Also a big thank you to Mr Edward for his first Class Hospitality. The shuttle service to Sapa Town was another big win for Silk Path. Thank you very much for making our visit there a Huge highlight of our trip.
Pros: Everything about this hotel is near to perfection
Pros: We initially planned to stay one night in Sapa but this hotel is so wonderful that we decided to extend our trip to another day last minute and the staff was so helpful to let us stay at the same room and make us comfortable. Amazing experience and couldn’t be more happy, definitely will stay in this hotel again.
Cons: Just a minor minor comment on the paper in bathroom. Nothing to complain actually, the place is close to perfection.
Pros: Property is beautiful. The reception staff was professional and helpful.
Cons: Food options are very limited and resturant staffs are not trained upto the level of 5 star.

Pros: Beautiful landscape and a really nice owner, who cooked a wonderful meal. We had conversations with google translate, but it worked out fine.
Cons: The pancakes had a few small bugs.
Pros: This place in the very peaceful and calm area. I can recommend this place for everyone who need to rest:) Breakfast is very nice. Nearby you can find some local small shops with food. i enjoyed every minute here
Pros: Peace and quietness. Being close to nature and the local people. Value for Money.
Pros: This homestay has an authenticity that has become quite rare in Ta Van. It is remote and quiet with breathtaking views. We loved our time with Toan, who was so sweet and cooked us a great local meal.
Cons: The bed was a little bit hard to be honest.
Pros: Very nice owner, amazing location with amazing view (in the middle of the rice fields). Very good breakfast.
Cons: 7$ quite much for dinner, but the dinner very was very nice.
Pros: The location was beautiful - overlooking the rice paddies. The homestay was also close to many cafes and restaurants and other homestay where we could have dinner or coffee. The owner was lovely, breakfast was freshly made (pancakes or fried rice). The double room (private) was basic but has all the amenities needed.
Cons: I wasn’t a fan of the two puppies but this is because I don’t like dogs! They were friendly enough (maybe too friendly).
Pros: ZMONG is so helpful and friendly. It is such a wonderful homestay and is incredible value for money. Its impossible to find a nice location esp in the middle of the rice field ! Everything was perfect!!!!!!”
Cons: Nothing else!
Pros: Tuan and his Dad are wonderful people, really kind and nice. Their disponibily started before our arriving when he texted me on whatsapp saying we will have found a taxi waiting for us at the bus station of Sapa (we arrived very early in the morning - 6 am!!!). Their Homestay has an amazing view on the valley and it’s near to some beautiful villages. In the winter the place could be a little bit cold but no fear because Tuan will immediatly give you an eletric stove to heat up your room. The way they cook is superlative, you will taste typical and delicious meals! I’d say: perfect place. + Tuan has also a coffee shop in Sapa, after we left the Homestay to move to Sapa city he invited us to offer us a really good coffee and helped us to get the wonderful village of Cat Cat. He introduced us to his wife, a kind and beautiful woman. You will join interesting conversations with Tuan that speaks english very well.
Pros: Very nice homestay. Friendly family, nice and clean rooms and a perfect location. Located in the middle of the rice fields, away from Sapas crowds. We spent four nights there. It was the perfect starting point for some lovely hikes. You can get there from Sapa by Taxi for 200.000 VND. Would definitely recommend this place.
Pros: The family is very friendly, and ready to help. We spend some amazing days away from the traffic chaos, in the middle of rice fields. The kitchen at homestay is local and realy delicious, ask for dinner, you won‘t regret! Let‘s support friendly local people and choose great homestays like Zmonghomestay

Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: Ongoing renovations
Pros: I loved this hotel. The staff were excellent
Pros: Nice hotel and staffs
Cons: A lot of roadworks and construction going on but that is not the hotels responsibility
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed in the Diamond hotel. The location is perfect, the mountain view is sublime, the staff our extremely professional and very kind and helpul. And for me the cherry on top of the cake was the amazing delicious breakfast... We would 100% recommend a stay at the Diamond hotel.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect.
Pros: Very nice location and hotel. Spectacular view from both rooms and rooftop bar
Cons: Quality of the restaurant for dinner very poor and waitresses in the restaurant very unpolite
Pros: Excellent view and good breakfast.
