Service and comfort. Good breakfast. Location too far from the beach. Rental car required.
The Monte Santo resort had only been open for one week prior to our visit so was still experiencing "start up" issues. However, this in no way spoilt our enjoyment of the holiday. Staff were very accommodating and informative. Service under the circumstances was excellent.
Wonderful resort, very luxurious.
The quietness We are sure it will be nice but it was so deserted it was like being on a desert island.
I loved the quality and design/layout of the apartment and resort itself and could easily have moved in and stayed there!!! The staff were delightful too. I would have liked more equipment in the gym - a cross trainer, would be good.
new and beautifully appointed Heating hard to understand . It would have been nice if there had been some tea/coffee sachets available and some detergent for the dishwasher
the view to ocean and the wonderful room nothing, all o.k.
Dining in the resort was excellent. The indoor and outdoor pools were also very enjoyable. Nothing
Everything was of an excellent standard. A great place for families.
The resort itself was lovely. The apartments and poolside were well kept and beautiful. Our fridge, iron and central control system did not work
The hotel was clean and the rooms were well maintained . the pool area was safe for children . The pool area could be improved by regular maintenance and the additional bedding was not comfortable . the quality of food was poor , we booked for 2 adults and 2 children but the room was too small for 4 and we incurred an additional charge for our second child .
We were put in a north facing apartment so never got any sun on the balcony. This was despite there being a low occupancy when we visited in April
Hotel apartment was of excellent standard, clean, regularly serviced and very comfortable. Pool area divided into three sections - one suitable for younger children and two others for adults and older children. Not all the facilities where open, for example coffee bar at the reception did not open (even though we visted at a peak holiday period). Mini market available on site however not adequately stocked. Entertainment only two nights per week.
Modern, spacious apartment, good sized pool area with nice facilities. Service at the poolsise snack bar was a bit slow
Very family orientated but quiet, exactly what we were looking for, very comfortable & modern facilities in a lovely location - we will return No toddler play area and the snack bar service can be very slow
The pool was very nice, particularly good for kids because of the baby pool and the beach entry feature. They had activities supplied for kids at the pool which was nice for my young son. The rooms were clean and modern, although the layout of our room wasn't the best. They cleaned the room daily. The minimarket provided some basic foods which helped us avoid having to go far away for food. Relatively close to city centre of Ferragudo. Some nice views to the river. We didn't use the skyline bar, but it appeared to be a nice feature. The restaurant food wasn't very good, it was acceptable, but I wouldn't recommend it. Decent access to Portimao and other locations, but you definitely need a car. Very nice resort - not excellent.
The pools were lovely, the apartments spacious and clean and it was a lovely quiet location Lack of a choice of places to eat in the evening, no room service. View from the apartment
The convenience to all the shops and the closeness to the motorway Very poor equipment in the gymnasium and the fact you had to pay to use the spa facilities.
Location is excellent Hotel Staff could have been a little bit friendly especially on front desk. When we arrived at front desk our small child got very sick & the Staff on reception did not do anything to help or assist. Not very customer friendly. Staff in breakfast room were a bit better & the staff in the Jupiter Spa were very polite & friendly.
The hotel is situated in the centre of praia da rocha and is 500m from one of the finest beaches in europe. Only down side the beds are single 2 single beds pushed together to make a double.
Central location, 5 star service, as my wife is a wheelchair user the manager had upgraded us to a larger room with full sea view, reserved us a private parking space and without any prompting left us a complimentary basket of friut for my birthday. Disabled facilities not very good, no rooms with a walk in shower
The staff were extremely helpful
The room and the view was fantastic yes we did not have an iron in the room:)
The breakfast. The quality of the bed The room was awful in terms of decoration (clearly not suitable for a 4 star hotel). The air conditioned didn't work properly. The water pressure was low.
Cleansiness, centrally located, close to beach, great sea view, room size. Small pool, poor quality breakfast, unfriendly staff, hidden costs- i.e. no iron resulting in having to pay for laundry.
Lovely Hotel, spotlessly clean, with good friendly staff. There is an excellent spa and the location which is practically on the beach is an ideal spot for sunbathing or walking because of the boardwalk which is the full length of the beach. There was nothing that I didn't like.
