the area it was in
entertainment/meals poor cleanliness and shoddy decor in rooms/hotel very tired looking/poor parking
We really enjoyed our stay friendly staff good food and good location The lumpy mattress
it was easy to find the staff were brilliant and the hotel was very clean plus we had a gorgeous breakfast thank you we will stay with you again sometime xx nothing at all A*** hotel and staff
The hotel was good value for money The entertainment in the evening left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately it didn't really cater for people of a younger generation!!! Also the rooms were absolutely freezing cold even with the radiator on full blast.
friendliness of all staff
Wonderful views over the bay. Friendly and accommodating staff. Super breakfast. Room rather small. No bath. Some fittings very aged. Room exceptionally dark and only one chair but concierge arranged for an extra lamp. Overall the hotel has seen better days and is badly in need of refurbishment
the breakfast small room
The breakfast, well worth getting up for! Room was very good, as clean as you could ask for and no shortage of clean towels etc in bathroom. Would recommend the Clovelly to anyone staying in Llandudno...
Convenient, cleanliness, friendly.
good location draughty bedroom
Very friendly staff very clean and food very good. Wewill most likely visit again.
I like the friendly staff no every thing was spot on
located within easy reach to shops, beach pier and other local attractions
the excellent service and homely feeling of the hotel everything was excellent
The breakfast was gourmet - all needs catered for and beautifully presented. Staff were very courteous. The bathroom - avocado suite - reminded me of my student flat, 20+ years ago! Management did say there was a programme in place to refurbish.
Friendly Staff who wanted to make you welcome
friendlyand helpfull staff. Idealy situated for town centre, sea and countryside.
the view from the bedroom was excellent, and it was conveniently positioned for walking to shops and for bars + entertainment We did not like the presence of a dog which was left to roam freely at the hotel, even at breakfast he was running around the room.
The view of the bay from the room was excellent (We did pay extra for this room). Not really. We did not spend that much in the hotel as the weather was excellent. It is quite expensive for a Bed & Breakfast hotel
Breakfast was yummy, extra toast was requested and this was no problem for the staff. Could have been more flexable as 8:30 was quite a late start if you were wanting to go out for the day. 2 superior see view rooms were booked. One had a beautiful bay window the other a small window. I feel this was not a "superior" room but maybe a room with a sea view! No animals were allowed in the hotel but their own dog was there on arrival and had the freedom of the hotel.
Very friendly Lots of steps to climb
The location was excellent and the sea view room was clean with a spectacular view. Rhona the owner was very friendly, informative and considerate. She even enquired about the vegetarian options we may like at breakfast!
The sea view was lovely. Breakfast was good but coukd have had more variety on the continental side. The sea view room was very small. We thought it too expensive for the stay. £80 per night.
Everything about the Hotel was perfect. Parking was a little tricky but we soon found a permanent place close to. Only the no parking but you can easily get round that
Pleasant, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, good location. not suitable for the less mobile(steps and stairs)bar not open.
Friendliness of the proprietor and the position of the hotel. No dedicated car park. You have to take pot luck with the on street parking.
We used this hotel as a base for a recent golfing trip to Conwy and Royal St Davids. The hotel itself is situated in a good area of town and the Llandudno night life nearby. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and excellent value for money. Good breakfast selection is available. We certainly would not hesitate in returning to this hotel. Parking was a bit tight, but understandable for the area we were in.
Very good breakfast
No surprise. I got what I expected. No table in the room
Convenient situation, helpfulness of management, closeness to good eating places, Great Orme , the pier, and the comfort. Attractive lounge for visitors. I can think of nothing that I didn't like.
Lovely clean hotel with friendly welcoming staff.
The friendliness of the owners, the convenience of its position, excellent breakfast Noisy seagulls!!! only joking
We only stayed one night, but thought the service and facilities were excellent
It was very clean and staff where great and could not do enough for you It was close to everything from beach to shops/pubs to nice walks
Nice Breakfast and very central to town area
The welcome and friendliness of the family owners. The breakfast was superb. I stayed only one night but got the feeling that a week would have been as pleasant and friendly
The room was clean and comfy and the breakfast was excellent!
Excellent room. Excellent breakfast. Situation perfect
Location and value for money.
Excellent friendly welcome and superb location - the room was not huge but very nicely furnished. Room was a little chilly on a very cold night - double glazing may have helped
we arrived on a rainy friday evening the hotel was warm and welcoming.the well cooked breakfast on saturday morning really set us up for a day of shopping. there was plenty of places to eat and relax in the evening and the hotel was perfectly placed for an evening stroll by the sea. all in all a perfect weekend break
The hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel was very near to the beach.
breakfast frievieew not working so well
the town and area of wales.. location in town was an advantage ,, staff was friendly and helpful parking was hard to get, but was available as stated
It was very comfortable.
Quality of service and products available. Also had a stainless steel electric jug....so much better than the cheap plastic ones most places have. Friendly helpful staff. The mattress could have been a bit more comfortable but everything else was perfect
A lovely, clean guest house perfectly placed for town centre, beach, pier etc. Although small, hence the rooms aren't very big, it is beautifully furnished and decorated throughout with care. Breakfast was excellent too and I would definitely stay there again. I would've much preferred a bath rather than a corner shower in a tiny ensuite, but I appreciate the rooms just aren't big enough for that. There was also no bedside clock/alarm although the website said there would be. This was obviously ony a minor detail.
We were welcomed at the door, and this set the scene for the great service we experienced. The room was comfortable and the location was great.