Pros: The staffs are friendly
Pros: The view from the room was the best thing about our stay. Also, the room was big and spacious. The staff was very friendly. They have shower facilities although when we stayed they were closed because there was a water shortage.
Cons: The breakfast was basic but ok. Maybe they could paint some rooms as there were marks on the walls.
Pros: Amazing views from the balcony and top level bar. Family room was good for us.
Cons: Not the hotels fault but construction noise from outside the hotel early in the morning.

Pros: - clean & comfy beds - good AC - friendly stuff
Cons: -It was written it will be a female dorm, what was not true. - no breakfast, what makes price for dorm quit expensive
Pros: They helped me book a rental motorbike
Pros: The hotel is in a great location and very well presented. All staff went out of there way to assist in any way they could. The dorms are the best that I have stayed in while travelling through SE Asia and China. The best. Great value for money
Cons: The Toilet and shower facilities were not maintained in the mens room. The men showered in the ladies room while I was there for the 9 nights. All facilities need a good clean not just a whpe over. The coffee shop is the best but each time I went to order something from the menu it was not available. No Food anymore even though it is on the menu.
Pros: Very quiet, very cosy and very clean!
Pros: Good hotel with a good restaurant coffee shop on top
Pros: The receptors are friendly. The breakfast is also good.
Cons: Not very convenient to wash clothes.
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: Only 1 brand of beer -- foreign. Lack of electrical outlets convenient to boil water.
Pros: The place is okay but the staff was great and really helpful. They were super nice and friendly and helped me with booking a bus to Ha Giang. Amazing hospitality.
Pros: Great location, good staff, nice rooms, cold aircon that really works
Cons: Toilet facilities need a good makeover. Had to use the ladies facilities to shower.
Pros: Great view of the MeKong river. Helpful stuff.

Bicycle rental is available, while shuttle services can be arranged at a surcharge. The property is approximately 12 km from Sa Pa Lake. Fansipan Mountain is 49.5 km away.
Pros: The garden and local handcraft where great
Cons: A menu
Pros: Gaerdens were spectacular. Large verhanda and large room.
Cons: Large dog tied up in small cage. As an establishment catering to westerners, they should be a little more understanding of western ethics concerning animals. There was also a small monkey locked up in a cage with chickens. Very disturbing.
Pros: We stayed 3 nights at Ta Phin Stone Garden and we really loved the place: we loved spending time in the magical garden by the fish pond and we loved the owners Thanh and his wife who were so attentive and so genuine. We felt part of the family. The village itself is about 10 km north of Sapa and it was a peaceful oasis compared to busy and noisy Sapa. The nature around the village is very beautiful and Thanh helped us to organize some trekking trips with local guides from Red Dzao ethnic minority group. The treks were very beautiful and our guides spoke very good English so we were able to find out about their lives and their customs. We saw almost no tourists during the treks which was a bonus. We highly recommend this place to anyone going to the Sapa region and who doesn't want to be swamped by tourists. If we ever go back to Vietnam, we will definitely stay here again.
Cons: I saw a cockroach in the room
Pros: The hotel is in a beautiful, if remote location. The garden is stunning. Good breakfast.
Cons: The hotel lists "transfer" in the services offered. However, when we requested transnfer to Sapa town (which isn't exactly an easy ride), the price was even higher than a taxi's. We booked a double room with mountain view but upon arrival were presented with a small twin bedroom with no view. We brought this up to staff and were told that that was the room we booked, until we insisted and showed them the booking on the app. Only at that point the man (manager?) conceded that the room was not, in fact, the one we booked and that a large group had decided to extend their stay, keeping our room occupied. He offered a discount on the price which was given on check out. We felt like they were paying more attention to the large group.
Pros: I booked the DBL room mountain view which has a good mattress and a huge bathroom. Decoration and equipment are quite basic but the large windows offers a direct view over the flourishing garden dominated by the mountain in the background. The latter gives the property a considerable value. The herbal bath is a must to try.
Cons: - Rooms are not soundproof so it's very likely to hear your neighbor breathing during the night. - The location nearby the main road (fortunately the rooms are settled a bit away from it)
Pros: It has a nice garden and my room had huge windows facing it.