The see view.
The pool was warm and clean. Not up to 5 star standard. Breakfast very poor for vegitarians. Hotel and Casino look tired and need updating.
Reception Staff could br friendlier
the hotel is in the heart of the resort with easy access to all facilities
As I was holidaying on my own I felt very safe and the staff were very helpful. I didn't have a balcony. I would book sea view next time.
Good breakfast, nice room, Nice staff, good outdoor area, nice terrace with bar just inside the door. They had a very poor wifi system, it didn`t work in my room, I needed to sit in the lobby with my laptop. This is a 5 star hotel? And of course it should work in the rooms as well.
Close to the beach.Comfort and staff so friendly.
The view from the hotel is fantasric, great prices for food, in and around the hotel It was a bit old fashioned
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel due to the location and standard of the hotel
Location the hotel in its self was ok the room was shocking
Perfect location , the strip that it is on is fantastic for restaurants and shops. The views are beautiful. The pool does not get much sun and No Wifi at present.
A brand new Hotel with great design ans style in the centre of Praia da Rocha in Portimao right on the beach with private parking..I advise staying in the junior suites, just perfect. Nothing,
everything: exelent location, staff, room facilities, plenty of space, pacefull atmosphre, good internet acess, room designe.
Excellent location of the hotel, very kind staff, new equipment of the facilities, very clean facilities... Great location for visiting several beaches in Algarve! Breakfast should be improved (poor selection).
Great location. Free internet. Very helpful staff. Missing wifi
Modern well furnished room. Good breakfast selection Noise overnight from street as room was on ground floor. Pool small and as in basement had no outlook Hadn't booked car park and there is no parking adjacent to hotel
Lovely hotel, modern and very clean. It is ideally located beside beach and in close proximity to shops restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend Rocha Hotel Apartamento to family and friends. The buffet breakfast provided a wide variety of breakfast dishes - the only criticism I would have is that the hot food section was by no means warm let alone hot!!
Proximity to the beach was good and rooms were big and comfortable, bathroom well equipped. Some of the female staff at reception were a bit rude - some customer service skills would be of benefit to them
great variety for the breakfast, lift very quick, very clean and bright, staff very helpful, reasonable priced. room for three using bed sofa there was very little space for coffee table
great friendly service. excellent clean modern contemporary decor. locatino is awesome. not the hotels fault but the music from the hotel across the road was very annoying.
Beautiful Views No
It has a lovely position facing due south so that the one is in full sun every day. The spa, with gym, indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, 4 different hot & cold shower jets (tropical, side, rain & mist) and a relaxing water bed room was the best that we encountered. Accommodation, food and service were superb. All in all a great relaxing holiday and the added bonus of lovely weather in mid November. One cannot stay there without a car and there is a nasty 2km drive on a windy single track road down to the hotel. It could be a bit hairy as there were a few sharp bends and occasionally a herd of goats to negotiate! However once one arrived it was wonderful.
The rooms were great, facilities fantastic as was the location The restaurant was very poor and expensive, we complained and noone seemed to care. They also need to at least rent plates, cups, kettle, etc in the kitchen as what is the point of having one if it is empty?
We enjoyed the quiet, the landscape, and the little cove beach, also the availability of good places to eat. breakfast was good, but dinner was not.
Great location on top of the cliffs. Quiet setting. The kitchen was void of any equipment upon arrival. We had to ask for every knife, spoon, plate etc. The lighting in the apartment especially in the living room is poor.
the location is great, the area is very quiet, close to the sea.The staff is very nice and friendly. the rooms are 5 stars standard The pool is too cold, should be heated, also the jacuzzi is not warn enough. The food at the restaurant is awful and overpriced. the breakfast is ok.
the two bedrooned suite was spacious andvery quiet pool was being mended spa dirty however gave us free half board while pol out of action.
Beautiful location with access to lovely beach.Remote enough to feel away from the raz a matazz.Massage was super. The food was less than ordinary at extraordinary price
Restaurant food at lunch and dinner was poor and very over priced.
Room was excellent. Location quiet but accessible. Front desk staff were not great and when asked to recommend a restaurant, unhelpful. All other service staff were excellent.
