With a stay at Albergo Toscana in Bad Schandau, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Bohemian Switzerland National Park and Koenigstein Fortress. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
Pros: The room was actually much nicer than I imagined from looking at the pictures. It was clean with a very comfortable bed and quiet which my dog and I both appreciated.
Pros: We end up with an apartment complete with a real refrigerator that makes real ice! A very welcome sight. Check in was easy, staff very helpful. Not everyone does English, but there was always someone around that did. The breakfast was awesome, it’s not often here to have things cooked to order. From here you’re literally in the shadow of the Aufzug Ostrau, elevator which takes you to the mountain top. Rooms were huge, separate living/kitchen areas, bathroom separate as well. They have the old-Skool skeleton like keys for the doors, the building itself is quite a structure, it’s been redone tastefully inside. There’s a large covered outdoor sitting area with a table in the rear. It is very quiet at night, security does not seem an issue at all, a very safe area within easy walking distance to some really good restaurants, etc. From here you’re close to a great many sights. Probably the best bargain of our trip. Love to do it again sometime!
Cons: Nothing the hotel can do about this, but I found the public transportation schedule to be very confusing. You have to cross the river from the Bhf, it can be done by ferry boat as well once you become more savvy. Best bet, if you’re new, is get to Elbkai station by whichever bus you can (its in the middle of town, close to the river) then walk down the river sidewalk to the spa, turn left. Going through town pulling luggage with cobblestones wasn’t much fun.
Pros: Beautiful, clean, delicious breakfast, friendly and attentive staff -- we came from Brooklyn on a trip through Germany/Czech, and this was the best hotel in which we stayed!
Pros: charming atmosphere, very friendly staff, delicious breakfast, will definitely stay at this hotel again when in this area
Cons: no standard coat hangers in the closet but a system that is almost impossible to use
Pros: Beautiful, airy, relaxing room. On the main road through town, but still very quiet. Well positioned on the 'hotel highway' and just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Good shower, comfortable bed. Excellent.
Pros: Our second time in this beautifully designed and comfortable little hotel. Friendly staff, especially Yana at the reception, but all others as well. Great breakfast in a nice dining space and excellent coffee. The common seating area is sweet. There was good free coffee in the lounge and on a cold evening after bike ride it was just great. Bike storage and large free car parking.
Cons: Lots of stairs to climb to 3 rd fl rooms, but was right for the quiet room we wanted with the view. Would be nice if there was a little fridge and hot water kettle in the room. There was no lotion or hair conditioner. All in all it was a lovely experience. It’s our second coming and we hope for future ones (-:
Pros: The staff was super friendly and the room was beautiful!
Quietly located in the heart of Wehlen's historic centre, the Wehlener Hof is just 100 metres from the banks of the Elbe River. It offers hearty buffet breakfasts, garden with a terrace and a bar. The stylish rooms feature quality furnishing, offering a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a seating area and a private bathroom. Breakfast is served at the property, and a restaurant is located 30 metres from the property where regional dishes are served. Guests are welcome to relax with a drink in the lobby, which also has a separate smoking area, or enjoy a homemade cake in the café. Welll sign-posted hiking trails start directly outside the Wehlener Hof, as it is located next to the national park. The Czech border is 20 km away. Stadt Wehlen Train Station is 600 metres from the Wehlener Hof, and it is 15 km to the A17 motorway. Lockable storage for bicycles is available at the property.
Pros: We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Very friendly and helpful hosts, comfortable and clean rooms and beds, wonderful water pressure and hot water in the shower, and the location can't be beat...It's right on the small town square where the church is. Breakfasts were wonderful, especially with the spread of homemade jams and marmalades.. the lemon curd was to die for. The hiking trail to the Bastei starts right behind the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel!
Cons: Somebody may complain about parking, but we had no problems with it. Parking was in a lot only a minute's walk away. And the hotel gives you parking passes for your stay. You can pull your car up to the hotel door to load/unload, and then park in the lot. Nothing negative about our stay.
Pros: fantastic breakfast. homemade bread spreads and pastes to die for. great central location at the small market square. ours was a spacious and bright corner room.
Pros: Everything was fine. Hotel is well located, quite near to the basteigebiet trail, the staff is really helpful and friendly, breakfast is delicious, the room is very comfortable.
