Pros: The area was amazing around maskeliya, even from our balcony it was stunning. Don’t worry about the safe I can recommended 100%. You can ask transport from the guest house the host always help you. Nature lovers should stay here we recommended this guest house.
Cons: nop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. It was one of the cleanest room we had been in Sri Lanka. The owner was very kind, helpfull, je also arrange tuktuk driver to Adams peak for very good price. Meals were so tasty, also tea. They have menu, so you can choose what you want.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was one of the best guest houses we stayed at during our 3 week Sri Lanka trip. The place was meticulously clean with a nice sized balcony overlooking tea fields and large windows letting in lots of light. We required laundry service which was done right away for us when we arrived and even provided with a drying rack as we prefer to air dry. The entire family is lovely and works tirelessly to maintain the property and service their guests, there was always someone available when we needed something or had questions about the area. We also enjoyed several meals here which were delicious, fresh, home cooked and also some of our first without the MSG that we noticed all too often being added to our food. We were also provided with several reasonably priced tuk tuk rides to/from Adams Peak at 1am (after building a wall ALL day in the heat the day before) and also to the railway station in Hatton. We can't say enough good things about this family and property, it truly was an amazing and peaceful stay for us. Value for money here is 10/10 and I would recommend anyone to stay here.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice owners / staff. The place is tucked away, nice a quiet with a lovely view. Big bonus for us was that it was super easy to get to Adams peak from the guest house, but the guest house itself is not in the tourist hub bub, which was awesome. A unique combo of 1) super clean nice guest house 2) easy access to what you’re there for (Adams peak) 3) authentic real Sri Lanka town with virtually no other foreigners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First we wanna thank the owner because we arrived very late in the night, he arranged us dinner at the moment and it was very delicious. The guest house is very clean and quiet, we sleep very well, we start adams peak climbing around 2 am in the morning. Owner help us to arrange tuk tuk, after when we back to guest house we had the breakfast it was amazing. Specially the fresh mix fruits juice
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room is spacious and very clean. Wide bed is really comfortable and warm blanket is helpful at night. I can use hot water whenever I want. Sri Lankan breakfast served warmly is very delicious. There's nothing special around the house but very easy to access to supermarkets and bus stop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All facilities were good
Cons: All things ok
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing, they could arrange you everything directly - way to Adam´s Peak, sightseeing tour arround by tuk tuk, in this area you can find a lot of beautiful platations, beautiful nature, mountains, waterfalls and lovely local people, just few steps is a little city street with lot of shops with fresh fruits, supermarket, pharmacy and also one bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host and his family are really nice. The room is spotless and the food they cook you as well. The lake and waterfalls are great, but the little village doesn’t have anything (no restaurants for example) so only stay here for close access to Adam’s peak. We had our own tuk tuk and drove about 35 minutes at 2 am, but the roads where fine!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The house is located at the top of a reasonably steep driveway, which means it has a fantastic view over the valley. All the rooms have a balcony or outdoor area where it is peaceful to sit and relax. Watching the sunrise in the morning from your bed is pretty magical. The owners of the property are super friendly with lots of good suggestions and they are also great cooks!
Cons: The bathroom could have been a little cleaner but it was still very functional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really welcoming family, lovely views and best food we've had so far! Thank you!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It felt like a homestay with everyone in the family making us feel very welcome. The kids had great fun playing with the children
Cons: Dickoya is some what out of the way and probably not on most people’s itinerary
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family who run the hotel are wonderful - they made our trip to Hatton. Both dinner and breaksfast were delicious - the best food we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka so far. They organised our trip to Adams Peak and made us a sandwhich to eat when we reached the top! They picked us up and dropped us back at the station free of charge. They are always smiling and happy to help. They are the perfect example of Sri Lankan hospitality. We highly recommend staying here.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff - rented us a scooter, organized night trip to Adam’s peak, even prepared some sandwiches. Decoya as the city is not very nice, so if you want a place to stay while travelling to Adams peak or Aberdeen waterfalls (just amazing), this is your best bet.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality of the owner and his wife.. Had a nice stay..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a catch. It might not be super new or fancy but its all clean and the owner will make sure u feel like staying at home. The owner is a whole chapter to write. To make it short she is the best owner, cook, guide, help, friend. She is so wonderful and you would love her food and her extreme general hospitality focusing every detail. It would be a long list. We loved this place and ate only at the property.

