9.3 Excellent (208 reviews)

A 5-minute walk from Charlie Beach, one of the nicest beach in Ko Mook, Nature Hill offers a good spot of nature and relaxing atmosphere. It is surrounded by the lush hills. Free WiFi is available. The accommodation is equipped with a fan, a balcony with seating and a private bathroom with a shower. Nature Hill's staff can assist guests with local information and activities. Bike rental services, transfers and boat trips can also be arranged. Restaurants can be found within a short walk. The area is popular for snorkelling and diving. The nearest airport on the mainland is Trang Airport.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great bungalow and very helpful and relaxed host. We got a true island feeling staying at Nature Hill. The location is perfect. Just a couple 100 meters away from beautiful Charlie Beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect! Staff was friendly and they even invited us for dinner.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went in the low season, and it was the definition of "peaceful". You really are in the midst of nature, within a short distance to the beach, and steps away from the Hilltop Restaurant, which is amazing. We slept more during our three-night stay than I think we usually do in a week at home. We cannot wait to return!
Cons: Just an observation about the design - if you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, remember there is a step down towards the bathroom. We ended up putting one of the bathmats on the top of the step and one at the bottom to remind ourselves... other than that, the bungalows are well designed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's the best place to enjoy nature and greenery. The staffs / owners were really friendly! Surely will go back to this place during the peak season =)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Su made us feel welcome and helped us plan our trips. Most simple and delicious breakfast of our holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When we arrived we weren't sure if we would like the place, (we thought the host didn't like us, but I think he was maybe a little bit shy) BUT in the end we extended our stay for two more nights, because we loved it so much! Sue and his husband and their cute son Hugo made us feel home and welcomed. The bungalows were sooooo pretty, the bathroom is a dream come true and the balcony and the view towards the jungle is amazing. The breakfast was perfect: huge portions with fresh fruits and great coffee as well - and you have to try the pancakes, they are delicious! The hosts gave us great recommendations where to have dinner - you should definitely try the "Hill top restaurant": the food was so good! I am already missing it. The beach is not far away, just a few minutes walk and you are at the "Charlie beach" with white sand, crystal-clear water and amazing sunsets. We always stayed at the "Mong bar", there you can have nice drinks and get the umbrellas and sun loungers for free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice people!!!!!
Cons: Nothing!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay at Nature Hill which almost had a terapeutic effect on us. In the heart of nature you are 5 mins away from a great beach with good chill vibe bars while you can still taste a lot of local flavour if you visit the village on the other side of the island. The wooden bungalows were made with care and attention for every detail while the staff was very welcoming and really made us feel like at home. Breakfast was delicious too and they can arrange all sort of things for you ( massage, cave trip, kayaking, snorkeling , boat transfer, etc) with really good recommendations. Their hospitality was truly outstanding. Nature hill resonates perfectly with the feeling of the island, both the place and the sweet couple running it. Looking forward to going back in a few years and wish the owners best of luck!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bungalows in a quiet, natural surrounding.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bungalow was top quality. The beds were very confortable. The location is close to the beach and the owners make you feel like if we were at home. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit the island