Pros: I received a very friendly welcome when I arrived. The local knowledge of the host is also invaluable, giving me good advice on the hiking trails. Nice single room, impeccably clean. Excellent breakfast buffet as well. Stadt Wehlen is a pretty, but small village at the Elbe. However it is easy to get here by train, then take the ferry across the Elbe (free) and then walk 100 metres to the hotel.
Cons: I can't think of anything
Pros: Very good location in the centre of Stadt Wehlen with easy access to the Saxon Switzerland National Park and tot he River Elbe. Also there is a good rail connection to Dresden and Meissen in the norther an to Bad Schandau in the south. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast is excellent. The manager is very helpful and can provide any information about places to see in the area.
Pros: We liked really friendly and hard working personnel. The rooms are really well furnished and equipped. The bathroom has very good hair-dryers, very large mirrors and sink plates. The breakfast was above our expectations for German standards. It was unusually quiet in the hotel and in this small town.
Cons: It would be good to have a refrigerator in the room.
Pros: Very friendly and helpfull host. The location of the hotel was very close to good hiking tracks and to the turist office. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately there was noisy construction work going on just beside the hotel - starting at 8 am. We had paid for a "Luxury" room with a view, but there was no the/ Coffee making facilities and no fridge and the view from the room was nothing to write home about. No elevator
Cons: it is impossible to boil water for tea or coffee
Pros: Friendly and welcoming hosts. Personal touch. They helped me find my way around the area.
Pros: The owner was very informative and welcoming. Very quickly addressed any concern.
The Hotel Elbiente is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. With Wi-Fi in designated areas available, you'll have no problems keeping connected. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. A pickup service can be arranged for guests upon request. There's never a dull moment at this hotel, our guests indicate that the facilities are excellent.
Pros: Very helpful staff, helped with finding the hotel and got my own motorcycle parking backyard for free. Very nice place! And excellent restaurant food. Rooms where fantastic.
Pros: Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was luxurious. Breakfast first class!
Cons: I accidentally left an adaptor plug and lead, to charge my Sony phone, in the bedroom. When I rang to collect it they said that it had not been found. Very strange. I wasn't happy about this.
Pros: Fantastic location with a beautiful view on the River Elbe. Room was clean and with a nice design. Sauna was great, especially after long walk in the mountains. Nice personnel and good breakfast.
Cons: On TV there were only German language programs pre-set. No program with other language at all. Bad.
Pros: very good breakfast, very good restaurant
Pros: Great! They offer a variety of food.
Pros: great location
Pros: There’s a great location for this place, very friendly workers, breathtaking view and really tasty dishes.
Offering a garden and a sun terrace, Pension Waldhäusl is quietly located in Bad Schandau, just a 6-minute drive from the River Elbe. Free WiFi access is available and the area is ideal for hiking and cycling. Rooms at Pension Waldhäusl are classically decorated. They each feature a flat-screen satellite TV, garden views and a private bathroom fitted with a shower and a hairdryer. Guests can enjoy traditional cuisine in the guest house’s restaurant, which serves food outdoors on the terrace in warmer months. Packed lunches can also be booked on request. Half board is also available. Bicycles can be rented directly from the property. The centre of Bad Schandau and Stadtpark Park are a 5-minute drive away. Thermae Toskana Bad Thermal Baths are 3.5 km away. Bad Schandau S-Bahn Train Station is 5 km from Pension Waldhäusl. The A17 motorway is a 10-minute drive away, and the guest house offers free private parking. The Czech border is 10 minutes away by car.
Pros: The host was very friendly.
Pros: The staff are very friendly and accomodating. The tram stop is right outside the hotel so very easy to use. In a good location for hiking and accessing the park. Great breakfast. Very nice rooms and very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Have to pay with cash (and the nearest cash machine is in Bad Schandau) - we were given warning so it wasn't an issue but just a heads up. The property is a bit out of Bad Schandau so maybe not the best location if you're not interesting in the park/hiking/etc.
Pros: + Fantastic surrounding (incl. view from the rooms) and easy access to some hiking routes. But also problematic from the transport standpoint - see the minuses + Extremely friendly family owning the guest house + Breakfast was good, even though it did not have a lot of hot food + The dinners were great as well (note that you have to ask for them in advance)
Cons: - Short windows for breakfast (8:00 - 9:30) and dinner (18:00 - 19:30) are problematic, especially given that the transport to the hotel goes very infrequently. - Location is nice, but it's not easily accessible, esp. with heavy luggage. The tram goes quite rarely, and does not go in the evening. The bus (241) goes just a few times a day. It's even worse in winter.