Cons: Im not sure if the references below from other travellers refer to the same place that I came to. A) It's not remote. It's on the main road of Ta Phin. But as far as I could see, all the rooms go out to the back where you see the pretty garden and fields B) Didnt feel like part of the family either. I thought maybe the manager was just having a bad day and was persistently friendly to her, but even the next day I never saw a smile on her face. She did give me one of the best rooms, which I appreciate, but the human touch is also quite important.
Pros: Owner is a hard worker, takes initiatives, is a nice guy.
Cons: Woman selling rubbish.
Pros: The view is amazing! It is worth walking from Sapa to wake up in that place! Staff is super-friendly and helpful, man can feel like a family member with them. Room is clean, as it was quite cold in Ta Phin already, we were given a heater. Breakfasts were fresh and tasty!
Pros: Very unique experience in a small Ta Phin village. If you are looking for a rather quiet and (still) authentic site this is a great choice. The hosts are super friendly, the food is good and the room very nice, especially the mountain views. Even though the weather was not great, we still did a guided tour (arranged by the host) around the village and in the surrounding mountains. Despite the mud it was still very beautiful.
Cons: You have to catch a taxi in the Sapa village to get there and go through quite a difficult road, but that's what you should expect and it is a part of the experience.
Located in Lao Cai, Lao Cai Royal Hotel is on the riverwalk, within a 5-minute drive of Thuy Hoa Park and Den Mau Temple. Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Planning an event in Lao Cai? This hotel has facilities measuring 6458 square feet (600 square meters), including conference space. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room was very comfortable, the hotel is very big and spacious. The location is not downtown, but quite pleasant with view to China.
Cons: Staff behaviour was very disappointing. Checkout is 12pm, but at 11:30am they started calling, and would call every 3 minutes. Until 6 minutes before 12 they came to the room, I had to tell them to wait. 12 I was downstairs checking out and they wanted to charge extra, I didn't agree to it. I've stayed in over 300 hotels all over the world, it's the first time I had this kind of situation.
Pros: Ly on reception was wonderful she looked after all our needs. We highly recommend her abilities and customer service. Nothing was any trouble. Good location to wait for the night train.
Cons: The bathroom floor was continually flood from a leaking pipe, which made it dangerous and uncomfortable. Room 704.
Pros: Staffs are helpful.Everything is nice.
Pros: The hotel looks shiny and new, with marble floors and grand stairways. The rooms are sizable and comfortable, with a nice bed and modern bathroom. Staff is friendly. Very few speak English, but there are some who do, so the trick is to find them.
Cons: We booked this 4 star hotel to relax a bit after an intensive 8 day tour through the north of Vietnam, but it didn’t really meet our expectations, certainly not taking into account the price. The pool area has no relaxing chairs, is hot and quite noisy, while the water was a bit dirty. The restaurant has no real menu, your choice is limited to an omelette, fried rice or noodles. If you then want to go outside, you have to walk a long way (or take a taxi) to reach the town with some more restaurants. Lastly, it was so quiet, so there was little atmosphere. This was probably the reason they didn’t provide the breakfast buffet on our first morning, so our choice was limited to...an omelette or fried rice or noodles. The buffet on our second morning was decent though. Laundry service was expensive.
Pros: They have a pool! The rooms have a bathtub and a shower. Heating works well, big window to the riverside.
Cons: It’s a little far off but we had a motorbike anyway.
Cons: Far from shop
Pros: Clean, large rooms, spacious & modern Vietnamese hotel, newly decorated bathrooms. Caters for local business men (on the Chinese border). View of river from the room (request high floor). Breakfast had many local options. Swimming pool looked inviting, but we didn’t have time. Great, value for money for a one night stay in Lao Cai city on your way to Bac Ha (market) or Sapa or traveling to & from Hanoi.
Cons: Staff speak little English, big hotel with a business like atmosphere (hotel seemed empty on the weekend). Air con didn’t work in the first room so they immediately switched us to the room next door.