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this place are amazing , they are super friendly and will do anything to help you and answer any questions you have. The food is also very nice and super easy to arrange tours. I generally loved the ambiance in this place and the people running it.
Cons: Not Hotel fault because its an island , we got a coach-roach at night but it was sorted out swiftly by staff. The rooms could be bigger also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly friendly service and a beautifully designed resort. We had the bungalow that looks a bit like a shed in the pictures and it was superb! Amazing balcony pool, such comfy beds and beautifully appointed. The on site restaurant serves the usual island mix of Thai and westernn the pizzas are a real highlight. Can't recommend this place enough.
Cons: Nothing, it was incredible
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This resort is very beautiful, and the boss is very friendly, they also got free transportation service on the island, and the restaurant's food is delicious, the staff in this resort are very passionate. Everything is perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Pool Villa for 5 nights and did not regret, Rooms and facilities beautiful but whats the best is the friendliness of all the people working at Mook Lamai. Breakfast is very good, you can have as much as you can eat from the menu (I recommend the Banana-Pancakes, yummy) and we had Dinner as well 2-3 times which was very good as well. We rented a scooter but they also have taxi transfer without any costs during the day. Take a private Longtail Boat Trip ( booked through Mook Lamai) to Koh Kradan, very beautiful. Would definitely return.
Cons: Beware of the sandflies on the beach :-(
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such an incredible place to stay. From the first to the very last minute of our stay, they provided a consistent level of attentive, caring service. Sooooo glad we stayed a week here and just took day trips to other places. The people, the place, the pool, all perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved it! Had a room with pool access and we enjoyed it a lot. The pool was very clean. The resort is located in beautiful nature. Protected of wind which is not the case for the resorts by the sea and it was windy during our stay. A free driving service brings you from A to B. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved lamai mook! Fantastic rooms and bathrooms. Enough space for two kids in the bedroom. Location is clean and big. The hotel manager tid is great
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good personal! Hi, Mr, Tid!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a lovely small resort that by far exceeded my expectations. The room was very clean and had a super comfortable bed, the staff was attentive and very friendly, and the restaurant served delicious food, including an astonishingly good pizza.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really comfortable bedroom and bathroom - great shower. Breakfast - a reasonable selection. Very nice swimming pool. Brilliant taxi service to the beaches. Only a 10 minute walk into the village.
Cons: We chose to walk into the village for evening meals near a bar so can’t comment on the restaurant. It’s in a very nice smart modern setting but if you don’t want to be around children this may not be the place for you.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Sivilai Resort is just a beautiful Hotel, Perfect in the low Season to calm down.
Cons: Great view out of the beach Bungalows if there wouldn’t be bedbugs ! We stayed 3 nights and starting from the second night they bite me in typical bedbug streets all over my right side of my body (sleeping on the right side) the hotel not even apologized once and just came up with excuses like these bites are sand flys and there is no blood in the bed...etc. but yes there was blood in the bed and we even took a picture of a bedbug in our bed. So be aware of the tropical Paradies with the bed bugs - only antihistamine and Cortisone helps to stop the itching as the doctor on koh Mook told me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beach front , clean and quiet!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be better. Breakfast was standard. As a Dutchman I like good bread and cheese for breakfast, which was not available as usual in Thailand.
Cons: There were many dogs in the resort. They gathered near our bungalow at night and started barking and fighting. The resort should remove these animals. We had a family bungalow for three persons but chairs and loungers were available in twofold only.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: How this resort is only a 3 star baffles me - its at least a 4 if not more! Quite possibly the nicest place we’ve stayed in Thailand! The location is amazing on such a gorgeous beach of powdery white sand. Situated near a small fishing village with great little restaurants and bars. The bungalows are lovely and big, all with views of the sea. You can’t choose a bad one! The staff were so happy and helpful. This is why Thailand is called the land of smiles. The service was second to none! And the food! Such a great selection at breakfast with something for everyone. The hotel restaurant also serves great food throughout the day. We can’t wait to go back again!
Cons: Nothing! Everything was perfect!
7.0 Good
Pros: Recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Koh Mook, Peaceful and beautiful landscape. reasonable price than expected. The staff upgrade our room without charge fee. Breakfast was good only for weekend.
Cons: it's not good choice for elder because the cart can use only check-in and check out time. some rooms are a bit far from dining room. It's not convenience to walk during day time (too hot). also, during we walked back to room, some one who drove the cart almost crash our group because of small road. it might be better if he say sorry us before he left but not.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in between two beaches with stunning views, all bungalows have views to the sea. Beach restaurant with views, nice pools, possibility to have massage and rent kayaks and bikes
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beach with cleanness room. Very nice staff who try to offer everything that you desire.
Cons: Toilet room has a large window with shortened curtain which is no private.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can't beat the location. It is simply stunning! The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and well appointed. Breakfast buffet is great. The restaurant is good, good hygiene, and food is served quickly although is on the expensive side. There are two pools at either end of the resort which was great as the resort is quite large. Good resort for families and for young children.
Cons: Nothing that the resort could do but the tide goes out in the afternoon and the idyllic crystal clear sea disappears with it. There were a few sandflies in the afternoon. Not sure the reason but the swimming pools seemed to make our swimming shorts/costumes go green in colour

Overview Reviews

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Host Yai is very friendly, Drove us to the Beach The Garden is beautiful Close to Pier and Restaurants
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property has a unique feel with the shade of old cashew trees. The smell of the fruit permeates the area, the fruits are delicious and Yai will fry some of the nuts up for you on request. Yai is also a great host and will show you all of the best spots on the island, places to eat, hidden viewpoints and more... highly recommended. Please keep in mind that the setting is very rustic, even in a bamboo bungalow this is closer to camping than a luxury resort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s set on a beautiful little green plot with fragrant cashew nut trees and it’s set back slightly from the village so it’s extremely quiet but perfectly located for all the restaurants. Yai, the owner, is the secret to this place. He is the best host you could wish for, it feels like you are going to stay with a close friend. Thanks to him we had an amazing time in Koh Muk. You can stay in more luxurious places on the island but you won’t benefit from Yais’s warm hospitality and great advice. Advice which actually saved us a lot of money (on boat trips and ferries) because he is honest and won’t try to exploit you!
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Yai is a great host, he made sure that I feel comfortable all the time
Cons: Overall work needs to be done But other than that Yai is an excellent host and will make everything he can to make you feel welcome.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Yai, is the nicest guy, and will help you have the best trip possible. He knows the island very well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome and pickup service at the pier by the owner, Khun Yai. He then took me to the other side of the island for the sunset. Outstanding hospitality!
Cons: Not related to the Cashew Nut Resort alone but be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes on Koh Mook during the rainy season.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Yai is a fantastic host and wants to help make your time on Mook as good and easy as possible. He met my boat, drives guests to Charlie beach for sunset each night, taught me to roast the most delicious cashews you'll ever taste. Also can help arrange tours, kayaks, best places to eat..
Cons: The walk to the toilet block (only 10 metres) is a little annoying when it's raining. But Yai says he plans to build bathrooms into the bungalows in the near future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique hut set amongst cashew nut trees. Yai is amazing. He is so helpful and friendly. He will show you all the best bits about the island, pick you up from the pier, take you here there and everywhere, just because he loves his business.
Cons: We liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Yai is definitely the best host I have had for a 3 month-trip through south east Asia. He came everywhere with us and this was a real pleasure. He made us know all about the wonderful Ko Mook island. Regarding the place you sleep, this is just amazing. His cashew nut trees surround all the place. You can hear the voice of nature, birds and cashew nuts falling on the floor every 10 minutes. I just fell in love with this place. Simplicity and warmth. I slept in both accomadation: tent and bungalow. Both are perfect
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cashew trees in the garden and hornbills. Yai the host goes the extra mile to guide you around the island and drive you places. Very pleasant.
Cons: Lots of mosquitoes in the room and toilets. Never been so much bitten. A real plague on the whole island.
Koh Mook Hostel - Ko Muk - Bedroom
5
8.8 Excellent (257 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Koh Mook Hostel in Ko Mook, you'll be near the beach and 9 minutes by car from Farang Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location at the main street but in a quiet part, the bed was comfortable. Nice breakfast (extra credit for the staff of the cafe, they were really friendly!). It's ok for a few nights but expect just a nice bed, nothing more.
Cons: The common area was uncomfortable, so everyone basically hangs out in their beds. No real kitchen facilities (the ones there were quite dirty), in 3 days I saw someone at the reception maybe once so it was impossible to get any tips or tickets/tours (which are available at other providers, though).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of my favourite places I have stayed. As a solo traveller I felt very comfortable there. The gentleman running it is so kind and helpful. I told him I wanted to go to the cave and he organised for me to go with some of the other guests which was really nice. I had trouble with the ATM and he was so helpful. Really nice guy. I loved the location so close to the beautiful beach. I loved the cafe opposite for breakfast. I had had a few other meals there too and all were very nice. The outside toilets and showers were clean. The dorm was also kept clean. There’s a seating area outside but under cover of you want to eat take away or relax. I extended my stay twice, I really enjoyed it there. Would definitely come back.
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast included in the price, host was so kind and helpful, helped me to plan walks to go on during the day and recommended spots on the island! Bed was a bit hard but room was clean and fans worked well. Good pressure in the shower, would recommend to a friend!