The Vilalara is the most beautiful relaxing , peaceful and magical place I have ever stayed at. The staff are exceptional , the location is unimaginable and the peace and quiet is a tonic for life. I will visit the Vilalara many more times in the future without doubt. We have traveled extensively but this has got the be the top of our list for summer vacation. We hereby thank all the staff at Vilalara for a wonderful stay. there truly is nothing to dislike
Excellent hotel in beautiful gardens, very nice staff, perfect for a resting family holiday. High standart new rooms. We were there a couple of years ago and will return for sure in the future! The Spa is wonderful. Only quite expensive. More attention should be given to room cleaning for this luxury hotel
marvellous place! excellent dinner. Not so good service for price and quality of food. Improvement is needed in staff. We ordered a glass of "Morgado de Ste Catherine" and another wine was served with no explanation.
Comfort and quietness. Should have towel service at beach
Wonderful grounds everything on site
Spacious room, fully carpeted, well furnished; low rise accommodation; beautiful gardens and cliff top location. Daily change of complimentary pool towels. Restaurant prices are much too high.
A peaceful retreat with plenty of places not to do anything...... restaurant choices on site were limited
The resort is fascinating with breathtaking views of the beach. The view overlooking the pool is spectacular. The hotel has its own private beach which is beautiful. The hotel is landscaped very well with beautiful plants and flowers. The rooms are big and spacious, and the staff is very courteous. Would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone considering visiting Faro. The hotel should have had a tea/ coffe maker in the room. For the price you charge, this is an expectation. To call for room service costs 5 euro per person which normally other similar resorts worldwide do not chanrge
Superb location, great facilties and very friendly staff
The variety of facilities, the high standard, the staff, and the wonderful gardens. Beds could be better. Do not like two singles pushed together to make a double or king. Need better beds.
hotel was of a very high standard and we were very well treated by the staff. not really
Well kept hotel and equally smart guests. Excellent food & beverage. Interior decor style needs updating.
excellent service by staff, beautiful grounds, private beach & overall pleasant ambience. Good buffet breakfast Forget the bar snacks - both too expensive and very poorly prepared. The main restaurant was acceptable - just. The food was OK but not exceptional however the prices were very high. You can easily find a better dining experience outside the hotel so only go to this restaurant if you really don't want to leave the hotel surroundings.
Everything was brilliant, with the exception of below. Food was not up to a good standard, but was not overpriced.
We were impressed with the staff who were very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of repeat clientele for that reason The Hotel has a few restaurants to choose from so you can choose to dine in any one of them. We liked Arte Nautica as it is on the beach in Armacao de Pera - stunning location and brilliant fish, or you can have a snack The location isnt so great as it is out of town. If you are not mobile you will need to hire a car or take a taxi which are cheap and plentiful. The staff seemed to push their very expensive New Year dinner and there wasnt much choice. to dine elsewhere. They also naughtily put the costs of two New Years dinner on our bill when we hadnt even booked or attended the event which goes to show that behind the staff smiles there is the pound signs motive to make as much money as possible from their guests! We were not convinced the hospitality was genuine for that reason especially when the staff all repeated the same sentence - is there anything we can do for you. It seemed they attended a management school and were taught to say that
Variety of restaurants, quality of food, amazing beach with beds and professional level of SPA. Servants in the restaurants expressed quite strong dissatisfaction if the tips were less than 10 %.
In addition to the above, I liked the peace & tranquility & space in general, in particular the spacious grounds, gardens etc. I was disappointed with the quality of furniture on my balcony given the fact that I observed furniture of quality in similar suites where I was based, furniture on my balcony was that of a 1 or 2 star Hotel, I have already indicated my disaproval on the personal questionaire at the Hotel, I would at some stage like a report directly to me regarding the unsuitable furniture on my balcony, I stayed in 7 Oasis Parc at the Hotel.
view was great location to town good refrigerator in room although the temperature was too high view from bar was extraordinary slow check in didn,t get set aside group room rate OK room view no lock in safe kleenex empty several days slow!! service in restaurant low quality food horrible bed and worse pillows front of bath tub was fiber board charged for ice very poor lighting in room air conditioning never got to set temperature even after being on 24 hours
Sea views; swimming pool; reception and resteraunt staff No, could not fault it
the hotel was busy but it was still a nice quite place to relax and take it easy, and the view from the bar is fantastic. the hotel rooms could do with a bit of a makeover and for what you pay to stay there i don't think you should have to pay for the safe in your room.