Pros: This was a very memorable stay. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka. The staff were very professional, and the family gracious and hospitable. The visit to the tea factory was a real highlight, as was the hike around the tea fields. Brownie the dog often accompanies you on walks around the property, and is the best.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic and authentic place to stay when visiting Sri Lanka’s tea country. The bungalow is beautiful and in fantastic condition right in the middle of a working tea plantation. The owner and staff are all incredibly friendly and made us feel as if we were staying with old friends. The tour around the tea field is a great experience and much more authentic than other tours of the area. We would definitely recommend staying here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place is simply amazing in regards to the view to the plantation the river really worth visiting and enjoy the sound of the water and the birds very early in the morning The yard in front with the golf equipment definitely an other nice touch. The staff and the guided tour to the tea factory very friendly
Cons: The shared toilet should be mentioned as the only negative point but to me any interference to this amazing place would spoil it
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The setting was beautiful in the tea hills. Quiet and remote. The food prepared onsite was excellent.
Cons: I didn't know that I needed to ask for tea to be served. Just needed to ask and it was delicious.

Pros: Tea factory visit, tea tasting. Lovely people and delicious meals at the bungalow.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: beautiful bungalow in middle of tea plantation. lovely owner and great staff
Cons: nothing lovely stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was made in their own kitchen . We had hoppers as we requested . A good thing we requested for lunch , as it would been a drive out to a eating place . Lunch was great , very homemade style and hospitality. The house keeper took us around the neighborhood and to the tea factory . We enjoyed conversations with him , as we spoke his language too. The rooms and the rest of the bungalow are very well maintained, with attention to details ,
Cons: Important to specify if bedrooms come with attached bathrooms on the website information . They have two rooms with attached bathrooms . The other two rooms do not have attached bathrooms. "Private Bathroom'' is not clear, we thought this meant an attached bathroom. The host was very accommodating and offered us the other options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a special place to stay -- beautiful views of tea fields and a small river, excellent food (order in when you arrive so the cook can prepare your dinner and breakfast), and a historic, homey bungalow that feels like you are staying with friends. Special thanks to Tony for the personal welcome. Be sure to visit the tea factory and walk through the tea fields to Rozella train station or to the Zesta tea rest stop on the main road.
7.0 Good
Pros: Food and the location is very good
Cons: Bathroom is not attached to the room, water pressure issue

Immaculately clean and comfortably furnished - this is really a delightful place to stay. We were lucky to receive the balcony room with the view! But if this room is not available for you, the terrace is the place to just absorb the vista, birdsong and the surrounding nature.

Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at the Farm Resorts, we had an amazing room and then were even upgraded to a fantastic room with a view of the lake. Justin and the other staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful - they even organised a romantic candlelit dinner for my partner and I on our last night. They helped us to organise our hike to Adam’s Peak and a tea factory tour and we loved sitting out by the fire every evening. The food was also delicious and very reasonably priced. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka!
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was probably the best out of all 6 of the hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka. Justin was also very good at looking after us, he even went out his way to wake up at 2 am to make sure we were up and ready to climb Adam's Peak. Thanks :)
Cons: We had to get the bathroom window vent covered up to stop midges coming in when the bathroom light goes on. They covered it up with a towel which helped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great, from the warm welcome to the quality of the resort & food at the restaurant. Very quiet place with an incredible view. Ideal for a restful stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I’d have to say this was the most beautiful place I stayed in Sri Lanka! The scenery is just incredible! The hosts made us feel at home and were great! Food is great, most of which is made from their own gardens which they were kind enough to show us round! They even made us a sandwich to take on the 4hr train to Ella the next day! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in Hatton!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well located if you want to climb the Adam's peak.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was outstanding. We were the only customers because it is off-season to visit Adam 's Peak in June, but also due to the attacks in general we did not see many tourists. Every demand was taken care with a big smile. The family owning the business but also the staff were extremely helpful and you see that it is sincere. On the first night we were invited at Madu's House and his mother cooked for us. It was lovely! I think if you are visiting this place it is to climb Adam's Peak and you will be staying for 1-3 days. The guesthosue has all the facilities you require for such activity. Nights were very quiet and restful. Breakfast was delicious. Madu prepared Sri Lankan breakfast for us as well. If you want to feel like home, this is definitely the right place.
Cons: I accidentally looked underneath the bed (looking for something that fell down) and it was quite dusty. Electricity might go off for short periods of time. For us it was no problem at all.

