Pros: We were here two nights and this was, finally, a hotel that actually let you reuse your towels if you wanted. For most people this is not a big deal, but I find it frustrating that they all have that little sign about reusing towels and then they completely ignore the fact that the towels are hung up and change them all. The staff was very friendly and the scenery was beautiful.
Cons: We could hear some noises from the neighboring rooms, but it wan't horrible. One morning there was no water pressure for us to shower- presumably because the large group that was there was all showering to leave at the same time. It was not a problem for us because our schedule was flexible, but I can see that causing some stress if you really need to shower at that moment.
Hótel Geirland is 1.9 miles off the Route 1 Ring Road and 3 minutes’ drive from Kirkjubæjarklaustur village. All rooms offer tea/coffee facilities and views of the surrounding mountain ridge. Some of Geirland’s cosy rooms are set in individual cottages in the garden. Free Wi-Fi and a TV are available in the main building. During warmer weather, breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace. The restaurant and bar provide other meal options. Lunch packs can be made on request. Skaftafell National Park is 60 minutes’ drive from Geirland Hótel. Staff can arrange trips to the isolated highland lake, Langisjór. Fishing licenses for the Geirlandsá River can be bought at the hotel.

Cons: General accommodations were very minimalist - no tv in room, shower 'area' open to all of bathroom, and the finishes were shoddy. Chipping paint, cheap construction. Overpriced.

Pros: The facility was very clean. It's the best deal I've found in Iceland for as much as I got. A private room, a private bathroom, nice views, nice lounge and a great breakfast. The wifi was very bad! Access to hot tub was nice.
Cons: Their wifi is very bad, as everyone else mentioned. It was great when just one person was using it but if more than 1 person used it, it would basically disconnect.
