New design. Comfortable ,clean room. Restaurant was very nice. The spa not up to the expectation. The see view was not a real see view having the crane just infront of the room(107).
Room was modern, very good location. Resaurant did not look inviting. Reception lounge and bar did not look warming. Lacked any character.
Excellent location for every season. Very interestring mix of a simple fishing village and a modern Hotel. Everything was perfect.
Good spacious rooms, friendly employees, safe car park in the hotel garage although getting in and out takes a little patience. Very nice location in the hart of the city. No beaches within 1km
Fantastic view over the harbour from the rooftop pool and jacuzzi! Excellent location, super central but not right in the middle of everything The aircon nearly froze us ;-) It can't completely be turned off so there was a huge difference between outside 35C and inside
Nice design, confortable bed, big and clean room and also very well furnished and equipped. We had a pleasant back view room with balcony. Very nice around area, with plenty of good restaurants and terraces. The location veeery far from the beach and nearby the noisily concert place from the harbour. They did not refill every day our consumable from the room (like shampoo and sugar). Also, the parking is very expensive, but you do not have other alternatives in the area. And last but not least, the smell: very strong smell of new painting, new plastic carpets and new
The nice view at the harbor
Modern and American-style hotel. I liked the location and the facilities of the hotel.
Great value. The hotel is very nice and well laid out.
Room was spacious with lovely view over the harbour. Breakfast was excellent - 10 out of 10 to the member of staff who provided breakfast all on his own and could not do enough for you and also with a smile! We did not get to sleep until after 2.00 am with the noise from the market directly outside our window. On the Sunday morning we were awoken at 5.00 am with lots of noise and bangs as they were setting up the local food market! Very loud music went on to 12 midnight that evening from a nearby disco on a ship! So did not get much sleep!
The staff was friendly and polite. The room was very clean with a large balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfast food was varied and fresh. We had some difficulty finding the hotel after sunset; some street signs were missing.
Very quiet That the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday night
nothing the bathroom awful!!!
The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and professional. Room was very nicely furnished, but a little on the small side. The hotel is a couple of miles from the centre of La Ciotat.
Helpful staff, good breakfast, good parking, clean and well presented with decent air con, quiet location. Short walk to choice of restaurants etc. Beach small rocky and although quiet, it is not really a beach but then it is only a few minutes walk to the main resort beaches. Bathroom as small as it looks in pictures!
The hotel was welcoming, relaxed and comfortable. It was difficult to find by road and was a bit too far out of La Ciotat.
For me is the main factor that the customer of my company I have to visit is directly located by the hotel. I'm not sure if the restaurant is part of the IBIS hotel, but the service is poor if you have to wait neraly ten minutes before a waiter comes to your table. The prices of the food are a little bit to expensive for what you get.
Good sized room with large sink and properly working shower. it had very little french character especially in the bedrooms
Clean rooms with clima, new bathroom. The hotell is far awy from the beach and the bed is too hart.
close to the business, dining outside by the swimming pool
The hotel facilities were reasonable - and due to the absence of personal transportation the bar and restaurant were important to me as the location is quite remote from the town
It was quiet, had a good restaurant, ease of parking It was very difficult to find unless you entered the town from a certain way. Even then, finding your way back to the hotel from the city center was confusing with so many round-a-bouts and poor signage.
affordable and a good location for our needs.
A small hotel in a lovely quiet location, set high on a cliff with only pine trees and the sea in front, it offers clean, comfortable accommodation, with a pleasant breakfast served on the terrace.
We arrived late due to heavy traffic on the Motorway. The host was very accommodating in seeing that we got into our room for the night. Otherwise we would have been in trouble.
Basic comfortable fair value
Good location, close to the sea, nice cosy room, free parking and internet access. I wish there was a fridge and air conditioning.
Nothing No bath or sink plugs. No shower curtain. Depressing decor. Rude and unhelpful owner. Disorganised parking.
Very nice view. There is a beautiful public beach right next to the hotel. It is difficult to get to the hotel from the center of La Ciotat, the nearest bus stop is located in 25 minutes walk. Breakfast is quite poor.