Pros: We had a very nice and comfortable stay at the Queens Ark hotel. The rooms were very clean and generous. Nimal was a very nice and attentive host. He organized for us a driver to the railway station in Hatton and he even prepared a snack for the nightly hike to the Adam's Peak. We definitely recommend this accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitallity of staff, food and food! Some of the best cooking we have had in Sri Lanka. The guide associated with the hotel was also very good. Very good value for money.
Cons: Entrance way to place not inviting. However staff were incredibilly welcoming and friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super friendly and accommodating. Could not recommend Queensark enough. It has everything you need during your stay whilst climbing Adam’s Peak. The Dahl at dinner was the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was super sweet and friendly, he really wanted us to have a lovely stay. It was a short stay, because we only stayed there to do Adams peak, but we were surprised by how comfortable it was. The room was HUGE, just as the beds, and the bathroom was also really nice and clean.
Cons: WiFi was really bad.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and calm surrounding
Cons: Nothing to mention
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nimal was an amazing host who tried to fulfill all our wishes. To stay at his place felt very personal thanks to lots of great conversations we had with him and amazing food!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed there briefly, but the stay exceeded my expectations. The beds weren't large, they were huge and warm blankets were provided. I felt sorry that I couldn't stay longer in the bed, as we were heading to Adam's Peak at 2 am... The dinner on arrival was very good and granted the strength necessary for climbing all the stairs to the peak.... and the location is perfect - some 5-10 min to the starting point
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It doesn’t look like much from the outside and a bit hidden but it was super clean and great value for money. We had delicious dinner on the first night and a good hearty breakfast after our hike up Adams Peak. We were picked up from Hatton train station, but we didn’t expect it, so that was a pleasant surprise. After the Easter Sunday bombing they gave us good advice and arranged a taxi for us to our next destination, to avoid the trains that day. Really helpful!

Pros: The people were really helpfull. They even let us check out later because we were quite tired after climbing Adams Peak. Food in the restaurant is delisious!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The rom are ok for one night.
Cons: If you want to go to the Adam's peak in the morning, you can take the bus at the train station which departs at about 02:00 AM. For 80 Rupis Beware of the taxi driver who tells you that the bus will drive later because the train is delayed. This story is lying and everyone knows it. The staff from the hostel also know it. The guests are cheated. The windows from the bathroom are very dirty, it is diterse at the train track and very loud
7.0 Good
Pros: I had accidentally booked for the wrong night - the staff were excellent at accommodating us by giving us a considerably more expensive (and expansive room). This room was huge, the biggest bed imaginable and a great view of the railway.
Cons: Bathroom had a leak coming through the light fitting in the ceiling. When we complained that this made sitting on the loo a rather wet experience they replied " Don't worry, it happens all the time"! They promised they had fixed it but all was wet again the following morning. Hardly any of the menu was available and with one exception service was also very poor.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location and facilities were great. Super close to the station. The interiors were nice and the staff was great, especially the door man!
Cons: It's amazing what a coat a paint could do for the bathrooms. Just sayin. Super overpriced for staying the dorms for what you get, at least include breakfast or free tea at that price. The dorm room was stuffy and too small for four people, felt so cramped.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here during the columbo bombing when a curfew was closed. The hotel still stayed open for us and looked after us so well. We can’t thank them enough for their generous hospitality.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is located less than 0.5k away - just exit the railroad station, turn left and then cross over the walkway - turn right.... Great place to get off the train and make a quick home. ***Bonus - the local bus leaves the train station at 1:30am to Adams peak - so great way to save money. Only 80 rupees. The train did arrive 1hr late, so the bus left 1hr late on the day I stayed. The hotel is really nice and the food looks great - the beds were nice too. I stayed in the dorm. Unfortunately, I arrived at 9pm, left at 1:20am and returned for check out as I did Adam's peak.
Cons: N/a
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is good for catching the train. The bed was huge and very comfortable! The shower was good after they fixed it. The best thing about this place though is a guy named Shiva who works there. He went out of his way to fix everything and make us comfortable. He even got us a fan for the room which was brilliant.
Cons: When we arrived straight from Adams Peak we wanted to take a shower. Unfortunately there were hardly any water coming out, and what did come out was ice cold! Apparently there was a problem with the water, they were fixing it and a few hours later they did. They ran out of pillow cases so we didn't have any on the pillows - couple of hours later they found some. No fan or air-conditioning in the room so it was quite hot. We got a room facing the road and it was busy in the daytime. Wifi not working.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The building is beautiful. The location is a 5 minute walk from the station. The biryani for dinner was tasty. The room (Hatton) was very large.
Cons: This was one of the most expensive places we stayed in two months in Sri Lanka. It was the most disappointing. We checked in to an unfriendly staff. There is one middle-aged man on the staff who is excellent, kind and friendly. But the two older men who are “managers” are incompetent. We went to our room after it took four people to check us in. The key wasn’t in the door. A window lock was broken so the window did not shut. There was no coffee maker as advertised. The pool table pockets in the common room is broken. It took 30 minutes to get the key (the kind man on staff brought it in with apologies). We laughed it off. We tried having dinner in the restaurant the first night. The rice and curry was cold, but okay, the biryani was good. The ice cream was the last of plain vanilla yogurt (not ice cream) and way overpriced. The breakfasts (which we paid more for) were terrible. The first morning I waited an hour and ended up with the worst coffee I’ve had in Sri Lanka, eight pieces of poorly toasted bread, and a single fried egg. Again, this took over an hour. I had to ask the manager what was included in breakfast, and he just asked what I wanted. The breakfast offered on the menu was not given. The second day was the same - four pieces of toast for two people, served with butter but no knives? Finally we got up and asked for omelettes since we had paid for breakfast through booking.com. No one ever came over to tell us what was on offer or take our order. We couldn’t check out to catch the train because none of the management seem to arrive until 9 AM. In the end we paid $81 for two nights with the worst service we’ve had in Sri Lanka, not as advertised on booking.com. Pass on this one.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Very noisy as was on a main road
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Looked really nice. Good breakfast
Cons: Put (classic english) music in the restaurant, to quiet ;) Only 2 bathrooms/shower rooms open.