Pros: The hospitality of the hostess was superb. She even contacted possible addresses for our next stay. We got a tasty lunch for on the road. Our room was very comfortable and the tram stops in front.
Cons: The blanket of the bed was a bit short, but there was a spare blanket in the closet.
Pros: The staff was very helpful. Meals were great! Room and interior was extremely clean. It has been renovated in the past few years and now they are working on the exterior. Imagine it will be even better in a couple years. Trails right outside the door-just what we were looking for.
Cons: The outdoor patio may be improved a bit, but we still enjoyed beverages outside with the birds chirping and amazing scenery.
Pros: This was a lovely place to spend a few days. The welcome and service were superb. Breakfast was excellent. The selection of fruits, the yoghurt, the breads, cheeses and the coffee all appreciated. We had dinner there one night. This was also very good and we would recommend. The walking in the area was great. The Bastei is a must see but there's plenty more close to the Waldhaus. We would happily stay here again.
Pros: Good breakfast and dinners
Cons: The room was very small, no space for night tables etc. The dinner, delicious itself, was served too eartly, 18:30, so after the dinner there was not much to do and the village (Bad Schandau) was far off.
This family-run guest house is quietly situated in Stadt Wehlen in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, directly below the world-famous Bastei rock formation. It offers free WiFi and free parking. All rooms, suites and studios at Pension am Nationalpark feature modern interiors and include a flat-screen TV as well as a private bathroom with a shower and hairdryer. The delicious breakfast buffet consists of mostly local produce as well as homemade jams. In the evenings, guests can relax on the terrace with a good Saxon beer or wine. Several restaurants can be found within walking distance from the property. Pension am Nationalpark is an ideal base for cycling along the Elbe cycle traill, hiking on the Malerweg trail or else exploring the nearby cultural highlights of Dresden, Pillnitz or Meißen.
Cons: The dinner time would be better to extend beyond 21-00 as there was no food options in the area
Pros: I absolutely loved every minute.
Pros: I liked everything, to be honest. The rooms were normal regarding style and decoration, but that does not matter when you are in such a lovely location. The staff was very helpful and the environment was very positive. Everything was very clean and quiet, so my boyfriend and I could enjoy a relaxing weekend there, especially after long hiking days in the area (beautiful forests, by the way!). I am glad that we did not go to the towns that are nearby, which we found noisier and less charming. Stadt Wehlen was the quietest of them all, truly, and we felt very thankful for that. Sitting at the terrace of this property on a summer evening was very comforting and nice. From this terrace, you can also enjoy the views of the Elbe. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! My favourite items were the jams, which I believe are the best ones I have tried so far, especially the one with apple and sage and the jam made out of mango and rhubarb.
Cons: It would be nice if the check out time is a little bit later than 10 am. I think 10 am is pretty soon, but overall I cannot say anything bad about this property, really.
Pros: Very comfortable beds. The best breakfast buffet I’ve seen in a long time!! The owners were very friendly although they weren’t there when I arrived they have a very easy and secure system that I used to retrieve the key myself, and met them the next day at breakfast. Gorgeous outside area and location.
Pros: Delicious breakfast-the best in Sachsischer Schweiz! Perfect silence during night. In the middle of the nature. Extremely nice personel. Homemade jams and honey to buy - we made some supplies :-)
Cons: Missing boiler on the commun space
Pros: Good hotel on the banks of the Elbe. Friendly owners who gave me advice on the walking in the area. Spacious room and a good breakfast to set me on my way. I would have been happy to spend a few more days here.
Pros: Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the Pension Am National-park. The view was surreal and the air was so crisp. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. We will be returning in the future.
Cons: I personally think that the price was a bit high, but it wasn't absurd.
Pros: Breakfast was exeptional, service and personal was excellent.
This family-run, 3-star hotel offers cosy rooms and excellent in-house spa facilities in the spa town of Gohrisch, near the Elbe and the sandstone mountains of Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland). The Parkhotel Margaretenhof is a popular base for guests looking to explore the beautiful area on foot, by bicycle or by car. Discover the regions of Lausitz (Lusatia), Bohemia in the modern-day Czech Republic or visit the world-heritage city of Dresden which is just 30 km away. The restaurant serves mostly regional cuisine. Depending on the weather, you are welcome to enjoy these Saxon specialities in the conservatory or in the beer garden. Pamper yourself in the wellness centre of the Parkhotel Margaretenhof, consisting of various saunas, a steam bath, foot spas and massage showers.