Pros: It is the only hostel on the island. Just what I was expecting. The restaurant in front where they give you the breakfast is the best. The bread home made. Best breakfast in thailand

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, near to the beach and a lot of restaurants and shops in short walking distance. Included breakfast from Miss Island restaurant was very good. Excellent WIFI

The woman who was managing the resort was very kind and helpful. Sitting in the lovely garden by the sea and watching the fishermen bringing in their daily catch was a real joy.

Pros: Staff
Cons: Staff were remarkably friendly :) Super comfy rooms - we received a free room upgrade too! Weather was stormy when I was leaving but the staff went above and beyond to arrange the boat back to the mainland! Thanks again guys

Pros: Big Tips, we were So Lucky to see 2 Hornbill birds jumping around the big trees in the resort. Mook Montra was one of the great accommodations we ever stay. Services were wonderful. Room was neat and clean. Aircond was quiet. We had good relaxation staying here. Using FREE House-wife bicycles were just great. They do have mountain bikes and Motorcycles for rent. This place is amazing and strongly recommended.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Traveling along North through South of Thailand, seeing things differently. Koh Mook is our favorite destination. Staying at Mook Montra Resort is where we love most. Compared to those on islands, this is one of the best. It is not a modern fancy resort; but it performs top class in terms of great location, cleanliness, good bed, quiet environment, friendly staffs. It is superb.
Cons: Non

The Tent is so ready, quiet, fully equipped with TV, fridge, clean bathroom, especially big Aircond; you never feel hot even the sun straight by noon..
Cons: Never regret anything.

Taking 2 free bikes from the resort; was so relax and super excercise. Staffs are so friendly; room is super clean; resort are green with trees and colorful with beautiful flowers. We dont want to ask for anythingelse. Wish you come and, definitely, you will experience the same.

7.5 Good
Pros: It was on a hill and each night we had a lovely breeze. The bar fridge was great and supply of coffee etc was good. Also there was plenty of bottled water. The staff were hard working and very friendly.
Cons: We are 65+ so found being the second highest room a challenge each time we needed to ascend we had to have a couple of minutes recovery. Some steps are very steep and there are no railings next to the bungalow steps. The staff helped us both ways with our luggage, carrying it both up & down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location - in the forest: calm, silent, clean surrounding. Bungalows are really cool furnished: hand-made furniture done by the owner. Close to the beach: clean water, nice bar, not crowded. Very helpful owners.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such lovely hosts, very friendly and you can see that they love their bungalows and they take really good care of their guests and the bungalows. 2 Min. Walk to one of the two prettiest beaches on the island. Very good restaurants near by (we can recomend the restaurant hill top and the one at charlie beach). The bungalows are surrounded by trees, which gives them a jungle atmosphere and makes them cooler (while it is very hot at the beach). All bungalows are simple, nicely build out of wood - everything you need!
Cons: Nothing to complain:)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The deluxe bungalow had a great bathroom and was spotlessly clean for such an open structure. Beautiful views and a great location close to 2 beaches. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. It was a nice experience and if you are happy with fan room (no aircon) I would highly recommend this place.
Cons: I had a deluxe bungalow and there was no curtain at the huge front window. I see this was for effect (to enjoy the great view) but it left zero privacy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about this place, the bungalow itself is so comfy and we spent so much time just on our deck enjoying the jungle. The owners are very nice and made us feel like friends. There are a bunch of other small restaurants nearby to walk to, and of course Charlie beach (best beach on island) is a quick walk away. Definitely book this place, you won’t regret it! (In fact we are now at a more “upscale” resort on a nearby island and talking about hanging out plans just to go back to Mountain View!
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like, but remember to bring a flashlight or headlamp for this island!
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean bungalow
Cons: I booked a 30sqm2 and i had a 24sqm2
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place in a great location with the friendliest people. Farang Beach is an short walk away and a very nice place to spend most of the daytime. Thanks to Steve for very precise and friendly communication before or stay, thanks for supplying the extra bed and a very special THANK YOU to Om for teaching out son fireshow skills and to Steve for driving into the village and but him a stick! This was/is a huge and very special thing for him! Thanks to Jin and the rest of the staff for being nice and helpful during our - too short - stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location of the place is amazing. Just a short walk to the beach and far enough away from the village to get a little bit of seclusion. The rooms were nice and clean. The property doesn't have a pool but it does have a very nice beach really close. There is a bar downstairs (Ting Tong bar) and although music was played you couldn't really hear it in the rooms which was nice. Staff was amazing and really helpful. Funnily enough, they recommended me having breakfast in the hotel nearby during low season. However, I did try the breakfast at Mountain View which was actually better than the restaurant they recommended. You can rent a motorbike from a place in the middle of the island. If you ask the staff from the hotel they will arrange the motorbike for you at the hotel. Place is wonderful. If I come back to Ko Mook I will definitely stay here.
Cons: No complaints really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really peaceful on a evening, nice bar with a great barman ohm. Very close to the best beach. Tuk taxi anywhere on island 50tb per person.
Cons: Nothing!

