We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice activities for the children. Good food and helpful staff. They even arranged gluten free food for my wife and daughter which is not usually easy to get in southern Europe. Floor tiles in the swimming pool area were dangerously slippery after rain. Not safe for children.
Dinner was excellent in quality and range - so many dishes to choose from. In retrospect, I would have preferred to have been closer to Limone itself as there was nowhere to go for an after-dinner stroll.
The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean.nothing bad to say! We also got upgraded when we arrived, cant complain!
Overall we were extremely satisfied with the hotel, staff, food, grounds etc. Villa Lucia, Location of the room was ideal, being down by the lake. Very quiet at night, but obviously not during the day being right next to the steps and public toilet. Room was not perfect and although kept very clean, it smelt very musty and damp. Noise of the internal fan (not air conditioning) which we could not turn off, kept us awake. Bed was not comfortable. TV reception appalling.
Hotel staff very friendly, animation staff very friendly and lovely, we had an incident i n the middle of the night water coming through the ceiling and it was dealt with brilliantly, restaurant staff lovely all in all brilliant holiday Only the music at night was not to my taste, but nevertheless we still danced and had a good time
The Garda Lake Mass tourism at its worst. Unsatisfied with the quality, we have cut our stay two days shorter (5 nights instead of 7, the hotel tried to charge us for 7 nights, finally they have charged us for 6 nights. Nice example of corporate greed and shortsightedness.
This was one of our best holidays ever. The staff were superb and dealt with many queries efficiently and freindly e.g. one of our suitcases went missing at the airport. There are extensive facilities and a private beach. Our room was superb and we had a fantasitc view of Lake Garda. A good hotel for familieis with children - lots of acitvities - although good for the older couple like us. We really missed coming away and will recommend to all our friends. No faults at all
Beautiful surroundings, lots of activities for children, three swimming pools + a private beach. Suits well to families Location of the hotel and the village of Limone is so remote, that car is a must (or taxi, which costs around 27 euros to Riva). Bus connections are unreliable. The so called 'Light lunch' was not at 4 star level, neither the dinner buffet. Lack of free wifi connection. Many of the hotels clients are on a package holiday which has an effect on the service and food. The service was not very attentive neither kind
Location, full service
Staff Sauna, swimmingpool was opened only till 18.00 a clock
The views, the access to the Lake and the surrounding countryside, the facilities offered by the hotel. The proximity to the town. The spaciousness and comfort of the hotel bedrooms, with their balconies and views. The overwhelming presence of Germans and the German language within the hotel. In Italy, I was anticipating an Italian hotel: however within Hotel Ilma, one could easily have assumed the hotel's location to have been in Germany. All greetings were initially in German e.g. "Morgen" and "Abend".
The staff were very helpful and considerate, particularly the restaurant and bar staff who were excellent. The rooms were very nice with lovely views of lake Garda. The terrace and both the swimming pools were lovely places to relax at the hotel. We had booked a panaoramic room and were placed in a very nice room but the view was obscured by trees growing right outside. However, when we raised the matter the staff were very helpful in placing us in a better room.
The hotel was excellently situated close to the village centre.Staff were friendly and polite. Facilities were excellent.
Excellent view, super clean spacious rooms, bed very comfortable, so were the pillows, good air conditioning system, pleasant staff Water in swimming pool was quite cold; walls are quite thin and you can be woken up by noisy neighbours
We enjoyed our stay very much but we found poor pressure on the shower in our room and water was always cold unless you were willing to rise before 7.15am to use the facility. We did report same on our first morning and noone got back to us.
Beautiful location/scenery, good food. Would have preferred minibus service into centre after 6pm
Upgrade to 4 star. Fantastic range of food at breakfast/dinner
Good family hotel, good pool area, shuttle bus to centre Buffet is good value, but rather plain food
The magnificent views over Lake Garda.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very professional. Beautiful views.
The hotel was situated in a great location overlooking the Lake and in easy reach of the Town of Limone. The food was not great in the hotel. I tried the evening meal once and found it to be of a low standard. Not recommended.
The view from here was fantastic -facilities for swimming ,dining etc were excellent. We felt we got good value for money. The buffet meal surprised us by its choice and cost..we paid alot more in the Limone restaurants for food which was not special. Staff are friendly and helpful The rooms airconditioning left much to be desired and the room itself was out of date but tidy & comfortable
Great location with amazing views. Nice restaurant within walking distance. Shuttle service to lake. Mini bar. Aircon and mini bar weren't cold enough.
Friendly staff. Cleanliness. On return to our room on two days we found the door open - obviously not closed properly by cleaning staff. We were overcharged by €20 for food - we had been asked to sign on one day when buying dinner vouchers even though we paid cash - we noticed when checking out that the €20 and signed voucher was on the invoice.