Pros: good breakfast nice staff
Cons: very poor wi-fi small bathroom
Pros: Really exceptional place. Free wellness area was perfect, very friendly staff, big and comfortable room, great breakfast with wide selection.
Cons: Could get a contactless terminal, it is 2019 afterall :-)
Pros: Nice and cozy room, all is working and in a good. condition. Especially we liked spacious balcony with some flower boxes.
Cons: All was great, the only thing to fault with is that our window was directly above the restaurant and it was a bit noisy sometimes.
Pros: Comfortable beds and lovely balcony. Beautiful outside seating area and gardens. Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
Cons: Reception staff on check in was busy with personal phone call that they put on hold for about 30 seconds to give us a key and point up the stairs.
Pros: Comfortable hotel and very friendly staff. Big terrace to chill away long summer days with drinks and good food, a small bowling alley and sauna for winter nights. Short hikes from popular rocks like Pfaffenstein and Papststein and a short 2km hike uphill from Königstein train station.
Cons: impersonal, uncomfortable bed. service quality not in line with price (especially the food)
This 4-star hotel in Rathen is located at the foot of the Bastei Rock, in the popular Saxon Switzerland region. Hotel Elbschlösschen can only by accessed by ferry, and offers River Elbe views as well as a large spa area with swimming pool. All rooms and apartments at Hotel Elbschlösschen are beautifully furnished. Every room includes a TV, minibar and private bathroom. Free WiFi access is available in the lobby. The Lilienstein restaurant serves diverse dishes. A small number of à la carte dishes are available in the lobby bistro. The Elbschlösschen's spa includes a sauna, indoor pool and a variety of treatments. The Elbschlösschen is an ideal base for exploring the Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) region on foot, by bike or by boat. You must park your car at the public car park, and take the ferry across the Elbe to access the hotel.
Pros: The charm of the Hotel, outside and inside. The setting of the HOtel on the River Banks is sooo romantic and you experience the surroundings from the balcony. The staff were very friendly although they struggled with English. And the Breakfast and the bikes!!
Cons: Our room were small and did not really have a Riverview, you had to hang out the window to see the river.
Pros: Must be the views and breakfast. Great variety and amazing quality. Sauna and Swimming pool was clean, not overcrowded.
Cons: Bees flying around at outdoor breakfast area (common in Kurort Rathen). Room was slightly old. Door to balcony was slightly tricky to close and open.
Pros: Good, quite location, very close to the Bastei Bridge Beautiful view from the balcony Delicious breakfast
Cons: Wifi coverage Walk from ferry to the hotel with big luggage is not convenient
Pros: The location is really nice and convenient, easy to reach. The food from the hotel restaurant is extremely delicious, haven't had so great hotel food for a long time.
Cons: SECOND-HAND SMOKE. If you hate smoking people, don't stay here. There is no airconditioning in the room so you have to open the window to get fresh air, which is great in the region. But the hotel didn't ban smoking at the balcony of the room, so you can breathe in other guests' second-hand smoke EVERY morning for free and make you have a super bad headache and disgusting when you just woke up. This totally ruined our beautiful honeymoon mood.
Pros: Location, views of nature, breakfast, perfect SPA, restaurant, personal of hotel reception ( theirs information by e-mail about parking and ferry costs and timetable some days before visit ).
Pros: The hotel is located in an excellent location to explore the whole region. The hotel is very well appointed with excellent facilities; the spa is particularly well appointed with a good sizes swimming pool. The staff were always friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms are of good size and are comfortable as are the beds. The hotel is maintained to a high standard. There was always a good selection for breakfast and the timings were good. We were able to make full use of the public transport from Kurort Rathen to visit the area and to use it to support our walking and explorations.
Cons: We felt the evening meal choice in the hotel was limited with a restricted menu, which didn't change on a daily basis. However the sister hotel offered a much greater choice and is located nearby. Although WiFi is available in the reception area, its coverage elsewhere is limited, This is now unusual in most hotels which offer full coverage.