7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice location on Koh Mook, friendly owner. Nice balcony and sea view. Air co and fridge in the room.
Cons: Room is a bit small: no space and no cupboard/shelf to even empty your suitcase (had to keep all clothes inside suitcase on the floor), barely enough room to walk around the bed when a couple of suitcases are there! Bathroom is very basic with little water pressure and the wall doesn't even go all the way up so you can hear and even see what's going on from the tiny room. It's also very smelly (mold and/or sewage) so everytime we came in the room we were a bit shocked by the smell but then got used to it. We found a big cockroach in the shower one night. The fridge is half full of solid ice which could be solved by unplugging it for 1 day and cleaning it... Shows a lack of care and maintenance. A bit pricey for the amenities you get but I guess it's the price to stay on cosy Koh Mook. You'll find much cheaper and better on Koh Lanta but it's a busier island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was like coming home. Everything was very clean and and you felt welcome all the time. There was beer and soft drinks in the fridge that you could buy. Free coffee at the "lobby". It didn't feel like a hotel or guesthouse...it felt like home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming place, tiny rooms with a beautiful terrace and a view of the sea - mornings and evenings unforgettable :) Very clean !!! The owner very nice and helpful. I highly recommend !! :) Thank you !! :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The lady of the house is a perfect host: very kind and helpful, she goes out of her way to please her guests and she speaks very good English. I stayed here twice and Yuat was the reason to come back here, felt like a member of the family! There's always coffee or tea for free at the reception. It is near the pier, near the market with lots of restaurants and near 2 lovely beaches. I can warmly recommend Seaside Home!
Cons: No real beach in front but the terrace is on the water.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place for those who are not interested in staying at typical tourist resorts.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We booked this hotel because of the great reviews of the owner. Unfortunately she was somewhere else, but even then she made sure everything was perfect for us. She helped us book a boat/snorkeling trip with one of the local fisherman which was perfect. It's a private tour and the people are extremely friendly. They have a cool bar just next to the pension.
Cons: It's not the fault of the owner, but we stayed there for three nights and the electricity went out on the entire island on two different days (just for a couple of hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just perfect!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was super friendly and she took good care of us. Seaview room had beautiful view.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice overlooking the water. Host very Very helpful. Ac worked.
Cons: Expensive for what was offered. Bathroom more like a shower recess. Room tiny. Not very pretty neighbourhood.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The lady owner vert kind, the fantastic view.
Cons: A little bit expensive for such a little room.

Cons: Double price for AC, that's ridiculous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was FABULOUS! They were very helpful and made sure to answer all of our questions. Everyone was genuinely friendly, as well. Bungalow was super clean. No issues at all, very happy with our stay (we stayed for about a week).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the old wooden bungalow. The whole area was very clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!!! Staff, accommodation and food were excellent!!!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location of Mookies was really good, close to beautiful and quiet beach, very peaceful location. The condition of the bungalows is good, some of them are pretty new. We planned to stay there 3 days but we have extended our stay to 5 because the island is really beautiful.
Cons: The breakfast was really bad, could not recommend it at all, we ate it just once and we were going to neighbour restaurant where was much better and cheaper. The suff was unfriendly and hard to communicate with, only one girl the masseuse one was very friendly and helpful. The whole properity could be also cleaner, we were accommodated in new bungalows and around them there some rubbish and debris, not cleaned up after construction.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We booked a bamboo bungalow but we werent really satisfied with it. Of course it was very cheap, so we should not complain but the floor was broken and the whole bungalow was shaking with every move. Fortunately we got an upgrade the next day and from then on it was really good to stay there. Mookies Bungalows is near Charlie Beach / Farang Beach with amazing sunsets and lots of nice people. Next to Mookies Bungalows there is the Ting Tong Bar, there we met very nice people and the owner 'Om' took us to a jungle hike and secret beach. Dont miss his fire shows... it is amazing and the best one we have ever seen. The staff in mookies bungalows didnt meet our expectations. The owner lady is very very friendly though. We booked two snorkel tours with the hotel. One day Ko Kradan and the other day Ko Ngai. Both trips were very good and the longtail boat captain was very friendly and helpful. Food was good, they serve every evening fresh fish.
Cons: staff was only friendly with some extra money, except of the wife of the owner, she was pure sunshine. bamboo bungalows not in a good condition.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were here in our honeymoon. We arrived on May 21st and stayed 5 nights. The weather was good, no too rainy, so the sun 'managed' to burn us despite the protection. The beach was close and ours (mine and my wife's) - there were barely some tourists on the island. We got many discounts during this period.
Cons: Be careful in the town and negotiate the prices. The people there does not have prices on clothes (they just tag them with prices when they see you)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing location, fridge, bungalows detached so no noise from next door, helpful staff (and easy to book taxis and a trip to the Emerald Cave), decent food in hotel restaurant, a short walk from the BEST beach in Koh Mook .. Charlie Beach is where you want to stay as the pier / ferry end of the island is, too put it frankly, not very nice looking! Everything you need is near Mookies, including the Hilltop restaurant 5 minutes up the hill .. and a couple of beach bars to watch the sunset ... marvellous ...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well maintained and good value. Excellent system for hiring sea Kayaks, well organised and good value, highly recommended. Good hosts, nothing was too much trouble, I wish them every success.
Cons: A small detail, Butter instead of margarine at breakfast ?.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was basic. The room was a stand alone bungalow with a nice little balcony. There was only a fan to cool the room. The bathroom was basic but good water pressure.
Cons: Our fan exploded in the middle of the night and there was no-one around to assist with replacement. The bed was ok, nothing exceptional.

