Bathroom very cold no heating
A pleasant hotel to stay at with friendly waiting staff. Chaotic check-in / check-out, with original e-mail reservation lost. Then tried to charge a higher rate, and capped it all by telephoning the next day to make a 'no show' charge for not having arrived as booked!
It was cheap No major issues, you get what you pay for, the basics
Bedrooms were adequately furnished, & very clean Reception areas are in need of refurbishment, staff were polite but didn't provide the service you would expect. The Bar was closed at 10pm, and we were told we could take drinks to our room!
Our room had great view, but seems not very many do. Our room had plenty of space for our family of 4 For hotel rate, you would think the "complimentary" breakfast would include hot chocolate.
the views the shower was very poor
Hotel was clean and rooms had been newly refurbished. No information in room of fire exits and meal availability. No warning about scalding hot water. Poor food at breakfast and poor availability after a coach party had blitzed the breakfast room. Quality of food was poor. Tv had hardly any choice of programmes despite the only information in the room advertising all the available tv channels, we could only receive about 4. Room was located at back of hotel up many stairs and corridors.
No lift to top floor. cold shower. very bad bed.
Nice room comfortable and clean.
Very good position, free parking available.
The internet booking was not registered in the hotel and that was really bad. Curtains in dinningroom can get attention, little sloppy.
Location, ambiance, food, the drawing, and snooker rooms along with an interesting library, the grounds, pond, walking paths, tennis and walled garden. Tranquility. Just an excellent place. WiFi was highly appreciated. Temperature control poor. Very hot when we arrived; could only cool down by turning off all heat registers. The shower head is way too large for a small shower stall and should not be an overhead. A table and chair for a computer would be nice.
Hotel had a luxurious feel, excellent food in the restaurant, friendly staff Pillows a bit on the soft side but that maybe just personal preference.
Brilliant Hotel, Staff very friendly and helpful well situated on the outskirts of the town. Rooms are finished to a very high standard. Food in Browns bar and Bistro is exceptional quality. None
A very friendly hotel which is clean, welcoming and has a good restaurant.
A good hotel with good staff, just felt a bit clinical, not homely.
The breakfast, and the fact our room was ready early.
Very comfortable room & good food No bad points
Nice breakfasts. Good food. The modernity of the rooms and bathroom. Walking distance to station and centre. Pillows were too soft. No mini bar or fridge. Placing too close to other customers at meal times when there were other tables available.
Smart looking; easy parking; modern decor inside; excellent menu for evening meals Lack of reading lamps and coffee tables. No lift.
Hotel was great, staff were very friendly and food in the restaurant was great. A very relaxing stay!
The building, the setting, and the food. Also, the staff was excellent in every regard. The price... but that may just be the UK.
Room was very nice and comfortable and I liked that it had a bath and not just a shower after a long day's walking in the hills. Food (dinner and breakfast next morning) was also very good. Staff also allowed me to stay on in residents lounge after I'd checked out whilst waiting on transport. No staff at reception when I arrived and although a sign directing people to bar if no one at reception, no one was in a particular hurry to get me checked in. Minor though compared to relief at reaching destination and service thereafter was good.
Lack of choice on the menu - only really expensive dishes that might not appeal to those with a bit less money. How about having a bar menu of more traditional, straight forward meals at lower prices?
comfortable and friendly
Friendly staff, great room (room 1), good food, sandwich making packed lunch service for walkers.
The food was well presented and good Scottish Fayre Only dislike was that the double room had no hot water in the morning which was a disappointment
plesant helpful staff, Good food , Good choice of food, Bedroom -tastefully decorated- bathroom excellent.
Friendly and welcoming staff, food was good, Superior double very comfortable and location was spot on as we were on route to Skye.
Very good service from staff. Excellent food. Nice modern comfortable room. None
the food was very good and the bar area friendly asked at reception for someone to come and check the tv because the reception was bad and nobody came
Hotel efficiently run,and staff very correct. Room clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast adequate, and evening meal excellent. Lovely views towards Ben nevis and the mountains. Rather a long walk from hotel reception/bar/restaurant to my bedroom. The weather was very windy during my stay, and as the windows in my room would not close tightly, the otherwise efficient central heating could not keep my room fully warm.
location was good, welcome excellent, hotel facilities very weloming and food good. TV had not been reprogrammed for digital. Only 2 stations available and no was of turning down the sound. Complained in morning and accept explanation about engineers not having completed work.
Warm, clean & leisure club attached
having leisure facilities to hand Hotel was a bit tired and rooms in need of redecoration and or upgrade.
Staff friendly and sauna and pool excellent some of bar food not cooked through
The new pool and spa centre was by far the best part of this hotel. Room was drab and dreary and slightly damp with no heating working. After complaining 3 times and offered a heater that never came we were given another room to stay in the second night which was far superior. This room in the Annex building changed our minds about the hotel and we would stay here again.