Quietly located in the spa town, this hotel is just 1.5 km from the banks of the River Elbe. It offers spacious accommodation with a charming garden and free WiFi access. The classic rooms and the apartment at Hotel Dekorahaus are individually furnished and have a modern bathroom. The apartment also offers a private balcony and a fully equipped kitchen. A hearty buffet breakfast is served each morning in Hotel Dekorahaus’ welcoming dining room. There are many restaurants serving traditional German dishes within a 3-minute drive of the hotel. Toskana Therme (thermal baths) is approximately 1 km from Hotel Dekorahaus and is the ideal place to relax. Nature enthusiasts can discover the local flora and fauna at the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Free parking is provided by Hotel Dekorahaus. Bad Schandau Train Station is a 7-minute drive away.
Pros: We had a whole apartment style room which was lovely and spacious. The lady who checked us in was incredibly helpful and friendly. She let us check in early so we wouldn’t need to leave our bags in the car. She also recommended the Therme Spa which was a wonderful way to spend a Friday night. Great hiking from the hotel. Also breakfast was really good.
Pros: Considering the high season, it was certainly worth its price. The location and the house itself are very quiet and generally pleasant; there is a botanical garden just across the road and you can easily get to the nearby pathways to access the complex net leading to the most famous locations of Saxon Switzerland, still being able to get to Dresden in about fifty minutes.
Cons: Worst thing was the sketchy english language support. As for the rest I have to admit I misunderstood the kind of structure because of the name: it is really a very organized guest house rather than a proper hotel.
Pros: The hotel is set in a picturesque town, a very clean hotel, and a charming terrace for a tasty breakfast. The owners are very courteous and pleasant.
Cons: No air conditioning.Although the owners are very nice, it was hard to communicate because they do not speak English
Pros: Hotel Garni Dekorahaus is in a beautiful location with traditional well maintained rooms and easy access to public transport and Bad Schandau city centre. The host was very nice and took extra pains to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. Though he did not speak any English and my Deutsch is almost non existent, we were able to converse well and he gave several recommendations which helped us have a fantastic experience touring Sachsen Schweiz. Breakfast fare while limited was of good quality. I will definitely stay there again. Dankeschön!!
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helped us with local activities! Suggested the best hikes and views and how to get there.
A stay at Manufaktur Hotel Stadt Wehlen places you in the heart of Stadt Wehlen, a 4-minute drive from Little Saxon Switzerland Miniature Park and 12 minutes from Willy-Troger Stadium. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and ATM/banking services. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: Facilities, breakfast was dinner was good. People are friendly.
Pros: Comfortable bed, location of the hotel (right by the river and close to hiking paths. Good authentic food, nice terrace
Cons: The tiny bathroom
Pros: The Breakfast was amazing and the staff was even better:) I was very happy there , even travelling alone.
Pros: Good breakfast
Pros: Very beautiful hotel, clean, nice beds and bathroom and a very good choice of breakfast.
Cons: The hotel was clearly understaffed (this was also the reason why the restaurant was closed). This became clear with very rushed/impatient staff. We were given the wrong room (this can happen, no problem), but when mentioning this the staff reacted quite irritated (even though we were right and we spoke to the same person who checked us in). Not unfriendly but clearly understaffed. But at this price point you may expect a little more.
Pros: Great location, tiny rooms, but I thought that was ok. The best thing was the shared terrace and the self-service bar (even though it wasn't always stocked). That really made up for the tiny rooms. The view of the river is great.
Cons: The staff wasn't very friendly, bordering on impolite and they were pretty gruff most of the time, especially in the restaurant. The owner is around alot and he is nice, but otherwise we were snubbed a few times, for example when we wanted to eat dinner without a reservation, even though the place was half empty. We were also barked at for not putting our breakfast trash in the bucket on the table because it looks messy, I mean, hello? It's our table, and we're onl holiday, be chill.. The quality of the food in the restaurant is so-so, the pasta is too expensive for what it is. The breakfast is poor compared to other hotels, with weird, sweating meats (eww) and little fruit. They don't change it either so it get's pretty boring after a few days. Also they don't have ANY newspapers lying around, not even a German one. Very disappointing.
