The location of the hotel is excellent. It is right in the little downtown and you can walk easily to everything around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is so accessable being in the hotel. Nice to have an elevator especially traveling with an elderly person and lots of luggage. The one thing we had trouble with was parking. There was a conference going on and we had to park farther away than we liked. They should have some spots reserved for hotel guests only. Also, it would have been nice to have some options on the menu with a bit lighter food choices.
Central position, quiet pedestrian area. Good restaurant and good breakfasts
Very new and clean place. The breakfast was sufficient.
A relaxing and informal atmosphere. Ideal base for hiking trips around the Black Forest, Konus Card a huge Bonus !
Hotel was really nice, small and cosy. The room was big and we had nice view from a balcony. (Some had only a common terace.) I didn't think that the service was the best thing there. We got everything but let's say "with german efficiency" and it left us little cold. The breakfast was ok and you got your stomach full, but I have had better one with that price...
i liked the location, close to Friburg. i didn't like the reception, the smell in the hotel.
Family atmosphere in a relaxed environment. Beautiful rooms, each with its own personality. The renovation is just the right mix of old German country barn with new modern materials. A great eclectic mix kept very simple. It really is a unique place. The breakfast and restaurant are absolutely fantastic. None.
Excellent location and easy to find. The hotel staff were very helpful. One of our party has special dietary needs and this was no problem. A free computer is available in reception with printer and access to the internet No
Location was perfect for skiing, hospitality of staff was outstanding, No bad points
We loved the beautiful setting of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff & the excellent breakfast offered. It was the best hotel we stayed at during our 3 weeks in various parts of Europe
Good service and food that to me is what counts. Needs better reading light in the room.
Location - once we managed to sort out the clarify the potential for walks(away from the road) Front desk staff initially were of NO help at all with advice for walks in the Black Forest...didn't even know about the wanderweg map. Did have the feel of being a tourist bus and care centred through way...which did not match our train, walking approach to travel
The wonderful fresh air of the Southern Black Forest, the running water of the waterfall and the peacefulness all at the hotel. Beds were very comfortable but as is common in Germany the double bed is split into two for "individual comfort". It is what one would expect in a traditional Black Forest country hotel. Meals times were not clearly marked and we feel they should be prominently displayed say on the bedroom door, especially Breakfast which we nearly missed because of a misunderstanding but the hotel staff allowed us extra time! Don't care for brown decor and dim lighting in the bedroom.
Beautiful area. Very relaxing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Many (all?) rooms have a little balcony. Nice walks/hikes can be done from just outside the hotel. A little far from a train station or the Titisee, but if you have a car this isn't a problem.
The authentic Black Forest style, the cozy atmosphere, the excellent and caring staff.
A charming and historic roadside Inn (Marie Antoinette is said to have stayed here). The hotel extends away from the road which is not obtrusive; charming ambience; the scenery and walks roundabout are lovely; food good; service pleasant; our room was large, almost a suite. There is even a tiny and beautiful c 1500 chapel in the grounds; and the tiny local train station (some free travel for guests) is 2 mins away. We would come again. It is possible that some rooms may be affected by road noise -- ours was not.
The location is excellent for trips to Freiburg and the surrounding mountains and lakes. The guest pass which is included in the price allows free travel on all trains and busses within the entire county, and the train station is just outside the hotel with trains every half hour. The train takes about 15 min to Freiburg central. Food is very good as well. The building is right next to a very frequented road, but this is not really a problem and the building itself is quiet.
Something particularly special about this place - the staff couldn't do enough for you - the room was simple but lovely. Excellent value for money. Free rail pass into Freiburg or to Titisee was a bonus - station on the doorstep but no noise. A real gem.
nice family hotel, nice family room
Friendly staff, nice view
Rural and authentic atmosphere, excellent restaurant
The vilage and the enviroment not the hotel Contrary to your descriptition there is not a swimming pool and the wi- fi didin't work
I loved the views, the close proximety to the city center and old chapel.
Location and staff were very helpful
The staff were great, the location was very pretty My non smoking room had a very very very strong cigarette smell. I had to sleep with the window open just to feel comfortable.
Very good position in a picturesque village near to Freiburg and Basel. Owner and staff very welcoming and friendly. Easy free parking near to the hotel. Spacious and clean room with a nice view on the countryside. Last but not least the restaurant which propose a nice traditional regional food.
The staff were very professional, friendly and relaxed at the same time. The hotel restaurant/café is also of a very high standard and offers a very wide selection for all tastes.
Fabulous location and friendly staff..Great family hotel
Nothing to complain about.
The staff are very friendly. Breakfast was good.
nice hotel in the country side, very friendly hostess internet worked only outside the room. food in the restaurant wasn't as good as expected
loved the friendly, profesional staff, as well as the on-site restaurant providing excellent meals. no
Had a lovely room in this quiet village in the Black Forest region of Germany. Great hub for taking day trips by car, bus, bike or for hiking in the area. They have a restaurant available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owner and resident chef prepares wonderful traditional German food with that extra flair. Try his homemade ice cream and desserts for an extra treat. Be aware that the few shops in the village are closed on Tuesdays.
Rooms are comfortable and clean. The landlady also run a restaurant that is very good value for money: we enjoyed delicious local dishes.l
Peter the hotel manager is exceedingly helpful. He gave wrote out a wonderful walk across the mountains in the Black Forest which included a train and bus journey (which were both free as he gave us a pass for the time we spent there). The chef was wonderfully patient with our terrible German. He cooking was second to none. Apparently his restaurant is in the top ten in Freiburg and I do not doubt this for a moment. The room was beautifully laid out and we have a wonderful and memorable time. You would have to be very picky to have issues with this hotel.
Beautiful surroundings, wonderful location, clean and spacious rooms, excellent food and drink, fine service. A great place to stay. Very hospitable indeed.
A very cosy hotel not far from Freiburg. Good for "nature holidays". Free parking, tasty breakfast. A very limited number of TV channels /only German channels