Very central location, good pubs and resturants nearby. Really friendly owners. Excellent breakfasts. Compact bathroom
This is a lovely B&B, very modern & cosy. The room was very clean and had a few nice extras. The breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious ! The owners were extremely helpful
Very warm and welcoming proprietors. Modern and fresh decor and excellent breakfast! Would've been good to have a shower in the room with the bath. Other rooms do have showers though.
Steve and Julie are such a hard working couple who try their very best to ensure everything is great from the food to the atmosphere. Our stay was too short!!
The owners Julie and Steve made you feel very welcome and at home, and we were free to do as we pleased, there were no unpleasant surprises, we got exactly what we were expecting. You advertise it as Orme view room, it is not an Orme view room. This should be corrected.
The owners were very welcoming and extremely friendly. The room was spotless and had a lovely view of the town. The breakfast was excellent and very filling. I would highly recommend this guest house to anyone.
Owners very nice looked after us very well loveley breakfast very tidy accomadation lovley area None
Great breakfast, very friendly staff, we felt like friends rather than customers. None
Excellent breakfast. Very nice young couple who are very helpful. Good location. None
A luxury room with a superb comfy bed. Exellent shower facilities. no complaints from me
the room breakfast friendly staff no
friendly, helpful staff
The room was extremely comfortable and to a high standard. Good choice at breakfast. Difficulty of car parking - only street parking which I imagine would be even more of a problem in high season. Breakfast room a little small and hence congested - could perhaps be eased by smaller chairs.
it had a nice warm friendly atmosphere car park around the back...luckily we wre assisted in with our luggage but it woulkd be a ball ache if we hadn't!
The bed television and overall furnishing of the hotel wad very good Dirty towels, bathroom dirty. Staff useless. Breakfast a bit poor for the money. Overall for to expensive.
Friendliness and cleanliness
I liked the freedom that this hotel alloed you. Especially the honesty bar. Bathroom were dirty
Very welcoming. It was quiet as it was winter The only thing I could comment on was the bed in my room which was a little soft and springy for my liking, but that is a personal thing.
clean + tidy not good for people with walking difficulties needed a lift
We're an American family of 4 (2 children under 3 years) and stayed for only one night in October as we were driving through. We had a triple room with a 4-post bed (room 9) with a separate room for our oldest child connected via our large bathroom. The rooms were great and the decor really felt like we were experiencing a new culture. The staff (owners?) were excellent; we arrived late but were still warmly welcomed and felt comfortable. We all slept well and enjoyed the giant wash tub. Breakfast was included in our booking and was excellent; I think we all had the full English breakfast. We left early the next day, walked across the street to watch a seal, sea gulls, and look for shells and crabs. We then took the 15 minute drive to Conwy castle. We will definitely come back! Climbing up 3 floors with luggage and 2 small ones was annoying, but if that's the only complaint, then it's not bad!
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Priced right and located in a great area of Llandudno. Nothing I will stay there again.
Value for money, location and comfort. Well recommended!!
This was my fourth visit to the Montclare & Cumberland as an overnight stayer and yet again I was treated with extreme courtesy. Tess and Ian were very welcoming and breakfast was delivered promptly and tasted delicious. I will definitely be using this hotel again as not only is it well run and in a prime location, but offers great value with a top breakfast to boot!
The third time I have stayed here and I will definitely come again. Great breakfast with pleasant service, plus a tidy room with all I needed for a good nights sleep. I readily recommend this hotel for those looking for prime location at a more than reasonable price.
breakfast was hot, waitress was efficient poor reception, appalling carpets, could do with a visit from 'The Hotel Inspector'
The room was warm , HD TV very good , good breakfast The bathroom was extremley small for a family room , impossible to use the sink due to the cabinet the shower was either very hot or cold - until you spottedthe nail varnish that pointed out the best setting !!!
The friendly staff and excellent service along with a fabulous location for the sea ,pier and great orme too
Good location very convenient for touring We would have liked to have been informed beofre our arrival that the evening meal option was not now available as advertised. We would also have liked to have been told how much extra boking on line with you has cost us.!
The bar area was no opened would of been nice to be able to go in and have a drink, although the room was booked as a luxury room more like a standard
The room was clean and spacious. bathroom was small with cubicle shower but I am not a small guy and had no problems. The breakfast was superb. If anything the windows could do with a clean, but then again we were 3 floors up
Quiet and quaintness of a historical building. Parking for cars a bit awkward but then it,s a major problem in this area of town anyway.
The hotel owner swapped our room for us when I told her that the bed was uncomfortable for me as it had a foot board and I am 6' 6" tall. The rooms were beautiful and great value for money. Breakfast was plentyful, tasty and hot. The location of the hotel was ideal for both shopping and walking in the local countryside. But most of all the attentiveness of the owner was fabulous. I could not criticise it at all
Pleasant and welcoming landlady.Nice clean room with 4 poster.breakfast ok. Had too wait ages for hot water.Shower not brilliant.bed rather squeaky!!
The owners were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble . the cleanliness was second to none None
The staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly, the food was the best and all in all I had a very lovely stay. Not a thing.
good location for the town/beach and pier, view from room towards the Orme. spotless comfortable room. very attentive and friendly owner and fab breakfasts especially my vegetarian option.
Friendly Lack of parking
The service and hospitality was second to none!
Personal welcome, change of room for more elderly client, individually furnished rooms, rather than corporate same anywhere type. nothing too much bother.
Lovely hotel, tasteful decor, in lovely period building lovely gardens and views. Staff helpful and friendly. Vegetarian friendly. cooked breakfast wasn't fantastic-under-cooked and not so warm. Could have done with more refills of coffee& tea