When you stay at Mook Tamarind Resort in Ko Mook, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute walk of Morakot Cave and Farang Beach. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The villa we stayed at was new and clean. The small pool outside our villa was very nice (the small pool was the reason we chose this hotel). Breakfast was good, staff helpful.
Cons: The hotel says its on the beach and it is... But you cant swim there. Its a 10-15 minute walk to the beach where you can swim /5min with taxi. Nearest Shop also 10min away by walking. You dont get good value for money, its way overpriced (we paid 94€/ per night) . View that opened from the bed was the sea and the trail where everyone walked; staff and guests. Privacy you got when curtains were closed. A/C was located behind the bed, so it was blowing all the time on you in every position of the a/c. Service that the hotel offers are overpriced (we rented a scooter) and asked for a longtail boat and it was more expensive than at the beach. In the end we were both wondering "what we paid for?"
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It is great that you can rent bicycles and kayaks directly at the hotel. Beach mats, beach towels, slippers and umbrellas were provided. The bungalow is very clean and modern. Breakfast and also dinner were very delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, even if they do not speak English well.
Cons: The hotel is located not very central, it takes you about 25 minutes to walk to the pier, to Charlie Beach is only 10 minutes. At low tide, the sea gets back very far, then the beach doesn't look so nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bungalows of Mook Tamarind Resort were quite new. The resort was clean but in the surrounded area there was partly quite a lot of plastic waste. We had a Bungalow with glass front where you had a directly view to the sea and the mangroves. Early in the morning you could watch the sunrise directly from your bed while having a cup of coffe. For breakfast you can choose out of 10 different menues e.g. American breakfast, pancake with Jam, yoghurt with fresh fruit.... coffe, tea and juice. The breakfast was prepared fresh. The staff was very nice and courteous, the rooms were very clean and made up every day. As the resort is a bit outside the City Center, they offer a transfer by motorbike which is 50bath pp. one way. You can also rent bikes for free or a kayak to see the surrounding beaches for 400bath/day. Only negative point was that you can not swim in the sea in front of the resort as there are mangroves. But within 5 minutes you are at different beaches where you can swim and snorkel. Would definitely recommend to stay in this resort!
Cons: Only negative point was that you can not swim in the sea in front of the resort as there are mangroves. But within 5 minutes you are at different beaches where you can swim and snorkel.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was very welcoming and helpful, location is top with watching sunrise in bed, a little bit far from main road but the free bicycle service is helping to wander around the city
Cons: Bathroom was stinking, bed was very uncomfortable, pillows in sizes impossible to use, a little bit overpriced
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved riding around the island on motor bike
Cons: They need to provide top sheet for bed I ask and got one
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was outstanding. The staff amazing and went above and beyond with our stay.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good to get to other beaches
Cons: Noisy nights unloading boats at night. Far too much money. Should be at least 1/3 cheaper
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff are brilliant and will help organise trips, transfers, etc. This is a great place to see the sunrise. Spectacular. The restaurant at the resort is very cheap and the food good. Bikes can be borrowed free and are a great way to get around the island. The roads are quiet and fairly flat. A motorbike taxi will cost just 50bhat pp anywhere on the island.
Cons: Koh Muk is quite undeveloped and this is reflected in the accommodation available. This is okay and probably the main reason most people come here. However, the cost of our room here was the same as a much bigger and nicer room in a proper resort on Koh Lipe. There are a lot of stray dogs roaming around in packs. What looks like a beach in front of the 'resort' is a gravelly shallow area with clumps of mangrove. Nice to look at. Be aware that the road doesn't reach the resort but ends at a beach about 200mts from the resort. This isn't a problem as the staff at the resort will help you with your bags.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The toilet was always smelly. The view from vila was spectacular we were watching tides from the porch or from the little pool in front of the vila. It was very clean and stuff were kind and helpful.
Cons: The toilet was always smelly (sewer system is most likely not properly build.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was like having a private beach, just for the residents. Although it was sandy/pebbley, there were full grown trees growing up through the sand, and lots of stalks sticking up from the sand. Hence not a bathing beach. But a very natural beach. Would not alter it for the world. The best Pad Thai I have had in Thailand, and have been to Thailand four times in the last six years. Good cook. Fresh cooked fish that fell off the bone, tasted divine. Staff very helpful. Eager to please.
Cons: Could you add Muesli to the breakfast menu.

