Seaside home

We booked this hotel because of the great reviews of the owner. Unfortunately she was somewhere else, but even then she made sure everything was perfect for us. She helped us book a boat/snorkeling trip with one of the local fisherman which was perfect. It's a private tour and the people are extremely friendly. They have a cool bar just next to the pension.

It's not the fault of the owner, but we stayed there for three nights and the electricity went out on the entire island on two different days (just for a couple of hours).

Very nice location on Koh Mook, friendly owner. Nice balcony and sea view. Air co and fridge in the room.

Room is a bit small: no space and no cupboard/shelf to even empty your suitcase (had to keep all clothes inside suitcase on the floor), barely enough room to walk around the bed when a couple of suitcases are there! Bathroom is very basic with little water pressure and the wall doesn't even go all the way up so you can hear and even see what's going on from the tiny room. It's also very smelly (mold and/or sewage) so everytime we came in the room we were a bit shocked by the smell but then got used to it. We found a big cockroach in the shower one night. The fridge is half full of solid ice which could be solved by unplugging it for 1 day and cleaning it... Shows a lack of care and maintenance. A bit pricey for the amenities you get but I guess it's the price to stay on cosy Koh Mook. You'll find much cheaper and better on Koh Lanta but it's a busier island.