Pros: It was the highlight of our trip in Sri Lanka. So far the best Homestay we’ve seen. Rukshan waited for us at the train station and took us to his home. We’ve had amazing lunch (his wife is an excellent cook) Then he drove us to Adam’s peak (amazing ride, he stopped everywhere we wanted to take a picture) and waited to take us back. Then again absolutely fabulous dinner from his wife. The room was super clean and nice, comfy bed, super clean shower... simply perfect. After delicious breakfast he drove us to the waterfalls and then to the train station. We enjoyed every minute of this stay! Rukshan and Nilu are absolutely amazing, charming and humble couple who do their best to make your stay special. I hope we will come back some day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were simply great! Owner picked us up from station and invited us for tea, even though we were staying with them as of next day only. They did everything to accommodate their guests. Both breakfast and dinner were absolutely amazing, a true feast (7! curries).
Cons: Nothing - it was simply a great homestay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay in this homestay! Super welcoming and lovely family! The papa us up at the trainstation, toured around in his tuktuk in this beautifull environment, we visited tea plantages, tea tasting at a teamuseum, teafactory and waterfalls. He brought us in the middle of the night to the start of Adams peak and climbed this holy mountain and watched the amazing sunrise. The food was super delicious and the mama learned us how to make some of these traditional dishes (try coconut sambal).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Simple small room but with nice shower/toilet. There is only one room in this guesthouse. A guy was waiting for us close to the train station and took us there, because it is a little bit complicated to get there. People are friendly. We had a good tea as a welcome drink and excellent breakfast in the morning. After the breakfast the guy took as by tuktuk to Nallathanniya for a quite good price for 30km and hilly roads.
Cons: Small room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host picked us up, gave us at our (late) arrival an amazing dessert from their New Year, brought us with a lot of pleasure to Adam’s Peak, the room was very clean and the breakfast was very nice! The host brought us for free to the bus/train station and gave recommendations about planning our route. Stutti!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were so lovely people and made our stay a experience of sri lankian hospitality. After talking a lot about each others cultures, we got home made lunch, that was just amazing. Ruki picked us up from the train and drove us to Adams Peak in the middle of the night. Even on the way back he stopped with us at great spots to enjoy amazing views. We literally felt like home. :) Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our favourite homestay in Sri Lanka. Beautiful room, with a comfy bed, great bathroom and outdoor seated area. You will be the only guests so it feels very intimate. The garden is gorgeous and a wonderful place to soak up some sun. The hospitality of the couple who run homeaway blew us away. We were driven to and from the station free of charge and had our transport to Adam’s peak arranged so it was completely hassle free. The breakfast was a definite highlight as it was cooked with so much love. We opted for traditional Sri Lankan breakfast but there are also more western options. On the last day Ruckshan drove us to the station so we could get a train to Kandy but when we were buying our tickets I realised I had left my raybans in the room. Ruckshan came back picked me up, took me back to the homestay where is wife was waiting with my glasses and then got me back to the station in time to make my train. So kind, can not recommend enough!
Cons: Having to leave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was local, good and rich. The couple who run this accommodation was nice and had done everything to make our stay comfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Picked up from train station and dropped at bus station. They drove me in a tuk tuk to climb Adams Peak. The food was great and plentiful. Hot water shower.
Cons: The room could do with a pedestal fan.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and lunch I had there was amazing. Had one of the best home made Sri Lankan food at this place. The hosts were friendly. The rooms was very clean. Recommend to stay here if staying at Hatton.