Located in Ko Mook, Village Garden Bungalows Kho Mook is within a 10-minute drive of Farang Beach and Morakot Cave. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy, calm area, close to the pier (you canot use taxi, which is default 50bht/person).
Cons: Receptionist wasnt there when we arrive, but came up to 2 min. after call.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A lot of things. It was very clean, cheap, friendly, cosy and near the beach and all the restaurants. The two ladies was so nice and helpful with booking tickets and everything else. The aircon was great, breakfast was included in the price. We orderd extra pancake for our children. Cheap and tasteful.
Cons: The bed was very hard and there were some noise from the reggiebar nere by. But not so we couldnt sleep.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great. You have free bikes to use around the island that is really small. If possible go to charlie beach and emeralds cave. After that its not much to do in the island. The climate there is a game changer. We arrived in the rain and was not that nice at all. Next day will full sun is another story.
Cons: There is a abar in front so you couldn't sleep until the music stops. They don't have that much night live so you want to go to bed early. The bed is kind of stiff and the breakfast is a no no. Is not worth paying extra for that.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The best thing about the property was its friendly and always smiling staff. Although some things could be improved, the attitude of the ladies who were taking care of us made our stay more than pleasant. It's a very small complex - only 4 bungalows - which means no noise during the night or day. It's located in the centre of the village so all the shops, restaurants and tourist offices are nearby. The main pier is 10 min walking distance from the property. The facilities in the room are rather basic but, in general, we felt we had everything we needed and the most important appliance in the room - the air conditioning - was working without any problems.
Cons: There's only cold water in the shower, which for some people might be a problem. However, it's worth remembering that Koh Mook is a tropical island and a cold shower is actually what you dream of at the end of the day. The WiFi was rather weak and at times it didn't work at all. The house we stayed in was located the furthest from the reception, which might have been the reason for the WiFi not working properly.
7.0 Good
Pros: We stayed at the property for one night. The reception was very helpful to arrange our transfer, they spoke good english and were really nice. The room is spacious and the aircon works perfectly. There were some cockroahes in the room and insects in the bathroom, but it is completely normal on the islands.
Cons: The location is not of the best ones, far away from charlie beach but relatively close to the savadin beach, which is not so nice. The breakfast was very basic, but nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice quite place, good air con, close to restaurants and sivalai beach, free bikes on site, good breakfasts. We can recommend this place!
7.5 Good
Pros: friendly and helpful staff
Cons: low pressure shower
5.5 Okay
Pros: Complimentary bikes really appreciated. Room was comfortable .
Cons: A lot of noise from the road from 7am and from the bar opposite at night. Bathroom drains smell terrible due to plumbing. No staff on site after 5pm
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good clean room comfy bed and good air-conditioning.
Cons: Ask for a room at the back, away from the road.
7.5 Good
Pros: Everything was good
Cons: Everything was ok

9.5 Excellent
Pros: So much value for money, definitely worth it and I'll want to come back. Nice breakfast, such helpful staff, calm environment and everything you'd want is available to book or rent right there. Dada fixes everything!
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast buffet was wonderful and changed everyday with many options. Staff warm and accomodating.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Dada is a great host, she goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy the island and all it has to offer, the food and drink at the property was nice and all the staff make you feel welcome, scooters are cheap and well worth renting to visit Charlie beach, the young ones in the family are very well behaved, playing on the beach with not a care in the world, very nice to see kids being kids.
Cons: Its a garden resort so expect animal noises during the night and the odd lizard in the bathroom
7.0 Good
Pros: I enjoyed the location of the garden bungalow - it was a short tuk tuk ride from the pier (50 baht per person flat fee to go anywhere on the island), and you could walk everywhere. Staff give you a map and talk you through all the walks you can do. Staff were really helpful and friendly, we were given a cold drink on arrival. The resort was friendly and quiet, with a nice restaurant, a small beach which was mainly only used by guests and a small pool - all excellent. Bikes and kayaks were available to use, and scooters could be hired for 200 baht a day. The boat trips on offer at reception represented fantastic value for money. The Longtail boats pick you up from the beach right on the door step, and you can do anything from a private boat, small tour or quick transfer to a deserted beach. Having breakfast included was a big bonus. I found it to be really nice - Thai tea/coffee, two juices (watermelon and pineapple), pancakes, donuts, toast, fried rice, fruit were all available. I would use this as a base for Koh Muk again and recommend it to others.
Cons: We booked the 500 baht bungalow so we knew it would be basic, but we weren't expecting it to be so tiny! Usually a bungalow at this price point will have a mattress on the floor, mosquito net, fan, approximaltely a meter of space all-around the bed and a bathroom. The bed in this bungalow was touching the wall on three sides, and when you opened the door there was about 50cm of space left on one side of the bed to fit luggage, a fan and also to get to the bathroom. Most people immediately paid extra to be upgraded to bigger rooms after being shown the 500 baht bungalow they had booked. We needed to stick to budget so just squashed in, but as the fan had to go at the side of the bed it was so much hotter at night than a normal bungalow which made it hard to get to sleep. Tattoo bungalow offers the same size bungalow for 300 baht. Other resort's offer larger bungalows for 500, so whilst it wasn't a deal breaker (especially with a free breakfast to make up for it), it did make it less of a good deal. My only other niggle was over charging. We paid as we went along but on the last night we were asked to just pay in the morning. Our food bill had another 10 baht added on by that time. We just paid it as it was a small amount and may have been a genuine mistake, but if that happens every time it adds up. So I would recommend saying no thanks to putting all bills on the room and paying at the end, and just pay as you go to avoid over charging.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, very helpful and smily. Good restaurant, tasty food, reasonable prices. Location is perfect. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Overall, great experience. Would definetely recommend@
Cons: The only thing, there is no hot water, being on holiday with a baby/toddler requires it. Other than that it was perfect!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff running this place is very nice! Always ready to help you out and solve problems. Breakfast in the morning was amazing and in general they have very good food at the restaurant.
Cons: It's not a negative point, but just know that the bungalows are very basic (like most of them around the island). Overall it was a nice stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: Solitude
Cons: No ac in bungalow, mosquitoes
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, they thoughtfully upgraded our friend so her room would be closer to ours. Their welcome was very friendly with Thai tea welcome drink and they helpfully suggested things to do around the island and organised a long tail boat for us to use for one day of our stay.
Cons: It would be nice if the windows in the rooms had mosquito screens and the mosquito nets provided did not have holes in them. This resort is definitely more acceptable to Thai people than westerners, thought the staff had reasonable English the breakfast was a very Thai meal and the rooms were more a Thai standard than a Foreigner standard.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The huts were an improvement on where we'd just come from. It's a beautiful place, surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the sea with hammocks and swings dotted about. You get free breakfast which is basic but sets you up good for the day. The food is also decent. Free bicycle hire and free kayaks which was great as we had never gone snorkelling before so we could go out to a nearby spot and try it at our own pace. This served us well for the trip the next day (organised by Garden Beach) where we went to a number of great snorkelling locations. Laundry service was fine. You don't pay for anything until the last day but everything was spot on. During the last night, a dog stole one of my flip flops from our balcony. I spotted it in the main area as one of the girls had spotted it on the road and brought it back! Amazing!
Cons: Nothing. Loved it. Koh Mook is beautiful too.