This hotel is in a pleasant wooded location a short walk from the small town of St Cyr-sur-Mer where there are a variety of restaurants and a sandy beach. If you don't have a car there is a bus service to La Ciotat and a railwayway station which is about 45 minutes walk from the hotel (25 mins from St Cyr-sur-Mer) connecting to Marseille, La Ciotat, Cassis, etc. It is a fairly basic hotel with no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities and it is not air conditioned which is fine in early September but might be an issue in July and August.
Hotel tres plaisant, vue superbe la mer a vos pieds pour une baignade avant le diner, nous avons adore le balcon le soir tres calme et relaxant. A place to relax especially if you want to be away from the town, not far 10 mins. Lovely to relax and have a swim in the med just across the road - Beautiful!! I recommand to get away from the city but you can visit La Ciotat town/village which is also beautiful and plenty of lovely restaurants and market stalls hard to resist!!
Nice and tranquil the staff were helpfull and accomidating
Watching the huge waves on the Med outside our room, as a storm blew through. Sitting outside on their porch area with a glass of wine watching the dogs and their owners stroll past. Ants in the room
We stayed in the apartment which was very well equipped and good value. Only thing was you had to check in and out at the hotel, which is fine if you are travelling by car.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant experience.
nice location, great design ants invasion when I left food in my room (#9)
It is well located, on the seaside and it has parking facilities which is useful in this area
location Hotel staff screwed up our room. They were not very helpful or caring to fix it. Rooms are not cleanly enough nor do they truly represent what you see on the internet.
The appartment was luxurious, clean and contained everything we needed.
We had booked a standard room before going away and on arrival we requested an upgrade to a sea view which we were given from the 2nd night. The staff were excellent and very helpful and arranged the transfer of our things from one room to another. The room was very clean and everything was in good working order. No bad points. The room at the back of the hotel was very clean and functional but only had one small window which you could not look out of but the room at the front had a balcony overlooking the sea.
It is an old and picturesque. Nice to have a price list by the minibar. The bar downstairs is nice. The staff is nice. The interior design of the room was really not pretty. There were no bin bags in any of the waste bins in the room. The hotel is to far from the city centre if you consider the general level of taxi/transport service, opening hours of the shops etc in La Ciotat.
The hotel was advertised as being in Cassis but was actually down the coast in a less desirable area. It was fine but we left early. The staff was good, room fine but not enough to do in the small town. Location
Seeing the Sea through the windows while in my bed! The room was a bit small...
The beautiful setting and surrounding in Cassis. Nice staff.
Definately not worth its price
The location was good, 5 minute walk to the port. It was really convenient that there was a decent-size parking lot at the hotel, too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were 4 people and had the junior suite - one double bed, one fold out couch (a comfortable one!)...which was quite good value for Cassis.
Hotel staff was very frendly
Value for money. Beautiful town of Cassis, within walking distance to city center and beaches. We should have stayed longer! For 3 adults, the room was a bit cramped but we were only there for 1 night and we knew going in that this may be a problem for us, not the hotel.
Very nice view of the pool from the room. Bed was very comfortable. Loved having the mini fridge and access to the internet via the hotel computer. 1. Better linghting in the water closet. 2. Asked about needing reservations for Fleurs de Thym after it was recommended to us. Was told there was no need during mid-week (it was Wednesday). Got to the restaruant about 20 minutes after it opened and was told yoiu always need reservations and they could not accomodate us.
Outside pool and gardn. Friendly ,helpful staff/ Our room 306 was dark and compared with our friends at front of hotel which had a larger balcony with view at same price.Toilet was ridiculously small and difficult to use. I feel we should have had a reduction for this.
The weather was lovely! Nice hotel, but facilities didn't justify the price per night. However, it was comfortable and the location was good. No, it was fine.
At walking distance from the port, good parking; breakfast could have more variety (for example every day another cheese …).
Location The hotel is "stuck in the middle". Quality of rooms and hotel facilities is mediocre at best. Prices (high) are not justified for what you get. Staff is not polite. You do not feel welcome as a family and you will not get the quality you pay for as a business/solo traveller.
the location, sauna & pool
Lovely bright spacious room.Staff very courteous and helpfull. No english language television bar CNN.Hotel advertised as having satelite tv.