Overview
Relive the Raj at Ceylon Tea Trails' quartet of elegant boutique villas in lakeside Bogawantalawa Valley in the Hill Country. Each boasting a distinctive character – and we don’t mean the butler – these restored planters' bungalows befit a Somerset Maugham lifestyle, with timbered ceilings, panelled libraries, claw-foot baths and bay windows. Feast on tea-inspired cuisine and rustic views before exploring the surrounding tea estates, ravines and waterfalls. The early tea barons knew a thing or two about decadence but they never had it this good.

Pros: Since our arrival, Rimaz looked after us very well. He helped us organise our hike of Sri Pada in the night (highlight of our holiday), visit of Nuwara Eliya, train to Ella, and took us for a lovely walk around the tea plantations, tea plucking with the locals, amazing experience! He offered us a better room and we decided to stay an extra night since the place was so cosy. Best curry we have had in Sri Lanka, beautiful breakfast as well. Dilan and the rest of the staff were very nice and welcoming too. We can highly recommend staying there. Istouti!

Pros: The hostel is located a short walk outside the village center, so it's a really quiet and peaceful area next to the river! The owners are super super friendly! They speak english really good and always ask if you need something! And they can organize everything for you! We got a cheap transport with the father to the starting point to Adam's Peak, in the middle of the night! Also they drove us for free to to bus station the day after and we even could leave our backpacks in our room after check out, because after Adam's Peak we did some more hiking and came back later...no problem, we could even take a shower! The rooms are really big and clean with everything you need, and there is even a big table and chairs where you can sit and play cards, work on your computer, eat or just put a lot of stuff! They ask you if you want their homemade diner, and it was great! Super delicious, cheap and huge portions...long time ago that I got so much food on my plate during travels... The shower has hot water and the wifi works great! I could go on and on...So don't waste your time searching for more hostels! Sleep here!!! Thanks again for the nice stay we had!!!!
Cons: Nothing! Everything was great

Pros: Great guesthouse very clean, the room was perfect for us. And the family was so kind, they took us to Adam's peak at 4 even with the curfew issue. Thanks to them.

Pros: The whole family was super helpfull. Dinner and breakfest were delicious and drive to Adam's Peak was well organised and budget :) Also the location was good, because it was far away from city, so you were close to nature and locals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the family who owned the guest house is simply the best, very kind and helpful. The place is also very beautiful, close to Adam's Pick but also marvellous itself (ask for walking trip around the area to the staff). the property is very clean, and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was traditional, homemade and delicious. they are running this little, familiar business since few years, saving money and step by step. We loved to be part of this project and we recommend to stay there to everyone.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Really nice host mother. Very clean bathroom and sleeping room. Bus to Hatton directly in front of the house. Organized taxi to adams peak at 2 am for 1500Rs.

Pros: Perfect location for climbing adams peak. Was met off the bus by owner to help with our bags. Dinner was so nice that we extend our stay just to have another one. Breakfast was lovely and ready for us once we returned from our hike along with a hot drink. We were unlucky with the weather but still really enjoyed our stay. Family were lovely, very welcoming
Cons: Found the pillows very hard but this is not uncommon in Sri Lanka
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly family, great dinner and breakfast. Good localization

Pros: The nicest host family we had during our stay in Sri Lanka! The Mom even let us watch/help her prepare the dinner which was delicious!
Cons: There is nothing to complain about.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location is perfect for climbing Adams Peak. The people were very friendly and helpful and prepared food whenever needed.
Cons: The room felt a bit dirty and dated, found some cockroaches and several insects in the room. The towels provided were really worn down.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very kind madam host, which prepared for us delicious dinner. Breakfast was ready after return from Adams Peak.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A lovely homestay with a huge vegetable garden, where you have a great view at Adam's Peak itself! The hosts were very friendly and besides that amazing cooks! We literally had the best dinner here of entire Sri Lanka, made with fresh vegetables from their own garden!
Cons: The wifi was very slow, however for us not a big problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best place during my staying in Sri Lanka, and best food! We had best dinner in our trip!! She is a big cook!!! Everything super clean and the garden is amazing!! Super recommended!!
Cons: Everything was perfect!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge free breakfast. Good coffee. Hot shower in a uniquely tiled bathroom, perfect for after the trek. Knowledgeable hosts usually do the walk too! Good location to start the trek from. Great value for money
Cons: Dinner was expensive and there was too much food for 2 people, could have done with half the amount for half the cost.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The dinner and the breakfast was very nice but more expensive than we expected. Make sure to ask in advance.
Cons: The room was not as appears in the pictures! The bed was missing some bed sheets, we just had the blankets and the pillow covers were not fresh. We asked for towels and they gave us two hand towels, really old and with spots, so we asked for another towel. The bathroom was full of mosquitos and with low hot water pressure. The hosts did not seem so helpful. To us it seems they already got good score and they dont't care so much anymore about guests. Not good value for money!