Proximity to Carvoiero. Relaxed atmospher. Nothing to dislike.
Everything was delightful. Scenery magnificent. Nice walking trail, beautiful pool. Facility offered extras if wanted like ping pong table, video games.
The location is excellent, so easy to walk to all the restaurants and bars. The food and drink in the hotel were very resaonably priced. There was loads of space round the pool and even though the hotel was very full I had no trouble getting a sun lounger. Definitely going back for another weekend! The bathroom was in need of a refit but this did not affect my stay.
This is a very nice place, excellent location for beaches, shops, restaurants etc. The staff are super friendly and always anxious to please.
comfort and friendliness no
The weather, beaches, local restaurants. Rooms slightly outdated, entertainment likewise.
Everything was on pointe... I enjoyed my stay there.. definitely will choose this hotel again... thanks for the great experience. The location, view was excellent, was a clean hotel, very helpful stuff. Thanks to Helena for booking my ticket...
Location is outstanding, particularly as we had a sea view. Very relaxing atmosphere aimed at the maturer holiday maker or those seeking a bit of peace and quiet or with families who are well behaved...
friendleness of staff efficency of service
Cliff top location, spacious public rooms, very friendly staff, well equipped kitchenette in room, good sized bathroom. Breakfast and dinner buffets both good variety and quality. Restaurant service excellent. Parking is extremely limited. Bathroom amenities were rather sparse. Price of dinner buffet higher than usual in our experience of 4 star hotels.
Hotel has a great location with easy access to Golf and beaches. The amenities are plentiful and of a high quality. Indoor and outdoor pools with a small fitness center and Jacuzzi and Sauna. Breakfast Buffet is good. The price of Internet service needs to be more competitive ..too high. The Fitness center needs more equipment.
The staff was very helpful. They did their very best to solve a problem that came up during our stay and did a great job! Not really.
We got a suite instead of the booked room, which was a nice surprise.
breckast was very good, nice staff, close to the beach
Good and comfortable hotel, nice room, excellent pools (one of the best inside pools ever seen), very well located in a quiet area, very close to the beach. Although the chairs and umbrellas around the pool are not enough when the hotel is fully loaded, there still are a considerable number of them to be used by the guests within a very large area of grass over the sea! The hotel staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful at all times, but I would like to make a note around Marisa Costa (Pestana's Vacation Club) which was unsurpassed with us and especially with our baby, making everything for us to feel comfortable and welcome at the hotel. Between 19h30 and 21h00 the showers have a significant loss of pressure making every bath in this period a negative experience. Although parking is free to guests, they could control it better, as some guests tend to feel that their cars occupy more than one place. Breakfast was good but they failed inexplicably in terms of variety of fruit, bread and (during August week) clean dishes and coffee mugs. For a family hotel they could already have a dvd player in each room!
The proximty of the beach and the service from the front of house staff The Bed was very uncomftable
Lovely big, clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent! It was noisy at night but that was possibly because it was during school holiday time and there were lots of children and also maybe the floor we were on?
the location was outstanding
Everything was exellent!staff was very friendly with kids, very helpful!the atmosphere is great!location and views are fantastic!would like to come back again!
The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Our apartment was beautiful and very spacious. The pool and gym facilities were excellent as was the spa. Would definitely return there. There should be a shuttle bus available to bring people into Carvoeiro. The cost of taxis certainly added up after a week. While the apartment was cleaned daily nobody wiped the surfaces and we had to ask several times for dishwasher tablets.
Very little staff, certainly not enough to satisfy the amount of guests, not 5 star service quality
Beautifully appointmented and definitely a 5 star feel, food was fantastic, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the place had a very relaxing feel, and the kids loved it. It was perfect for us location wise also. No wireless internet, it wasn't working, and I had to use the hotels computer behind the reception desk. Which was great of the staff, who were very helpful, but I do feel provsion should be made for a computer for guests to use in a private area, or even better the wireless should be repaired.
