Breakfast was nice, as was service.
General accommodations were very minimalist - no tv in room, shower 'area' open to all of bathroom, and the finishes were shoddy. Chipping paint, cheap construction. Overpriced.
Fosshotel Nupar is a beautiful hotel located on some of the most gorgeous land Iceland has to offer. This is an extremely popular hotel thanks to its proximity to some of the countries most famous natural wonders. The hotel itself is surrounded by Icelandic lava fields, and the rooms have a stunning view of Vatnajökull, the largest iceberg outside of the Arctic. Guests can also travel to some of the nearby mountains, craters, glacial lagoons and Skaftafell National Park.
In all there are 99 rooms at Fosshotel Nupar. Visitors can choose from several different layouts, depending on how many people they are traveling with, there are single, double, and triple rooms. Each of these come furnished with HDTV, coffee station, and modern bathroom.
Besides the incredible scenery, the biggest daw to Fosshotel Nupar is the on-site restaurant. This romantic restuarant has a menu that is made up almost entirely of delicious local cuisine that is as beautiful as it is delicious. Some of he highlights that diners can enjoy is a pan fried Arctic char, pork tenderloin with beetroot, smoked mackerel, and a lamb soup served with freshly baked bread. Depending on the time of year, guests can enjoy a sunset meal or a unique dining experience where the sun is still in the sky well into the “night”.