Lovely Hotel with great views over lake garda. Like playing the garden chess. Hotel far too large and inpersonal. Too many very rude clientel. Staff were very off hand and uncaring, except for the lovely lady who cleaned our rooms and the lovely man who replaced the drinks in the minii bar in our room. The buffet evening meal became monotonous- more or less the same every night , We felt like we ere in a busy shopping mall all pushing to get to the food first ( it was totally self service ) We were not allocated our own table in the dining area so again, once we had our food, then it was a search for an empty table, by which tome the food was cold ! This hotel is situated high on the hillside- in hot weather, its iompossible to walk down to the lake as iot it quite a walk, but the hotel offers a mini bus shuttle.
I did not appreciate one thing about this hotel. I did not like the location (too far away from the darling little town of Limone); I did not like the decor, which seemed as if it hadn't been remodeled for 20-years (though they claim it's a new "resort"), and I did not like the price (it was totally overpriced for what is offered). Do not be fooled, as I was, by any of the pictures!
The view (only) A ghastly package holiday resort hotel, not as it appeared on website. Dreadful buffet food only.
View, but make sure that you get a room on the top floors. Very good for windsurfing from Pier Hotel (10 min drive). They give you bad rooms first, so try to complain. They keep best rooms for travel companies and regular customers, but why should you pay for that?
we liked the room, the view, the breakfast, the nice and polite hotel staff.
Room was a nice size and the breakfast was good for an Italian Hotel. Some of the reception staff were unhelpful and the guest information area was extremely limited. The hotel information booklet in the room referred to the Christina Hotel (attached to San Pietro as part of same hotel group) and not the San Pietro Hotel. Sounds petty, but after using the tea/coffee facilities on the first day, these were not replenished; not what you expect in a 4* hotel!
the swiming pool no
Because of bad weather we enjoyed the swimming pool (inside). Our room Nr. 872 did not smell good. (Sorry)
Beautiful view, quiet location, efficient staff, cleanliness of room and facilities, delicious and plentiful dinner and breakfast buffet The parking spaces in the hotel's parking garage are very small and tight, and extremely difficult to get in and out of in our station wagon. The parking is best suitable for compact cars.
The room was large and comfortable with a very nice view of Lake Garda. The grounds were well kept and was very nicely landscaped. The hotel was very large and filled with bus loads of tourists. The walk to town was long and up hill the whole way back.
Great swimming pools, good size rooms nice service Not enough sun beds around pools.
The beach, the pool, the bar restaurant and the sport equipment. Staff was friendly, the view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. Bed was uncomfortable and rather short compare to our other stays. AC worked for only a part of the night and then quit. The wifi connection is super slow and not all TV s are flat screen.
We liked the scenic, quite location. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good value.
There is no thing I like in this hotel its typical family business hotel they did not respect the guest and even in the breakfast they close it and turnoff the coffee machine before they inform us if we need or any thing and the its really A poor choice and I did not find any guest reviews about this hotel on the website because its new in booking.com the hotel show 4 stars but its look like one or two stars maximum I reserved big room and they gave me Small one and the second day I said that I would like to leave the hotel because of the room and they change it but the hotel is not clean and there is a lot of Ants and insects in the bathroom
The hotel was well situated for restaurants and the town with a magnificent view of the lake. Nice pool - Excellent buffet breakfast! Bathroom was a bit small but not a major problem.
the continental breakfast and the terrace just outside the bedroom The photos on internet are far too flaterring. En consequence, the reality is slighty disappointing
The view is amazing! The owner is a very nice person and we are looking forward to returning here again!
very friendly staff, excellent service, gorgeous views from the hotel, a really fabulous breakfast we would have likes more storage in the room, a chest of drawers perhaps, also tea making facilities
The staff was terrific. They were the friendliest and most helpful people on our trip. The breakfast was the best we had in Europe. We had a beautiful view of Lake Garda. The bathroom was small but functional. There was only one mirror in the small bathroom.
Very good hotel - clean and modern, friendly staff and breakfast was excellent!!
Friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, good pool overlooking Lake Garda, easily arranged an extra nights stay
Peace and quiet and a relaxed atmosphere. Convenient for the town and lake. Staff very friendly despite language barrier! Wanted tea/coffee making facilities in the room but staff said no kettle was available
Very attentive staff, great location with good views and easy access to the town center, clean and well run room a little small for families, breakfast could be improved
the view, the perfect cleaning of the room eveyday facilities that were mentiont could not be used, like the whirlpool. The shower was a disaster: the whole bathroom was wet after taking a shower.