The room and friendly atmosphere A very expensive breakfast
The location is delightful and this is why we visited the Hotel again. This lovely chic Hotel is looking a bit tired. There are too many different themes of decoration when there should be one throughout. The corridors need re-decorating - at the moment they are like being in an institution - creams and whites with a reflecting paint would be perfect with a modern lighting system and ornate mirrors with heavy ornate painted wooden frames and foliage murals highlighted with spotlights - to create the chic ambience of style and luxury in these important internal areas. We were in Room 114 which was delightful once we were inside. This was a sexy, romantic chic Hotel when I visited her several years ago - it wouldn't take a lot of expenditure to restore her style once more. Our friends were disappointed too
Its a hotel that I would like always to come back for. Restaurants are good but expensive.
Great location, good facilities (eg golf course) Decoration, fittings and furnishings felt a bit tired - ready for a make-over. Couldn't make air-conditioning work (could have been my ineptitude and for a one-night stopover couldn't be bothered to take it up with hotel staff!)
By far and away the best thing about this hotel was its location and view Service was highly variable, the wi-fi did not work in our room as it was too far from the router but staff would not admit it or send someone to sort it out. Food at restaurant was way over-priced and only one restaurant open in peak season despite advertising two.
The staff was charming, knowledgeable and helpful. The view was wonderful and the pool area was lovely. This hotel has seen better days. The rooms are spartan and the entire place needs a paint job. All the woodwork is scratched and dinged. For a "luxury" hotel it's short on amenities--no newspaper at your door, no individual soaps, shampoo, moisturizer, shower cap, etc. The fitness center had a few elipticals and exercyles. It was in a (stained and worn) carpeted area off the indoor pool. The heat and humidity from the pool and hot tub made the room unusable. The tennis courts were neglected. A medium grade Best Western is a better value.
The peasceful relaxed atmosphere of the hotel and setting.Very helpful staff. Spacious rooms with dressing gowns and slippers included. Difficulty in finding a parking space, if the golfers hadn't left before we came back late afternoon.
the location, on the beach nothing
Accommodations are very basic, but the staff is friendly and the hotel is not poorly located. Free parking in the back of the building, free wireless Internet.
Its location is very good to access the beach. This hotel has no lift to upper floors but the young boy, maybe the son of the master of this hotel, will carry liggage. So I think this hotel is very familiar and honesty.
Staff, location and parking all excellent. The 'guard dog' was very friendly and good natured. The food was fine with substantial breakfast buffet and choice of 2 restauarants dependng on your mood and appetite. The bed was a little too short for me (I'm 6 foot 2 inches). Balcony looked out onto the Med but every time we opened the doors we smelt the smoke from the adjoining wood fired pizzeria.
Excellent location for people who want to go to Paul Ricard Test Track Not working VISA machine.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, view of beach wonderful, clean, good breakfast, loved having 2 single beds for kids instead of one big one to share.
Location to beach and local shops and resturants, good breakfast and a very good resturant, free parking Common areas need a facelift
The staff were excellent, as were the owners. the position could not have been better, the food was excellent both in the resturant & pizza area and the free parking a bonus. ps I liked the dog.
Very pleasant. Comfortable. Helpful staff Terrible meal in restaurant
The stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff of the hotel was very helpfull and gave a lot of information about the area.
The hotel location was very good, staff at reception and chamberperson very helpful and polite. The hotel was very dated, although everything was in good working order.
Good location, clean and friendly place to stay ... 5 min.walk from the port and city center.
The friendly staff (all except one female receptionist) The size of the rooms. The extra toilet in the corridor. Very close to the old harbour and also close to the beach. Not much traffic
The staff was very nice and helpful, all spoke good English. The room was spacy and clean.
Friendly staff, great central location, comfortable bed, balcony, lift, free parking The shower was a bit fierce and the bathroom could do with redecorating
Very nice and helpful staff. Hotel is near to city center and bus station. Very good wi-fi connection. Bathroom need some renovation.
The staff at the hotel were helpful and pleasant. It was situated about 3 minutes walk from the waterfront and restaurants. Our room was on the 4th floor but there was a lift. The room and en-suite facilities were very basic but proved value for money.