Pros: The staff were friendly and thoughtful; the included breakfast was very good, people at reception were pleased to assist tourists
Cons: size of room was a bit tight for three people
Pros: helpful staff, clean and convenient location, nice view
Cons: On the day prior to my leaving a British couple were told that the hotel did not accept visa and they had to use travellers cheques. I was told that the hotel did not accept mastercard. Luckily I had a Maestro card with me. What would have happened if I had not. A visit to a bank for cash. anotherwise excellent stay (you need to speak German to enjoy the hotel properly

Pros: We had very good dinner and breakfast was aslo very good. Not huge variety but very tasty and good quality products. Wellness zone is new and very cozy. Everything was clean. The most we liked was personnel. Very nice and helpful. Location is also convenient for hikes and trips.
Pros: Restaurent was nice with outdoor patio
Cons: Internet and having to reconnect every 45 minutes
Pros: The sauna was fantastic and the food delicious. The location was well suited for hiking.
Cons: They had some sort of plastic protection sheets on the beds between the mattress and the bedsheet. Those caused you to sweat a lot during the night and made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.
Pros: Clean spacious room Separate wc in room Breakfast (cereals, white and dark bread & rolls, fruit, yoghurt, eggs, juices (not fresh) etc Dinner Room to store your bike Good sized parking Location (5min drive to Bastei)
Cons: Carpet in the room
Pros: very good breakfast, staff was kind, rooms are comfortable.
Cons: personally, I do not like the carpets in hotel rooms.
Pros: Great hotel. Clean and cosy. The staff is really friendly and nice. Good for families with kids!

Business, Other Amenities
The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Limited parking is available onsite.
Pros: Close in the center, to the train stations and restaurants. Very clean room and bathroom.
Cons: Unprofessional stuff. I am over 30, I don’t want to be treated and that someone talked to me as a kid.
Pros: The hostel is nice and the room was ok. But the best thing is its location - 5 minutes from the train station and ferry. The supermarket also isn`t far, in 10 minutes walk.
Cons: It would be nice to have towels for visitors.
Pros: The owner was amazing. He gave good tracking route suggestions for the both days that I was there. There's free coffee tea in pantry. Room very clean!
Pros: The owner was very helpful with directions for the walks. The hostel is impeccably clean with a well-equipped kitchen.
Cons: No proper luggage storage facilities and the rooms are not able to be locked.
When you stay at Hotel Elbresidenz an der Therme Bad Schandau in Bad Schandau, you'll be on a river, within a 5-minute walk of Toskana Therme Bad Schandau and National Park Centre. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: SPA facilities, great breakfast, helpful staff, parking garage, good location
Cons: The hotel room card does not open the parking garage: everytime you arrive, you need to call the frontdesk to make them open it for you. No big deal but a bit annoying.
Pros: Great atmosphere to relax, very clean. Very helpful and friendly staff. Big and fresh breakfast with no feeling you have to rush.
Cons: The vegan menu in the restaurant could be better. We had the same remark 2 years ago and for a 90euro dinner (2pers) you would expect better.
Pros: Good Breakfast, great location, lovely Spa.
Cons: Not pet friendly, a high charge for the small dog with no blanket, bowl, snacks offered like in other hotels in Germany, pet not allowed in the restaurant, again the only place in Germany this has been an issue. A large 2 page document with rules & regulations for the pet was slightly off putting. No in room or excursion information in English. Evening dinner menu seemed a little limited. Unable to get availability to book a massage over the 2 days I stayed. Expensive parking at €15 per day as it was a hotel car park when you could park next door for €5.
Pros: The staff are exceptionally courteous and helpful, you never stop feeling caressed and welcome. Breakfast is delicious and the hotel is very close to the ferry pier and bus stops. The free unlimited access to Toscana Therme is a great bonus. It's very relaxing after a day of trekking and walking. You get a guest card and can use the ferry and bus 252 to Schoena or Schmilka for free.
Cons: Sometimes it looks like the hotel is trying to save on the smallest things: the supplies of soap or plastic hygiene bags in the bathroom were never replenished.
Pros: Free entrance to Toskana therme. Nice location. Hotel bar with professional staff.
Cons: 4stars accomodation for price of five stars hotel. Missing king size bed. No air condition.
Pros: Good location, breakfest
Cons: Signs such as directions, letters sent to the room and other info are only in German language. The room looks much better on pictures, furniture is old and worn out. We wanted to order breakfest to the room, it is only possible day in advance. They have terrible quality towels and on top of everything, they brought yellow home dyed towels (the label was colored too) probably to hide that they were worn out. This is not 5 star hotel.