Pros: We have arrived to the hotel after a few days travelling in North Vietnam in a very cold weather, so we really enjoyed a warm, comfortable room and a hot shower. rooms were nice, clean and very comfortable. We have arrived later in the afternoon and spa did not worked

Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Pros: swimming pool was nice
Cons: smell of cigarettes and burn holes in the carpet
Pros: Good location, relatively cheap price
Cons: Old facolities, noisy people
Pros: The hotel is super convenient for tourists who want to explore Sapa I had stayed for a business event, the services were great. Highly recommend for your holiday!
Cons: Soulless and lack of local restaurants
Pros: Good size room with comfy bed, good view, great swimming pool. Pho Bo at breakfast was excellent
Cons: Water in shower was only luke warm. Restaurant wasnt very good. Very poor service on our second night and food was not very nice.
Pros: Space , room ,
Cons: Staff , special about receptionist
Pros: Clean, modern, nice beds
Cons: In room dining closes at 10pm, however at 9:40pm we were told the kitchen was already closed and we could not order anything. There are not many eating options nearby and none open at that time. I pointed out that if in room dining closes at 10 then food should be available till 10, but the young front desk staff had no explanation. Our fridge wasnt working so that was replaced. The shower leaked and there was no bath. Guests were smoking cigars in the breakfast dining room
With a stay at Mai Anh Hotel in Lao Cai, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Den Mau Temple and China-Vietnam Border Crossing. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Pros: The owner was really nice with us, helping a lot ! Huge beds Parking for scooter
Pros: Location near the train station
Pros: The receptionist didn't speak English but she phoned a friend and everything got sorted surprisingly quickly. Also the room was very clean.
Cons: There was only little bit of hot water, so only one of us got to have a hot shower and the room was really humid (including the bed sheets and later our clothes) which made me feel even colder after my cold shower.
Pros: Clean and everything nice and good condition. Staff does not speak English but will call an English speaker to help.
Cons: No bed lights. No English information (only in Vietnamese and Chinese). Bathroom is very small
Pros: Excellent bathroom
Cons: The price's too high compared to what I've experienced.
Pros: The hotel was very clean and tidy. Great hot shower after a long day of riding and such a comfortable bed. Definitely exceeded our expectations.
Cons: There was SO much noise coming from the children playing downstairs for a couple hours but subsided for bed time.
Pros: Room was nice and clean with pretty decorations. Bed was nicely done, many pillows. Good value for money and great location between bus and train stations. Many food options around.
Cons: Really indifferent staff at the counter, didn't seem to care about anything other than their mobile phones. Very squeaky bathroom door. Waking us at night.
Pros: Perfect for a stopover to/from sapa but don't expect much.
Cons: Staff doesn't speak English and it feels like an empty place. The reception is also a garage at night. Rooms were cold and there was no heating.
Pros: Good for one night transit on our way to Sapa. The staff didn’t speak English but we could manage.
Cons: We could hear noise from the streets, the bathroom had a leakage.
Located in Lao Cai, Muong Thanh Grand Lao Cai Hotel is within a 10-minute drive of Den Mau Temple and China-Vietnam Border Crossing. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Comfortable, spacious, very friendly and helpful staff
Pros: facility ok, night view is good,, good value.
Cons: breakfast normal, not really excellent taste. staff response abit slow, take >20 min for check in.
Pros: Generous bedroom areas and clean interiors.
Pros: -an arrangement for an early morning bus to Ha Giang was done for us, really appreciate it -big windows with view over the city (not s if it’s scenic but still good) -nice selection of EN-speaking channels, especially, because we literally spent one evening and night there and needed to rest -we had to leave at 5:50 am and staff packed breakfast for us
Cons: the room was a bit worn out
Pros: Very spacious bedroom
Cons: Loud noise from electrics in room. No milk for tea - only condensed or soya in entire hotel. No ypghoirt and limited fruit for breakfast.
Pros: Fabulous view over Hekou, town accross the border of China from the 16th floor. And on the Red River. The bridge from Vietnam to China. Large room, large shower. Good waterpressure. Sumptious breakfast, albeit a bit bland tasting. Very friendly staff, some even speak English. Close to a large market. The area has a few nice coffeeshops. It is far more civilized than the area around the railwaystation, which is totally geared to fleecing tourists that come and go with the train from Hanoi. Expensive and bad food overthere, so cross the river. It is worth to go the extra mile to get to this area. Only like 2 kilometers further.
