What can I expect from the hotel's location?
The hotel is at a beautiful place surrounded by nature with gorgeous views. There are so many different birds you could watch for days. The waterfall is really close, so don't hesitate to visit it.
What are the pros of staying at the Arenal Waterfall Lodge?
The villas are so nice and surrounded by a lot of nature, they have a really good rustic vibe. The honeymoon suite was amazing, like living in a jungle house, but with all the home amenities. The villa we stayed in was amazing, with lots of space and great amenities. The rooms were very clean and the beds really comfortable. The staff were all very nice.
What are the cons of staying at the Arenal Waterfall Lodge?
The pictures are totally misleading. They only display pictures from a separate lodge, but if you stay in a standard room you’ll have a very depressing bedroom with no view at all and a different pool. The bathroom was obsolete and the sleeping room was dark and very small. Also, there was only one socket. The road coming into the resort is in bad shape.
What practical information should I know about the hotel's amenities?
Nice rooms with a coffee machine and fridge. Beautiful garden setup to walk around. Staff is mostly helpful. The breakfast is good with 3 choices. When it rains, the room with an iron roof gets very loud. The Observatory walk which they offer as an additional benefit is really not worth going.
What are the highlights of the hotel's offerings?
Great stay with a family of 4. The villa sleeps 6 actually. The views are phenomenal and the private pool is a treat. Lots of privacy. The night tour with Miguel was AWESOME, we saw lots of beautiful frogs, a few snakes, and felt great to stretch legs up the side of the mountain after a long drive. He took lots of time to speak in Spanish and English so everyone had a chance to learn about any critters of interest. The seclusion of the villa was perfect and plenty of room for the 5 of us - great views of wildlife from the porch and terrific to have the whole kitchen set up.

Consider the Noise Level
Some guests reported thin walls and noise from neighboring rooms. If you are sensitive to noise, consider bringing earplugs or requesting a quieter room.

Verify Pool Availability