Pros: Staff is really friendly and very clean rooms, delicious breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay! We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Jayaram and his family! They were celebrating his daughters birthday and invited us to enjoy some cake. It felt like we were instantly accepted into the family. The food at the guesthouse was delicious and very reasonable priced, cooked by Jayaram and his wife. The view on the balcony of Adam's Peak, the tea plantation and reservoir provide a view scenic and peaceful atmosphere. Although 2km (a very easy walk or tuk tuk ride) away from Adam's Peak and the more tourist area of Dalhousie, we preferred this location instead as it it is pushed away from the noise and more busier area of Dalhousie.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff at Supash went over and above to provide for us during our stay - I requested a surprise birthday cake for one of us and they organised an entire party!! The food was absolutely delicious too.
Cons: My bed was a bit uncomfortable, however the other bed in our room was perfectly comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful host. A bit further from Adam's Peak, about 10 minutes by tuktuk, but much better place to stay than Nallathaniya. Quiet, green, and nice view from the terrace. Also a small shop nextdoor. We really enjoyed our stay!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - Amazing, kind host family that went above and beyond to help us when we needed it! - Good food in the restaurant - Nice, comfortable room and bathroom - Beautiful rooftop with view of trees, tea plantation, lake - Good value
Cons: - We went to hike Adam’s Peak and it might’ve been easier to just get a hotel right near Adam’s Peak - Food took a while to prepare, try to order in advance
7.5 Good
Pros: Property was an economical option for us. Beds were basic with average mattresses and very old pillows. Linen was old but clean though only a bottom sheet was supplied with a blanket. Food was plentiful and cheap for lunch and dinner. The host family were attentive and helpful in organising tuk tuks as well as making tea for us to prepare for our 2.00am walk up Adams Peak
Cons: Old linen and especially pillows need to be replaced.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was helpful and the location is good - close to the start of the climb. The owner organised a tuk tuk for us for 2am to get to the base of the mountain, and also made sure we got on the correct bus to get to the train station.
Cons: Beds were hard, but if you're only sleeping for a few hours before climbing Adam's Peak, it's fine.
6.3 Good
Pros: - The surrounding are is nice. You can walk through the tea fields. - The food is good - The bathroom is clean - They have a terrace on top, with a nice view over the tea fields.
Cons: - The bedsheets don’t get changed or washed when there’s a new guest. - The owner is quite pushy when asking for a review: he asked us in person, his son asked us in person and then the owner sent us multiple messages the following two days after we left asking for a feedback. I finally blocked his phone number because it was getting creepy as half pf the messages were unintelligible and we couldn’t understand what else he wanted from us. - It’s quite far from Adam’s peak. - You can find something closer to Adam’s peak and cheaper.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jeyaren and his family were very welcoming. It all started with a free welcome-tea. The room with attached bathroom was big and clean. The food was very delicious and I could asked for a second round. Jeyaren also took me for a walk on the lake with some great views. The night was fine without any noises. I went to Adam‘s Peak the other morning at 2:30 am. Jeyaren was already awake and prepared me a coup of tea and a sandwich. He then drove me to the starting point and when I came back, he picked me up again. In the afternoon I did a tour with him and his son to 2 nice waterfalls. I really enjoyed my stay at Subash hotel and can recommend it for sure!
6.8 Good
Pros: Free transport to Adam’s peak. Even though we decided not to, the owner said we could stay beyond checkout after the climb. We were lent a torchlight for the climb. Mosquito nets and safe provided.
Cons: The rooms were very very damp which gave them a slightly funny smell. No free toiletries when it says they are provided. Food took a long time to come.

Cons: No heaters in rooms

Pros: perfect location, warm hosts, very nice room and great breakfast after the hike
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Right at the way climbing Adam's Peak. The facilities are good, staffs are friendly. Breakfast is included, after climbing Adam.
Cons: Not much, but we can't take a shower after climbing because there was no hot water, we havr to wait 1 hour for hot water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such nice people ‘
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is very good, just at the beginning of the peak, which I can tell you is pretty convenient (you don’t want to walk 5km after that climb...), room is big, bathroom too and hot water is really appreciated in this area. Staff is awesome too, big up to them thank you guys !
Cons: Wifi did not work at all and it misses some chairs/tables to chill outside !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great value! Really nice and spacious bedroom. Very close to the start of the hike. There's a small shop nearby to buy snacks also. The dinner was very good, as well as the breakfast (included). The staff was really nice. They lended us torches and booked a cab back for us. Shower with hot water, which was great after the hike.
Cons: WiFi didn't work!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent clean place if you want to walk to Adams Peak. Only 200 m to starting point. If you are not walking Adams Peak I would not go there.
Cons: No hot water.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff is very nice, smiling and helpfull! Our room was big, very clean, as the bathroom (with hotwater and great pressure). The food was excellent and generous. Parking just at the back of the hotel. Only 3 minutes walking till the starting point of Adam's Peak hike! We highly recommend this place.
Cons: Very little way of imrprovment (because otherwise everything was perfect!): we told them that in the future they could hang a little net on the small holes at the top of the windows, or a mosquito net on the bed, to avoid some mosquitos intrusion, but we are sure they will do it very shortly!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful
Cons: The shower was difficult to operate
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very nice and welcoming. They speak very good English and had a lot of tipps for us. Also we could use their flashlights for the hike up Adams Peak. The dinner and breakfast both were very yummy. The location is perfect for going up Adams Peak. Keep it the way it is :)
Cons: Nothing, everything was very good :)

