It was clean and conveniently situated
We arrived to be told we didn’t have a room booked. After insisting and showing the reservation they finally agreed. We booked dinner and were told we could not sit at the table of choice and the waitress then walked away. We ate elsewhere. When we tried to pay the receptionist walked off . Other staff refused to help and he returned 20 minutes later with a bag of shopping and no apology. We left some valuable items behind, in our frustration at waiting for the receptionist and when I called to ask if they could post them if we pay by credit card, they refused. The whole experience was unpleasant. Sadly the only way we can retrieve our belongings is to return to Lons-le-Saunier- a big detour. The attitude of everyone in the hotel with the exception of the waiter serving breakfast was hostile and unpleasant.

not really any of the old French character once inside the building.

The restaurant did not meet our expectations at all, neither the choice and the quality of the food nor the ambiance.