The location; values for money; spa & health club facilities Only missing the Turkish bath for the spa facilities.
Calm and nice place for relaxing. Wonderful staff. The restaurant and the snack-bar were very poor. Dry meat and bad cooking. It´s a shame that this very nice hotel can´t serve good food. They did know how to charge you for the food, but cook it... No!
Quite a peaceful place to stay - it was very quiet there when we arrived but got busier as the week went on. Lovely clean rooms and the whole hotel had a luxury feel to it, and it felt high quality. Lovely peaceful location in the countryside but easy to get to local towns and beaches. The hotel felt a bit soulless at times, partly because it was so quiet. It felt like there should be more going on or more things organised but there was little information about what the hotel offered (no general guide in your room, for example). The service was laid back, which was good, and most people were friendly and helpful but it lacked 5 Star attentiveness that we've experienced in other resorts of this calibre. It's like 5 Star but you're left to your own devices, so if that's what you're after it's great.
Wen I arrive, the room that was reserved to me was very poor ( a two stars hotel dont have a room like that ). I made a complain and they change the room. But I think a 5 Stars Hotel can put a guess in a room like that, and if we go to a Hotel like this one, we never think that we must have to discuss the quality of a room
staff helpful and friendly / hotel grounds were superb / drinks were extremely expensive
Superb surrondings, very charming hotel with tasteful decoration. Huge swimming pool. Very efficient service. And a super plus, fresh toals and private chaise-longs on the nearst beach. We just loved our stay. No free Wi-Fi; but that forced us to disconnect more :-)
Great setting; fantastic golf; hotel with a lot of charm and personality; casual but professional lunch at the Cotton Club and a marvellous wine tasting dinner at the Grill restaurant on Nov 12! A fantastic experience. Need to rent a car if you want to escape
The Garden, bathrooms very clean, nice linnens, entertainment, breakfast.
The standard of housekeeping was very poor. Room not made up some days until late evening despite several calls to reception. Only on last day was this satisfactory.
Swiming pool and garden. If you are not a golf player, this is not a hotel to stay in. It is far from anywhere I.E. Alvor and Lagos. Rooms are average for 5 star hotels. No beach nearby. Their private beach is not good for swimming: too cold.
The beds were incredibly comfortable! We had booked a wine/pairing dinner hence decided to stay overnight. It was a nice event but we were both ill that night and the next day. At first we thought we'd had too much wine (a few glasses but I don't think more than anyone else at dinner). We mentioned at checkout feeling a bit rough but we still had mild food poisoning type symptoms the rest of the day and realised it was in fact 'in the stomach' and not a hangover! It was difficult to know what to do but we thought the chef ought to know in case it was bad seafood ? so we reported it to the hotel front desk later on 13th but she wasn't very helpful. It's not a complaint as we didn't ask her to do anything only to tell the chef and to be aware others might report symptoms.
I have been visiting Penina for over 30 years now - it is truly a special place. The setting is spectacular, with immaculate golf courses, and beautiful garden areas. Facilites are superb and the staff are charming. With fewer than 200 rooms, the hotel never feels crowded. Highly recommended.
Five star atmosphere, lovely food. Good shuttle bus to the beach
The swimming pool area is great! The staff at reception was not nice. And the rooms need to be renewed.
Bad service; Dificult to find a place in swimming pool
Location excellent, the staff were more than helpful. The rooms have a small kitchenette and are ideal for making snacks. The complex is large built around a marina, the restaurant and bar facilities are in the central area quite a walk from some of the outer situated rooms
Really nice hotel out of season (end of October). Down by the Marina front, with a close walk to the beach and lots of shops/resteraunts & the Praia Da Rocha strip. Its also not too far from the town of Portimao (15 minute walk). Marina was filled with boats but even on the windiest of days, you couldnt hear the rigging (thank god). Would defo go back and utilise some of the hotels many facilities. 2 Beds pushed togther to make one bed??? Just invest in some double beds, 2 singles pushed togther is rubbish
It would be better if the bedroom was separate to the rest of the room instead of like a studio .. i thought i was getting a junior suite
Comfortable apartment with a good restaurant attached. The view of the Marina was a bonus.
