Pros: The staff, especially Jim at the front desk, was so friendly and helpful. The room and the balconies are very nice and the location is perfect nestled in with all the quaint shops. We went to concert at Penn's Peak and appreciated the short drive back to the Inn.
Cons: Their parking is limited and we had to find a spot on the street part of our stay.
Pros: The hotel is centrally located in that part of Jim Thorpe. Although the building is old it is well maintained and has been modernized. The bed was comfortable. The adjoining restaurant had good food.
Cons: One problem is the lack of grade level access to the lobby and elevator. Bags have to be hand carried up steps and there is no help. We were told there was grade level access from a narrow alley behind the hotel. The hotel has three small parking lots. We lucked out when we were turning around in one of the full lots and noticed someone else leaving.
When visiting Jim Thorpe, Inn at Jim Thorpe is a great choice to consider. Guests can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, or indulge in deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or body treatments. Other highlights at this romantic hotel include a bar/lounge, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and room service.
Cons: What the site rating said and what we saw were two different hotels
Bad smells, old outdated hotel set right on highway
This was the worst hotel I have ever seen open!
I am 59 years old and stay at 40+ hotel rooms a year
Old furniture, bedding, noises heater and this was in first
Five minutes. I told the owner I could not stay in this room and asked for refund. He then showed me four more rooms to try and make me stay, but all rooms were similar.
He finally did give refund
Stayed down the street at Hampton inn for double the rate but slept well
Pros: The negative reviews of this hotel seem completely undeserved. A few mentioned that it took some time for the water coming out of the taps to warm up, but when I got in the shower, it was warm immediately. Someone else criticized the carpeting and the subfloor (whatever that is). I thought the carpets were plush and clean, and if there was a problem with the subfloor, it did not make it self known to the floor itself.