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are amazing. Seems to be a family run business and the sister of the brother (owner) simply is a gem. She advises on the walk and where to go from etc. Really really helpful. The food cooked fresh is also a must.. really tasty! Only downside for me personally was that they dont sell cold water. All the bottles are lukewarm. They will provide ice if you ask.
Cons: Dangerous in the bathroom as no bath mat and the showers are like a wet room. Really slippy when you come out and then into the wooden flooring. Also NO air conditioning and no fan... I kept the curtains shut all day to try and keep the room cool. No fridge in your room to keep anything cool... such as water etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and room were amazing!
Cons: Nothing :)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Slightly Chilled was all we needed for a comfortable night's stay before climbing Adam's Peak. It is what you'd expect of somewhere out in the sticks with most guests only staying for one night i.e functional and certainly not luxurious! However, the staff were extremely helpful, breakfast and dinner were tasty and exceeded our expectations (we especially liked the surprise American pancake!) and the room was clean and spacious.
Cons: It is a bit shabby around the edges but no more so than what you'd expect for the price and location.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the service and the good food. Perfect base for hiking adams peak. Cute hostess
Cons: The hygiene in the badroom could be better.
7.5 Good
Pros: A comfortable stop over for climbing Adam's peak. The staff was very friendly and gave us great advice on how to prepare for our journey to Adam's peak. Breakfast was really good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and i were lucky to find such a comfortable and clean place to stay that is so close to Adams Peak. Mahi, the concierge was really welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic. She also gave us good advice in regards to things to do in the area. We decided to try the buffet dinner and we were not disappointed. There was a large variety of Sri Lankan cuisine that was so tasty. All the staff were so friendly.
Cons: I don't have any complaints
6.8 Good
Pros: The rooms were spacious, cool, and had a great view. The whole resort had great views. The front desk staff were nice. The dinner was reasonable, the breakfast was great (best scrambled eggs I've had in Sri Lanka). The warm shower that I had was perfect (but again, if I came back from that hike to cold water I can't imagine how upset I would be...)
Cons: The bathroom floor could have used a wipe down. The first day (after the hike) the shower was awesome - good pressure, warm, heavenly. But the next night they had less guests (and didn't do the buffet, for example). When we got up to leave early in the morning neither my friend nor I had ANY hot water. I am pretty sure they turned the heat off that night due to lack of guests. It was pretty irritating - I didn't ultimately have a full shower before a day of traveling because it was freezing- but I can say if that was what I came back to after the hike I would have been very upset. The nice shower is one of the main draws here. Finally, I am a woman who was staying in a room alone. The day after the hike a male employee knocked on my door and offered me a fresh roll of toilet paper. I took it and then he offered me a leg massage. I asked if that was something they offered at the resort (thinking maybe my friend and I would go get massages after lunch) but he was indicating to come into my room. I said no. Later my (male) friend was offered another roll of toilet paper... but no leg massage. It didn't really bother me, but wasn't professional.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good timeous food & tea. Friendly, helpful & communicative staff. Clean & tidy.
Cons: Toilet not practical
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were absolutely incredible! So friendly and the food was fantastic . Location was perfect for Adams Peak, with a guide provided by the hotel . Would highly recommend
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly and helpful. The meal was delicious and the view of Adams Peak was incredible. It was also close to the start of the hike to Adams Peak. It was really quiet too so we were able to sleep from 7pm to 1:30am when we got up to climb the mountain.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: No words can describe this place, it’s magical! The staff couldn’t have been more friendly, the view sensational and the rooms super comfortable 5*
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic estate, remaining in the hands of the same family over a centure. Great atmosphere, river humming loudly just over the window, very green place. Definitaly the place to go in Kitulgala:)
Cons: The place is just awesome. You might however find it troubling to fall asleep - which we did not - as the river rumbles quite strongly. Hot water did not work during our stay - we missed that after a very exciting white water rafting near by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and food were all excellent
7.5 Good
Pros: The views are superb over the river. You fall asleep to the sound of the roaring river. The staff are friendly, if often lacking in any English. By the low standards of the area the food was good and plentiful.
Cons: The accommodation is comfortable, but basic. The bathroom and room was clean, but the room was not cleaned during our stay and the shower was always either cold or scalding. Paying was farcical and took over an hour.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic overlooking the river. The rooms were lovely, mozzie nets already set up, the only downside was the shower. Cold and the bathroom was a bit basic but overall the room was lovely. The restaurant was quiet but served amazing rice and curry. The owner is very friendly and gave a personal tour of the cinnamon factory. Great rafting trip for beginners and zip lining was fun. Just make sure you wear shoes as we had lots of leeches, especially between the toes
Cons: Bathroom was dark and the shower was slow and cold.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Surprising location. The rooms open directly on the river which makes for an extraordinary experience. Worth trying! Nice restaurant area.
Cons: Hotel does not accept credit cards. There is however an ATM right next door. Most expensive beer we had during 3 weeks of travelling Sri Lanka.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms with open sides, fall asleep to the sound of the river’s torrent. Peaceful, green place, had an African safari vibe.
Cons: Concrete floors in rooms, a big rug or carpet would’ve made a big difference
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are situated directly at the river and have an open air ‘window’ to experience the river 24/7. Loved our stay at this special place. Even though the rafting organised by the hotel was more expensive than other offers it was a great experience. The boat ended up directly at the hotel, wich was incredible. There is also an old colonial style house on the premisses wich is occupied by the owners family. Our tour / visit felt like time travelling. What an extraordinary place.
Cons: It rained a lot that day! Never experienced So much rain for such a long period in my life. But the accomodation can not do anything about that ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner very accommodating and happy to book activities/ transport with no worries Perfect location to do rafting- we felt really safe the whole time Rooms were incredible overlooking the river- very clean and well kept also Amazing home made meals- best we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far!
Cons: We wouldn’t recommend zip lining- although the zip line across was fun we then had to walk back across 3/4 of the river which we were not informed of so did not wear proper attire/ footwear. Seemed like a lot of effort back for a small amount of pleasure.