Cons: Bathroom was not in the greatest shape.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff, breakfast, room very well equipped (fridge, ventilator, soap in the bathroom).
Cons: Quite a long way to a decent beach, but you can take a taxi bike or walk.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Own fridge, good location, motorbike rental nearby, lovely staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff is nice and helpful although they have basic English. The room was spacious and clean. We were satisfied but don't expect too much. Breakfast was very nice if you have it included in price. There is a restaurants nearby with good food.
Cons: Right behind our room was a water pump which activated with each tap usage at any bungalow, the noise was unbearable, without earplugs we wouldn't sleep for sure. Location is at the end of the village so a bit of walk from beach and restaurants. We decided to rent motorbike. We stayed there only one night as we had already bungalows at Charlie Beach, so in overall was OK.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I are two girls in their 20s and we like our rest but also to hang out with relaxed and great people rather than party every day. This hostel is perfect for it. We were supposed to stay for 2 nights but extended our stay with 4 more nights (even though we had only 3 weeks for whole Thailand). The moment me and my friend arrived at this hostel immediately made us understand all the reviews on the internet. The vibe was peaceful, relaxed, and welcoming. The owners made this possible, as they made us feel at home. They are from Europe and they understand travellers and people in general. They are amazing people. Furthermore, the hostel was always clean and organized. Our laundry was done and folded quickly and nicely. The breakfast is very good (!) and we ate dinner at this hostel once and that was amazing too. Everything was good to us. Even the distance to the walking street was not an obstacle, because we rented a motorbike (just like anyone else in Pai); the roads were good to drive a motorbike on, it took us only 10min to go to the walking street, and on top of that this distance in combination with the peaceful home-ish vibe at this hostel made us feel as if we were living there in our own place for a week. We could take the bikes and have dinner in the city and ‘go back home’ afterwards or hang out and have more drinks. To conclude; the vibe at this hostel, created mainly by the owners, is what makes this hostel great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The lady that owns is amazing. She has a super cute boy who is lots of fun.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went above and beyond to help us. We left our universal adapter at the property and when I contacted the staff, they arranged to send it with the speedboat the next day to the island where we were. We were so grateful! Thanks again! The breakfast was also great!
Cons: Everything was great! :)
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice breakfast (choice from menu) free tea and coffee
Cons: When we arrived we asked if we can stay for 3 nights instead of 4 and they said it was alright, but when we checked out they charged extra 500baht for the last night. Only cold water in shower
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast!!! Lovely and friendly staff. The room was comfortable and clean, nice little balcony.
Cons: Would have liked a cotton bed sheet instead of a silk one as it was way too hot and sticky.
6.8 Good
Pros: Clean rooms, location in the villlage but still close to everything.
Cons: Price