Just everything. A Great Stay. I am not that spoiled.
Location,breakfast,cleanliness,tranquility,facilities and staff.
Proximity to the beach. Swimming pool on site. Very good breakfast Overly expensive restaurant on site. We asked for a room for 4 people and the bed for the third and fourth persons was really uncomfortable.
The location right next to the beach at Praia da Rocha is superb. The bathroom was showing signs of age, as there was mould around the bath and in the grout in the tiles
Excellent roomy accomodation for discount price. Worn towels (but clean!)
The breakfast was great with a wide selection of choices and the apartments were beautiful, fully equipped.
We stayed in September 2010 when the hotel was new and some facilities were not available. The accommodation was excellent and very spacious. The pool was lovely and there were always plenty of sunbeds available. The food at breakfast was good though sometimes slo in being replenished Although the food at breakfast was good and the staff were very nice service was very eratic. There were lots of staff milling around at times but they were very disorganised and sometimes there would be a long wait for tables to be cleared of food trays to be filled. The hot water in the villas was provided by a hot water tank and if all four of us tried to shower one after the other the hot water would run out.
top rated hotel in every aspect, simply wonderful. You must come with a car though, otherwise you need taxi to/from hotel to town or back. none whatsoever - all was perfect.
Beautiful location and setting. a very nice resort. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Superb breakfast buffet, good restaurant, lovely pool, suites very comfortable Breakfast times could be extended - this might help with seating difficulties. Definitely need more sun umbrellas as it gets very hot.
The location was good and the layout excellent. The apartment was more than we had expected from the web site information. We were disappointed with the second evening meal we had at the restaurant and it was not up to the standard of the one we had earlier in the week.
The accommodation was new and much larger than usually found. The accommodation is in self catering villas. The spa treatments were too expensive to make use of.
The quality and the price (77 euros per night). your normal prices seem extravagant
The weather was amazing every day. The staff we very helpful. The hotel was close to a town which provided more options for food and drink. The guests were not the most friendly. Everyone kept to themselves. Did not like the idea of people reserving sunbeds by just placing a towel on it early in the morning and then not showing up until the middle of the afternoon. Very selfish.
The location is fantastic at the most interesting end of the Tres Irmaos Beach and surrounded by some great restaurant options. Loved the options to partake in free classes run by the hotel and using the spa. Breakfast was a particular highlight of our stay.
Location It is definitely not a 5 star hotel but certainly charges 5 star prices. As a minimum in a 5 star hotel you expect a porter to collect your bags from the car. this never happened upon arrival or departure from the hotel. Also a 5 star hotel should be offering refreshments around the pool to guests, not have them have to go to the main bar and wait to be served.
Great hotel, wonderful location and beach. Very relaxing.. Towels changed every morning and evening.. Nothing at all..
The view was wonderful. staff gets annoyed if people want to contact other people staying at your sister hotels. Not clear on what is included with room.
Fantastic location, staff very professional and extremely kind and a very good breakfast no slippers included in the room
We liked the location and the position of the hotel above the best under developed beach on the Algarve and the ability to acess the beach easily. The gymnasium facility was very basic and dated for a hotel of this star rating. It needs to be updated urgently.
The beach, the breakfast and the friendly staff Pillows were not very comfortable and the TV had poor reception.
I enjoyed easy access to the pool area. The views of the sea. The warm reception in the dining room for dinner and breakfast. The hotel enviornment felt very safe. Noise permeating from early morning risers as the wheels of suitacases could be heard. The piano for breakfast broke the peace of the morning. I would have liked a receipt for my food and drink also for my records. The airconditioning was not very efficient. The shower in my room was dissapointing and the shower curtain allowed the water to wet the floor. T.V reception was not great. I don't agree with it's five star rating, perhaps four.