Cons: Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke although it was a non smoker room. Things were not exactly very clean. When I put the little table near the window a bit to the side, a whole lot of sunflowerpeels showed up on the carpet from under the table, which means they never vacuumed the whole room. If some one would vacuum the sunflowerseeds around the table, one would assume that there would be some more UNDER it...? So why not check? It's the kind of negligence not befitting a xxxx-star hotel. All in all, that and the cigarette odour, gave the room a bit of an unclean feel.
Pros: Breakfast was really amazing
Cons: Music in the hall next to the bedrooms all night
Cons: Big stains on floor and chairs made the room look dirty and filthy. Staff is unfriendly and not interested.
Pros: The staff is helpful.
Cons: The entrance floor is hot and has tabaco smell

This hotel has facilities measuring 10764 square feet (1000 square meters), including a conference center. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very big and comfortable hotel. Room was spacious.
Cons: Very far from Sapa if that’s the point of your stay. Breakfast was very dull. Staff were very bad at English.
Pros: Access the China-Vietnam border view from their 17t floor rooftop. With 1.55m swimming pool, gym, and clean, tidy, spacious room, reception and staff are nice and friendly.
Pros: Since it was cold outside, we really appreciated that the hotel had heat and hot water. Also the hotel is gave us free access to the pool since we had arrived before the check in time.
Cons: The property is old and worn down. Needs an upgrade. Also only one person of the whole staff spoke sufficient English. We arrived around 2h before check in time and they said they would check if any rooms are available. The hotel has more than 150 rooms and it was very quiet at the time. They said that the rooms are not ready but if we want early check in we have to pay 50% of the room rate extra to get it (hence the rooms are available). Also we realized how empty the hotel is. When we went for dinner at the hotel restaurant and were the only people there. And Lao Cai does not have my restaurants in the city.
Located in Lao Cai, Red River View Hotel is within a 5-minute drive of Thuy Hoa Park and Den Mau Temple. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Clean room, friendly staff.
Cons: No (or very poor) english speaking staff.
Pros: It was very clean and good location. Staff was very nice but don’t go anytime near a Holiday. They arranged a car for us to get to Sapa which was helpful.
Cons: We ordered food and only after a hour of waiting were told that what we ordered was unavailable. Another hour of waiting before we actually ate what they had to offer. The spring rolls were good but cold since they had been prepared initially but not presented. Because of the upcoming holiday, there was very little food, nothing on the breakfast buffet. Noodles and fruit were offered and instant coffee. The advertised pool was actually the pool at the hotel behind Red River and was not heated.
Pros: We stayed here for a night because we planned to go to Bac Ha market next day. They are helpful, help us to book a local bus to Bac Ha market with a very cheap price, otherwise they picked us up from the hotel, on time. And I didn’t expect the room was so clean and comfortable, we had a nice stay.
Cons: Just a little bit far from the train station if you want to go there by walking. ( it’s better to take taxi to go everywhere, about 50k) I guess the spa facility was closed because it was late or no people booked it so I didn’t do the massage as I had a long trip from Hanoi.
Pros: Very nice rooms.. everything was clean
Cons: They dont speak english, i was going for breakfast at 7:30, they should be open from 6:00, but nothing was ready. In the end they gave me pho bo soup..
Pros: Friendly staffs、Clean、Comfortable
Pros: Food was pretty good and the staff was friendly.
Cons: Bars weren't staffed and the spa massage facilities aren't operational. Took all night for the ac to cool down the room.

All guest rooms at Hoang Gia Hotel feature air conditioning and a desk.
Pros: Just good, clean and comfortable
Pros: The bed is way too comfortable, also the cleanliness!
Pros: Both the room and bed were large.
Cons: There was constant noise in the hallway. Prostitutes came to our room at midnight, waking us up by insistently knocking until my partner got up and opened the door. When we mentioned this to the receptionist on checkout, there was no apology or care. The hotel is too far away from restaurants and the town. There was hair on the sheets. The WiFi didn't work. The roof in the bathroom did not extend the whole way (there was a panel missing). There was a window which looked out onto a concrete wall which was 1 metre away. There was no mountain or city view as stated on the listing. If you are coming to Lao Cai on the way to Sapa, I would recommend just going straight to Sapa.