The Leisure faclilities
I enjoyed the pool and spa facilities. Rooms were clean and comfortable Toilet seat kept falling off and toilet paper was too awkward to reach. Long curtain covered radiator and heat was lost out of window
the view from our room was wonderful and the room itself was very clean and spacious. The location is beautiful and very quiet. The breakfast was also above average.
The whole atmosphere in the hotel was relaxing. The bar closed at 1am and the hotel porter had no people skills whatsoever. The rest of the staff in the hotel were so hellpful and friendly
Relaxed and friendly staff; lovely facilities; excellent food and easy and flexible ordering from the menu.
location, cleanliness midges!
the location, unbeatable and the staff were excellent, anything you asked them was dealt with cheerfully and professionally, pool and sauna excellent, will definitely stay again.
Very nice and large room, with excellent view
The swimming pool and sauna are of great quality. The view we had from our window - which opened onto the lochside - was excellent.
First up the view we had over the loch and mountains were spectacular. The rooms were not all that spacious but did the trick. The health spa facilities were adequate as were the breakfast, you ate what you wanted. The only compplaint from us was the bar prices & if you were paying full whack the evening meals, at £22.50 plus drinks it was over the top. Fortunately we landed on our feet with a £10pp off our 1st night for a meal which was very helpful and the 2nd night it was a set price £15 for an oriental buffet style meal. Had that not been the case we would have ate elsewhere. Free golf at the dragons tooth was an added bonus. See above
lovely views, could do with a makeover. however rooms where comfortable
Very good base for exploring the west coast.
Friendly staff, very comfortable room, exellent breakfast.
Friendly considerate staff. excellant service helpfull advice. No evening meal available.
Excellent hotel, very friendly and welcoming. Fantasti views over the loch. Great attention to detail and good value for money. We would stay here again. None
The traditional atmosphere , the views out over the loch , first class breakfast and the excellent rooms and welcoming nature of the owners. The log fire was a nice touch. Lovely big house but heating struggled a bit with the cold weather
The hospitality and comfort. Excellent breakfast and good local knowledge.
The location is stunning, right on a loch with amazing views over the water and onto the mountains. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and had breathtaking views. The hotel also has a whiskey bar, one of only 20 Whiskey Bars of Distinction in the whole world. Very impressive. Breakfast was lovely too!
A warm welcome and very comfortable stay. There's also an excellent lounge with a bar and fireplace.
The staff were very friendly and the room was spacious, clean and relaxing. we would definately go again.
Was a friendly accommodating place that knew how to make a hillwalkers stay top class. Good food, great accomodation and drying facilities no
excellent friendly hotel and the staff were more than happy to help out with anything
Its ideally located in Fort William, well appointed rooms and curteous staff. It was only for one night !
Convinient location, good room, polite staff. Booking process. I arrived to figure out that quote given by price-line is wrong and they booked only 2 people in the room in the hotel system - also in my confirmation kid was shown. Reception sorted this out - but aukward point.
Very clean, modern, excellent facilities, huge bed, warm, comfortable, great location to town. Liked everything
The room was clean and in good condition. The Brewers Fare was handy but extremely busy, even at breakfast. Get somebody to cut the grass and weed the shrubs and the whole place would be perfect.Good value accommodation.
Comfortable beds, ground floor room !, friendly staff, very nice breakfast One of my sons fell heavily in the shower bruising his side . The base of the bath was quite slippery in parts.
Clean well appointed room; very friendly and helpful staff; lovely location. Having to pay extra for breakfast and internet was irritating because the room wasn't cheap to start with.
Lovely comfortable room with super bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. Good to have children's beds made up for arrival. Housekeeping of a very high standard. Reception friendly and helpful, especially Betty. Have stayed before and would definitely return.
What we liked about our hotel was it was friendly clean and close to the railway and bus station I thought there would be more space for putting clothes, also the rain
Efficient, clean, comfortable and well located Unable to eat in restaurant due to being fully booked. Breakfast not till 8 on sat as most people were walkers that wanted a early start this was too late for a sat.
we enjoyed the warm friendly welcome we received at the hotel which was spotlessly clean throughout also the adjoining restaurant which was also welcoming and good value for money. the self service breakfast buffet was not available due to a fault with the hotplate.
the staff wer very helpfull & pleasent,it was veary cozzy, the meals veary good
Ambience and proximity to interesting features, Neptune's Gateway.
The location and the friendliness of the staff It feels slightly old fashioned and in need of updating
Friendly staff, pleasant surroundings. Good menu and reasonable prices. VG provision of toiletries. Only a couple of minor irritants. Room I had had dormer window, therefore no view and paper was peeling from wall below window. Room 6.
the weather and the company. rooms not worth the money;have been in a lot better, the shower was very underpowered very poor
warm welcome, relaxed feel to place, good breakfast shower not going to win any prizes, mattress a little uncomfortable
The hotel was excellent and the food was fresh, well cooked and could be recommended to anyone.
Fabulous location Nothing
staff very helpful. rooms were spotless.
Friendly staff ; good food and prompt service