Pros: Pleasant stay at the hotel. Very attentive staff. Toskana therme 100m walk - great bonus included in the price. Hotel swimming pool and welness on the top floor very relaxing - not many people on Friday evening. Food in the restaurant very good (steak was fantastic), excelent service. Great variety breakfast. Underground garage at extra cost was worth it.
Pros: Breakfast. Bed was comfortable
Cons: Spa area not relaxing at all. Children running and yelling around, no ambient music. Too expensive for the offer. There are similar four star or even 3 star hotels. Toskana therme also too full run-down and not relaxing
Cons: Got charged more than what I was quoted when I checked in. Fees I did not know about
With a stay at Landgasthof Neue Schänke Hotel in Koenigstein, you'll be a 4-minute drive from Koenigstein Fortress and 8 minutes from Elbe-Freizeitland Koenigstein. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
With a stay at Hotel Lindenhof in Koenigstein, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Koenigstein Fortress and Elbe-Freizeitland Koenigstein. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff, restaurant, location
Cons: Adding tomatoes to the breakfast. Except that it was great!!
Pros: The service in the hotel was amazing - so helpful, generous and kind. I felt like a very welcome guest. The breakfast was good, as was the lovely terrace for evening meal and a drink in summer evenings! We had a huge room with a view right over the river; the location an easy 5-10 min walk from the train station. Thank you!
Cons: Nothing - all great.
Pros: The room was large and comfortable. The hotel had it's own parking. The staff very friendly and accommodating. We arrived after the kitchen closed at 9 but were offered the oppotunity to eat. The patio overlooking the Elbe was great to have a drink on in the evening and coffee in the morning. Really enjoyed the stay.
Cons: Rooms were a little tired and hall carpets very worn but the positives definately outweighed these small negatives.
Pros: The hotel was just a short walk from the railway station. The views of the surrounding valley were excellent, especially from the restaurant where the food served in the evening is of a very high quality (get down early if you want to sit in the window as it gets busy!) The breakfast buffet was substantial and well stocked and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely be staying again!
Pros: Excellent location, excellent staff, lovely room with a view.
Pros: I loved looking out of our balcony at the river below and the forests on the other side of the river showing their fall colors in October. The breakfast was so delicious and the breakfast room had large windows looking over the river.
Located in Koenigstein, Pension Bomätscher is within a 15-minute drive of Bohemian Switzerland National Park and Koenigstein Fortress. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Quite far away from the S-bahn station.
Pros: A view from the window was to the river.
Cons: Stuff didn't speak english at all. It wasn't easy to communicate. We had to pay a little less more than it was written in the order for no reason. We ordered a room in the pension but got it in the camping place.
Pros: Great location right on the river. Good-size room and balcony with views. Nice outdoor terrace for meals. Staff were friendly. Amazing adventure park next door for kids.
Pros: Great accommodation, new, clean, near to Elbe river. Lots of hiking possibilities in the close environment and our kids went for some swimming in the Elbe upon our return.
Cons: Unfortunately with a train Railway close to the Pension and some truck traffic in the morning
Pros: We had a perfectly located room with the terace and view on the river. Because it was sunny morning, we could have our breakfast outside by the river.
Cons: Thin walls.
Cons: First of all the pension offer family room, where they put in the corridor beds for children. Room was really small. They were not prepared for a big amount of turists. They allocate all guests sitting at the same table. Personel can not speak English.
Pros: Nice hotel near beautiful scenery of Bastei. Nice views on hills and river. Both restaurant and breakfast are good
Pros: The staff was very helpful. I believe it is the strongest feature of the place, however the location, and facilities (great restaurant) was also great. There is a small amusement part next to the hotel, and children loved it.

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good dinners
Cons: The room they have recently renovated with garden view is nicely done up, but the overall place has more of a hostel/motel flair.
Pros: The couple who run the place were so kind and helpful. The surroindings and breakfast was amazing aswell. Definately coming back next time in Sachsen!
Pros: Breakfast good choice of fresh bread and good coffee. Excellent starting point for walking in the environment. Reasonable selection of dishes for evening dinner. Friendly staff. Outside eating facility
Cons: 3 persons room rather cramp. Interior outdated. Intermediate cleaning of garbage only. Little bit sound contact between rooms. Leaky shower-head.
Pros: Great location. Close to hiking. The place was in good shape. You're not staying at the Ritz, but it was very clean, the staff was nice and beer delicious. I did not try any lunch or dinner, and the breakfast was solid standard European fare.
