The staff were so friendly and helpful, they really looked after us!
The rooms were clean, but does need a little bit of TLC .. but good value for money!
1. Big room. 2.Good location.
First of all I'm working as hotel manager in London and I know how the system works. Here is my experience. We choose this hotel only because of the car park ,it is kind hard to find parking facilities in central Liverpool. On top of that special request regarding the parking was sent 24h prior to arrival as well as a special note that that it is going to be my boyfriends birthday We arrived earlier ,we didn't ask for the early check in ,I just asked where we can leave our car. Nothing special, right? Receptionist ( I guess Indian lady or something like that) said that we can park on the street in front of the hotel. It was full.... Her answer killed me,I didn't know what to do: cry or laugh. She told me that I can wait on the street and if someone ll come I can ask them to move their car little bit so I can park . Woman are you normal?! When I asked about hotels private parking (b.com website has a note about that),she said that because of the road closure we cannot access it and she has no idea how to get there. Ok.no problem. I asked about the cancellation and refund, because, as I said parking was the main reason to stay here. From her face was clearly visible that she has no idea how to deal with cancellation and refund,I offered her to show how to do that....she was completely confused. My patience was kicking my own ass....I asked her to call the manager. At least she knew how to call....Lady on the phone explained us how to get to the car park....hallelujah! We parked, came to check in and surprise, we have to pay for the free private car park (it was written on the website FREE PRIVATE PARKING),maybe we have to pay for the telephone directions...anyways, I refused to pay, they accepted. Now about the room,it was ok. Nothing was done about the birthday. Ok. Bathroom.....when we entered the bathroom it was so cold that I thought that somewhere penguins are hiding ....it was terribly cold,we put towels on the floor to walk.
The lady on the front desk was lovely and asked any queries we had including parking on the front which on booking it says you can reserve but unfortunately this was not the case and it was park where you can on a busy main road thankfully she allowed us to park at the rear of the property in a gated area, why this is not standard practice I'm not sure.
10 years ago this would of been a great hotel but unfortunately it has a feel of a place that has very little time money and effort put into it over a period of time.
How clean everything was and how welcoming the staff were
Nothing to dislike
The shower wasn't very hot, it could do with looking at