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, in a garden by the pier. On the right of the 3 bungalows, abt 5 min walking, there is a very beautiful beach with white sand. Bathroom was clean, room in big enough. We asked for change of towels and there was no issue. I think the bungalows are quite new. Booked the trip to Krabi with them and there were no problems. Good value for money!! Close to the main center and restaurants but then again, Ko Mook is small and you can walk or rent motorbike/bike for getting around.
Cons: Maybe put like a closet in the room, but that is just a suggestion!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a Lovely bungalow overlooking the jetty with easy access to the beach and walking street. Clean and Good value Tar, the lady running the place, was very friendly and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service from Mr Yong and his family. He takes you on tours to the most fascinating places like the Emerald Cave ( and he makes sure you can go when there aren’t hundreds of Chinese tourists from Lanta there ). He knows the islands like the back of his hand and knows the good sites for snorkeling. He and his wife are very friendly and do their utmost to make you feel at home. Make sure you book a tour to Koh Rok - it’s simply paradise. Great location on the left side of the pier so you have easy access to the boats when going to other islands. Simple but clean and nice bungalows with great wi-fi access. This is the best place to stay at when on Koh Mook. No doubt about it.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was really helpful and friendly. The location of the bungalow is very central - just a few minutes to the centre of koh mook. The bungalow seemed quite new. Location is exactly next to the pier.
Cons: There was no warm water in the shower. Every now and then a weird smell came out of the bathroom. Ants come pretty quick into the appartment even if you don´t have food or anything around.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Wonderful view and location.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit grim - no flush and no tap to fill the bucket!
6.3 Good
Pros: The view from the bungalow is breathtaking The beach where the bungalows are, is one of the most beautiful one on the island. The reggae bar is very nice (having a drink there whilst watching the sunset is very nice).
Cons: The bathroom is very basic (to flush the toilet you have to throw a bucket of water in the toilet bowl). The water pressure from the shower is very poor.
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a place to stay if you want to relax and think about nothing. The bungalows are however for adventures travellers:) but they have a coffee maker. we had bungalow nr. 4 which is on the top of the hill. at night you hear the sea and also the surrounding animals. restaurant is absolutely great and fair prices. small cats and kids running around and the atmosphere is like family. during the day hanging out at Fanta bar with shakes and ice coffee and sundowner with great sunset. basically you have everything and do not have to leave the beach.if you want you can arrange a taxi. 4h ko kradan snorkeling: do not miss!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: amazing balcony view, nice beach, quiet resort
Cons: dirty and stinking toilet
6.8 Good
Pros: Views from our bungalow were superb, heavenly. The beach bars were really chilled and great happy hours. Food good. Good WiFi.
Cons: Paid 2200 Baht per night when I booked but when we got there, the price was 1200 Baht. So spent a lot for a thatched hut, no AC, no hot water, rooms never tidied. They demanded payment on arrival. But still...what a view. The steps up to the restaurant and bungalows were treacherous and made you think twice before going for a quick dip in the morning.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location was unbelievably beautiful.
Cons: Roaches, mice and flies. Unclean. The water from the drains goes into the ocean. Food was horrible. They served us someone else's breakfast which sat in front of us for 5-10 minutes. Then brought ours to us, under cooked, and just handed the plates in front of us to the table that ordered it even though we had touched it and it sat there for 10 minutes. Lady in charge of the place was always yelling at the disabled son/brother. We had 600 baht in change due at check in, she handed me 500 and then when I confirmed what was owed, handed over the remaining 100 which was crumbled in her hand.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect view from the bed and balcony. Do not need anything just lay down and look at the sunset. If you will stay at Koh Mook, this is the best one of your choice.
Cons: All the metal stuff is rusty but still working.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Great location.Wonderful beach.
Cons: Room is a basic shack in the jungle. Lots of insect bites in the night. Not a relaxing place to sleep. Monkeys noisey in the trees. Dog in restaurant growling and not friendly. Bathroom is terrible. Constantly wet floor, no window and toilet wet from shower. Food at restaurant is average and breakfast menu poor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect location on Koh Mook. The bungalows are overlooking the sea and are comfortable with all the necessities. Fridge, kettle fan etc We stayed in bungalow 3, views were fantastic. Hot shower, secluded location right next to the best beach on Koh Mook and just a short journey by tuctuc away from the main village. All staff were great but a special mention to John from Portugal who assisted with arranging excursions and transfers and was always on hand to deal with any communication difficulties. A great place to stay at a reasonable price.
Cons: If the bungalows had air conditioning it would be even better however the fan was sufficient for our stay in early Jan The restaurant offers a good selection of food and drinks at average prices
4.3 Okay
Pros: Only nice thing about this place is the location
Cons: Unfriendly staff They dump the rubbish on the reef 2/3 times a day walking past our bungalow with full bags of trash and back with them empty Room smelled of raw sewage whenever you flush the toilet or the wind blew towards the bungalow Most expensive place we stayed in Thailand and no clean sheets etc for 5 days Filthy bathroom with slimy smelly floor under the wooden raised slats Had to ask for a mosquito net when it was advertised as included No hot water when advertised as having but you don’t really need it as so hot but our 2 year old daughter prefers hot water showers... Sad feeling knowing you’re supporting an unfriendly family to ruin the environment and national park the place is built in.... wish we didn’t pay upfront as we would have moved after the first night but the lady demanded we pay all upfront....
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner is soo lovely, he & his family were always helpful & soo sweet to us!!!! Really wonder-full place :)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice view Nice outside area Quiet
Cons: Not very helpful staff WiFi worked one day out of two
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Concrete in insulated room so very hot, fan not enough for that construction. Needs air con as no air flow. Pillows to few and soft
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: No fridge no nothing
Cons: Was a room and cold shower nothing but empty room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was very friendly and the bubgalows were really cosy. For such a price in Koh Mook I believe it is impossible to find anything alike: nice, spacious, comfortable and clean.
Cons: The water wouldn't go down the drain and would stay all over the floor
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice, simple and clean room with the restaurant and sea right outside the door! The room size is good and comfortable with big bed. Worth the price.
Cons: Very bad Wi-FI connection (Works a little bit better outside the door)
6.8 Good
Pros: The food is really good and very cheap. Amazing staff and very good location near the small village and the pier. Bike rent is cheap and it’s a good place to book a full day tour.
Cons: The bed was very very soft which actually made it quite uncomfortable. The room is way too hot! One fan is not enough and even though we slept with the door open we still had troubles sleeping because of the heat. If you wanna go relax on the beach, we would recommend you to go to Charlie Beach hence the beaches near by are not far as nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is extra nice, the restaurant is really good.
Cons: Water was yellow, muddy, and the door of the room is opening to the street.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Everything. The room is four walls and a roof, out of concrete. The water is brown, you can barely flush the toilet. Your paying for a roof over your head, nothing else. It’s dirty water around the resort - so you can’t swim right there. The staff was really sweet, but that’s it unfortunately.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff, anticipate needs of customers. Showed great flexility.
