiz!

Super friendly, helpful and efficient staff. No unnecessary hassle. The main drawback is that the office is a few kilometers away from the airport, but they make up for that by a operating a free high-frequency shuttle between terminal 3 and the office.

The vehicle had mechanical issues. We could not drive the car and they are refusing a refund. They had to pick up the vehicle because we could not drive it. We are currently trying to get a refund with great difficulty and they are trying not to provide it.

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

I arrived at the airport at 7:30pm and called for a shuttle. I called twice with no answer. I took a taxi out an couldn't find the location. I finally got through and the person on the phone said they closed at 5. On my printed out paper, it says pick up till 9pm. I had to make a last minute booking with another company at the airport and paid a 65$ taxi fee for the back and forth. The money I would have saved was not worth this head ache. I am super disappointed the pick up times weren't clearly indicated and I would have arranged myself accordingly. I think kayak should make a better effort in providing better, reliable companies considering their name is associated with them.

Waited 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle. Called ACO several times but no answer. Car engine light came on and the ACO call centre was unable to help me, it being a Sunday. I sent a photo and an email of my concern but received no reply. No windshield washer fluid.

The customer service person had no explanation and offered no help other then to go back online and try again. When I did this I was told there were no cars available. Shuttle from airport doesn’t arrive. I called multiple times. No answer, no response to voicemail. Took taxi instead. Hard to find location which is in the middle of nowhere, barely lit and marked Tuff instead of ACO. Got to counter at 7:02 and was told they close at 7 so wouldn’t help me. Also if you are an hour late your entire contract is canceled anyway. So they would not have helped me regardless due to the shuttle bus issue. I was stranded with my toddler and no car. Staff would not even call me a taxi. Thank goodness Lyft was nearby. Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible operation. I wasted $50+ in cab fare thanks to ACO. BEWARE.