The rooms have a lot of space. You can have breakfast and dinner outside with view on the swimming pool and the sea. The rooms were very good constructed - they stay cool during the day (even without a need to use the airconditioning). Only the hotel management, the staff at the reception and the higher staff in the restaurant understand English or French (few). The other staff (cleaning, restaurant, ...) only speaks Portugese. Some of the staff in the restaurant for breakfast isn't professional (for example the preparation of eggs). The swimming hasn't got a good water circulation system. The prices of consumation at the pool are too high (> 3 EUR for a bottle of mineral wather). Due to the fact that the hotel is situated in a beautiful green area, you need to walk a long time before you find a shop or supermarket. When you compare the hotel with other beach destionations like Gran Canaria for exemple, a lot of luxury in the hotel is rather common on other destinations or has a better price/quality (the Portugese Algarve region is in general expensive). The hotel is also used on one way or another for the selling of time sharing products.
Beautiful interior and excellent location. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Breakfast also good.
Location is great, great views. No food options in the hotel during the day.
location, and size of room no english breakfast available,
spacious room with cooking facilities lack of choices in the breakfast menu.
the location and views of resort nothing
The first room given to me was a bad one. No Balcony but 2 small windows that didn't open at all instead. After my claim, the presented room has the publicized characteristic announced in the site.
Located on the beach, nice and calm at the and of the season. Original style. Wooden floors make some noice above your head.
The position of the hotel is excellent, we loved the garden area, the room was cleaned to a good standard and the breackfast offered a good daily choice. Our only complant is the people who reserve sunbeds by leaving their things on them then going away. This is unfair to people who want to stay in the grounds. something should be done to bring this to the notice of guests using the hotel.
friendly ,efficient helpful staff. Great location beautiful views clean, spacious rooms delicious breakfast No kleenex in rooms
we cut our stay short. the food was inedible and we will be seeking a refund.
The staff are helpful, friendly and want you to enjoy your stay. We've been a few times and it's nice to see so many familiar faces - a sign of a happy team. Its very peaceful and relaxing and the resort has a distinctly European feel. We like the fact there are lots of different nationalities and types of guests (families with young children & couples) and hope that it stays that way. No.
facilities, and being taken care of. closeness to beach lack of large unbrells around the pool
We were upgraded to a duplex townhouse from a double room as I believe the hotel was overbooked. The duplex townhouse was beautiful with three full bathrooms, a large living a dn agood sized kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with a dishwasher, cooker, microwave etx. There was a balcony plus a terrace with a beautiful view over the pool and gardens. It is a long way from the nearest village, with the nearest shop three kilometres away therefore we felt it would be necessary to have a car if staying at this location (which we didn't have!!)
The resort just gets better. The guests are mostly European, probably less than 10% British and the resort is tranquil and very low-key. You don't come here for the nightlife or entertainment but to relax and enjoy Portugal. If you're staying for more than a few days, you'll need a car or you might get restless. The staff are very helpful and courteous and the housekeeping is faultless. We wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
Nice hotel in a beautiful surrounding. Qiet room with comfortable bed. Easy to find (but don't go according to the recommendations when booking at booking.com which will give you the shortest but not the easiest and most comfortable way). Hard to find anything ... maybe it should be noted that it may be unpleasant to reach the breakfast room which is in little distance to the hotel and can only be reached by walking outside: This was inconvenient during rainy and windy conditions including slippery stairs.
The 'Town House' that we stayed in was spacious, clean and modern. Hotel pools were well maintained and pool staff always helpful.Use of towels for poolside very good. Poolside bar/terrace accomodated breakfast, this was excellent in terms of choice and quality.Very relaxed upmarket atmosphere. On occation the reception staff were not as helpful as we would expect.
Beautiful lounge and bar area. Externally the pool area and gardens were of a high standard. Suite was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was very poor for a 4* Hotel, struggled to find something nice to eat and when we had lunch this was also very disappointing. Therefore we decided against having an evening meal at the Hotel.
It was quite upmarket yet laid back with friendly, efficient service, a lovely pool area and gardens and a bistro style restaurant that offered a 20 euro 3 course meal as well as a la carte and everything served was delicious. The townhouse bathroom fitments were elderly and some tiles cracked but overall the accommodation was incredible value, spacious and with a large modern kitchen and with nice touches such as the hammock on the terrace.
Exceptional service, friendly staff, very clean and spacious rooms. I stayed here for one week in May. There were not too many guests and the atmosphere was relaxed. If you want to go to the beach, you'll need a car or a bike (bike from 7euros a day, about 20 minutes to Carvoeiro beach). You can get a cab for 10 euros.