Pros: The hosts are kind and welcoming. They run a shop that was open when we left for the hike at 2am so we could get water. The location is a 5 minute walk from the base of the peak. The resturant had delicious food that prepared us and helped us recover.

Cons: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great family. Very helpful, we arrived late and they were waiting out front for us as its located above a little shop and restaurant (which is very handy if you're doing Adams peak) and can be hard to find at night. But very close to start of Adams peak great bed and clean room + warm shower! Would stay again
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was great, really comfy with mosquito nets. The place looks a little dingy from the outside but actually is much better on the inside. Staff are so lovely, bathroom a tad smelly but the room was great. Perfect for one night if you’re doing Adam’s Peak!

Pros: Very cheap option to organize Adam's peak climbing by night. Host is very friendly and arranged us a car to Dalhousie. The house seems a bit old but it is comfortable. The breakfast was a relief after the climbing !

8.3 Excellent
Pros: This guest house is a fine place to stay. the hosts, an older couple are very easy going and helpfull. All the questions we had about climbing the Adam's Peak and using the public busses where answered by them. And when we had problems with the wifi we could use the wifi of their private house and we came back from the Adam's peak a nice breakfast was waiting for us! all in all, a really good place to stay when you want to see thea plantations (in walking distance) or climb the Adam's peak!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We only stayed one night in Hatton to climb Adam's Peak early in the morning. For that purpose the guesthouse was perfect! The owner and his family are lovely. they organised a very nice driver for us who brought us to Adam's Peak at 2am in the morning and waited for us until we came back down. When we came back to the guesthouse the breakfast was already served and after a shower we enjoyed the great home cooked breakfast! After that the driver also brought us to Nuwara Eliya which was very convenient after those 5000 steps... The house and the room are quite old but clean and our room even had a nice balcony. For that prize we would always choose Duke's Nose again!
Cons: The room and bathroom we had could use a little renovating. But for one night in Hatton it is no problem!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very helpful. He arranged a driver to bring us to Adam’s Peak in the middle of the night, gave us a little hiking route for the city and recommended some restaurants. When we came back from our hike, he prepared a delicious local breakfast for us (included in the price). He even let us check out a bit later so we could still have a nap after only sleeping for 3 hours. It was easy and fast to walk from the trainstation.
Cons: The wifi was not strong in our room but we could use it downstairs in comfortable seats.