Nice room. Pleasant reception staff Unfinished.Poor quality breakfat. No bar for evening or waiters to serve drinks. Definately NOT 4*
The staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice.
Beautifully located just metres from lakeside. Hotel well equipped and nicely furnished with some lovely views. Excellent free underground parking facility. Busy place - felt like a number rather than a guest. Buffet breakfast was poorest we encountered and had to compete with sparrows to get at the bread. Staff countered this by occasionally cutting off first slice and throwing it away!
the fridge didn't work and the towels were so new we were covered in fluff after showering
The location, pool, whirlpool, view, flowers, close to town, balconies Needs to have coffe/tea set up in room
Its proximity to the centre of Limone The rooms were not cleaned properly and the bed linen was not changed during the 7 days we stayed
location no double rooms only twins, dirty floors, awful breakfasts, poor customer service
The hotel has an excellent location in the town, handy for the centre and shore but at the same time quiet. The design of the hotel is excellent. Staff were very helpful and rooms were kept to good standard of cleanliness. The showering facilities in the room are unusually exposed and won't suit everyone!
Rooms were noisy.
Pool and lake view, nice garden, very large rooms. It's uder construction - a part of it.
The hotel is very simple -- decor is 1970/80s and the place could really do with a facelift. We stayed for 4 nights and our towels were not changed a single time -- nor were we given additional soap or shampoo. The staff serving breakfast were not always able to respond to requests for coffee/water/etc.
Excellent location with splendid view Comfort level of the room in general (too small for a family of 3/4 persons, no bath tub, quality of furnitures...)
the best was location of this hotel and the lake view from our window. breakfast buffet was included but stuff requested extra pay for a second cup of coffee
We stayed at Hotel Castell for a week in September on a B&B basis. The first night we had dinner and found the salad bar had an excellent choice of good quality food. The pasta course was also excellent as you would expect in Italy. The main course was not that good. In Limone we found some excellent restaurants and would recommend la palme and gemma. The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. Our room was clean with fresh towels everyday. The view from our roomy balcony was also excellent over the mere and local harbor although the noise of some of the boats was very loud but they stopped running early enough not to disturb our sleep. All in all we had a very pleasant stay. The main course of the evening meal could be improved
An excellent family run hotel in a stunning location. The bedrooms are basic but servicable for a 3 star hotel
The location of the hotel is great. The hotel is noect to the beach and lake and the lake can been seen from the rooms with balconies. The staff are very frinedly and nothing is too nmuch work for them. The hotel is very simlpe but the location and staff make it! Simple accommodation and building not glam.
The hotel rooms all had balconies on the lake. The dining area and hotel appearance and rooms very basic.
Staff was very helpful to serve our needs, when travelling with an 8 months baby. Excellent location, right at the lake. Generally feeling of hotel has not been touched / renovated for the last 15 years. Heavy draught in the room even with closed windows. Booring and limited breakfast choice.
The location right on Lake Garda was fabulous as well as convenient to shopping, ferries, etc. in Limone. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Although there was no refrigerator in the room, which I prefer, they were very happy to put my medicine etc in their fridge and get it whenever I needed it. The bathroom was a bit small but with very nice appointments.
The location to the town and it being right next to the lake. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
All balconies directly onto Lake Garda No tea making facilities in room.
We were with 3 young children and enjoyed it very much
The panoramic views from the hotel is excellent. The staff is friendly. Hotel is clean and well maintained. The hotel needs a brush up (hotel is from 1975). The pool is not heated. The gardens and playgrounds are small, and not very inspiring.
excellent friendly helpful staff clean hotel nice breakfast would have liked english language tv channel even if only news though not very important priority
Great hotel to stay in, great helpful personnel, very good breakfast, nice pool and lakeside views. Highly recommended. Beds could be more comfortable.
Great views and helpful staff. Interior needs updating. Could be a problem for access to lake and town for elderley or immobile. Breakfast could be better
The location was great. The lobby was nice as was the free tea and coffee in the afternoon but to be honest I'm struggling to find good things to say. Most of the staff were friendly and pleasant. The hotel rooms in this hotel need a major revamp. Complete 1970s - drap, dreay and dark. They need to invest in the decor, carpet on the walls on the corridor is not a good look and a sit down shower in the bath is a joke.
Very friendly personnel (in fact, the same one lady was both at the reception and in the bar, since March is still a low season). Everything is clean. Furniture is simple, but new. Enough space in the rooms. Large bathroom. Storm-shutters on windows. Free parking. A child in parents' bed is free. Breakfast included (good, but modest). Good location: very close to the lake. The city is very nice (one of the local attractions). Children playground right next to the hotel. No additional beds are possible (however, this was an advantage for us, since our shild slept with us for free).
