This was our second time to Hanaingen and it was great both times. The inn is very well maintained and comfortable. The welcome snacks/green tea are always nice, and the breakfast, based nearly entirely on beans (hanaingen is a type of kidney bean and they have an ingen shop next door) was delicious and fun. The owners/staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. The inn is a two minute walk to the main plaza, so the location is perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although on the small side. There is a toilet, but no shower/bath, but that is because there are four private hot spring baths on the first floor. Very luxurious.
There were 4 private onsen rooms. Amenities were good. Location is near the train and bus station and yubatake too.
Parking space is limited. It was like just 6 lots packed and its already full when we check-in at around 6pm. Yet we parked in the nearby state-operated car park and the ryokan offered us a parking coupon which covers the full charge overnight. Private onsen is nice. Delicious breakfast and welcome sweets. The hostess even teach us how to make matcha which is a nice experience.
We managed to park in another car park but we have to take our luggage from the car park to the hotel so its not perfect
absolutely top ... it is my favorite in Kusatsu onsen
The room and all facilities are very clean. Location is perfect as it is located just few minutes walk from Bus Station and a few minutes walk to Yubatake. The room was small but it was all okay for me and my husband. Staffs are not so well with english but they are all have good service mind and did their best in communication.