I liked the location near to the center of the town. No need for the car. WiFi signal not strong enough or the capacity too low.
price and location
This hotel is situated very close to the beach and to the centre of the restaurant strip Not any fault of the hotel, but parking is a nightmare and extraordinarily expensive if the public carpark is used.
great central location, good price and rooms with a balcony are worth having it has a very loud sound system some nights of the week - but was quite on our thursday night
Located by harbour/beach. Interesting cabin design of room - influence of Le Corbusier?
The hotel was well situated right on the port. The room had been recently refurbished and was spacious and comfortable. It was good value for money. The hotel bar/restaurant was very noisy and the noise was loud uptil at least 01.30 which kept me awake.
Great location and friendly staff. Price also good for the region. Room was spacious and comfortable, just what we wanted and better than many others we stayed in in Provence. Parking was, predictably, a nightmare, but that is not the fault of the hotel!
Very pleasant room, excellent location, good value and helpful staff. Shower not the best.
location, very helpful manager (gave me a lift to the station when there were no taxis)
Friendly staff (even managing to refrain from laughing at my awful attempts at French). Room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. A delight to have a bed with such a wonderfully firm mattress for my dodgy back. Great central location.
The hotel was clean. That's about the only thing I liked. There is no elevator, Situated above a night club, lights are turned off at night in the hallways (you need to switch them on so they would re- open), in general this place sucks. go there only if you have no other option or if the price is convinient for you.
The room was nice and tidy, couldn't check in till 2:00 but they let us drop off our bags earlier Couldn't move in until 2:00.
Location No balcony or lift
Very conveniently situated a couple of minutes on foot from the town centre. Use of public secure car park across the road with access using a card supplied by the hotel, at a preferential and cheap rate. The room was adequate and overlooked the garden ,but the road at the front is not busy during the night, thus I imagine very little traffic noise. The buffet breakfast was as much as we needed. The hotel is basic, but very clean and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The grouting in the shower suffers from the effects of mould (but is clean) and could be renewed. We would certainly stay there again.
Incredibly kind and welcoming staff - small, family-owned hotel, located in city center - good advice about what to do and where to eat in La Ciotat. Also, for a reasonable price - €54 - I had a private single colorful room (#17)with a private bathroom, an incredible view, and unlimited wi-fi (breakfast cost extra). You do not pay through Booking.com - payment happens there. Your American credit card may not work upon payment.
The staff were courteous and helpful I expected the accommodation to be of a higher standard. The bathroom was too small and the shower was too small
Staff, especially Bastien(?) was very helpful, brilliant English, phoned when we translations for stuff, told us about the local walks etc. Bed was very comfy, not too soft. Shower hot and good water pressure.
Friendly staff, Close to port vieux, Very relaxed, Cheap price Breakfast small and limited (if your used to big breakfasts)
location was good but parking was hopeless The hotel could spend money on providing a pleasant interior. The room was small and the shower and bathroom were not up to British standard. Tiles were old, broken and cracked and black in the shower. There is no need for that in 2008.
Clean room No tv
friendly staff, free internet and easy to find
The owner/staff were very servic minded, they had good service. They did what they could do for you. The breakfast. The room was a little bit tired, but the staff and hotel were great.
The view is amazing overlooking the marina. The location is great because you step out the door of the hotel onto the marina and you can walk from there to any of the restaurants or around the marina to the beach. The rest of the place was pretty awful. Hardly decorated except for a few oddly placed prints of exotic animals. The room itself was so plain, with nothing on the walls except for the tiny TV in the tippy-top corner of the wall (for which they had to give you the remote when you check in). The room was so tiny it was hard to squeeze by the foot of the beds. The bathroom was also tiny, with just a single stall standing shower that was not lit as part of the bathroom lighting. The room in general was just not clean, and you could feel debris sticking to your feet when walking about barefoot (shortly after checking in). The worst part about this place was that you could hear every little cough, footstep, and even turns of keys in room doors throughout the whole building the entire night and morning. It was nearly impossible to get any sleep because of this. To add to the mess, a storm came through and knocked out the power, and it seemed Hotel Le Golf was the last to get it back, resulting in a mass exodus, including us. Do yourself a favor - for the same price, stay at the Best Western up the street.
